I lost zero weight last week. No cheating or anything so I guess it's a stall.

I went to amazon to order some more of those steam in bags. I need to slow down and read when I order online. I now have HUGE bags of broccoli and green beans instead of the single serve bags I thought I was ordering. Totally my fault. I have enough bags for now but thought I should order since almost everything is coming mid May now. Well, guess what, those bags are apparently essential in Jeff Bezo's humble opinion.
Break down the bags into smaller amounts so you only have to pull out what you need. I made chicken soup yesterday and beef stew two days before. I have one more crock pot liner left. I’ll have to check my local store to see if they sell them. I got the current batch at Bed, Bath and Beyond. I won’t be going there any time soon.

I can’t believe your sister took your graduation gift idea. It would be different if she’d asked you if she could use your idea. Is it possible she forgot where she heard the idea for the tote bag. The director’s chair sounds like a lovely gift and it actually more original than a tote bag.

That's what I'm doing. Can' freeze any because I'm totally out of freezer space. But I think I can get it all eaten by the "use by" dates.

I got two headbands from amazon. One is too tight. The other I like. I tried pulling all out my hair back into the headband and hated it! So I got out my scissors and trimmed my own bangs. Heaven knows I've seen Julie do it for 30 years (give or take) and she doesn't exactly take a lot of time doing it.

I mentioned I cut my bangs about two weeks ago. When I wash it and blow it dry, it looks pretty good. I don’t think anyone can tell I cut it myself. When the rest of it needs trimming, that’s another story.

I’ve never had much luck wearing headbands. They always give me a headache if they are tight enough to stay on my head, but most are too big for me. I can’t keep an adult woman’s hat on my head either because they are also too big for me.

It’s possible my sister did forget that the tote bag was my idea. She often forgets that she’s told me things before and repeats the story, and it had been a couple of months since we had talked about graduation gifts. In the end, I really think my niece will love what I’m getting her, and it is actually about half the cost of the tote bag, so I guess I’m coming out ahead on the deal. For graduation gifts or wedding gifts I like to find something that’s more personal than a gift card or money, although I know most people like to get those. Especially for a family member, though, I like to give something they will have for a long time and hopefully remember where they got it when they do use it.

Headbands? I ordered some from Amazon after Maryanne mentioned it, but I think I'll be like Pam and never use them. I despise something on my head.

Haircuts? My hair isn't growing as fast as it usually does or perhaps it is wishful thinking. I could be tempted to trim it to get it out of my eyes when it gets to that point.

Food? I wonder how scarce it will become based upon the scare caused by the closing of that plant infected by the virus.

I have a cardiology appointment for Monday. They called today and said it would be conducted by phone. I sent them an EKG strip from my home machine, along with my current vitals, as well as those measured at the Primary's appointment in early March. My arm is really screaming tonight, so I can't wait to see the ortho. I have the MRI results so the question will be what lies ahead?

Good morning. It is a beautiful, sunny day. I am having instant oatmeal in the apple/cinnamon flavor for breakfast. My accounts are looking good. The refunds from United and American airlines hit my credit card. Now, I just have to do a "wait and see" about the prepaid Australian hotel where we got fabulous digs overlooking the Harbour for the price of a simple hotel room with a city view. I think they are going to let me rebook it for a later time but are considering a refund but I have to wait until later to contact them.

I'm up but can't say I'm raring to go. For some reason my anxiety is really high the last 24 hours or so.

Trevor Noah made a biting comment about Kellyanne Conway’s comment about Covid 19. She said there will probably be other versions by fall because we’re on #19 already. Apparently she didn’t know it was named Covid 19 because it first appeared in 2019. I guess she must have just pulled her head out of the sand so she didn’t know the origin of the name.

DH likes to watch the History Channel. Last night, he had on a show called Eating History. Two guys have collected very old and unique foods. They open the packages, smell it examine it and usually taste it. It was laugh out loud funny. If you need a laugh, try and episode or two on Demand. One of the items they tried was a forty year old bag of Fritos that a guy found in his garage and sent to them.

Those pics of LA really tell the story about how much pollution is generated by cars and manufacturing.

Maryanne, I’m sorry you’re feeling so anxious. Any idea what is triggering it, besides the obvious?

Jean, that’s great news that the airlines gave you full refunds. Hopefully, the hotel will be as generous as well.

Helene, I tried those crock pot liners once but didn’t have very good results. I don’t recall whether mine leaked or exactly what the issue was, but I remember that I didn’t like it. I usually just try to remember to spray my crock with cooking spray before the food goes in and rarely have any issues with clean up. Of course, DH usually does the clean up and he might have a different answer, lol!

Helene: I had to explain to someone what the letters and number represented. I guess many are in the dark.

Pam--I tried those crock pot liners but didn't have much success. I also pray lightly and have
    little cleanup.

I’m sure that’s true that many average people don’t know where the 19 comes from. But it seems reasonable that a spokesperson for the White House should be aware of the derivation of 19 so she’s not giving false information. She said on national TV that Covid 19 wasn’t Covid 1, but was the 19th version.

Helene--What we once expected to be knowledgeable if coming from the White House is sadly no longer true many times. Reminds me of a principal we had once whose mission was to divide and conquer. He tried to convince all new teachers that those with experience knew little...and they worshiped every word where true or not, and never took time to check the information. They assumed a lot and were often wrong. How long does it take for a person in a responsible position to check info?

Jean - those "rules" are funny because they're so true.

Her husband's organization has, for the first time, endorsed a Democratic candidate for president. How are they still married????

I confess I didn't know that the 19 was for 2019. Never paused long enough to wonder.

My sister commented once in passing that I am lucky I missed the family anxiety curse. The truth is that most of the time I just suppress it better than the rest of them. I have no idea why it reared its ugly head yesterday.

For the first time ever I just used electronic filing to extend CROM's information return. I think it was $15 well spent. I know the site is legit because the IRS has helpfully listed all the legit sites on its own website! Since I'd probably pay $10 to send it certified mail, I figured it was worth it to not have to brave the post office.

I was just googling how long I can keep mozarella balls. Daggone Amazon Fresh just today delivered some with use by dates of yesterday.

I don't want to be on that show. LOL!

Thank goodness our governor is listening to science and common sense and not other Republican governors or Trump or Fox News:

Wednesday, Gov. Larry Hogan announced that as of 7 a.m. Saturday, Marylanders are required to cover their faces when inside a retail establishment or using public transportation. He also said the state’s recovery phase would be heavily dependent on increases in Maryland’s testing capabilities, hospital surge capacity, supply of personal protective equipment and contact-tracing operations.

According to Vanity Fair, Fox News is “bracing for a litany of public-interest lawsuits and letters of condemnation for pedaling misinformation for weeks prior to coronavirus’s explosion in the U.S.”

We can only hope. DH made a comment the other day. His legalese was off but what he was referring to was the fact that the first amendment doesn't permit you to yell 'Fire" in a crowded theater. That's a pretty established legal principle. I'd like to see someone try to make that case against Fox news.

Maryanne, do you and your DH have masks? If my sister is caught up on her orders, I’m sure she would be happy to send you some if you need them.

Thanks! Because DH is a medical person he actually has a supply so I think we're good. He even has some N95 masks but he doesn't think either one of us would be able to breathe very well in them.
