Yippee! Lost a pound! I got a scale at home now... so since it is not my usual scale at the gym it might be off but I’ll take it!
Sorry I haven’t posted or supported the rest of the group. Besides California being on “safe at home” my mom with Lewy Body dementia is not recognizing my Dad (her husband for 55 years) and she keeps asking the caregivers to call her a cab or calling me to pick her up go “take her home”. Then my Dad calls and can’t get words out but it sounds like he is afraid she will run away again!
And it doesn’t help having our 20 year old home trying to do online classes and we don’t want him hanging g out with friends.
All the beaches and hiking trails are closed because to many people were out not social distancing. The cities took down all volleyball nexts.
Struggling with having all these caregivers come in my parents house. When they should be on kobdown. Or do I move in and let them go. I have asthma so I’m nervous going out and getting it too.6 -
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx
I hope you get to keep your job. I also understand about the pay cut. My company is paying its hourly workers for 32 hours per week for the next 3 weeks. I know many of my coworkers were depending on all the OT pay they were getting and now they have to figure it out on 32 hours. I've never figured OT pay or bonuses in my budget since I know those things can go away, which now they have. We're supposed to get our quarterly bonus at the end of April but who knows what that will look like now.
I understand the wanting to eat because for some reason it seems to comfort us. I'm glad you're not giving in to those urges. Keep up the great work! Now that I"ll be home all the time, I'm going to have to make sure I don't get something to eat out of boredom. My condo is small and the upper level is basically one big room. The kitchen area is only steps away from the living room. The lower level is two bedrooms and a full but small bathroom and an area for laundry. My plan to stay out of the kitchen area is to pretend that I'm at work and can only eat at designated times. I also plan to be productive and probably get in a lot more exercise than I normally would.

@1theresamcvean
That's really nice of the Canadian phone companies to waive fees, etc, during this time. I haven't heard anything about that in Michigan.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy my posts. Trying to do my best to help anyone I can through things I've gone through and to get others feedback on things they've gone through that may help me.
I've been enjoying all the fur baby pics too. Glad you liked my dog pics even if they don't belong to me. I love them as if they do.🥰2 -

Well yesterday my work decided they had to shut down half way through our day. We are a small business so hopefully it's not long as of now we are to open april 6. Hopefully we can get the kids back. I did make an exercise plan. I'm doing 21df and country heat. I'll throw some walks in too. It snowed last night. I already did my videos but I might still go for a walk. I will spend 1 day doing nothing but getting caught up on shows and reading because I deserve it but I will do some spring cleaning. Hopefully once I get into a routine I can keep it.5

I didn't weigh the last couple of days. A string of lemon cakes, Mexican food, comfort foods and bigger portions have taken me back up to a shocking 10 pounds. 151.8. Very hard to confess this. But that's who I am and have been all my life. I put a kibosh on the rest of my meal plans this week and started a cleanse this morning. I am giving myself 30 days to get back down to goal. I assume the last 3 pounds are sodium, gluten and sugar since they came on so quickly. I actually feel strong and more optimistic than I have in a long time. I am putting myself back on a cleanse and a diet until I see 142 again. I know what it feels like to be serious. And the timing is perfect. Limited groceries, no parties and get togethers. I did notice the extra roll around my waist line last night. I really miss being teensy eensy. Our walking program is going good. Week 2.
There is so much out of control right now that it makes me feel a bit peaceful to have something familiar again to focus on. Losing weight. I don't know how to successfully keep it off but I keep tweaking and trying. I just love being naughty. I just love being very small better. So here I go again.
Overall I am feeling much better about this virus situation. My dad is 90 my mom is 88 and does dialysis 3X a week. I am still recovering from my heart condition and past ill health. What are the odds that we will survive this? I don't mean to be gruesome. More accepting. Molly the Old Folks and I are going to write out what happens to us if we die. Who do we call? We all have wills but I need a list of names and phone numbers of each person that the 4 of us would like contacted. Who are mom and dad's church leaders? Instead of having things on the phones we are going to put an action plan together what to do in case we die. It was hard to get to this point but now that we are I feel much more in control. It would take a miracle for all 4 of us to live through this. But I believe in miracles. I also feel the sweetness of surrender. Let's take the best care of ourselves that we can. Enjoy each day to the fullest. Honor what is most important. Have fun. Enjoy nature. Get my body back into the best health that I am capable of. Then flow and honor each day and what it brings.
It's Spring time. There is so much beauty surrounding us. I don't want to miss the daffodils and tulips.6 -

