Week 2
Weigh In Day: Sunday Nov 10
Previous Weight: 132.8
Today’s Weight: 134.2
Ugh I’m sorry I’ve been such a bad team member lately - I’ve been checking in every day, but not posting much. I start out my day well, tracking breakfast and remembering to take my prepped lunch to the office, but then I get so busy and stressed out at work that it all goes out the window. I’ve been pretty good at sticking to my calorie goal, so I’m hoping this gain is just due to my TOM. I leave for Mexico in just over a week and had hoped I’d be lower than this...6 -

I've had a bad week of LOTS of Halloween candy and on my period. Hoping to cut it out with the candy soon and need to get back to counting calories...Just a few months ago I was weighing in at 180...WHAT happened!! 😭7 -
Daily Check In: Saturday
Food: Didn't log, planned to be over
Water: Good
Exercise & Steps: 30 minute dog walk; 13,771 steps
Spent the day moving and spreading gravel so pretty physical work most of the day but went out for sushi for dinner so I'm sure calories for the day were quite high. Slept horribly last night... probably because I ate too much. Can feel the sodium in my body today. Made a pasta dish the other night for dinner and have been eating the leftovers for lunch. That stops today... tossed the rest of the leftovers. Meals are planned and logged for today. Need to make a plan for the week.
@tryingagain5 I think its Phit n Phat also that says if you don't want to eat an apple you're not hungry. Its a good test for hunger vs craving or some other feeling. I've been preparing some type of fruit in the morning so its readily available to eat in the afternoon when I'm looking for something in the kitchen.
Congrats @Mrsbell8well!! You continue to inspire me!!
Forgot to say WTG @sleepymom5!!! Welcome to wonderland!!
We have hubby's Cowboys playing tonight and my undefeated Niners tomorrow night so two nights of lots of football watching. Hope everyone's having a nice Sunday!!5 -
Ended up not going to the bar last night. I was tired and not feeling up to it. Which is good because that means I didn't drink. I didn't even finish my dinner either. Went to the gym today for my early morning Zumba class and half way into the gym they started evacuating because of a gas smell. I hate missing Zumba but I guess that's a good reason, lol. I came home and went for a walk but it was a little chilly out there so I only did 2 miles instead of 3. After I ate breakfast I did go back out there and get some raking done but my neck and shoulders can only take so much so I cut it short. I might do a little more meal prepping today but I want to binge watch some of my shows I haven't been able to watch or read my book.4

