WEIGHT NO MORE Team Chat - April 2020

i didn't do any workouts this weekend but i did rake a ton of leaves that are along the outside of the yard. yesterday a guy came to give us a quote for a new pool liner. i cry everytime we get one. my husband decided to go with this guy so hopefully by june 1st the pool is ready to go.
i was supposed to have a zoom meeting this morning with my bosses, they scheduled a one on one with all the staff because we were going to reopen monday but when i just logged in for mine there were a ton of emails last night cancelling them and saying that we are not opening at this time. they will pick a later date. i really didn't think they would. we only had 15 kids who were going to be coming back for monday and they wanted at least 25. none of us were going to be getting full time hours. maybe this second round of being off work i will actually get some weight off. i am getting some more fruit and veggies in. not sure what is happening to the stawberries i buy, they go bad so fast.
it's raining here today so i am either going to sit and read my book or maybe clean up around the basement, that can use some organizing.2 -
Good morning everyone,
I had a nice weekend coming out of self isolation. I feel so free even though I am still in regular quarantine! We cleaned the entire house, I did a bunch of laundry and we celebrated with pizza and a movie. My brother and his partner also came by for a distanced visit on our front lawn, which lifted everyone’s spirits. I just feel like I can focus on everything again. This week, aside from helping with the online schooling, I am going to get things going again for my legal practice, so I can start up some work as May rolls in. Today, our government is outlining a schedule for a gradual reopening, but that will not be until late May. They just extended online schooling to the end of May, which really means it will stay that way in June as well. It’s a warm and sunny day today, so I am going to try to get out this afternoon.
@ljdanny - Too bad that your work delayed, but looks like you are making the best of the free time. That will be very nice when you pool is ready to go in June!
@podperson1 - Nice loss! You are so right that we are not in this alone and a lot of us have similar issues around food. I love that term “people dodging”!
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx - What a beautiful photo! Thanks for posting. I really hope that you are feeling better and that the dizziness and nausea have stopped.
@CassieGetsFit2013 - First, great loss! Cassie, I totally agree with the wisdom @xX_PhoenixRising_Xx and @GingerPwr. Please do not ever let another person’s negative opinion influence your self-esteem and what you see in the mirror. You are a lovely, young woman and you really have made great progress on your journey. Just keep doing what you are doing, which is focusing on health, weight loss and fitness. Just tune out that negativity and stay focused on you. Sending you a virtual hug!
@tryingagain5 - Hope that work went well last night!
@annliz23 - Sorry about that little gain, but keep up your amazing focus and step count!
@freeglerock - Thanks for posting and I was afraid we lost you! Things don’t have to be perfect to post here. Sometimes if you having a not great day, be it mood, eating or whatever, it can really help if you post about it. Even if it is just to vent. Plus I want to hear about the vegetables that you are growing!
@timibotkin - Sorry for that gain, you are not alone, especially now! On the bright side, you step count is impressive!

WTG! @hope002, @GingerPwr and @podperson1 Our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners last week!!
Congratulations also to our winners in the step challenge! @Annliz23 @Zumba_Luvah and @ljdanny great job ladies!!
Well, so much for getting on everyday Lol! My computer time yesterday went to ordering thank you cards. I wanted to have ones that had a nice message inside and then I just have to add a line or two on the bottom to personalize with what was done. I am not really sure that I need to do them but I feel like I have them hanging over my head to do. Our dryer also died yesterday morning so the rest of my computer time went to looking for a new one. Ugh! Bad timing but at least we were all caught up on wash.
I have been doing good with planning, water and exercise since Friday. Now to kick it up a notch and follow the plan lol! Shannon is back to watching what she is eating so she planned a menu for the week. Tomorrow I am going to the store in the morning. Jim has been sleeping in so it is a good time. I am really amazed at his progress since he has come home. He does get tired very easily but is walking without his walker, showering, doing stairs and back to work a few hours a day. He still has the PT and OT coming twice a week so I am sure it will take a while to get his strength and endurance back but it is encouraging how far he has come. On a side note, he lost over 40 lbs with this whole ordeal so in about a month. He has a ways to go with that too but for the first time he is actually interested in continuing to lose and to also get healthier and start exercising.
