I've had varicose veins for a long time, they're just more obvious now that they have less flesh to hide in.

Hope the compression eases the pain ….are you thinking of having them stripped?
I’ve got the carpel tunnel syndrome here, wear wrist compression & is working here ….. have been offered the ops, but I am too chicken to get them done …yet 🙄3 -
carpal sucks! it ended my "gaming". But hasn't saved me from MFP community-ing!

Cream, they don't hurt, yet.
I'd probably be looking at something called a stab phlebectomy. I haven't met with a vascular surgeon/doctor yet, but as part of my job I've worked with patient post off from procedures like this.

HEY!
Is THAT what THIS is?????
Have we achieved ID??!?!1 -
Varicose vein. And you, my friend, are the color of skim milk, lol

I made it here! I usually just hang in never never land. Those veins look uncomfortable 😕
2 -
They're not, just unsightly.

Grams had hers stripped, doc said they don't do that anymore so was left with impression nothing to be done. I do ace bandage wrapping when skin is not too frail but can't see how it helps swelling much - swelling seems to overcome compression even.

Hey: if I was going around exposing my inner thigh THAT high up.... little kids would be crying for their mommies!🤣😛

Lol Pav. I'm tan everywhere but where a women's one piece swimsuit covers, so my legs are golden

Finally got back here to finish this post after reading 40 (40!) new posts …sorry to hear about Laurie's car woes and Nic's veins (and PAV's apparently). Came home Saturday evening from our truly fabulous vacation, cruising & visiting Northern Europe.
I can definitely see returning to Norway in the future, great country and great people! Would be fun to do a road trip as there are so many ferries as part of the highway system.
Iceland's amazingness cannot be overstated…the landscape is surreal, and we were incredibly fortunate with our weather so that we saw a great deal of the country. So many fantastic waterfalls!
There are many Geo Thermal vents and geysers - fun fact - the largest is named Gesir, and was the largest in the world before going dormant, and is where we get the name geyser from.
If the clouds lowered or the fog rolled in the scenery was obliterated quickly, never mind the temperature dropping! We only had one partial day like that and we visited the Blue Lagoon and spent time in the incredible church in Reykjavik then, so felt like not a minute was wasted of our time.
I flew home from Iceland yesterday, saw a number this morning on the scale that was rather higher than I had prepared myself for lol, but I *know* flying can play havoc, and it was a 7.5 hour flight...so I was being very good today 😇, and plan to be on point for at least the next few days and will check it again on my weigh-in Wednesday for BodySlims.

They look beautiful!!! I'll have to pick your brain re your trip!😝

I am super jealous of that vacation. Stuff like that is in our future plans. We got 3 kids graduating college (and me) in the next 2years, then freedom!

So BCLady…. once you've got yourself recovered… and I've done a METRIC CRAP TONNE of paperwork… so, with lots of luck…. by July or late August when the days are still long!!!!!!…. maybe I will meander towards a neutral part of town and you can meander towards a neutral part of town and we can "accidentally" run into each other outside a Starbucks or Tim's or Mickey D's :) Willing to buy you a coffee if that will get you talking about your adventures so that I can benefit from your sage advice!!!

Minor annoyance of the day(or days, because I won't eat the whole thing in one day).
I opened my newest container of Good Culture 2% Cottage cheese, which I love enough to eat plain, and it was wetter with somewhat larger curds than usual. This is off-putting. It is edible, but alot more comparable to buying a cheaper brand.
I have a second, unopened, container purchased at the same time. If that one is off too, I am not sure what I will do.

Store return?