Just checking in quickly. Jim is still not feeling well. His symptoms are getting worse instead of better. We did do a video conference with the doctor. He can't rule out Covid-19 even though he hasn't had a fever and the cough didn't get bad until day 5. He said Jim could get a test but Jim doesn't want to leave the house. The doctor was ok with that. If he wasn't I would have forced him (remember I am brutal ) The treatment wouldn't change if we knew so we are going to continue to monitor him and treat his symptoms. He did order an antibiotic because of his lungs. He is afraid he may develop pneumonia. I am letting him rest at the moment and then will get him out of bed for a bit. I need to get him to eat too so he can take this antibiotic. The doctor did suggest at first we take him to the ER but I used to work with this doctor. He asked if I was comfortable taking care of him at home and I am. I also know when it is time for him to go to the ER. I don't think he is at that point yet. I also have friends who are in the ER and ICU and it is already crazy. I don't want him in there if he doesn't need to be.
Ok, got to run. I will check in tonight. I am going to try to post some funny Daisy pics from my phone as @xX_PhoenixRising_Xx asked for a little levity from the situation. To set it up. Daisy is a strange one. We love her but my brother actually think she was a princess in another life and isn't really a dog at all Lol! My vet calls her quirky which is a nice way of saying weird. She gets into these staring moods some days. All these pictures are within 45 min one night. She was either staring or moving to the next position to stare at me. Let's see if I can post these...
She looked away when I took the last one but she was staring me down then too. Lol!
@tryingagain5 I think PA did that because there are a lot of rural communities that aren't effected. The counties that have the stay in order are near Philly and Pittsburgh. There is one that isn't so I am not sure why. It is north of us and I am wondering if it has a high rate of commuters to New York.
@1theresamcvean I feel so bad for Wendy but I am not surprised. Hopefully she will get into a routine and stay in contact with her friends and family through facetime and whatever they do now a days. As you said, classes will be a good distraction too. I am looking forward to MK getting back to classes online. Her school wasn't prepared so she is off until 3/30 and then they will be online. I think the structure will be good for her. I have to say, you cracked me up with the Simon Says! I love that you are going along with it even though you didn't mean to sign up! You are the best!
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx I have to agree with you. It does suck! I am glad that you are at a point that you recognize your urges and put a stop to them. I know it is a struggle. Hugs and I am going to try to share some pics after this to give a little something to smile. If I did it on my computer it would be big. If I share on my phone they are little and you click on them. Remember, minimal tech knowledge, that is just what I notice when I post. Lol!
@JillyBT No worries about not checking in. We understand. There is so much going on. Hope you are able to take care of yourself a little. Please check in whenever you need to. Hugs.
@ljdanny I was wondering how your job was doing. It seems like they have been trying to keep the child care open but I guess it depends on where you live. It sounds like you have a good plan for a routine with your workouts. I also agree that you do deserve a day of relaxing and reading or watching movies.
@Mrsbell8well I actually think it is good that you are reining it in and putting a stop to the scale going up. Is the only way to stop it is to do a cleanse? How about just eating healthy? You eat very healthy to begin with. The weight was probably from you indulging and not from your usual meals. Why don't you just eat as you normally do? I bet if you tank up on fluids and flush the sodium out, you will still be down about 3 pounds in a day or two with just normal eating. I think this isn't the time to deny your system good nutritious meals. Especially if you feel the way you do about surviving this. Do you still have to go to work? Is there anyway you can work from home with your recent health issues? Does Molly work from home? I think if you all stay in with the exception of your Mom's dialysis, you most likely will be fine. If you do get sick, get medical attention immediately since you are all in high risk groups. Make out your plans if that makes you feel better and it's one less thing you have to worry about if you are sick. I would concentrate on staying healthy by eating good nutritious food and staying hydrated. Jim has been sick a week and hasn't eaten for days. Do your body a favor and be in the best possible condition if you need to fight off an illness. Hugs to you.
@hope002 Great job! Hope all is well where you are!5 -
It worked!! I have to pat myself on the back! Lol!3

