TOM decided to make an appearance, not happy with the gain, but glad it wasn't a lot more either. Need to check in here, I know I've been a ghost lately.7 -
I tried to check in this morning but it didn't save.
Weekend check in
Food under
Water on target
Exercise as planned.
Still listening to pnp podcasts and trying to embed those healthy habits.2 -
@Mrsbell8well the step challenge was for the feb challenge which runs thru march 2, the new challenge for march starts today. the first full week in march. no worries. we got this girl!! and the reason i am a 36c is because i had a breast reduction in 2013. i was a 38e. i wanted the plastic surgeon to go smaller but he said the insurance would have a cow about it. i wanted a large b cup. on my short little frame it would have been cute but oh well. 36c is nice too. but on your frame 38d is really nice. you will probably end at 36d. we shall see when we get there. i just finished all my prep. phew. gonna relax the rest of the day.
@carlsoda thats for letting me know where it was at. sometimes i just scroll right by. i even looked twice. lol. ole lady eyes!!
@nstephenson01 no worries. we are not doing the step challenge this month. so it frees up some of me and @sleepymom5 s time. and you know you did get off track. but you never quit. you know where you veered off track and you are getting back on. and that podcast was game changing for me. it has really helped me get my head in the game.
@lennoncpa thanks for checking in. when tax time eases up i look forward to hearing from you more.
@CassieGetsFit2013 please check in more so we can talk about what your plan is. how are you feeling?
@amsandos and healthy habits takes time. how long have you been doing it a different way? remember practice practice practice!! you will get there just don't ever quit.
I got all my prep work done. i think a sunday afternoon nap is in order. i have had a good day thus far. happy sunday team. talk to you tomorrow.

Welcome new team members. I'm Tracy from New Hampshire. I'm 46, I have 2 boys, 24 and 21. I will be married 24 years in April. Yikes!! I am an assistant director in childcare, I am currently taking a class to become the director. I hate writing papers, lol. My youngest was in a bad car accident back in October and is still recovering. He was on high doses of depression and anxiety meds and he had a drink which caused him to pass out behind the wheel. Very lucky to be alive. His meds have been changed. He had surgery number 5, 2 weeks ago to remove his colosotmy bag and the hole is almost closed. He goes to physical therapy several times a week to try and gain some use of his hand. He has use of his fingers but not much of his wrist, they are working on that. He was cleared to go to Florida at the end of the month with his friend. I don't want him to go but I'm just mom. I lost a few pounds in February, it's about time, hopefully it continues for March.6

Good evening team. March introduction: I am a 43 y/o single mom to 3 teenaged girls. I have always been overweight in adulthood but never really thought much of it or moved into obese range. I was wearing sizes 12-14 / L for most of the time. I was eating primarily unprocessed "healthy" foods like quinoa, veggies, fruit, chicken breasts, etc. I was drinking almost exclusively water. I was happy with how things were and didn't even own a scale or a full length mirror.
I then had a short disastrous marriage and his way of eating was very different from mine. Lots of soda and other high calorie beverages, almost no fruit or veggies, steak with butter on it and a whole loaf of bread with butter for lunch type of diet. Almost all sugar, red meat, and white carbs. Over the course of our short stressful marriage he was the one who did the meal planning and cooking (he hated the healthy foods I planned/made - lol) and I started gaining weight. I was putting that food in my mouth and even started eating that way when he was not around so I am not blaming - just pointing out the major change from my basic tendency.
August 2018 I decided I needed to change my ways and be a good example for my girls. I was sick of feeling tired and having to buy bigger and bigger clothing. I started looking on the MFP discussion boards for "diet" ideas and decided to commit to recording everything I ate and weigh each week on Saturday. No other changes. The first weight was on 8/4/18 and was 228.5pounds. I have logged everything I have eaten since that day. I quickly changed my ways back towards my prior eating because just the knowledge that I would have to write down the number of cookies I ate - changed my way of eating.
I was reading the boards and other things (PNP podcast and the Beck Diet Solution are favorites). I slowly made changes I felt I could live with my whole life with the main focus being staying in my calorie deficit for the day. I have lost over 45 pounds and am so relieved to have come down out of the "obese" BMI range. I feel great and have had an easy time of the changes thus far. For me the key is making small changes and trying to fit them into my routines. I am so thankful for this group. Checking in daily keeps me on target.
March: I have decreased my calorie deficit to 250cals/day (from 500cals/day) because I am afraid my rate of loss has been too high and don't want to lose muscle. Otherwise I am sticking to same plan of tracking calories and sticking to daily goal. Yoga class 2-3 times a week and a few more weeks of twice weekly Curves circuit. I weigh daily and check in here every day before bed.
I am going to post a photo of me prior to the weight loss and one taken today. Tomorrow marks 7 months since I started logging and making effort to be healthier. I can very easily see that change in my face on the photo. I normally don't notice things like that, so I am counting as a win.8 -
Love the idea of before and current photo. Here is mine.5