Hope all of you are surviving through this crazy time. I will go back to read but not sure when. I am picking up where I started Friday and hopefully can continue to do more and more. Let's have a great week and finish April strong!
@Zumba_Luvah Congratulations on getting to your goal! I know you will be just as successful in reaching your new goal too! Amazing steps by the way!!
@kirsten11872 That is basically a maintain which isn't bad at all. I hope all is going well with you.
@Cafelelia I am so glad that you are finally out of isolation. It has been a long time coming! Take your time with all you have to do and still listen to your body. If you need rest be sure to rest. I bet your little guy was so happy to have you back! Now that I see today's post, you did great and had a productive and fun day! Now that you have the home front squared away, time to move on to the business end I guess. Remember to take breaks and still take care of yourself.
@tryingagain5 It is good to spend time outdoors when you can. It is good for the soul. Even better when you are exercising as well but talking to friends and neighbors keeps us sane. I also think that it is important for you living alone to keep these connections going. The drive in church sounded interesting. Too bad the live stream didn't work. I wonder how that worked. Sounds like a good idea to be together but still apart.
@timibotkin No worries about the weight. I have to read back and see what is going on with you but considering all that you have been going through, this is going to be a little blip on the radar. Do what you can to get back on track and if you are on track, there could be a number of reasons why your weight is up. Hang in there! Sending hugs!
@Freeglerock I am so happy to see you post! We would miss you if you left. I think when you want to put your head in the sand is exactly when you should be posting. You need our support during those times. I know that several of MFP friends like those two programs you found. I think making a point to exercise is a great place to start. Once you are comfortable with that, you can make another change. Small changes add up.
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx I am glad you were able to be in contact with your doctor and get a few answers. Hopefully you will slowly start to feel better. I am glad that you listen to your body and just do the exercise that you are able to and not push. I know this is not your first rodeo so I don't have to tell you! And absolutely stay away from Dr Google lol! I love where you are able to walk. What a beautiful picture!
@annliz23 Those are amazing steps for someone who has back pain! I hope you start feeling better soon. Don't push if you aren't feeling well.
@ljdanny Holy crap! Some of those day's steps are amazing!! I can relate to the to do list that isn't getting done...I am not surprised about the daycare not opening. They aren't opening here either. I will join you with getting some weight off on this end of the quarantine. I can't continue to go up. I am hoping we get our pool open soon. It will be nicer to look at in the yard over the cover.
@CassieGetsFit2013 Nice loss! Keep doing what you are doing. I am sorry that your sister's comment upset you. Don't let her stand in the way of your goals. You keep taking care of yourself and being healthy. That is what is important.
@podperson1 Nice loss! You must be doing better than you think. Hang in there, this is a tough time and sounds like you are making the best of it! xo
@pacsnc6 What a great tip with the strawberries! I am going to try that. I haven't read through all of what I missed but I have been thinking of you. Hope all is going well. xo
@jedaschultz Nice loss! Love your goals for the week. You got this!2 -
Congratulations @hope002, @GingerPwr and @podperson1 for being our top “losers” this week!! And hip hip hooray to @Zumba_Luvah for reaching your goal weight!!
Nice loss @jedashultz and I like your goals. I have to also remind myself that its not a "eat everything in sight order" LOL
Congrats @gingerpwr for getting into the 130's. Seems like Noom is just what you needed to shake things up. Do you feel it would be beneficial to continue at the completion of the free trial?
@pacsnc6 Yum, that sounds good! @ljdanny in my experience it helps if I take the strawberries out of the plastic container and put them in a glass container. I can't recall if I wash them or not. I don't think you're supposed to wash berries too far in advance but for some reason I think I do so they're grab and go ready. Good luck! I hate when produce goes bad so quickly.
