Morning! So happy to be here in August!
I recently read two of Dr. Sara Gottfried's books about hormone balance, mental health and gut health. I also read Better Than Before, by Gretchen Rubin. These are prompting me to make some quick and permanent changes, namely giving up sugar and refined carbs (pretzels, chips, etc...) I am not someone who can be moderate with these foods; I need it to be a habit that I don't eat them at all, so I can stop spending time and energy thinking about if I should or should not eat them. Now is the time for me. Me and my health (physical and mental) are WORTH MORE than those foods. I have not had any sugar (save fruit-I will cut back on that in coming months) since Sunday. Next up is the junky carbs. I will focus on those two things for all of August! I feel great!

Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? YES (don't look! just a train wreck)
Something Positive about myself: Yesterday, was going good, until I just let the stress of the past week get to me... ate good all the way through dinner... then the booze creeped and well the rest I just really do not want to describe! The positive part of this is, I stayed accountable, wrote everything down... ugh!
Today is a Re-Boot! Reminding myself that booze is just a temporary fix... next time I just need to get out for a nice long brisk walk!0 -
Decided to do a side by side today.

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, 90 minutes walking around downtown Franklin with my niece. She's going home tomorrow so back to my normal eating and exercising schedule. Loved having her though!

Exercise? Nope, no intentional activity.
Under calorie budget? No - but went to one of my fave restaurants with an old friend and was surprised at how I held to some healthy choices and only went over by like 500 rather than 2000 like I would have before!
Tracked everything? Yes, probably overestimated some of the food cuz it was restaurant stuff and I didn't know.
Something positive- I get to see the results of good choices!1 -

Good Day! Ate well. Did the blood work for my physical next week, so I'm hoping my numbers are good.
My weight hasn't changed much in the past 3 days, but I know I've been eating well within range, so I think we'll just ride this out for a couple of days. It's not a race, it's a journey!2 -
