I didn't sleep in but got up super early. This enabled me to do a task I've been delaying. I now have the new organizer shelves put in the enclosed porch. I am not a "happy homemaker" so I do it when the motivation hits.

I just finished 51 minutes of pedaling while watching part of a 600 Lb. marathon which is a rerun of the new season. I must be getting adapted to this as my heart rate is gradually dropping while doing it. I burned 191 calories which is not enough to take care of breakfast.

I haven't tried the NS pancakes but I really like the Wonderslim pancakes.

Midnight is giving me that "I want a treat" look.

Several of mine try to jump up on my desk for treats/attention. I use the computer air to discourage. But now Jack's doing it and after all he's been through I just can't discourage him. So right now I have a large black cat on my desk!

I slept in this morning as well. I usually wake up around 7:30 but today I didn’t open my eyes until 8:45. I guess I needed some extra sleep.

Today I’m doing laundry and maybe some cleaning. I noticed yesterday that my tables really need to be dusted. I absolutely hate dusting, so that’s one chore that I put off as long as possible. When I was a child dusting was always my chore, so I suppose that is where my dislike stems from. We lived in West Texas where dust storms were almost a daily occurrence, so dusting had to be done frequently. That isn’t an issue where I live now, but I still hate dusting.

    I dislike cleaning. Period.

Apropos of nothing. Linda Spangle has a new program. I'm tempted. An email a day might get my attention. And it's cheap in January.

I didn’t get up until 8:30 today too. I have my second load of laundry going and I’m picking up clutter. If I get really ambitious, there’s always vacuuming

Linda--I have that 100 Days of Weight Loss book. It was good but stored on my original Kindle. I just had it transferred to the Kindle I am currently using.

I've got the book. It's on the shelf. I'm hoping a daily email will get more attention. We'll see how long this lasts. LOL!

So true! I mean we do everything for them and they just sit there regally accepting it.

    That looks like our Sammy.

Pam--Where cats are concerned, we know who is in control; it isn't us!!

Maryanne--That is a good price but I'm trying to watch my expenditures. It may not last, but so far I'm doing fine with the food and exercise. Because of the age and metabolic level, I may not lose much but I'm focusing more upon healthier habits and the cardiologist wants me to exercise.

I work tomorrow so I won't be posting until the evening.

I lost a pound last week. Headed in the right direction at least.

Maryanne--Congrats upon your weight loss. I remember using those tickers. They are great visual reinforcers of the right direction you are going.

I had an eye doctor appointment today. For the past few weeks I’ve been experiencing an annoying pain in my left eye, which is the eye that had a retina detachment about 9 years ago. The doctor today confirmed that there is an issue and secured an appointment tomorrow morning with the retina specialist who did the surgery on my eye. I’m not sure yet, but I suspect it will mean another surgery on that eye to remove the “girdle” that was placed in my eye to hold the retina in place. Apparently it is rubbing against part of the conjunctiva of my eye, resulting in an extremely thin place. I don’t know if they can put something else in its place. I guess I’ll have more answers after tomorrow morning’s appointment.

In other news, my cousin who had the brain tumor and 2 subsequent surgeries is back in the hospital and not doing well. They can’t determine if he is having strokes or small seizures. So far they have run dozens of tests and scans but have no conclusions, which is extremely frustrating for all of us.

And my friend with cancer has been readmitted to the hospital. The family has not provided much information about why, only saying she has had better days and they are requesting no visitors at this time. I really feel she doesn’t have much time left.

Sorry to be such a downer, but it’s been that kind of month for me.

Don’t apologize for the negative news. It’s helpful to have a place where we can share life’s stresses and feel supported. I hope the surgeon can repair your eye. Technology has advanced so much in 9 years so he may have better options for saving your sight.

That’s sad news about your cousin and your friend. If your friend does have little time left, it’s a comfort that you were able to reach out to her while she could know you were there. I hope the doctors can figure out what’s happening with your cousin and that they have some treatment to offer.

I hope everything goes okay with the eye. I see a Hopkins retina specialist routinely and I know it's not fun but oh so important. My sister and I have both had retina issues even though neither of our parents did. Funny how much of adulthood you can say that about - not fun but necessary.

How sad for your friends and family that folks have taken a turn for the worse. All you can do is be there for those who are open to it.