Not much to report from here. I can't believe its already April 27th. I don't know where this month went and everyday feels like groundhog day. At times I get so frustrated and cranky and other times I'm so thankful for the little things. Its shameful what a shambles the unemployment compensation system is in. I've been getting some form of exercise in each day even if its only a 30 minute walk. Haven't been consistent with logging my food. Still tinkering with IF. !4 hr fasts (7 pm - 9 am) are getting easier. Mixing in some 16 hr fasts (7 pm - 11 am) and don't bother to fast at all 2 days of the week. Setting my fasting app seems to keep me from randomly snacking/grazing. I read that its good to keep the body guessing... time will tell if that applies to my body.
Take care everyone!

As this is the last week of April, it is time to think about our May goals.
To help us, this is an optional mini challenge just within our team.
Roses, Thorns & Seeds
Please take a few minutes to reflect on your health and fitness journey in April. The world has thrown us a few curveballs, but we are still here, and still working to get healthier together.
Reflect on your Roses:- What has worked WELL for you/made you happy in April, in terms of your working on Health & Fitness?
- If you're comfortable with doing so, share as many or as few items as you like here.
- What has NOT worked well?
- Again, share as many items as you'd like.
- What are the places you want to work on improving? Things you can see to work on next week and next month?
- Again, share any items you are comfortable with sharing here.
This week, you can share your roses, thorns and seeds in one post, in multiple posts, or just do the exercise on your own!
A big thank you to the captains of the Mission Slimpossibles, who created and shared this optional mini challenge. They also created that lovely graphic too!5 -
Hello all you lovely friends ~
Just when I thought things were surreal, they became sci-fi.
I had a presumed case of Covid-19, which remained untested. Once public health had me on their list I wasn't allowed to go out. Besides, I wasn't considered a priority to test since I could self isolate and had everything I needed at home.
I've had pneumonia three times in my life and this was not the same at all. Luckily, it was a mild case. It didn't feel mild in relation to anything I've had before, but I never needed support to breathe. And that's a blessing that I will never forget.
It began with a transient sore throat and diarrhea which went away and then all at once I was flat out in bed, weak, with body aches and malaise. I had no appetite, a general malaise, low-grade fever, cold hands, and everything smelled bad and tasted weird.
The public health people and my doctor gave me breathing exercises and I never lay all the way down, especially not on my back. So, I never had to go to the hospital.
The most noticeable things about the first week were:
1) There was no way to be comfortable. In all my life, when I've been sick, I could at least find some relief ~ even if it was on the tiles of the bathroom floor.
2) The dreams! In the worst one, I was standing at the top of the world, which I suppose represents Canada. It was bleak up there ~ a vacuous void, in a sci-fi horror way. I looked down at my feet and could see that I was controlling the earth from the very northern point. If I wasn't completely still, just one tilt or shift of my weight would send the globe spiraling out of orbit. I couldn’t shake it. I tried to stay awake and it was still there. I had a fever and was either very hot or shivering, but I worried that if I moved to pull up the covers, the world would be destroyed.
The second week, I was very weak and just felt as though I could teeter back. So I lay low.
This is the third week. The doctor says I'll be weak for a couple more. @Cafelelia had been an inspiration because this is her trajectory. I actually think she may have had it but went for the test while she was in this stage ~ still weak but not contagious.
Tomorrow I'll be sending a separate note to acknowledge all of you. I spent a couple of days reading over your posts to catch up with everything you've been experiencing. We really are in this together!
Hugs,
Theresa

Monday 4/27
Food: good
Water: 64 oz
Exercise: 20 minute low intensity, 40 minute walk
I slept all day since I worked last night. Getting home earlier because of the policy at work. Had some breakfast and went to bed. I still wake up a couple of times before I just get up.
I did a low intensity workout after getting up. My neighbor and I got in a 40 minute walk before it started raining. Since I was still tired I took a nap after supper.
Now I'm sitting in the parking lot at work waiting for 10:10 so I can go into the building.