May be start or end of run anomaly. Try again later, and hopefully back to standard.
- Call with batch info and inquire if product intentionally changed? Or just an odd one. Might receive coupons in goodwill

Yeah, like I said I will have to see how the second container is, and try buying it elsewhere next time (annoying because I went to the one store specifically because my usual store claims to carry it but is out of stock 90% of the time)

So last week I scratched my cornea somehow. No idea. It started hurting after I took out my contact one night. Thus I spent my holiday weekend not being able to wear my contacts, dealing with pain, and barely being able to look at the light. Had a follow up today and it just is not healing like we originally expected, likely because my eyes are so dry. Essentially what happens is because my eyes are so dry, every time I blink (and especially in the morning), my eye lid rubs against it and reopens the wound.
So that has been my life. Have not been eating great because my eye hurts and it is hard to do much. I sometimes feel like I can't get ahead…

Ouch! Sounds tough. Do they have drops to help? @Athijade
2 -
I have been doing an antibiotic drop (cause don't want an infection in the eye), a dry eye drop, and today we added an ointment to try and help. The ointment is nice, but can only be used a couple times a day. I get shocks of pain rarely, but the rest of the time it just feels dry, irritated, and like there is something in it that I can't get out. While the pain may not be horrible, it is just so annoying and wears on you.

Oh 'jade! I hope it heals well and ASAP!

My Daughter's cat scratched her eye (a loving stroke, but still!) and she used ointment at night for years, then to her surprise it actually fully healed.
True story: my eyesight not great, mostly due to double vision, but much improved after surgery. I was told to use drops regularly due to dry eyes, and one lid not fully closing when sleeping (and ointment initially) but eventually became rather sporadic in eye drop usage…then recently, in prep for being examined for cataracts, I was told to use drops throughout the day, like 5 times or more, for several days prior.
To my surprise (and embarrassment 😁) my eyesight improved a lot! Still need cataract surgery, but you better believe I have kept up eye drop usage min 3 times a day!!
Speaking of the surgeries, both eyes being done in June, plus my brother getting married at my house end of June - so PAV, I would be delighted to cross paths, and July probably best for me anyway!! I'll send you a friend request so we can arrange at a later date. See - the 'friends' function not totally useless now. 🙄

Sounds painful Athijade…. Hope heals soon💕
Full day on at work…. these are the ones where I find fitting the healthy stuff in harder & the urge to resist the quick grab of “grub-on-the go” mentality in order to get back to it!
Thankfully batch - cooked and still in fridge( had youngest son here for weekend & bank holiday and there is still food to be found - miracles do happen! 😂)3 -
hmmm….. missing in action:
@BCLadybug888 (I sent you a fried request yesterday!)
@Bella_Figura (are you hiding somewhere in there?)
And… as always… wondering about status reports from land of cats and honey! @Dante_80
My Nurse Practitioner went for a two week visit to greece with her two teens… and came back with pictures of cats and ancient ruins… but mostly pictures of cats dining with her kids… that would be "very well behaved" stray cats… And azure waters… of course!

I’m here. Just in a funk 😒 and trying to work my way out of it. Unsuccessfully thus far. Weight stable but too high and making nooooo progress.
4 -
Yes. But. Being here is being here. That wins over not being here. Or making reverse progress by not being here. So to be, even if still, still IS progress! And that's not even Shakespeare!

Hi all, my weigh-in Wednesday was a great success, down several pounds and only .5 lb higher now than the day before I flew to London (that's England for you Laurie 😉🤣🙃) 3 weeks ago!
Good thing too, because I am catching a BC Ferry Thurs morn to go to Victoria on Vancouver Island for a few days…come home Sunday evening…very excited to visit Butchart Gardens on Friday, haven't been in years, and spend all day Saturday with one of my bridesmaids (whom I haven't seen in years but recently reconnected over Facebook!). Again, walking and activity hopefully not a problem this trip, but eating might be…
I sent you a request too PAV but app was acting up a bit - I saw your request and accepted, so we are officially friends now 🙂

sorry Yooly to hear you are in a funk. Look what I get when trying to quote your post!
And maintaining, even at a higher number than one would like is still not bad. ((HUG))
ETA Here is a screenshot of what I see, but was invisible when I looked at the post!