Daily Check In: Saturday
Food: Didn't log and over
Water: over 64 oz
Exercise & Steps: None and very low
My string of good days was broken. I did well with my cousin's visit. I should have went home when they left but we were having such a nice time that we stayed. I ended up drinking more than my 3. I didn't do too bad with food. I just had two meals there which wasn't planned either. This bar thing is new to me and I have to be honest, it is a little cool to get special treatment. I also like having Shannon serving me lol! Also a lot of people who go there we know and it is nice to see everyone. I guess that will wear off.
Today I am already off to a slow start. I have to re do my cleaning plan since I didn't do what I was supposed to do. I am first going to do my planning for the week and then get to work. Today won't be too productive either. My priorities for today are planning, exercising and staying on track. Hopefully a little cleaning too. Hope everyone has a great day!
Congratulations to our team for 3rd place!! WTG!!
Congrats also to our honorable mentions @amytriesww and @julie8468 who are also in first 1st and 2nd place for our team! Third place goes to @Cafelelia! Awesome job ladies!
@ljdanny what a productive day you had yesterday and with watching the little one! What a great start to your day already. I love how you went right for a walk when zumba didn't work out. Enjoy your binge watching or book. Sounds like a perfect Sunday!
@kirsten11872 I have done that twice in the past week! After all the time you put into it too! Ugh!
@lennoncpa I liked @Mrsbell8well 's suggestion above. Don't forget to try to drink first too. Incase you are thirsty instead of hungry. Are you sure it is hunger and not just an urge to eat? Maybe you need to increase your calories on the days you burn so much from your workouts. I hope you can find a solution soon. I know it frustrating for you. Hugs!
@tryingagain5 Those newborns are so tiny! I am so glad you had a nice time and got to spend time with your little cutie! I think your unplanned meal was pretty healthy. I am trying to figure out my reasons behind eating and a lot of the time it is like you said. I just wanted it. I am glad you enjoyed it. I have heard that apple thing before with the hunger and it is so true. I try to remember that too.
@cyndiesstuff I am glad you are moving on. Overeats and going off plan happen. Just dust yourself off and try to learn from it. Enjoy your day today! Sounds like fun
@Mrsbell8well Look at those stars getting filled in! You are doing great! Your lunch looks delicious!
@cafeleia I love how you consistently set yourself up for a great week! I am sure the work today pays off when you are tired and running around during the week. Enjoy that Sunday dinner tonight with your family.
@twyla77 You are not a bad team member at all! I am glad to hear you are still reading the posts daily. You don't need to always post something. I don't want checking in to be a chore. That being said, checking in does help. That gain could definitely be from TOM. How are you doing with planning? Do you plan your day. Sometimes that can help with the end of the day going off plan. Sometimes it doesn't either. I struggle with this too. Mexico will be fun! You still have a week to get down a little. You can do it!!
@CassieGetsFit2013 I know it is hard but do not think about how much you have gained. You have been through a lot and the important thing is mentally you are doing better than you were. I know when you are focused, you do very well. Why don't you make up a list of the healthy habits you used to get to 180. You did it before and you can do it again. How about exercising? Are you still walking dogs? Remember with everything, be realistic. You may not be able to jump right in and do everything you used to. Little things add up. Just make little changes at first. Halloween through New Years is a tough time for a lot of us. I would try to get the candy out of the house if you can and ask if whoever eats it to put it away somewhere. I used to have my kids put it in a tupperware container in their rooms. Sometimes just being out of sight is helpful. I know you can get back to where you were. Don't be too hard on yourself and get back on track.
@nstephenson01 I love sushi. I was crushed when I found out it wasn't as low calorie as I thought. It is still pretty healthy though. I am sure the sodium from that is why you are feeling it today. Sounds like you have a good plan for today! Looks like you already have your workout in and meals logged. Enjoy your football!

I'm trying SO hard right now to not eat anything and wait for dinner. I have 880 calories left and I'm determined to stay within that limit! I haven't counted calories in MONTHS, this is my first day doing it! I'm tempted to give in, cause I just found out my Grandfather fell and the police and ambulance came to help him up, but they took him to the Hospital cause they think he sprained or broke his ankle...He already has bathroom problems along with bad legs so if that's the case of a sprained or broken ankle, I'm sure they will want to admit him. It's been so hard seeing his health decline this past year...I know he's depressed and lonely, he never leaves the house anymore and I miss him.8
-
@CassieGetsFit2013 You can do it Cassie! Starting back is always hard. You will get back into the swing of things. I am sorry to hear about your grandfather. I hope his injury isn't too serious. Is he close enough for you to visit him?1

Sunday 11/10 check in
Food: logged but over
Water: 64 oz
Exercise: 30 minutes at home
I was doing well today until I went to my book club tonight. I wasn't planning on eating anything there but ended up having too much of the meat, cheese and crackers and some chocolate. I still need to work on not eating when I'm not really hungry. Sometimes I do okay and sometimes not.

@sleepymom5
my treat meal is a turkey salad with 1000 Island dressing, which is made by the local restaurant, chicken rice soup and hot fudge cake. All together it's a little over 1700 calories for the meal. I guess really the only unhealthy part would be the dessert. If I eat only fruit or veggies for my other meals, I can fit this in my daily calorie goal. It only becomes an issue when I eat a lot of other things too.2 -
@nstephenson01
That's great that you prepare some fruit in advance. Makes it easier to go for the healthier options.
I find I don't do well if I have to cut up the fruit or veggies myself so I end up paying more for the items that are already cut up. Since I know this works better for me I'm ok with paying more and actually eating those items as opposed to them going bad before I got around to cutting them up myself.3 -
@tryingagain5 I have difficulty with snacks that are out. I noticed this summer that if I am somewhere with snacks out, I just can't stop myself from eating. It is actually embarrassing. I need to move away or just bring something with me that wouldn't matter if I ate too much. Just curious about your treat meal, did you ever think of not eating all of it? Maybe start by leaving a few bites of each course. The next time maybe eat 3/4 of each course. I bet you are still full and you can still have your treat meal. Just something to think about.1