We find out tonight if we work again tomorrow. From what my boss said last night, there wasn't a lot of work to do but it changes so much that it's probably all different from what he said last night. It really is strange not knowing how many days I will work.

Going in the wrong direction! Might be salt... ate a lot of popcorn this weekend!
Good news we made it the 14 days from contact with one of my parents caregiver whose wife has COVID 19 and he didn’t tell us until she had to go to the hospital! Bad news my moms dementia is worse.. she tried to run away from home this weekend at 1am. Setting alarm off, caregiver was good at keeping her back in the house but the alarm company needed me to confirm the caregiver was legit. It wasn’t easy to get back to sleep after all that.
Trying to stay positive but it is difficult! Ugh looking forward to May! I’m going to try intermittent fasting... start walking and really try... my weight is the one thing I can control in this crazy world today so I’m going to try and embrace the challenge.5 -
@1theresamcvean oh it’s so good to hear from you. My heart goes out to you and everything you have been through and still going through. Many hugs and prayers. You have been on my mind every day.1

@1theresamcvean Gah that sounds like a truly terrible experience. I'm so sorry you went through that. Glad you're starting to feel better!
@Mrsbell8well You continue to be beautiful and awesome and a wonderful inspiration to me!1 -

Check in: Sunday 26th
Food: logged and under goal
Water: approx 55oz
Exercise: 70min cardio
Steps 13,764
Check in: Monday 27th
Food: logged and under goal (only just - and saved by the exercise!)
Water: did not track, but not enough
Exercise: 45min cardio and 20min yoga
Steps 10,075
I currently have my goal set to lose 0.5lb per week, so I do have a fair amount of calories to play with. Even so, I am struggling to stay within plan. Since posting here in Sunday I have been tracking my eating and trying to curb the snacks so at least I am mindful of what I am putting into my body. I'm enjoying the new exercises I am doing, and so each evening I am dedicating some time to do that. Scales not looking good for this week (currently up from last wednesday), but will just have to take it on the chin!
@Cafelelia I would love to share details of my vegetable growing - you may need to tell me to curb it if I start overtaking the board with it and turning this place into a gardening forum! Having the allotment has been amazing during lockdown. Although we do have a garden, it is great to have somewhere else where the kids are free to play (on our patches...) and get some fresh air. Last years purple sprouting broccoli and leeks are just about finishing and the strawberries are now starting to grow. We have baby plants so far of onions, peas, broad bead, carrots, lettuce and butternut squash in the ground. I'll take some photos next time I'm up there. Most of the work though is in the greenhouse at home, where I spend my time planting seeds, separate plants and potting on waiting for a few more weeks before they can go in the ground!
@sleepymom5 so pleased to hear that Jim is getting better and back home now. Sounds like he is making really good progress.
@1theresamcvean so sorry you have been through that, and that dream sounds so scary. Hopefully you are now past the worse and will get stronger and stronger each day. Hugs to you x
@GingerPwr thank for the recommendation - will take a look and try that site tonight.4 -
@sleepymom5 and @Cafelelia You two are selfless, true leaders. With all you've gone through lately, you've been here for us, keeping the group organized, on track, motivated, and supported, while keeping us posted on your own situations. That can't be easy sometimes. We could not be luckier than having you two.
@Zumba_Luvah Congratulations on reaching your goal! Good feedback on what made you succeed - mostly focusing on the right amount of food along with normal activities like cleaning and playing. Who would have guessed with Zumba in your username? Earlier in the month, you mentioned eating a bit more for two days and less after that. I used to specifically have two days a week at (approximately) maintenance calories and then five very light days. It all worked out to the same number of calories per week. For example, 2 days a week at 2,000 calories and 5 days a week at 1,050. The two 'eat-up' days could not be consecutive, so I'd usually do Saturday and Wednesday. Psychologically that worked really well. Thanks for reminding me of this and your inspiration!
