I may be wrong but I think May 8 is a national holiday in the UK. VE Day?

AH! Hi, Yooly 😊

Yo Yooly! I was thinking they borrowed some Italian smoke or something :-) Cinco de Mayo was a public holiday in the UK! (Spring bank holiday, what the kittens!?!!?!) but not the 8th or 9th that I can tell!

Dog to vets this morning … cone on for another 4 weeks they say!
Our poor backs of legs!
Had McDonalds coffee with their plain porridge as had to be at vets at some ungodly hour! (8 am on a Saturday !!!)
Little walk in park … coned mut was hilarious …3 -
Poor pup and owners. Reading quickly I thought I read:
Poor pack of legs
Just about spit out my tea :) - what a great way to refer to a down and out pup.
Then I read it again and realized it was the down and out owners. 😜

You two should be happy with yourselves… you trashed my blood pressure reading since I matched Laurie in both snorting and laughing followed by a coughing fit! That better make you two happy!
Poor pup… this sounds like way to much time to be coned!

My daughter made this: Lemon shortbread crust, raspberry jam, raspberries, lemon shortbread crumble on top. Turned out amazing.

I want to adopt your daughter Nic!

But hockey games can add up Yooly… I just want to adopt the baking pan contents! 😋
I guess I will wait for "distant uncle's day!"😝

Hello all from Amsterdam! More correctly, sailing out if Amsterdam harbour…
I landed in London (UK, lest Laurie gets confused 😆) on the 8th, and it was festooned mightily for the 80th anniversary of VE day. Even played Taps and had 2 minutes of silence in Heathrow!
We were there until heading for Southampton on Mother's Day. To board our cruise ship. Having incredibly good weather everywhere so far and having a blast. Trying to outwalk my bad diet lol. Hamsters extremely pleased with themselves. Plan a seak attack on them tomorrow as it is a 'sea day'. We shall see. I'll attach some pics next post.
I can relate so well to all your sentiments and also tea spitting lol.

Nic, that dessert barish thing sounds truly amazing, but the picture didn't come through for me. It's sounds like something I should try making, but only for a family event!!

BLC - have a great trop, sounds fab!

We are going to have to change your name. BC ladybug doesn't seem quite international enough!
Cosmopolitanladybug? Cosmoladybug for short????2 -
Cosmobug but not KozmosBug 🤣🤣🤣
1 -
I’m mighty jealous BC! Have a wonderful vacation 😍
1 -
Is Kozmos not a different version of Cosmos?????? I feel the need for some educating :)
0 -
She's from BC (Canada) = Cosmos, not Biysk (Russia) = Kosmos 🤣😘
Ok, I amaze me I admit 🤯🤣🤣🤣🤣😛
1 -
You amaze me also. :) I thought Kosmos was an anglicized version of the same word in Greek? Both would have been written in the Greek or Cyrillic alphabet.
But then I thought there might be a different meaning somewhere along the lines too!1 -
You were potentially correct, of course, since the Cyrillic alphabet was developed out of the Greek alphabet and you had no way of knowing what the pun making hamsters were thinking. But I have it on good authority that the hamsters in question were thinking of "eastern block" space vehicles!

Sharing my days! …..Bloomin’ eck! ….Been a bit on the wild side here!
The MIL had yet another “turn” on Tuesday - though has rallied yet again … she is such a stong old biddy! So, so poorly this time ….. very near to hospital admission and then all the ethical stuff that comes with being 84…. having advanced Alzeimers .. etc….
She keeps picking up infections which blows up with cellulitis, this then aggravates her breathing and her heart.
Just to think last week , the carers were “complaining” about her going into other’s rooms and knicking their stuff!
So for us has meant all her family and mine were here from every corner of UK requiring beds, meals and taxi -ing about and also had to go to work too,We really thought and were advised this may be the end… she looked so much better last night 💕
So has been a tad chaotic here with no online time for me, as well as too much food and no NHS Laura!
Phew… TGIF and they have nearly all gone now, just MIL’s brother and his wife left.. and they are off this afternoon after we’ve been to see MIL.We are having a nice afternoon relaxing after the storm… Me with Pimm’s and ‘berries! … too hot for ‘owt else! Done then a charcuterie board with some local cheeses… they seem quite happy with that!
( I say hot - 19 oC - so saying that mindfully as I am sure for Yooly, it is more than likely to be scorching there)

Be sure to care for yourself too Creamtea! Absolutely necessary.
Waaay hot here 99F (37C). Forecast for the next ten days is 95+. So much cold foods or going out rather than cooking. Although hubby is cranking out some chicken cacciatore today. I’m having it with riced cauliflower rather than spaghetti.
If I were not sharing meals with hubby - would I make better choices?2
