    Today's personal goals:

Weigh and measure all applicable food: I suspect my portion sizes have been creeping upward.

Make dinner: Chicken piccata, orichette pasta. (I'll make brussel sprouts steamed and tossed with a little butter and sea salt for Boyfriend and Girlfriend, but I can't eat them.) Garlic bread: a half a mini-loaf, sliced and toasted.

WOW!! For me, that would be about a week's worth of tasks! LOL I'm back to more strictly weighing and measuring as well. Barely 3 weeks done and started slacking a bit ... so back to strict basics this week. OMG ... love Chicken Piccata with capers!! If we weren't in Lockdown, I'd ask for a dinner invite. <grin> ??Live in Michigan by chance? ? he he he he :p

    Let's see:
Meals to cook: Pulled pork on buns or in a wrap, depending on tastes, with chips and dill pickles for lunch. Fettucini alfredo with diced chicken and pan-seared zucchini and garlic bread for dinner. Boyfriend says that he doesn't miss eating pasta if he gets those chunks of zucchini with a ladle of Alfredo sauce over top, and chicken, so he always gets pan-seared zucchini when I would have pasta.

I usually go to the grocery store and do other local errands on Thursday, but there are few errands to do in the shutdown. I will look over next week's menu and make a list and make sure I have everything from the list, and that will tell me if I need to go to the store or not.

I'll clean out the car, too, and sweep the front porch and make sure the back patio is tidy. We also put the trash out on Thursdays for the Friday morning collection.

Probably should explain. The reason I have to break the cleaning chores into small chunks is twofold. First, with compromised lungs, I can only expend so much effort, then have to rest. Second, since major surgery a few years ago, I've had a bit of vertigo. If any chore means I have to tip my head back, I have to be extremely careful and make sure I'm well-anchored and balanced ... and can only be in that position for a few minutes so have to make the most of it. It can be a pain in the patootie, but guess we all work around our own issues to get the job done.

@tinkerbellang83 My granddaughter (29) lives with me. She found my seed stash, bought several packets of her own. Purchased several cactus, snake plants, and pothos. This past weekend she spent hours both days planting seeds in mini plantable cups, repotting grafts from all the other plants, etc. She's so excited about all she did she took a dozen pictures and posted in her Facebook. Me?? I'm keeping fingers crossed at least some seeds germinate, and that her plants don't die. LOL

    Let's see:
    Meals to cook: ...
I'll clean out the car, too,.

A friend gave me about 20 homemade flour tortillas ... OMG they are so good!! Anyway, I suggested to granddaughter that I was going to make fajitas and enchiladas. She told me not to bother for her because she doesn't like them. OKayyyyy! So, I make a small batch of 3 enchiladas. She came home as I was plating mine, 1-1/2 enchilada on a large bed of chopped lettuce, tomato, red&yellow bell pepper. I swear her nose started twiching. LOL She said "hmmmmm, maybe I'll just try the 1/2 one ... and then also ate the larger one as well!! LOL

Well, Darn! Hadn't thought of that but now I need to add cleaning out car onto my list as well. :p

Luckily I was just putting some purchased scented geraniums into pots a week or so after them arriving in the post, figure if they can survive inter-country travel, they will survive a new pot with a little extra compost. They smell divine, I've been trying to track them down in Ireland but had no joy whatsoever, finally managed to find a place that sells them in the UK and dispatches to Ireland. I have 2 lemonbalm scented ones, an orange scented one and choc-mint scented one. The lemon ones remind me of my grandmother as she used to have two in the house when I was a kid, I was forever rubbing the leaves.

I just like to have a regular day to handle the detritus of living that winds up in the car. Even if I don't take it and wash it and vacuum it out, knowing that there will be a day where I'll actually get the trash out from under the seat and take that paperwork inside means that by and large the car stays pretty clean.

I know, right!! I have to of the large brown paper bags with handles that I keep on the floor on the front passenger's side. One is for general trash; the other for recyclables. That has helped a lot with cleanup. I still have the general flotsam that collects on the passenger seat and backseat to cleanup. I used to just toss all trash onto passenger seat and floor. Having the collection bags really has helped. It's also less embarrassing when someone needs to use the passenger seat because I can quickly relocate two bags and the other stuff on the seat.

How do you like your new Moka Pot! What did you use before? Can you make just a couple of cups? How do you think it compares to your previous method?

I haven't used it yet just ran the water through it to clean it so far, I am not a coffee drinker normally so only really used machines at work, both as a barista and in office canteens, I bought this purely to make espresso martinis at home now that my flat mate moved out and took his Dolce Gusto machine away with him. I don't think anything beats a traditional coffee machine for making espresso but a friend got a moka pot and made some pretty good martinis with it. Plus when we're allowed to have company I will now be able to break out something other than instant.

Taking it one hour at a time and so far so good...I got my well earned IBS this morning from over indulging the past couple of days...I have eaten very light today as my stomach is very queasy...I promised myself I would not do this again but here I am suffering because I ate too much...hopefully tomorrow will be back to my newer normal...
