WEIGHT NO MORE - NOVEMBER CHAT

@cyndiesstuff do you think the cold weather triggers your pain? sorry -no ideas on how to fix that
@lennoncpa I find certain foods trigger my hunger too - especially breakfast foods, I don't gt so hungry in the morning when I drink an instant breakfast though.
@Mrsbell8well love the sweater it looks really warm1 -
It's freezing here in New Hampshire. I skipped my zumba class last night and it takes a lot to make me skip. I was just so cold. I also took out steak and chicken last night because my husband does not like chicken well I labeled the package wrong the chicken was actually Hamburg. I was a little disappointed. So I took out the package I have labeled hamburger for tonight's dinner and I'm going to assume that's where my chicken is, lol. That's what I get for putting it in tin foil. I always use freezer bags but had run out. I have been doing well with my eating I think so hopefully there is a little loss on the scale this week even with the lack of exercise.5

Daily Check In: Tuesday
Food: Eh
Water: Good
Exercise & steps: 6.5 mile hike; 18,791 steps
Exercise and water are great. Food not so much... I do well all day and then over eat at dinner. This is becoming the new normal. Weight is up to 168 this morning. November hasn't been the best month for me scalewise. I can't out exercise my evening mouth. I may be adding muscle which is good but its a number on the scale I'm really wanting as my November goal.
Finishing my 3rd glass of water... off to take the dogs for a walk. Stay warm everyone.4 -
Hello all & Happy Hump Day! It is freezing here, we did not get any snow, but the cold temps are enough to deal with! The sun is shining which helps! It is National Be Kind day, so try to be extra nice if you can, lol
Yesterday was very successful! I feel great! I stayed on plan with my food & exercise. I got home from work, it was so cold, I started talking to my sons & my son's girlfriend. I could have easily put on my pj's, ate dinner and relaxed for the night, but I decided that is not going to get me to my goals. I got changed and headed to the gym, and got my hour done on the elliptical. It felt good to sweat! I brought a protein bar with me to eat in the car on my way home so I could start my fast as early as possible. I got home, took a hot shower, made a cup of tea and watched some TV. The scale was good to me today!
I keep reminding myself of how I will look & feel in a week, month, year if I stay on track. The days, weeks & months go quickly. I should be at goal by now, but I will get there! Like @Mrsbell8well I am determined!
@tryingagain5 good for you for donating blood, I donated a few months ago, my job had a blood drive.
@Mrsbell8well cute & cozy sweater! It looks great! Good for you that you feel & look better than in your 20's! Your food always sounds amazing!
@cyndiesstuff feel better! Sorry you are in a lot of pain! You really push yourself, a lot of people would crawl into bed and make excuses!
@lennoncpa I am not sure that oatmeal would make you feel hungrier. They say it is one of the best things to eat. I am sure you try different things to stop the hunger. I drink lots of green tea to hold me over while I am fasting.
@sleepymom5 the weather people love to make a big deal about anything, even some flurries, lol. We didn't get any flurries. It is freezing again today! Stay warm!
Aiming for another successful day! I have planned well & should be able to stick to plan. I usually workout at home on Wednesday, so that is the plan. Go home, change and get my workout done so I can relax.
Have a wonderful day!3 -
@jedaschultz let me know how the Purple Plan works for you. I am liking being back on Green. So far so good. As long as I get results, I am staying with Green! Good Luck!1

