Since it's Wednesday, it's time for our last weekly challenge. Because this is the last week of the month we will only do this challenge through Saturday. How vital do you think it is to weigh and measure everything you eat or drink each day? Do you currently do that, or do you wing it? I'm trying to get into the habit of weighing and measuring everything accurately.

The challenge that starts today until Saturday is:

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?
    Gutbusters Weekly Challenge:
Did I faithfully measure and log everything I ate or drank?

I measure everything, sometimes, I see wow that's only a cup or tablespoon. It really opened my eyes to portion control

I agree 100%!! When I started using my scale and measuring cups I was shocked!! I thought my portions were good but I was totally overdoing it!!
    I love my scale haha!

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, recumbent bike, 20 minutes, 5.91 miles
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
    Gutbusters Weekly Challenge:
Did I faithfully measure and log everything I ate or drank? No, logged but not measured.

Stressful time in the kitchen this afternoon. I was making dinner for a young family who just had their fourth baby. I've done turkey breast in the Instapot before and it turned out great. This one was too big so I thought I'd defrost it first and maybe it would fit afterward. Well, defrosting it in the microwave caused it to have a huge puddle of icky juice. It fit in the pot then but didn't cook all the way through. I tried finishing it up in the oven but was running out of time so called the mom and asked what they wanted from Cracker Barrel. Thankfully they were thrilled with that. LOL! I finished cooking the turkey when I got home and was too stressed and frustrated to think about measuring it. I think I'm close on the meat, but I don't know for sure like I would have if I had measured it. LOL! On a better note, my microwave is sparkling clean now!

Happy to be back down 2 pounds after being up 2.3 pounds last week and up 1.5 pounds the previous week
but it's hard to get excited about a loss when I am just re-losing what I had re-gained.

Still need to lose 1.8 pounds to get back to my June 5th weight of 134.2 pounds.
I know I can do it but I need to stop reverting back to unhealthy eating.

This is my struggle. It's so easy to slip into old bad habits and requires much more effort and intentionality to stick with healthy foods and portions.

Wow, a simple diet change and I am liking the results. Basically I just cut back on the Carbs and Sugar and ate more veggies and protein. Now I just need to say on track!

Amazing what that can do, huh?! Congrats!!! I am happy for you!!!

While you're concentrating on measuring your food ... I was checking out the nutritional value on this and noticed the small print (highlighted in yellow):

I have searched but I cannot find my week 3 post! I'm sorry, I guess I didn't hit post? Weighing in a day early today as Saturdays don't seem to work for me...

Good morning everyone and happy Friday! I hope everyone is feeling good and excited for JULY! I have been really incorporating more protein and less snacky-carby junk this week and saw a nice loss. I think a lot is water weight, and it's weight I had lost and re-gained, but I feel better and more confident and energetic--focused on long term!

Not much of a loss but I'll take it. We had many rainouts this week.Last week we played many games during the World Series but the travel to Virginia had me at a slight gain. I am looking forward to running in a local 5 K. A friend's son died a few years ago and he has a momorial annual run for him. Depends how it goes if I sign up for another 5k.
On a scale @Keepingtrack1234 I use the WII for a scale. It keeps track and has a history that you can use for trends.
    Peace

Good evening, team! The following folks have made it through the entire month of June with us!! Each and every one of you deserves a :star: for hanging in there when things got messy or you didn't see the scale move like you would have liked it to. Some of you have done really well and have seen good numbers on your scales this month, and others haven't seen much of a change. That's to be expected sometimes. The winning comes in not giving up and continuing on toward a healthier lifestyle. I applaud you all and thank you for a great month. I'd love for everyone to continue on to July, but if you don't, know that I wish you well and hope you great success. I've enjoyed being the captain to some pretty amazing people. Thanks for all your input, your transparency, your faithfulness, and your willingness to do some hard things for your health.
    Much love and respect,
    Bonnie