Hi everyone,
Just on lunch break after home schooling. It did not go well this morning, ugh. Yesterday was a good day. I followed my plan, exercised and drank over 2l of water. My younger son had a bit of a rough night sleeping and I was up with him a few times. He has some anxiety about everything that is going on, and also misses his friends and activities. We are trying our best to talk things through with him and keep his spirits. He is feeling better now and has his ups and downs like the rest of us. My older boy just FaceTimed my mom and told her about all his social activity on TikTok,PS4. etc. My mom has no idea what he is talking about but I can tell she loves talking to him!
@sleepymom5 - I am so sorry that Jim is not feeling better and very good thing that you are a nurse. Keep on taking good care of him and use your best judgement if the ER is necessary. Hang in there and remember to take care of yourself too. Daisy is adorable and you have a beautiful family!
@hope002 - Nice day!
@mrsbell8well - I agree with @sleepymom5. Putting on some weight right now is understandable, as are your emotions around the gain. Given your recent surgery and the risks of the virus, perhaps give some extra thought to your approach. A 10 lb weigh loss in a month and a cleanse at face value seem to be very extreme targets at the best of times. Perhaps give your normal, healthy eating a try, as well as mindfulness. Getting your affairs in order is a smart thing to do at any time, so now is as good a time as any. A lot of people are doing this now because they have the time.
@ljdanny - I am sorry about work shutting down. Exercise and some relaxation time are smart things to do right now. Daycares here have shut down, but they now have to open emergency ones now as so many essential workers rely on them.
@tryingagain5 - I am sorry about your job and good that you are getting some pay for the next 3 weeks. Your plan to stay out of the kitchen and exercise is a good one!
@JillyBT - Nice loss! It is a tough situation with your parents. Given that you have asthma, you may want to hold on to the caregivers for now.
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx - I am so sorry about work and of course it would not be a good day today. Your urges to binge eat are very understandable right now and it is very good that you are recognizing them. Please post here whenever you need to, particularly with respect to the urges. Sending you a virtual hug.
@1Theresamcvean - Omg, I have to watch you on Zoom! That is hilarious! I feel bad for Wendy and she is very luck to have you. My mom lives in St. Davids which is part of Niagara-on-the-Lake. She lives in a neighbourhood full of retirees & Downsizers, so they all look out for each other. She prides herself on her good health and independence, so needing to rely on anyone is very hard for her. Let us know how the home box coloring goes. I will not do it as I know I will mess it up. I don’t have too many greys, but they will show. I am going to use more hairbands as a solution!
@GingerPwr - You can bust that plateau! Sending you light & positive thoughts for weigh in!
@nstephenson01 - So happy that your hubby made it home safely and it must feel great to have him back! You are so kind to shop for your neighbour, especially with these shortages. Good to focus on what you an control like your food & exercise. Thanks re my boys. They are cute, but not when I am homeschooling them, omg!2 -
This article made me laugh. Our PM does not have the virus, but his wife does, so she is self isolating in one part of the house, and he is self isolating with their 3 kids in the rest of the house. They normally have nannies, housekeepers etc, but because of the circumstances, they have no staff, leaving the day to day childcare and house stuff all up to him. The only exception is that meals are delivered daily. The article talks about the kids interrupting during his important conference calls with his cabinet and other leaders. It was strangely comforting to me that he is experiencing what other parents are during this time.

Have to laugh at all the moms trying to home school for the first time. Yes it is important to keep the kids busy and to keep their minds occupied. Why not try something brand new - an internet scavenger hunt maybe? A new recipe they can make on their own?
My grandson is 18 and a senior in high school. He was complaining to his Mom, my daughter who is a teacher, that it has been soooo long since they were in school (only one week) and he wants this to be over. He in on the lacrosse team and their season got cut short, he is undoubtedly missing the practice sessions with his buddies.
Update on my journy - had the port implanted this morning - went well home in less than three hours. Next is endoscopy on Friday to check out the stomach, pancreas, etc to decide for sure which drug combo I will get. Keep the prayers coming please.5 -

Patsy (I'll kick myself if I have your name wrong)...You sound in good spirits considering what you're going through in the midst of this. Hats off to you!! Where do you live and how are things in your area hospitals while you attend your treatment? I have heard that some wards in the hospitals here are less busy. Big hug.1 -
@1theresamcvean thanks for the information on handling the paperwork. I’m in Michigan and our state was put on lockdown today, so I’m going into work, but just to answer the phones and work on items already in the office. No appointments or anything like that. I guess I’m trying to occupy my time since the clock seems to be moving very slow. I do enjoy having my son and grand puppy in town and that’s been wonderful. Today I gave the puppy a bath and washed his little smelly shirt! Plus I cleaned up some of his messes (grrr- not so much fun!!)4