Tuesday Check In
Food - logged & on track
Water- 1.8l
Exercise - 9K steps (painfree again!)
I had good day yesterday. It is really cold here too. It all happened so fast! I had some errands to do this morning. I saw a young guy stopping to help an older woman with a walker navigate an icy patch on the sidewalk. It is very heart warming to see stuff like that, I have to say.
@kirsten11872 - Congrats on the great day yesterday! One hour on the elliptical is awesome!
@nstephenson01 - I feel like eating extra at supper too these days and I am wondering if the cold weather & darkness is triggering something for me. Like maybe I just want to put on pounds and hibernate for the winter! Great exercise though!
@ljdanny - I can totally relate to wanting to stay in and skip class. Maybe you can make it to Zumba today?
@lennoncpa - Maybe the oatmeal is expanding your stomach? Or maybe it is not satisfying you nutrient or otherwise? I guess it depends upon how much oatmeal are eating. You are such a kind mom to your foster dog!
@Mrsbell8well - Love the sweater! I really is sweater weather now, isn’t it! I do not follow Courtney or the Vivienne files but will look them up. Is this internet, or Facebook/Instagram? Yes, that is a turquoise fridge. Over the past decade, we have renovated our 110 year old house, bit by bit. We are almost done & doing the outdoor space next year. I have designed/chosen most of the stuff myself. My husband chose the fridge & we love it!
@cyndiesstuff - I am sorry that you are in pain, and it is amazing that you are staying focused through it! I love your green water bottle!
@sleepymom5 - Thank you for that lovely quote! I really needed it today. Great day yesterday and glad that PT went well! I know you have a lot to do before the wedding. Are you able to get cleaners in to save yourself some time and stress? I have this group of retired ladies (I call them the Greek Grandmas cause that’s who they are, really!) that come in every once in a while & help me out with deep cleaning. I wish that I could fly them to you! I will post a few kitchen photos in a separate post.
@tryingagain5 - I think it is ok to have a treat in your plan! I get it that it is hard to stop the eating once having started. I wish that I could fly the Greek Grandmas to you too! What book are you reading for book club?
@CassieGetsFit2013 - Hope that you feel better soon! I am so sorry about your Grandfather. I hope that he is doing better too, and that you get to visit him soon. It is really tough when our loved ones experience illness and difficulties in old age. Am praying for him and you too.
@phoebe112476 - I love your attitude towards this small gain! Just not making much of it as you are on your routine. I really need to use that phrase for my next maintain or gain.

@sleepymom5 & @mrsbell8well - here are some kitchen photos. These were taken right after our reno 2 years ago. It still looks the same, but my kids put their stuff everywhere now. This particular reno was a challenge to say the least, but we love the end result & stayed on budget. We found the brick wall & arched doorway under some drywall. We decided to put the fridge in the arched doorway to give us space for a big island. At any party or gathering that we have, everybody ends up in the kitchen around that big island! You can’t see the inside, but in photo 3, we have a deep flip pantry with double the storage. We also have a few drawers that are refrigerators/coolers, which is good for drinks & bottles.

@Cafelelia your kitchen is beautiful! Love it! That is the truth, everyone winds up in the kitchen, lol. My place is not big, my kitchen is small, but if I ever move, that is one of the main things I'm looking for, a big kitchen and at least 2 bathrooms!2

@cafelelia I thought your refrigerator was the cutest and than I saw the rest of your kitchen... beautiful!! Great steps and pain free... yahoo. That's a really big deal... So happy for you! Ya know you may be right about the cold and short days. I hadn't really put the two together. I think I am in hibernation mode. And OMG I think we all need a team of Greek Grandmas!!
Great day and what tenacity sticking to your plan @kirsten11872. I like what you wrote about reminding yourself of how you will look & feel in a week, month, year... good advice. I need to keep that in mind!
@ljdanny my husband hates chicken also!! I thought I was the only one!! I mean who hates chicken?!?! LOL He'll only eat it if its disguised to not look or taste like chicken. Makes dinner options challenging.
@lennoncpa I had always heard that oatmeal was a healthy, filling breakfast but when I eat it, it doesn't sustain me. I get hungry again quickly. Maybe its the carbs?3 -
@cyndiestuff Were you ever able to get your chair at your new job? I know you said that helps a little with the pain. I am sure the cold weather makes it even worse. It is awesome you are staying on plan with the pain you are in. xo
@Mrsbell8well I love your sweater. You are so close to your goal! Keep it going?
@lennoncpa Poor little Jimmy. I am glad that he finally pooped. Idk about the oatmeal. I would think that would fill you up. Why don't you try not having it and see what happens? Keep us posted. Now you have me curious.
@jedaschultz Lol! It is an excuse I also use when it is cold. Hope you got back today. Those Leslie Sansone videos are good for the cold weather.
@ljdanny It is so cold here, I can't even imagine what it is like up in New Hampshire! Hope the frozen meat is the chicken lol!
@nstephenson01 You know it could be muscle but if you haven't been eating on plan it could be that too. The cold weather and holiday season is starting maybe you can get into a new routine for the evening. Maybe drink a glass of water before? Or have extra veggies? You can do this!
@kirsten11872 I am glad you pushed and went to the gym. Ended up being a successful day and like you said that scale was in your favor today. Keep it going, you are doing awesome!
@Cafelelia That kitchen is beautiful! I thought that was your Marie Kondo cleared out kitchen Lol! Makes sense that it was after the renovation. I love that you have so much storage too. That is awesome! I am glad that you are getting all those steps in pain free! All that hard work in PT is paying off. I was thinking about getting cleaners. I am going to see how much I get done tomorrow. I would love to have the greek grandmas Lol! I bet they do a great job!
@tryingagain5 That is basically a maintain! Don't let it derail you!3 -
@Cafelelia wow your whole kitchen is gorgeous!!! Really love the fridge.
@kirsten11862 yes you are so right!!! Time goes by soooo fast. I vividly remember weighing 202.8 on the scale. And from then on cherishing each pound that went bye bye. That’s a really good point. If we stayed on track it’s amazing how fast the results add up to where we want/need to be.
Molly wasn’t feeling too well. Had to eat dinner alone. I would love you all to join me for some pozole.
2 -
Pozole. Mexican soup with hominy.
I would love to form a list of favorite books. If anyone is interested post maybe 3 favs and I will compile a list to post.
Currently reading “where the crawdads sing”3 -
@Mrsbell8well it looks delicious! Hope Molly feels better!
I left work late, got home & dinner was ready. My mom cooks on Wednesday’s, we live in a 2 family house, so she’s right upstairs from me which is nice. Now I’m sitting here, knowing I should get changed and do my workout as the minutes pass. I’m losing my motivation. I ate really well today and got in over 12k steps already. I’m making excuses, lol.
Hope you have a good evening! I’ll post tomorrow if I worked out. To be continued...😉3 -
Wednesday 11/13 check in
Food: logged and on track
Water: 40 oz
Exercise: 30 minutes with the community walking group
My day was a little off today. Had to bring my car to the dealership after work so got to bed a little later than normal. Didn't get enough sleep today so hopefully I can stay awake all night for work. It helps there are lots of bright lights. At 2 in the morning, for all I know, it could be 2 in the afternoon. There are no windows on the production floor so until you go out to the breakroom you wouldn't know the difference.
After getting my car back, I went straight to the walking group. The dealership can't find anything wrong and don't hear what I hear. Frustrating! The car is only 2 years old and I've only had it since June. It's still under warranty, which is why it has to go to the dealership. Normally I'd take it to my regular mechanic. I'm planning to stop there on Friday and make an appointment for them to look at and see what they think and then go from there.2 -

