@sleepymom5
Forgot to say I will check out the podcast if I can figure out how to do that. I"ll google it to see how to do it.1 -
Friday 10/18 check in
Food: logged but over. Did ok earlier in the day. Went out for breakfast with some co-workers after work. The restaurant we went to offers breakfast, lunch or dinner anytime. I made a good choice of a salad with grilled chicken and strawberries, pineapple and slivered almonds. It was very good. This evening just kept eating, not really unhealthy things, just too much.
Water: 48 oz
Exercise: rest day. Lower back is still bothering me a little and I've had a cold this week and it is making me extra tired today.
I've made my grocery shopping list, which has lots of fruits and veggies on it. I plan on going tomorrow.5 -
@Cafelelia
Great job on focusing on the positive! I know that's really hard. That's great your husband and kids are picking up good habits!
It's too bad that it can't be a short term thing but you're right, weight loss is a long journey and then it becomes weight maintenance after that so definitely a life long thing.
I've never made it to the maintenance part before but someday I will get there and so will you and so will the rest of our team.
So what, if it's slow. None of us put the weight on overnight so we can't expect it to go away overnight.
One day at a time! All of us can do it!

We had a close friend pass unexpectedly Wednesday and there are a lot of things up in the air about custody of her children so I've been eating everything around. I will work harder this week on controlling what I can but also taking care of myself.7 -
Good day today! Got on the exercise bike for 30 min and did 30 min of PT. I did more than the usual PT exercises,I figured I should do whatever I can when I am home. I still have to set up PT here. Tomorrow I have the Sunflower Festival with my friends so I am leaving early. I am sure I will check in quick before I go. Hope everyone has a fun weekend!
@pacsnc6 The state fair sounded like fun! Sounds like you picked something healthy for lunch and split a treat. With all that walking it sounds like it was a good day! Funnel cake is my favorite too! Sounds like a fun day!
@lennoncpa The scale is moving in the right direction! Nice week!
@Cafelelia Plateaus are frustrating! I love that you focused on the positive! Look how far you have come just since September! You really are inspiring!
@Julie8468 You are actually down over a pound from the beginning of the month. You are doing great, especially with all you have been through lately!
@Barb1557 Nice loss!! Enjoy the visit with your granddaughter. Sometimes they have a little party there with pizza and cake. I am not sure if that is the case for you but just incase you need to plan. You are absolutely right. You have no control over what other people say or do. Just focus on your cute little granddaughter and don't let anyone ruin your time. I will be thinking about you-Hugs!
@amsandos Sounds like you are doing well. It was good that you went to the gym even if it was closed. It is good to get yourself into the habit. You also have to listen to your body sometimes, sounded like you needed rest. Hope you have a nice weekend planned!
@hope002 Nice loss! Looks like things are going well!
@tryingagain5 Sometimes it is hard not to overeat, especially after a long week and if you aren't feeling well. If this seems to happen a lot, why don't you try to have a plan for something else you can do. Maybe call a friend or go for a walk. Or maybe have water instead or a piece of fruit? The same for when you go out. If you seem to go to the same restaurants, have something off the menu you can order so there are less decisions you have to make when you are tired or really hungry. You can even look up menus before you go somewhere. I know it sounds easy in theory but it is hard to implement. You have to just think of how far you have come and where you want to go. You can do this! I won't be too much of a help with how to do the podcasts. It took me a while to figure it out. If you can't figure it out from youtube, let me know and I will try to help you.
@KatAdele I am so sorry to hear about your friend. How sad, especially when she has children. Sending prayers and hugs. Try to get yourself back on track, this is a hard time not to eat with all that is going on. You aren't helping anyone eating and you have come so far so you don't want to ruin your progress. Hang in there.3 -

We are all here for a reason. Ty for all the teams being supportive. 👍👍👍
October's the new January and the time for New Year's resolutions might be right around the corner.
@Navydaddjtc Our leader and I look forward to what we have rolling out for the team in the next coming months to the New Year!
Gratitude to input from a few inspirational teammates for their input into November @confidentraven and @ kdv12! You both are awesome.