Virtual piano lessons for son #1 going on right now, omg. Life online takes time to get used to!!3

Transformation Tuesday - Self Care at Home
We have a home workout space that all of us use a lot more. But it is our kitchen that has become the hub of self care and family time. Both my husband and I cook, but now we have more time to spend cooking daily. We are cooking with the kids, tackling more ambitious recipes and just spending time together in the kitchen. I have always loved to bake and made this cake with my younger son this afternoon. The kitchen has become a place to shed some stress, be creative and show our love for one another.7 -
Tuesday 3/24
Food: good
Water: 48 oz
Exercise: 20 minutes high intensity bodyweight, 20 minutes low intensity, 60 minute walk, 15 minute walk
I woke up at 3am today, I'm sure it was because I slept all day expecting to go to work last night and then Michigan went on shelter in place. Since I was awake spent some time in prayer.
Got up after a while and did a load of laundry. I figured since I have nowhere to be I might as well get some extra laundry done.
I spent my day alternating between doing Bible study, reading a novel and cleaning.
I went for an hour long walk with a neighbor and her furry friend, Lucy. After that I called a few people from church to check on them.
One of my friends called to see if I wanted to go for a walk. We just went around the condo complex with her furry friend, Jack.

Here's a picture of Lucy. She kept looking away every time I was ready to take her picture. This is the best one.6 -
A quick check in from "SANITARY MAN"
Watching what I eat but not logging
Drinking tons of water
Sleeping is irrelevant at the moment
Dusted off the spin bike but have not sat on it yet........
@1theresamcvean LOL, Thank you! Mom is a real firecracker at 92 years young!
@podperson1 Glad I can make people laugh amidst these challenging times, and Mother is recovering nicely, thank you!
@Cafelelia Thank you for your thoughts, and thank you for reminding me to take care of myself.....very easy to put yourself on the back burner during stressful times....
@Mrsbell8well And yes, I think we all are feeling the family "VIBE" as well!!!!
@sleepymom5 Truth be known, I think my mother would like me to leave her alone sometimes! lol, and this is a turkey pie (with a horse on it)
Leftover Roasted Turkey Breast
Potatoes
Carrots
Mixed Veggies (frozen kind)
Gravy made from the Turkey drippings
Store bought "Cheater Crust"
And a handful of Love!
Baked at 350 until the bubbly goodness starts to break thru the tender and flaky crust (50 min or so)
Makes the whole house smell like Thanksgiving!!!

Here's the high intensity workout I did this morning. You can modify any of the exercises to make them easier or harder if you want.4 -
@tryingagain5 Holy workout, Batman! I don't think I could do this many reps.
Did a run today, but moved my phone to my sports bra to take off my jacket, and I closed the run app with only one interval left. Stupid boobs! At the end of the day, it's not so much about the mileage and time, but about just getting out and exercising, so I just have to be happy about the run itself.
Ate light throughout the day, and made another round of Thai pork bowls for supper - sooooo good! Everyone liked these so much I had to make them again today, but today I made some knockoff lo mein to go with it.
I'm hungry right now, so I want to figure out something that won't be too salty before I head to bed. Hoping for a loss tomorrow!

Tuesday 3/24
Food: logged and on target
Water: over 64 oz
Exercise: 40 min walk, PT, stretching and strength
I didn't do too bad today. Had some little muffins that I didn't have planned but otherwise good with food. I did make a point to get a good PT session in and a nice walk. I was just exhausted today. I hope it was from not getting enough sleep last night.
Hope everyone has a good night
@Cafelelia That article was great! It is funny to think that the Prime Minister is going through the same things as many young parents are and trying to run a country. Virtual piano! That must be pretty cool!
@pacsnc6 I am glad that your treatment plan is going along as scheduled with all that is going on right now. Sending prayers and hugs!
@lennoncpa Sunny looks so good after his bath. Hope you have a seamless transition to working from home.
@tryingagain5 Sounds like you had such a pretty productive day today! That workout looks tough-awesome job!!! Hope you can get on a regular schedule for sleep while this is going on. Jack is adorable!
@KUMEcyclingteam That looks delicious! Dusting off the spin bike is a start, hopefully you can take a little time and ride it at some point. I also hope that you are getting adequate rest, even Sanitary Man needs to take care of himself
@GingerPwr I know that the important thing is you got out and exercised but I know how gratifying those apps are. That Thai pork bowl look so delicious!