I've had a bad week of LOTS of Halloween candy and on my period. Hoping to cut it out with the candy soon and need to get back to counting calories...Just a few months ago I was weighing in at 180...WHAT happened!! 😭
I completely understand! I was down to 187 in the middle of June and by the end of August was back up to 202. My own fault but still frustrating. Now I'm at 193 so still not where I was. Don't give up! You can do it!1 -
@cyndiesstuff
I like your ideas on can't and will. I've gotten started with writing my cans and wills and other goals and meant to post them but haven't. Now I'm sitting in the parking lot at work and don't have my paper with me.🙄 I"ll have to post them this weekend.2 -

My church has a blood drive every 56 days and I try to give as often as possible. I have a rare blood type so I'm sure it can be used.
@Cafelelia
Beautiful kitchen!
It would be nice to have someone clean for me but it's not something I could afford to do. I just need to start doing it. My mom was a neat freak and when I was a kid I had to do a lot of cleaning every day since she had a lot of health issues. I didn't like doing it so I think I kind of went the other way and now don't do it nearly enough.
Book club is reading Christy right now. I had some time to read tonight so now I'm on page 90. Still a long way to go to get to the end but I'm enjoying it.2 -
Wednesday 11/13 check in
Food: logged and under
Water: over 96 oz
Exercise: 15 min stationary bike, 15 min walking, PT, stretching and strength
Steps-over 8,500
Another good day. I am pooped, I have been running all day. Tomorrow I am hoping to be able to stay home except for PT and walking Charlie. I can not believe the wedding is next Saturday. Where does the time go...
@Mrsbell8well That looks yummy! I have to think of my top 3 books...I will get back to you. I am drinking apple cinnamon tea right now(your recommendation). It is so good!
@kirsten11872 I hope you got to the gym. Maybe you should have something to do at home in case you don't feel like going back into the cold. I know a few of us were doing the Leslie Sansone videos last winter.
@Tryingagain5 That is so nice that you donate blood so much. I need to do it. I was good until I had little kids running around. They are grown now so I should get back into it. Hope you have a good night at work.3 -

After contemplating, I got into my workout clothes, then something went wrong with my Fitbit. I called support and I was able to reset it, back in business! At 9:30 pm, I decided, no excuses and I did my workout. Finished a few minutes ago, glad I did it!
@sleepymom5 I only go to the gym on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, the other days I workout at home.6 -
@kirsten11862 I’m so proud of you. I write it on my calendar and it makes me feel like I have to do it. Not always easy but I try to make it a given vs a choice. I have a late meeting tonight then going to gym. Trying to coordinate but I’m not sure what city my meeting is in. Might have to do some tweaking. Busy day today. I have my annual review with my boss.2