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx You really have had a tough month with your health. Is your dizziness vertigo? That's often a companion of migraines. I have Meniere's Disease and I think the symptoms overlap with a condition called Vestibular Migraines. You really are strong and supportive in the face of this and your back pain. I love your beach picture. Just a beautiful scene. Stay strong!
@tryingagain5 I feel like I know you. It's good you get to walk with your condo neighbours. I have no idea what your condo grounds look like, so I just picture my grandmother's, which was beautiful. The Bruce Trail passed right behind her back yard and out front was a view of the Niagara Escarpment. I figure that you're pretty close to Ontario, Canada so it could be similar. My favourite things you talked about these past few weeks: peanut butter pie and going to Niagara Falls when you were a child. At the time you went, I probably lived there. Our little part of the family lived there from the time I was in grade two until I went to university here in Toronto. Thinking about you at work. Stay safe and healthy there
@timibotkin When I read through the posts that I missed one of yours really jumped out at me and I could see you struggling psychologically. You are strong and it's okay. I hope you're having some good days in there. My heart goes out to you. Big hugs!
@srw32 Hello Sarah! Looking forward to getting to know you.
@podperson1 Your writing style is so much fun. Hahaha about the older people on Zoom. Wait! I hope I'm not one of them. And then people dodging! The first day I was allowed to go out was Saturday and it was a mild, sunny day here in Toronto. I hear what you're saying. Where do you live? Thanks for keeping us uplifted!
@pacsnc6 Thank you for your well wishes. How are you doing? As I was catching up, I was so pleased that you were responding so well to your treatment in terms of very few side effects. I hope that continues.
@Mrsbell8well You and I have the same goal weight, 142. Since you've seen that number more recently than I, I'm going to take cues from you. I'm intrigued by this Intermittent Fasting timer. The idea that it motivates you to stop eating unnecessarily in the evening sounds perfect for me. What is the name of the app you use? Once the pandemic got going, I never saw fresh artichokes again. Sigh. Edamame is the closest eating experience and really easy to heat up. Maybe next spring. Also, I love your motivating journalling and ordered supplies for me and more importantly, maybe, my international student Wendy who is very homesick and stranded here. I encouraged her to do bullet journalling so that one day when this is over and she has graduated, when her future children ask her what she was doing in the pandemic, she can show them. Happily, she took it on!
Okay, halfway through the alphabet backward. Stay tuned everyone else, more to follow. I've missed you too.

Hi everyone,
Yesterday was my first good day in a while. The weather was nice, the day was productive and fun, and I felt good. I did not do a food plan yesterday, but focused on healthy eating and my hunger scale. When I did not feel well, I ate more small snacks as I ate less at meals. So I am working on eliminating the snacking this week. My big accomplishment was getting out for a 70 minute walk with my husband and younger son. We live by a park with forests and trails which is still open, so we hiked. I did well on the walk and felt good afterwards. I still feel a bit tired and will exercise every other day this week and next. Our province just laid out a gradual reopening plan, but they are being very conservative. Although we have somewhat flattened, they will not phase into reopening until we have several weeks of it. So I think we will stay in strict quarantine until June at least. We are at the point where this is really grating on us, but I would rather that we take this conservative approach.
@Freeglerock - You have so many plants! I love your greenhouse too! It is so cute! I grew up on a small hobby farm, and love growing things. I have taken a break other than herbs for the past few years because we go away a lot to our family cottage in the summer, and the raccoons & squirrels love to invade. I just read about organic farmers that will help you set up organic garden troughs in your yard with pest-proofing, tend to your plants when you are away, and then you split your crops with them. I have seen some of their work in my neighbourhood and it is impressive. I am going to explore that for next year. Please keep the photos coming!
@JillyBT - A lot of us are gaining right now, so you are not alone. I think that IF is great and a really good way to reset. I have had some success with it and @hope002 has been really successful in her journey with it. Very happy that you and your parents did not get the virus. How terrifying about your mom. I hope that she settles, but I know that dementia is very unpredictable. Virtual hug to you!