2lbs loss is a nice surprise I haven't been trying particularly but as the volunteers haven't been in the junk food hasn't been around. Also I have been trying to eat moderately using up old food in the fridge and cupboards first. We are not buying the snacks so much just trying to conserve supplies all round. Well what a difference a week makes. The country is in total lock down. So i am at home with LO all day and home working in the evening. I realised yesterday that I haven't been on here for a while. This social distancing has turned into sociable distancing and I have been whatapp video calling and do houseparty it is an app for get togethers with friends and family. A new routine is emerging. i am trying not to be to prescriptive just go with stuff. I try to go out early in the morning while there aren't many people about. LO and I just got round the block. she takes her bike or scooter. We are do a joe wicks work out at 9am. yesterday I did a ton of laundry while rosa played an educational computer game. We then did 2 play dates over whatsapp which basically involved the children screaming at each other for an hour. I was absolutely exhuasted after wards. I am planning to take things a bit easier today. Rosa has got behind with her school work so we have to catch up. People are telling me it is still busy outside. As long as everyone keeps a safe distance I suppose but it makes me feel a bit worried. Yesterday was the hottest day of the year in the UK and it is so rare to have nice weather it is hard to stay in but that is what we must do.5 -

So, I stayed the same! I'll take that as I lost my way this past week. First is was the Chinese takeaway on Thursday, the left overs the following day, and then I have not been tracking food or trying to drink my water. I weigh daily so saw the immediate increase and have tried eating better the last few days, so I am pleased to be back where I was last week. This week, my goal is to track my food everyday!
Monday was the first day of school and nursery closures - it went relatively well. I don't work Mondays, so was able to give my 2 kids my attention (making sure Ben had school activities - and even start our focus topic on Ancient Greek, and playing with Violet). Then came Boris' address to the nation, now on lockdown! Suddenly felt quite claustrophobic! Yesterday I was trying to work whilst also dealing with the children. Certainly a bit of a challenge and admit not much of my work got done! Hopefully today will be better.
@sleepymom5 hope Jim starts feeling better soon.
@KUMEcyclingteam that pie looks amazing! Just my kind of food!
@amsandos the Joe Wicks PE is great isn't it! Ben and I did it on Monday. Planning on doing it again this morning. Yesterday's PE lesson we joined Oti Mabutsi for a live dance lesson on Facebook. That was really fun - she then did an adult one in the evening that I did too. It is so great that people are giving their time to put these things on for the kids (and big kids!).
@cafelelia that cake looks great. I keep thinking about doing some baking with the kids - only problem is I am the only one in the house that really likes cake! How did the virtual piano lesson go? Thinking of asking the kids Aunt to do step up to the challenge of doing virtual lessons for my little ones.
@pacsnc6 I agree re parents home schooling for the first time. I really didn't want to do formal home schooling. My son's school is using an online site for teachers to set work and communicate with the kids - problem is that Ben get frustrated with bits of it, or wants to know/understand more - so having to step up to that. Hats off to all teachers - I'm ready to quit this job already!

@tryingagain5 yikes! That workout looks crazy! I have no idea what exercise a suicide is, but ai am pretty sure I would not be able to do 30 of them, let alone anything else on that list. My body aches just from looking at it 😂2
-
@Freeglerock
That workout was hard! A suicide is basically running(or in my case jogging) from point A to point B and that is 1. Going from point B back to point A is 2 and so on.
I'm pretty sure there are several things on the list that I may not be doing correctly but I'm still moving. I found this workout online somewhere. It was so long ago I don't remember where.2 -
@sleepymom5
I did have a pretty productive day. Now I just need to keep it up. That workout was hard. I shared it in case anyone wanted to try something different.
Yes, I'm going to be sleeping at night until I go back to work. I slept really well last night. I did wake up a couple of times but fell asleep again quickly.
Yes, I think Jack is pretty adorable too.!
Hope you and Jim feel better soon.2 -
