    Great progress this week.

    Age: 40
    Height: 166cm - 5'5''
    SW: 177.8 kg - 392 lb - 64,5 ΒΜΙ (May 2020)
    GW: 69 kg - 153 lb - 24,9 ΒΜΙ

    LW: 104.8 kg - 231.0 lb - 38,0 ΒΜΙ
    CW: 103.1 kg - 227.3 lb - 37,4 ΒΜΙ
    Variance: -1.7 kg / -3.7 lb / -1.62% TBW

    OL: 74.7 kg - 164.7 lb - 27.1 BMI in 463 days

    Weight class projections:

    Official weigh day: Saturday

    Height: 1.55m
    Age: 56

    Start Weight (17th March 2021): 96.0kg - BMI 40.0 (obese cat 3)
    Last week: 81.2kg - BMI 33.8 (obese cat 1)
    This week: 80.2kg - BMI 33.4 (obese cat 1)

15.8kg lost, 23.6kg to go (40.1% towards goal)

Big loss this week (by my standards) so some of that may be water loss (went on a 16 mile bike ride last night and sweated lots as it was pretty hot and humid); so it's possible I'll bounce back up a bit tomorrow or it might even itself out over the next week, and I may not lose next week. A bit of mystery keeps things exciting!

Progress feels slow, but then I remind myself that I've had two ten-day vacations in the last two months, and that makes me feel a bit better. Even with the vacations (where I'm not really tracking), I'm still losing, just more slowly than planned. And all things considered, that is pretty good!

back to officially weighing in today, and am grumbling a bit at seeing 259 back on the scale. I had seen a low of 257 earlier this week, but water weight.....

Of course, last week, I saw 270 right after vacation and while PMSing, so its nice to know I've dropped a significant amount of water weight already and am back into the 250's, but I need to really work at it this week to get to a more comfortable low and make sure I stay squarely in the 250's. Then start working at getting back to my all time low of 220 :(

Meanwhile, the hubby is making great strides, and I'm very happy for him and proud of him! I just have to sternly tell myself to not compare and judge myself based on his progress. He's just starting out at a higher weight than I did, he's male, and he's taller than I am, all which mean he's going to drop weight much faster at this stage than I am. He has 100 more lbs to lose at this point than I do, so its going to come off faster for him at this stage than for me. Plus, he can comfortably afford to lose 3-4 lbs a week at this stage while I need to be holding myself to 1.5 lbs/wk. So brain, quit looking for an excuse to condemn yourself!

I regained about 20 over the winter this year, and am still working on dropping it. It was just maddening to have to lose the same pounds all over again. I'm down about 10 now, and finally am not so frustrated when I step back on the scale. You'll definitely get back down - stay patient, and don't let it get to you. Don't compare to your husband, and don't compare to where you were before. You've got this!

Retaining a ton of water from salty foods and extra exercise yesterday. (I'm so thirsty lol). It'll drop off again, hopefully still in time to see an even lower number on the scale this month.

Me too - tired of playing around! My goal is to get back to my lowest weight - less 2.8 pounds! 165. I'm starting to think that an "extreme" month might be okay. For me, these days, a "moderate" month brings on acute "I"m starving" mentality - and a binge. So I might as well try to get some serious weight loss in before that hits????

    I haven't been here in a while ...
Started August 2020 at 290 lbs.
At of this morning I weigh 219.8 lbs.

Current loss is 70.2 pounds ! I'm actually still up 2.5 pounds from vacation last week I'm hoping to get below what I was before vacation by Friday morning! I can do this !
I really would like to get to 80 pounds lost in August for my 1 year on this journey !
When I get to that I won't have much more until I make it to onederland!

This is probably about the end of this month's loss cycle. I think I might have one more drop once my hydration evens out (I'm so thirsty). Not dropping as fast as I want (ugh sub 200 feels SO FAR AWAY), but again, I survived another vacation and still saw some loss. And that is success.

    Pretty significant success!!!

Thanks Laurie! I appreciate the encouragement! It doesn't always feel like it...still another 9 lbs to go to get to where I was last year (I'm still mad I let myself backslide so much. I'm about where I was this time last summer). I try not to let myself think about where I'd be if I had just stayed on track last winter. So I keep reminding myself of the wins.
    1. I caught the regain before it got any worse (it was about 20-25 lbs, depending on who's scale I used).
    2. I didn't get discouraged at the regain and give up completely (and gain it all back, like many previous efforts). Instead I jumped back in and have been steadily losing since May
    3. I had to adapt to a surprise new way of eating in June (very low saturated fat), which meant some of my usual go-to meals and foods were quite literally off the table.
    4. I survived 2 vacations with family with limited to no food tracking, and managed to still lose some weight each month.
    5. Even though I had some regain, I know that this is sustainable long-term, even through major life stresses (pandemic, the decline and loss of my grandma, complete re-org and downsizing at work and surviving multiple rounds of layoffs, etc...).

Looking. On. The. Kitten*ing. Bright. Side.

Oh, I got a bonus scale drop today, ending at 201.4

I think there's a lot to celebrate there! Just catching the regain before it got worse is a HUGE victory (said by the woman who lost 40kg and regained 36kg of them...). You should feel really proud of what you've achieved, especially when real life throws challenges your way.

Wasn't expecting to see that this month!!! It has been a minute since I've seen a number starting with a 1 (last fall, specifically, and prior to that....12 years?) and boy does it feel good. I definitely wasn't expecting this month's drop cycle to last so long (or to end up where it is!). I know it will float around here for a while, especially since we'll be on vacation in another week and a half (including a long flight - hello water retention and Anchorage!). But man does it feel good. I've almost caught up to where I was before and can start making new progress again.

Wow, well done! And it’ll be so great when you start making inroads into virgin fat!