Daily check in Sunday:
Water not enough
Exercise-cleaning and yoga
Food-good
The house is as clean and organized as it’s going to get. Very pleased and ready for the holidays. I even completely emptied moms freezer and fridge and scrubbed it down. It was a nightmare. 2 large black bags full of garbage. But now it looks nice and she’s almost ready for the holidays too.
Skylynn has school today. I’m going to pick up mom from Davitas at 1 and take her to lunch and thrift store.
Starting day with yoga, cleaning out the trunk of my car, working on cookbook and planner. Not my usual kind of day.
Friends gave us a big box of Stayman apples. Made the best ever apple pie. First time I have ever added cloves. It was delicious. And I only had one small piece. Friends coming this weekend and celebrating my daughters boyfriends birthday. We’re planning a trivial pursuit playoff.6 -
I have been thinking about my weight loss journey. Maintenance has been an adjustment. With “dieting” you have specific direction. Once you get there it’s pretty easy to fall into old habits. I know how to lose weight but still learning to maintain.
Here’s some tips that have worked for me:
1. Post daily
2. Get enough sleep
3. Exercise 5 days a week. Preferably daily yoga, cardio at least 3 days and ideally strength 2 days. Still working on that.
4. Set goals that are realistic. For me 1/2 to 1 pound a week is realistic.
5. Track my success. Star chart works for me.
6. Eat for health. I focus on clean eating and organic produce as much as possible.
7. Allow treats when earned. No goal met, no pie.
8. Drastically reduced sweets and alcohol.
9. Asked for support when feeling week or tempted.
10. Focused on one pound at a time.
11. Assessed health needs. As a result gave up caffeine, went vegan, reduced salt, sugar, oil and alcohol.
12. Weaned myself off over the counter medication. Switched to peppermint oil for headaches. (Rarely get them now. Used to be daily)
13. Wear clothes that fit. Spent a lot of time at thrift stores buying and donating. There are no “fat” clothes in my closet.
14. Willingness to be odd, to eat differently than everyone else, willingness to feel deprived or sad or lonely. Accepted that it was a temporary feeling.
15. Stayed stubborn stayed on course.
16. Switched up as needed. Counted calories, did different dietary variations, tried IF, fasting, cleanses. They all work. Found what I needed for that week/day.
17. Planned ahead. Brought my own food. Ate ahead of time. Asked restaurant to make mine vegan. Called ahead. Looked at menus on line.
18. Collected delicious recipes.
19. Accepted the journey. Never gave up.
20. Honored my commitment to myself and to this group.
It’s still an on going journey. I want to say that it has been fun. But it has not been fun. Satisfying and completely worth it yes!!!
My health is the best it has ever been. My clothes are so tiny and cute. I love being skinny but mostly I love being healthy!!!
Good luck everyone! We are on a worthwhile journey.7 -
Sunday check in
Food - logged & on target
Water - 1.5 l
Exercise - 7k steps
It turned out to be a busy day yesterday, getting groceries and a lot of prepping & cooking. I decided to try a nyt recipe for a classic beef stew for the guys. It turned out great, but took about twice the cooking time than the recipe stated. Could be the type of stewing beef that I used, which was grass fed. What I don’t cook, I prep, so I also washed and cut various veggies, fruits etc. Anyway, I got it all done, but it was a longer day than anticipated. We are getting hit with a snowstorm today, although it does not look too bad so far. It is still quite early for this & the leaves are not even off many of the trees! I will be driving to hockey later & thank goodness I got my snow tires on early this year!
It is Remembance Day here in Canada and the UK and Veterans Day in the US. We wear poppies here as they do in the UK. Will be observing the 2 minutes of silence at 11 am.
@mrsbell8well - Thank you for those insights into your weight loss & journey! I really liked the point on willingness to be odd. Sooner or later, we do stand apart with our healthy choices or not partaking in things like communal fries, wine, nachos etc. Or we feel like we are denying ourselves when others are indulging. It’s a really good point because I think that social pressures and norms can play a big part in our choices.
@tryingain5 - I can completely relate to the book club temptations. As I was just mentioned above, I find these social situations hard. As Pam was suggesting for your treat meal, rather than planning to go to book club and not have anything, maybe first just plan to have a little less. I know it is not easy! Btw, I buy some cut veggies too, not all but some for salads, and also some cut frozen veggies for soups & stews. It just makes things a bit easier.
@Cassiegetsfit2013 - I am so sorry about your grandfather. You have been through a lot in these past months, so try to be kind to yourself and take it slowly. Don’t give up and you can do this! I had a bad summer with reinjury and almost gave up too. I am so glad that I didn’t. When you feel like quitting or feel down about things, you can always post here to vent or get advance. Big hugs to you!
@sleepymom5 - Hope that you had a great day yesterday. I think you show a lot of restraint with your husband’s bar. If my husband had a bar, omg, I think I would be there a lot! When I am meal prepping for the family, I think sometimes think about you when you had 5 kids at home. I honestly don’t know how you did it. Not just the food, but the laundry, homework, schedules etc. Honestly, just feeding my teeanager sometimes feels like a full time job!
@ljdanny - That is terrible, getting to the gym and then it is evacuated. You made the best of it though with your walk! What are you binge watching? We are looking for some new stuff to binge on.
@stephenson01 - Hope that you made a nice plan for the week and enjoy the football!
@twyla77 - You are doing all of the right things and the scale will catch up. Mexico! Hope that you have a great trip! Will you be at a resort?