5 for 73
1) Journal/Bible/insight timer. Yes! Daily time for me.
2) Exercise: Barre 1 hour and 10,000k steps
3) Hydrate yessss 😘
4) Trigger food. I don’t want to think about it everyday. I replace It with what nutrients I can give my body.
5) Gratitudes. I love this! It is so easy to hard on ourselves. You need to love and respect yourself where ever you are at in your journey. I was the fat kid growing up. I give gratitude 🙏 that I wanted to change Both Mentally and physically. I am thankful we are all here to change for the positive together.
Let’s get excited, like our leader @Navydaddjtc had said about NSV and cool things coming!
All the best! 💃👏🚧💃👏🚧💃2 -

Checking in
I was in heaven yesterday when my son asked me if I wanted to hold Holly while they checked in to the toddler Playland.. Her smile melts my heart. I was not able to help them climb into the giant inflated slides but they did a great job. My daughter in law answered my questions with one sentence, but never spoke to me. It was hard seeing their morning pictures on Facebook where they took Holly for pictures of eating her birthday cake. I was not invited. As we left the Playland I was still hopeful that I would be invited to dinner or back to their home for cake, but there was silence. I had presents for Holly, which they knew, so I went to my car and got the three bags and walked them over to their car. Zack said they had something for me, a piece of cake I thanked them, but said I really should not eat sugar. Zack let me hold Holly again, but her mom thought it was too windy, so it was cut short. I got in my car and drove to the grocery store and bought chicken and broccoli instead of pretzels, ice cream, and beer, Yeah! I cooked a really yummy stir fry and called my friend.
Today is a beautiful sunny crisp fall day, perfect for my walk and transplanting flowers with my friend. I am treating myself to 2 mugs of coffee this morning with fat free creamers and pumpkin pie spice7 -

@sleepymom5
Thanks for the tips and encouragement. You're right, I do need to focus on how far I've already come and not how far I have to go. (I've been told that before and do know I need to do this)😁
I'm stronger and healthier than I was before I started. I'm wearing some smaller clothes.
I'm going to start focusing on just one day at a time.
If I can't figure out the podcasts, I"ll find someone who knows how to do it to help me.
Feeling more positive today!3 -
@nstephen01 mentioned you want to hit your goal by thanksgiving. I have decided to join you. My weight is creeping back up. I am giving myself 5 weeks to lose 7 pounds. Starting today.

I am finally over my cold! It is my birthday tomorrow, so my husband is giving me a break from hockey stuff, and I was able to sleep in this morning (well until 8:30 am, which is really late for me!). Also treated myself to a mani & pedi, which was really nice. I will likely have two meals out for my birthday, one tonight and one tomorrow night. I have a plan for both meals and we are going to restaurants that have lots of healthy options.
@Barbb1557 - Family issues are tough, and you did great just to show up, participate and be positive. Congratulations on staying focused on the positive afterwards and today! That is one of the keys to success! Sending you a big hug!
@sleepymom5 - Omg onderland! Congratulations and you’ve got this!! Daisy is adorable! I would like a makeover like that too!
@Zumba_Luvah - Amazing!! Congratulations! Whatever you are doing, keep doing it!
@tryingagain5 - You can do this and glad that you are feeling more positive today!
@Mrsbell8well - Oh, I have missed your chart! Maintenance is also a journey and you’ve got this!
@kristen11872 - Hang in there, and don’t get discouraged. Hope that you have a great day!
@hope002 - Great day yesterday! The hot yoga must have been amazing! I have done a few 24 hour fasts, and much to my surprise, they were not that hard and I felt amazing afterwards. Hope that you had a good experience with it!