Hi team and welcome to any new members! I am Lisa from Toronto, Canada. I am 52 and live here with my husband and our two boys. I joined this team in January 2019 and MFP in 2018 when I started out at 168 lbs. The weight came on slowly in my thirties as work and family life became busy. I have been quite the fluctuator as well. I am 5’ 3” with a petite frame, so every pound really makes a difference. I am a runner, but was sidelined by injury in October 2018 and am slowly making my way back with physio. As I told the team earlier, I had my annual physical in February and my doctor was very pleased with the my overall health, test results, and my weight loss (am currently at 152 lbs). In her opinion, if I maintain my current weight and healthy lifestyle, I will continue to be very healthy. I was very pleased to hear this, but it made me revisit why I am on this journey and my overall goals. I have decided to continue with weight loss, because I know that I feel better physically below 145 lbs, I enjoy running more, and frankly, I like the look of my clothes below that weight as well. Once I reach 145 lbs, I am going to revisit my goal every 5 lbs.
Goals for March:
Continue daily logging and cico
Continue to stay consistent with my daily physio exercises. It is a grind, but it really helps!
Get below 150 lbs
Focus on sleep, at least 8 hours a night
Start a daily meditation for Lent, just 5 minutes dedicated to silence
Happy March everyone!4 -
@phoebe112476 - Love your before and after face photos!! You look amazing and happy too!!1

Hi Everyone -
I'm happy to be here. I'm 39, I'll turn 40 in July, and that's got me super motivated and doing a lot of thinking and evaluating. At the moment, I weigh 189, and I've spent my 30's bouncing up and down, gaining and losing, and going through cycles of eating/drinking too much because I was stressed, and then dieting and losing some or all of it, only to go right back to overeating and drinking. So this time I'm focused on the LONG term, on making changes, but also on understanding and addressing the factors and reasons that have lead me to make a choice that might lead to temporary comfort but contributes to a poor future.
I've lost about 12 lbs since the start of this year. I have around 40-50 to go - I'm not totally sure what "goal" weight I'm shooting for, I'll figure it out as I get close.
My goals for March 2019
- take at least 30 minutes of deliberate physical activity daily.
- at least 10,000 steps each day (I use a Fitbit)
- Stronglifts 5 x 5 at least three times each week
- eat at a deficit that will allow for a 1-1.5/week loss (based on weekly average calories)
- log everything I eat, even bites
I'm looking forward to being part of this group. My understanding is that we post daily about our workouts, food, etc and also that we support and encourage the rest of the team, and then that we post our weight each week on our official weigh in day. Mine is Thursday, so is that the first day I should post a weight?