@tryingagain5 - Your consistency with exercise is really inspiring. I know it is hard not to know about your work schedule. At least you are getting some hours right now and your company is taking distancing seriously.
@1theresamcvean - Thanks for your kind words and we love this team! I am so relieved that you are getting better and were able to check in here. Even though your case was “mild”, it seemed to be just a terrible experience, especially the dreams. My worst thing was the fatigue, it was long lasting, draining and very unusual. When I received my negative result, the emerg doctor still warned that I could have had or could have the virus because it is so new and they don’t know much about it. It is why I kept so long in self-isolation. I have to say it feels glorious to have my energy back, but I returning to “normal” life gradually. While Toronto escaped the terrible experience that NYC had, I think that we have far more cases of the virus than reported due to our density, mass transit, etc and because there seem to be so many “silent” carriers of this virus. All major cities are probably like that. Anyway, just take care of yourself and sending you a big, virtual hug!
@nstephenson01 - I am with you on those mood swings and the feeling of Groundhog Day. I am trying to mix things up to jolt myself out of it, with varying degrees of success. Keep us posted on the IF. I really do think that it works, but you do have to play around with it and find what works for you.
@sleepymom5 - I am so happy that Jim is gradually getting stronger, and you are able to get back into the swing of things. I cannot believe that he lost 40 lbs, but he did go through a very intense experience. Maybe when he feels better, the two of you can focus together on nutrition and exercise. Don’t worry about checking in regularly and I’ve got you covered!
@jedaschulz - Fantastic loss and I love your goals for this week! Your determination is inspiring!2 -
Whoops, I missed @nstephenson01 in my second half of the alphabet backward. I haven't forgotten you. Loved seeing your majestic Willow. More later.3

@Cafelelia
I'm glad you're starting to feel better and were able to go for that long walk.
Michigan's stay at home order was extended to May 15th with less restrictions than before. Some businesses were allowed to open with others having to wait. Gyms, salons and other nonessential businesses are still closed. Bars are closed and restaurants can only do delivery or pick up orders. Outdoor businesses like landscaping and lawn care are open now. Golf courses are open now but no use of carts.
June is a long time but I understand. I understand both sides. I don't know if Michigan will extend again later with another set of businesses being allowed to open.
Thank you, I've been doing my best to br consistent with something and it seems to be exercise. Having trouble being consistent with the food part. Not always unhealthy foods, just too much. Probably comfort eating. Time to get that under control.
Yes, I'm glad I'm getting some hours in at work and that they're doing what they can for the social distancing.3 -
Hello team and my thoughts go out to all of you as we struggle to get through this crazy and dangerous situation. Thanks to everyone for being here😀5
-
Hello all, hope you are doing well!
Nothing much new here, still working from home & feeding 2 hungry teenage boys, lol On the bright side, my laundry gets done during the week & I cleaned out my closet & cleaned up lots of papers. It is beautiful weather here today, so it is nice to open all the windows.
I decided it is time to reset & get back on track. I have pretty much maintained the last month, but I am not at a weight I want to stay at. I just don't feel great in my skin right now. As the weather warms up, I want to be able to wear my summer clothes, which I do not fit in right now. When I cleaned out my closet, I saw all my cute summer clothes & that motivated me.
I am really going to try to stay on track! I am back to 18:6 IF & logging all my food. I did my workout DVD last night & I will do another workout tonight when I finish working.
Hope you are all hanging in there, staying safe & taking care of yourselves! I am really going to try to post on here daily!
Have a good evening!4 -
@1theresamcvean
I'm glad you're starting to feel better. Continued prayers for you to get back to complete health
Thank you, that's so kind of you.
My condo complex is small, about 100 or so condos total. People have the option of planting their own flowers and there are bushes and a few trees that were put in by the complex. Only 3 streets in the complex but there is a park nearby where there are soccer and baseball fields. There is a trail around a couple of small manmade lakes that are around 2 other condo complexes. (all 3 complexes are separate from each other and not related in any way) The way we go usually takes about an hour and is maybe 2 miles or so.