Daily check in Sunday:
Food-logged and under
Water- over 80oz . I forget exactly Lol! I drank a lot.
Exercise-30 min stationary bike, Strength, stretching and PT
Steps Not good, only 4K
Back to doing good. Steps were a little lower than I would have liked but my knee was bothering me. I am not going to lie, I wore cute booties with a little heel Saturday to the bar thinking it wouldn't matter because I would be sitting most of the time. I am guessing that was the problem. I am also going to not take Advil today unless I need it. I actually forgot to last night and I still slept ok. I just want to see how I feel. I would love to be done with it. My doctors don't seem to be concerned but I just don't like taking so much. There was something else I wanted to tell you ladies but I forgot. Lol! I am heading down to exercise from here. Today's plan, exercise and fall clean. Mk and her roommate are coming for dinner, I am making "skinny" chicken parm. It is baked, not fried. Depending how things go, I may run out and get zoodles. They are stopping by because her room mate hurt her finger and wants me to look at it and clean it up. I actually think it doesn't look bad at all and they can do it themselves but they want me to look at it. It will be nice to have them for dinner though. Hope everyone has a great day! New week-let's make it an awesome one!!
@Mrsbell8well I know that you have told us throughout your journey what you have done but than you for taking the time to put it in a list like that. You have totally turned your life and health around. You are inspiring! Btw-apple pie sounds amazing! That is my favorite
@Cafelelia I feel like a wimp with all of you who really get hit by snow. We are probably going to get a little tomorrow and I have my day planned around it already so I don't have to go out. Lol! You seem like you are so consistent with your Sunday prepping and planning. I guess you have to be with all the running around during the week. It was tough with 5 kids at times. I did plan but not like I do now. I wish I knew then what I know now. Things would have run a lot smoother lol! My needs would go way back on burner as far as exercise and how I looked etc. Someone came up to me at the bar the other day from my kids grade school and told me he didn't recognize me. That actually made me think how I probably should have taken care of myself a little better back then. I also worked weekend night shift so I was home during the week with them. Thats why my heart always goes out to our night shift workers lol!
@jedaschultz I think because we are so close in weight I get super excited when you go down! Lol! That would be an awesome loss to begin with but to think that you were away too!! Amazing my friend!! You keep paving the path, I am right behind you. Whoo hoo!!3 -
@ljdanny what are you reading and what shows are you watching?0