I have 7 pounds to lose also! Let's do this @mrsbell8well!!2 -
Daily Check In: Friday
Food: Pre-Logged but went over
Water: Great
Exercise & Steps: yoga class; 4,977 steps
Steps were low because the weather was nasty. Quite windy and it couldn't decide whether to rain, sleet or snow so no dog walk. Did make it to my yoga class. Was extra hungry all day. Probably hormonal as I'm PMS'ing big time. Ate as planned during the day then went to sushi for dinner. We ordered an obscene amount of food and ate it all! I never really felt over-full which is a little disturbing. Am I that out of touch with my body? I just felt like a bottomless pit. My dad left to head back home to California yesterday. Transitioning to hubby being home has been a bit rocky. Everything he does irritates me. Again, probably just hormones so I'm biting my tongue. I'm sure I'll like him again in a day or two LOL
Weight has been up the last 2 days. Time to get serious as I want to be at maintenance before the worst of winter settles in. Thanks for joining me @mrsbell8well!
My plan:
Pre-plan meals with focus on protein, fruit/veggies & whole grains. Log every bite.
Snack based on Dr. Greger's daily dozen list
Some form of exercise every day no matter the weather
Drink plenty of water
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!5 -
Saturday 10/19 check in
Food: logged and under
Exercise: 20 minutes low intensity
Water:48 oz
The cold I have kicked my butt today. Coughing, not at all hungry, (had to force myself to eat today), just all around tired. Slept 10 hours last night, napped almost 2 hours this afternoon and plan on going to bed early tonight.
My lower back is still causing me issues. Seemed worse today, possibly because I didn't move too much.
Managed to do some laundry and get groceries but that was the extent of my activity for the day, other than my 20 minutes exercise earlier in the day.
Physical health not so good today but emotional health better. I looked up some motivational quotes and took screenshots of them. I'm going to look at them everyday. I also have some pictures of me when I was at my heaviest and my lowest weight and plan on looking at them everyday as well.4 -
@Barbb1557 I am glad you were able to spend time with your beautiful little granddaughter. I hope in time her mother can be a little more welcoming. I think it is great that you went even though you knew it would be uncomfortable. Do they live nearby? Can your son and granddaughter visit without her? I am glad that you declined the cake, made a stir fry and called your friend rather than emotionally eat. That is awesome! Hugs! Now about this pumpkin spice coffee...Do you actually use pumpkin spice?
@Zumba_Luvah WTG!! Awesome loss!! What have you been doing differently?
@tryingagain5 Yes, one day at a time! Look for positives too! I like the idea of the motivational quotes and the pictures. Those are great ways to stay motivated! You are doing great! What kind of phone do you have? I will try to help with the pod cast . I have had a cold since Denver and it really does knock you out! Just listen to your body and rest. Can you do any stretching for your back? I know when I don't do my PT stretching I can feel it.
@Mrsbell8well You got this girl!! 7lbs is nothing for you!!
@kirsten11872 It seems like you have been back working out but not as consistent as usual. Are you still doing WW and IF? I need to see your kick butt elliptical workouts to motivate me! Lol! I do think of you every time I see one.
@hope002 I need more info than that! Lol! A 24 hour fast AND 75 min hot yoga AND a 45 min walk? How did that go? Were you dragging? Very impressive day there my friend!
@Cafelelia Wow! Thanksgiving AND your birthday in such a short amount of time! Happy Birthday! Enjoy the dining out, the pampering and the extra rest! You deserve it!
@ihp2015 Nice loss! Hows it going busy lady?
@nstephenson01 I still have trouble with being sure when +2 is. Sometimes I don't think I am there just to feel stuffed later and sometimes I feel like I eat a lot and it doesn't register. Maybe sometimes we are just need more fuel than other times? Maybe because it is your TOM you may need a little more? Idk, just a thought. I am glad that you had a nice visit with your father. Hope he is home safely by now. I also am pretty sure the PMS isn't helping with the hubs Lol! I bet he won't be as irritating in a few days Lol! Will he be home for a big stretch now?

Sleep late to bed but got a lie in
I have been reading Roar by stacy sims. It is about aligning athletic training and diet to female physiology. It has explained so many things. As much as I love corienne I think her tough love stance isn't always helpful as there are underlying physical causes for certain things. That is not to give excuses not to change but if you understand the causes change can be smoother.4 -

@sleepymom5
Thanks! I looked at the quotes/pictures several times yesterday and already this morning. I'm sure that's going to help. I figured out how to do a collage on my phone so it's 3 pics side by side.(2 from my highest weight and 1 from my lowest) If I can figure out how to post them here, I"ll do that sometime.
My phone is a Samsung J3V. I did check YouTube yesterday and found several videos of Phit and Phat but most were an hour long. I"ll have to watch/listen to them when I have don't have anything else going on. Is it normal for a podcast to be that long?
I've definitely been getting a lot of rest this weekend. Feeling a little better this morning. Not great but at least a little.
Yes, thanks for the advice on stretching for my back. I did some yesterday and I think it helped a little. I plan on doing some more stretching today to see if it will help some more. I need to remember to do some stretching everyday.
I hope your cold is getting better. Keep up with your stretching exercises too!2 -
@sleepymom5 The only thing that I'm doing different this time around, is I'm not doing a vigorous exercise 3 or 4 times a week. Normally when I try to lose weight I cut down on amount of calories I eat and I'll do zumba or tae bo 2 to 4 times a week. This time all I have been doing is cutting down on calories. I mean I'm moving around plenty, with cleaning every day and playing with the kids. My usual is between 12,000 steps and 15,000 steps.2