No, actually I'm not that close to Canada. I'm on the west side of Michigan. About 3 hours west of Detroit and also 3 hours north of Chicago. For me to drive to Mackinac City is around 4 hours or so.
I love anything peanut butter and if you add chocolate I'm even happier. Not the best for the waistline though. Gotta remember all things in moderation.😉 I really don't remember the trip to Niagara but I know I was there from pictures.
Thank you. Work has done a great job keeping us safe.1 -
@sleepymom5
I'm glad that Jim is continuing to improve.
Yes, I'm glad I have really good neighbors. It helps a lot. If I had to be home alone for the first 3 weeks without being able to be outside with them would have been really difficult. I don't mind living alone and if I don't see anyone for a weekend it's not a problem but I was already starting to talk to the walls before I went back to work.😉
It's too bad that church couldn't get the livestream going for the drive in service but it sounds like they're going to do a couple more. The people that I talked to said it was nice and the pastor and worship team did a good job.

Tuesday 4/28
Food: good
Water: 48 oz
Exercise: 45 minutes medium intensity, 45 minute walk
I did better with food yesterday and today so that's an improvement.
The MIL of one of my coworkers is making fabric masks for people so I bought some and wore it last night. I have glasses and we have to wear safety glasses at work too. (not really sure why my department needs to because there's nothing that would cause an eye injury but that's the policy for all departments)
At first I had the safety glasses under the mask but they ended up fogging up a lot, then I tried them on top of the mask and that went better. After our lunch break, it started becoming a problem. I was getting really warm and felt like I wasn't getting enough air. I found out quickly that the fabric masks are tighter and much hotter than the disposable ones. Tonight I decided to wear the disposal one that work provides and will probably alternate between them to make it easier. It's definitely strange wearing a mask all night. They've even told us that once we're done eating our lunch we need to put the mask back on, even if we still have time left in our break. If we don't they'll ask us to leave the building.
I did a medium intensity workout after I got up, then walked with my neighbor and we saw a few other neighbors out walking as well. Since I woke up too early and couldn't get back to sleep I took a nap after I had supper.

@CassieGetsFit2013 I think @xX_PhoenixRising_Xx is right, you can't spot reduce. But I wanted to ask, if strengthening the lower ab muscles might help???
You just need to be content with the progress you're making. Don't worry about what other people have to say. It's YOUR body and YOUR journey and *eff* everyone else. And we love you!
That could be a possibility! I think I just need to focus on healthy eating and staying active. As the weight drops, I can see how it goes...If there aren't really any spot reducing exercises for weight loss, what about for toning or is that pretty much the same? Yeah, I just have a huge fear of what people think of me. I know I shouldn't and I should love myself and not care what others think, but it's hard not to because I am a people pleaser so I always think others are mad at me, don't like me or just have some kind of negative thought towards me. *Sigh*7 -
Thank you everybody for your kind words. I really do need to learn to not care so much about what others think of me! It's just hars because I am such a people pleaser...And as much as I am worried about what others think of me, I have a bad image of myself in my own head...I don't like myself for a few reasons...So, I usually agree with ehat others say, but that just makes me feel worse. Anyway, I am just going to keep pushing myself to eat healthier, drink more water & stay active si I can keep losing weight and maybe, just maybe I'll like my own body some day...
Also, not sure if I told all of you, but in February I went to a consultation for TMS therapy...I have Medicaid/Medicare, but since Medicare is my primary insurance for some reason, I couldn't do it...WELL, the sweet lady I met with back then E-mailed me this morning and said they're acceptibg Medicare now and she wanted to tell me right away and see if I still wanted to do it! Well, I am scheduled next Thursday at 4! For an office visit AND my first treatment! I am SO nervous!! I feel like I have nothing to lose though so I might as well go for it...Also, I'm not sure how much I believe in signs, but I have been dog walking a few times last week and two different days I swe the word, HOPE written in chalk, one on a fence and the other on a sidewalk...Then I get this E-mail today...Maybe they're signs? Not sure! Has anyone ever heard of TMS? Have any pros or cons? Let me know!! Love all of you! 🖤💜7 -

I've actually been a little too far under on my calories the last two days, but I'm really liking the workout schedule I set up for myself.