This is one of my new tops. Its a silky soft cotton. It has a cap sleeve and is longer in the back with a sheer edge. Those ivory pants are my brand new Talbots pants I bought a few weeks ago. $100 pants with tags for $3.99. Wearing this today. Hope I don’t freeze.5 -

Wednesday Check In
Food - at goal
Water- 50 oz
Exercise - 40 minute walk
Steps- 8066 steps
The weight gain this morning was expected. When my pain is high and inflammation sets in, I retain water. My goal for today is to drink my water and get my steps in. I did some journaling last night. And some serious reflection. I am 52 years old. I have over 30 years left of my life. Do I really want it to be spent struggling with my weight and eating? Of course not. So this is my motivation for today. I am going to act as if today. Just for today, I will smile for no reason. I will be happy with where I am at. And with tenacity and perserverance I will keep moving forward. Today is my day. It is the day I act as if.
@nstephenson01 it sounds like you and I having a I don't give a s*** party in our heads. we know how it works we just choose not too. what are you saying to yourself when you go off plan. that's where your work is. I am going to try going back to basics. I am going to consistently tell myself this is my plan and I can stick to it. I have set an alarm on my phone to go off once an hour so I can stop and tell myself I am sticking to the plan. It is my plan. I will accomplish what I set out to do. Join me in getting your mind back to believing you are a success. Because you are Nancy!! you are...…
@Mrsbell8well I love love love that chunky sweater. and that floral dress!! you are truly a beauty!! I am working on channeling my inner Angelina today.
@lennoncpa what do you put in your oatmeal. I don't think oatmeal in and of itself can cause cravings. but maybe what you are putting in it does!!
@pacsnc6 I have not been able to find any rhyme or reason to the pain spikes. It can be beautiful out and my pain will flare. it is a mystery!!
@Cafelelia you kitchen is beautiful.. I use to have a frig like that, except it was white.
@sleepymom5 yes, I bought my own chair and a sit to stand work station. it has helped a lot. I got tired of waiting for my boss to buy it so I bought it myself.
@tryingagain5 are you in Michigan? I live in Michigan. and like you, I hate to clean. I sure wish someone would do it for me. For free of course. LOL

TOM arrived yesterday... a week early 🤦♀️ At least now I know why I was feeling so off this week and am not as worried about this gain. Expecting a better 2nd half of the month. Errand running day so gotta get moving... will catch up on posts this afternoon4 -
Hello and happy Thursday everyone.
I just took Jimmy for a little walk to get his system going and his little feet froze up and I had to carry him for awhile. I’ve tried booties on these little chihuahuas and they don’t seem to stay on very good! I rubbed his poor little piggies to warm them up then he was able to walk again and do his business!! I think we were both relieved 😀
@cyndiesstuff I usually just slice up a banana in my oatmeal and I occasionally use a little almond milk. Each week I’ve been making up a crockpot full of oatmeal and I’ve used up my stash for this week, so I’m going to stay off it just to see if that might be an issue @sleepymom5.
@stephenson01 I guess I need to find out if oatmeal is the culprit and if it is I will need to find a new food to kill my cravings. I’ve been really craving sweets lately and I’ve been off all sweets since last November. I’m really glad because otherwise I would probably be eating bags of cookies every day! As soon as I think about eating sweets I immediately think of you guys and I don’t want to have to come on this community page and say that I broke my commitment to myself! If I started eating sweets it would be floodgates opening. Seriously- I have such an addictive personality!

Hello all! It is another cold day here, but it is supposed to warm up in the next few days. The sun is shining which is nice.
I'm feeling good! Yesterday was another successful day! My food was on point and I worked out, it was late for a workout, but I did it, and felt so good when I was done. Got in almost 20K steps!
I packed my food for the day and I'm going to the gym after work. I am really hoping for a good weigh-in on Saturday. The scale stayed the same this morning, but I usually see a few pounds drop after staying on plan for a few days. I definitely feel less bloated. I feel so much better when I stay on track, I'll say it again, I do not know why I go off plan.
@Mrsbell8well I agree, when I put stuff in writing, I tend to do it. I posted it here and then felt bad for not working out, so I did it. Love your pants suit!
@cyndiesstuff great attitude! I hope you are feeling better today!
@lennoncpa your poor dog! My puppy does not like the cold either. I take him out, let him do his business and get right back in the house. We are still training him, it is not easy, so he still has accidents in the house.
Have a great day! It is almost Friday!!2