Sunday Check In
Food - at goal
Water- 36 oz
Exercise - 35 minute walk and rolling dough for perogies
Steps- 10529 steps
Had such a good time yesterday. Jim's daughter in law announced she is pregnant! I did not over do it on food and I did not have any alcohol. I drank 2 diet pops. I slept like a rock last night. I am very thankful for that. We are getting the first real snow storm of the year here in Michigan. it has been snowing since about 5:30 this morning. gonna be a crazy commute home.5 -
@sleepymom5 I joined the digital Weight Watchers program on Oct. 8 and have been doing really well with it. They just put out a new program today and it looks even better. I have been on myfitnesspal for 7 years and I've just bounced back and forth about 10-15 pounds. I need to get a little more serious with getting this weight off. So far so good.4
-
Here’s what I made on my day off. Outside and inside. I don’t remember who suggested it but great idea!!! The countdown begins. I have some really cute butterfly stickers to use each month.2 -
@Mrsbell8well I'm reading a James Patterson book. He is one of my favorite authors. I was binge watching my favorite show General Hospital. I have been so busy I have not been able to watch. I have tons of shows on my DVR, I'm trying to catch up, lol.
Last night I made some lunches, snack and breakfast for the week. That's a win in my book. I made some ham and eggs cups, I overcooked the eggs a little because I forgot I was cooking, lol. But they were not that bad. I just ate a big salad with steak tips on it, only very little dressing, that will take a bit to get use to. No exercise this morning, we will see when I get home. Unfortunately my work is not closed today, I know a lot of these parents are not working today but here there kids are but that's ok, they pay for it. A lot of staff are off today or out sick. Hopefully the bug doesn't start going around. I sure don't want it especially with the baby at home.5 -
@cyndiesstuff Nice job yesterday! I am glad you had fun and stayed on track. Congrats on the new little one! How exciting! Safe travels today with the snow.
@Mrsbell8well I didn't realize how close you are to retirement! That is awesome! I love the countdown calendar
@ljdanny You made me Lol with the eggs. I thought I was the only one who has forgot they were cooking! Lol! Nice job getting prepared for the week. I am so nervous about getting sick before this wedding. There is so much going around.2 -
Monday Check In
Food - logged and under

I am checking in early because tomorrow I have PT early. It is my first appointment for my hip here in Pa. Then I have some running around to do, walk Charlie and then continue cleaning. The weekend pushed me back so far but I got a lot done today. I need to keep up the pace.
Great day today as far as food, exercise and water. I still need to get some more steps in. I hope everyone had a great day and I will check in when I can tomorrow.3 -

Monday Check In
Food - at goal
Water- 36 oz
Exercise - 40 minute walk
Steps- 8546 steps
It snowed all day yesterday. We've got probably about 9 inches of snow this morning maybe 10. I shoveled snow when I got home from work yesterday. Along with my 40 minute walk. My food was on track. I need to increase my water. That is going to be my goal for today. To get my water increased to 50 Oz instead of 25. That's going to be my step for this week. I've Incorporated my half-hour walk every morning it has become habit. Without a doubt I do it everyday. Now I need to incorporate the drinking of the water and make that a habit. So that is my goal for this week. And when it becomes a habit I will add something else. I'm glad to see everybody is working their plan and has it given up. We all know how hard this can be. But we've done hard things in our lives before. We can do this to. Make a commitment with me today. What one thing will you do today to make a difference. Every day matters. If just for one day. You accomplish your goals. You have proven to yourself that you can do it. When I get to work I'm going to look up the four circles of the goals. Maybe we should come back to that and really revisit how what we do everyday will get us to our goal and it really is just one day. Have a great day everyone I will talk more later to you guys. And remember above all else smile! It looks good on you6 -
Daily check in Monday
Water not enough
Food good
Exercise yoga
Had a really nice day with old folks. We went to lunch then shopping and thrift store. I’m using loden green, a coral type rose color, violet, butter yellow as my new accent colors with black and ivory as neutrals. Picked up some cute new things.
Bought some pansys and the last good mum. Helped mom with some things she needed ordered. It was a good day.4