I'm really close to my goal!

Hi all,
@Cafelelia - sounds like you had a good weekend, sounds nice just to be able to see people again - even from a distance lol
@jedaschultz - great weight loss! am sure you will be under 200 in no time(we're pretty similar weights)
@sleepymom5 - sounds like you're getting back into a routine and am sure if will show results in no time
@1theresamcvean - that sounds so scary! Really glad you're feeling a little better, take it easy and lots of self care. I live in Edinburgh, Scotland, it's a beautiful city and I do love it but lots of people in flats etc round my area so everyone seems to be going out on the footpaths/parks etc since they don't have gardens
@JillyBT - what a relief about the non-infection but sorry your mum's not doing great, hope you both catch a break soon x
@CassieGetsFit2013 - Sadly, it's pretty impossible to 'spot reduce' weight from certain areas (I tend to lose from my boobs first - come on now, that's the only area it can stay if it wants to). I think it's good to get into habits of toning up muscle areas for strength and flexibility but you might not see the full benefits of it until you lose more through cardio. A friend of mine used to say she had a perfect six pack, you just couldn't see it through the layer of fat on top lol! That said, you're making progress, you're pushing forward and don't let anyone else make you feel bad about yourself. I hear you on the negative thoughts being hard to shake though.
Had to go into the office today to pick up the paperwork that was piling up. Bosses paid for a taxi for me there and back and only me and one of the managers there to open up so wasn't too bad. Bit weird to be in office with no one else there! We actually got our first government wages relief payment in today, which means I must have filled in the gazillion forms right - phew!
Pretty much sticking to my calories. Had a 'burger bowl' for dinner as I do love a nice veggie burger but trying to keep my carbs fairly low. Made up lettuce, pepper, tom etc in the bottom with blob of cottage cheese (purely to use it up tbh), burger on top, little sprinkle of cheese and guacamole on top. Yummy and pretty filling.
Haven't been as good on the workouts, not done much the last few days so need to get back on that. Tried a new one the other day but was a bit rubbish so barely made it through to the end. Ah well, suppose the only way to know is to try them.5 -

Good morning team, I hope that everyone is doing well today! I had a good day yesterday and am catching up on a lot of things. I will start my food plans on Sunday for the new month, same with an exercise plan. I had a rest day yesterday and am going to try an indoor workout this afternoon as we are expecting a lot of rain. We had virtual drinks with our neighbours last night which was a lot of fun. We had an unseasonably cold April, and I hope it warms in May so we can move some distanced socializing to the backyard.
@podperson1 - Great job with the food and at least you are giving it a try with the workouts. My husband is in the office today to pick up some files and he said the same thing about it being weird and empty. Glad the the government payments came in for you!
@GingerPwr - Fantastic loss and congratulations on getting so close to goal! You truly are an inspiration!
@CassieGetsFit2013 - I am so happy that you are staying on track and focusing on your goals. I don’t know anything about TMS therapy and perhaps that is something you can discuss with your doctor and counsellor, if you have not already.
@tryingagain5 - Masks are just so challenging and it must be hard working your entire shift with one. I think try you best on your breaks and lunch to take it off a bit, when allowed. When I was self-isolating, I wore a construction N95 mask that I had from my home Reno’s. It was just so hot and irritating to my skin. I don’t have the energy to make cloth masks right now, but I ordered a few cotton ones on Etsy from a local seamstress, so I can wear something semi comfortable when I go outside.
@kirsten11872 - You are right that it is time to reset. Focusing on your summer clothes is a great way to do it! Feeding hungry teen boys is a full time job in quarantine!
@1theresamcvean - It is so nice to have you back here posting! We missed you! I hope that you are feeling better each day.
