@johicks I checked my weight this morning and I was actually 174.8. I'll admit the 177 was a bit of a guess so maybe you can change it to today's weight. don't want to cheat!! :)

    Hello all!

While I have lost weight on my own in the past, doing it as a community makes the process much more interesting. I was doing great in March and April, averaging about 6/7 lb losses each month, but May I've only lost about 2 pounds.

I am hoping this challenge will be the push I need to do better in June. I really would like to be in ONEderland next month. I'm only 7 lbs away! Best of luck to all of us. :)

@Hey3432 ~ I'll check with Ashley to see if that is possible, as she's setting up the main spreadsheet for June to get us started and still adding more people for this month. But before I do, the question is, do you want to change your weigh-in day to Thursday, since you did weigh today? It's not cheating since everyone new starting the challenge had to give a weight almost a week prior to starting. But it's all up to you. This is your journey. :)

2 lbs loss is better than a gain! But I can understand where you are coming from. Getting to ONEderland is a very inspiring goal. I'm sure you can do it!

Good morning everyone!! I am so excited to be a part of this challenge. It sounds very fun and very motivational.
I am 42 years old and from the New Orleans area. I have been struggling with my weight since I was about 20. Back in February 2015 I hit an all time high of 311 lbs (318 by my home scale). I felt terrible, I could not do anything b/c I was so heavy so I decided to have VSG surgery on February 24 of that year. I managed to get down to 174 in one years time. (loss of 137 lbs). Weight loss surgery does NOT fix your brain/mind. It's very easy to fall back into old habits which is exactly what happened to me. About 2 years ago I regained about 66 lbs. bringing me back up to 239 lbs. I am 213 right now. Still a ways away from my lowest in the last 4 years.

Losing weight and staying focused is hard. We all need support at some point in our journeys and mine is definitely right now.

My goal for this month is to lose 10lbs and track consistently. I am excited to be here and I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Y’all are awesome for support and motivation! This week I started using a “couch to 5k” app to get me up and moving. It’s 30 minutes 3x a week, where I’m walking with intermittent running. There are definitely moments while I’m running that I think I can’t do it anymore, but I make myself push through! Even though it’s only been the first 2 days of week 1 I’m considering myself successful because I actually did it, and didn’t quit; so now I’m excited to keep going, and see what happens!

I’ve also started a mini-weight loss challenge within a group of friends in addition to this one, so hopefully that’ll be a good motivator, too! Hopefully I beat all of them lol

    Good luck everybody!!

@red1185 - I love Couch to 5K programs! I was doing the Zombies, Run version for awhile. I had to stop due to medical reasons. I bet with your motivation AND determination you will beat all of them on your mini-challenge.

@MaelynMayhem Thanks for the encouragement! What’s the Zombies, Run program?? See I really like stuff where I don’t feel like I’m exercising, but I couldn’t really find a good one (that’s free!).
I really hope you’re right! I have to do something to get this weight off!!

The Zombies, Run program is more of a story driven program than just a training program. First session is just training but the second you get a taste of the story, third one you have to do something for Able Township where you’re stationed and learning to get better. At the end of each session you “receive “ a gift. There’s some humor in it too. It’s not free but it’s not expensive either. It’s Zombies, Run 5K not to be confused with the original Zombies, Run! app.

So as we figure things out, please try to remember to tag both of us when you have questions. Please join me in thanking Maelyn. I do hope she gets just as much fulfillment from this, as I do. :)

THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!
@AB0215 Thanks for sending out another request. It will be nice to have a partner in case I need it. It truly does take teamwork!

Good morning everybody, and happy losing!! I just wanted to say thanks again for all of the support and motivation. Reading y’all’s replies of encouragement definitely inspire me to keep going. This morning I got up, took my dog on a mile-long walk, and then had a protein-filled breakfast. That makes 4 days of exercise this week, with 1 more to go. I’m super excited (and proud of myself for actually doing it!), and can’t wait to start seeing results!! Y’all are awesome! Have a great weekend!

I know it can be confusing as to what month we are in when the dates cross from the previous month or into the next month. Hopefully, this will help.

For the Biggest Loser Challenge, our weeks start on a Sunday and end on a Saturday.
    THE TIMELINE FOR JUNE:
    Week 1: 6/02 -6/08; Winners Posted - By Mon, June 10
    Week 2: 6/09 -6/15; Winners Posted - By Mon, June 17
    Week 3: 6/16 -6/22; Winners Posted - By Mon, June 24
    Week 4: 6/23 -6/29; Winners Posted - By Mon, July 1

I'll try to remember to post each month. All you need to remember is there are 4 weeks in June starting June 2nd. :) I'm always here to answer questions. Just tag me... @johicks

@red1185 Awesome! Way to start the day... good for you! Yes, lots of support and encouragement here! We look forward to your updates and posts.

@Fivepts - This is the week that gets confusing, as it's the end of one month for us; while others are joining us to start the new month. I'm going to copy your post and put it May... as June doesn't "officially" start until Sunday, June 2nd. No worries- I gotcha! :)

Hi All, My name is Nigel, I am 54 and from Winchester in England. I was an active kid. I joined our Military (Army) at the age of 16 and served 24 years. During that time I was pretty fit and any additional weight that went on and off I hardly noticed. My 6’ 4” frame carried it well. I left the military in 2005 and have pretty much been flying a desk since them. I continue to run and went through a stage of strength training from 2006 – 2015. I have many half marathons under my belt, the London marathon, and various other physical challenges, so I try to keep my fitness up. But I guess sitting down all day has slowly put it on. A couple of years back I was sat at 237lb, I was always around 195 from 20 years thru 40 years.

At my 237 I decided to go for the marathon to give me a goal, it worked I got myself down to 211. From there I was determined to get lower and give myself some wriggle room. In 2015 I got down to 182 and 14%BF and felt great. Was it sustainable, not sure, the pressure of a new job, lack of discipline and pure laziness over the past couple of years has got me back up to where I am today 227.

I know I can lose quite quickly. My worst trait is I am an all or nothing guy, 100% discipline, by best trait is I am an all or nothing guy, 100% discipline.

With a strong following wind, I will be looking to lose a stone + this month. I know my first week will see pretty big losses, I always do when I get my 100% on. Then I will get into the grind and that’s where it matters.

I admit to trying most WOE. Paleo, Juice only, this plan that plan, Keto. And they all worked for me, the common denominator – a calorie deficit. As long as I stay focused and stay under budget the accountability to the group will have me getting results.

Plan is – under budget, moderate amount of running, some weights and have fun.

    Happy Days ahead........

@Red1185 - Great job on your walk, I’m sure your dog loved it too! I’m positive you’ll get the next day of activity in.

@bakay138 - Great to have you on the team!

@Nige1313 - Hello, Nigel! Losing a stone is a serious a goal, and I believe you can do it! You have a solid plan in place!