@hkfleming - Welcome to the team! I love your perspective on making long term changes. You can post about whatever you want to share (struggles, victories, questions, motivations, etc). Some post daily re: water, food, exercise. On your weigh in day you post in the following format:
Username
Week number (1-4)
Weigh in day (Thursday for you)
PW: (your weight last weigh in- you won’t have one your first week but could share your starting weight)
CW: (your weight that day)2 -

I am really pleased with this given that I had such a mammoth loss last week I was expecting it to go up or stay the same.
My new sports watch has a step count so if you are needing a contender I can get involved.6 -
Check in for: Sunday
Ate to satisfied: Yes! success
Water: 52 oz
Steps: 10177 steps
Yesterday was a very good day. credit worthy acts, stuck to my 24 hour plan, drank my water, got my steps in, planned the menu for the week, grocery shopped, prepped food, relaxed, took a nap. i had twice yesterday, the urge to eat when i wasn't hungry, i was able to sit with it and just let it pass. it is a work in progress. and i felt great at the end of the day when i could say, i listened to what my body needed and i ate what i wanted to satisfied. Back to work today, it is the beginning of the month, so i have some work to do. i will try and check in later!
@ljdanny it is going to be a struggle with your son. as a mom you are going to want to protect him at all costs. but remember, it is only he that can make the decision to take care of himself. what ever decision he makes will be his decision. you then can decide how to respond. i know it's hard, trust me. but try not to respond until there is something to respond too. hang in there. i am praying for you.
@phoebe112476 i didn't know you read the beck diet solution too. good job. i learned so much from that book. i look forward to seeing your before and after. oopppss never mind. you just posted it!. first of all, you are soo sticking cute at any weight! you can really see the difference. it is amazing look at what your hard work has done. such a great new version of phoebe!!
@Cafelelia love your March goals. you are going to crush this.
@GingerPwr and you pics are just awesome. you can totally see the work you have been putting into this. you are gorgeous madaam.
@hkfleming well welcome to our group. your goals are awesome. have you wrote them down and put them somewhere you can see them every day? and we post daily about anything that comes to mind. i always start with the check in above and then a little about my day and my feelings and what i am doing. then i go on to talk to my team mates. i talk to everyone but that is optional. if you feel you can add something to the persons journey, comment! and yes, thursday is the first day you will weigh in and then every thursday going forward. Post you weigh in like @phoebe112476 commented. and that is the only thing you put in that post. it makes it easier for @sleepymom5 and i to find so we can post it to the spread sheet.
@twyla77 oh you know that is just that fickle scale talking. you have had a lot of high sodium foods as of late. and tom will contribute. if that is all that has changed then i would just stay the course. it is just a normal fluctuation. ohmygosh!! you food for the week looks yummmmmoooo. you are set for success! good job prepping girl. your a rock star! if you don't mind my asking (you don't have to tell if you don't want), what size were you before and what size after? and i agree, the reduction has made a world of difference with my chronic pain.
lol is @sleepymom5 a sleepy mom! get some rest girl. back to work today! did you make your 24 hour plan? up and at em.
@hope002 ohhhh i am so glad we didn't lose you. please do check in before you go next time. they can kick you out of the challenge for not weighing in. just a quick i am going skiing and i will request you be excused! on that note, how was skiing?
@amsandos i ammmm sooooo please too. wooo whoo happy dance all around the room. the dog thinks i am nuts but i told him you lost another pound and he is up doing a jig too!4 -

Sunday check in
Food: Not logging this month but did well.
Water: 48 oz plus coffee - bad day
Exercise: got all my steps in and 30 minutes of yoga!
Yesterday was a pretty good day - really didn't do anything except read, cook, steps and yoga. It's nice to have a day like that once in awhile.
Back to work today and will definitely be getting in more water. I always drink so much at work!
Today is Day 4 of Whole30 - I just need to get through a couple more days and hunger should stabilize. But I am eating SO healthy! That's all that matters right now.
Hope everyone has a great Monday!!6 -
Off to a very late start today. I have to run. I will check in later today.3

March Week 1
Previous weight: 204.4
Current weight: 204.4
I lost my log in streak, again. This week’s goal is to start logging meals again.3 -
Daily check in: Sunday
Logged: yes, under
Water: at least 80 oz
Steps & exercise: 3 mile Leslie Sansone walking video; 12,622 steps
With it being so cold I'm struggling with my water so that's been my main focus recently. Exercise and food were good yesterday for a change. Sunday's seem to be easy days to eat too much and move too little. LOL
Have a great Monday everyone!!
