Today was pretty good. Work dragged on for quite a while, but it wasn't a bad day overall.
I was still craving something sweet today, so I made a "keto coconut bar" and it came out tasting awesome - kind of mounds-like, despite not looking great! It is currently cut and in the freezer for occasional snacking!
Recipe:
3 cups unsweetened coconut flakes
1 cup melted coconut oil
2 tbsp Swerve(my preferred sweetener)
1 bar Lily's Dark Baking Chocolate
Mix coconut, oil and sweetener together. Press into parchment/wax lined 8x8 baking pan. Place in freezer. Melt chocolate. Remove pan from freezer and spread chocolate over top. Top with a few coconut flakes. Freeze 1-2 hours before serving!
Makes 16 servings, 215 calories each
8.7g Carbohydrates
- 5.5g Fiber
= 3.2g Net Carbs
21.2g Fat
1.2g Protein
Awesome job meeting your goals and steps!! Also that dessert looks super yummy. I love coconut.
@richmondwriter thank you! It came out much better than I expected! I will definitely make it again!!!0 -

Today was pretty good, despite my afternoon being too short. Work went by rather quickly-I had a lot to do. Made dinner, watched two episodes of HGTV and prepped my meals for tomorrow. I have been doing well this week remembering to take out the next nights dinner to defrost. I do have to log tomorrow's food, but that takes like two seconds saying I have it written down! Now it is time to read and unwind for a few before I go to sleep2 -

@cmhubbard92 I ate a lot of yogurt, pudding, jello, mashed potatoes, chicken broth, and V8 drinks😂 I had to flush out the sockets on my lower jaw and I hated that so I tried not to eat anything that might get suck in there

At my office yesterday and today, thus the low step count. It's like a ghost town, very few people around as we are still max telework. I'm in because I had computer issues. It sort of feels like Black Friday...you hear someone typing on the other side of the office but don't see anyone. Weird.3 -

Totally blew it eating last night. I have been struggling with my anxiety pretty hard lately and work has been extra stressful to top it off. I got done work and walked a couple miles in the 97 degree heat hoping that would help my mood. People who say they get a “workout high” are just liars.
I came home and stress ate all my progress away.
At least i’ll know why I gained weight at my weigh in this week 🙃2 -

Even though you weren't under your calories, and with all the stress you were experiencing, you still managed to do a great job tracking, drinking water, and exercising, even in 97 degree heat! I hope tomorrow is a better one for you, with regard to the stress and anxiety.0 -

Protein 28%, carbs 39%, fat 33% - happier with the protein! One thing that helped was using can of HEB chicken breast, all natural. I used it for a sandwich, then later for a snack (spread on 5 crackers). It was filling and tasted good. I also had a Premiere Protein Shake in Chocolate and a scrambled egg with cheddar cheese.

@richmondwriter if your goal is to increase protein and reduce carbs you are better off with the egg and chicken breast. Protein shakes are great for protein but they also tend ot be higher in carbs.1 -
FRUSTRATING!!!
Yesterday afternoon I had about 14k steps and I think my calorie adjustment was somewhere 350-400. (Not sure where some of you get >1000 calorie burns but that's a topic for another post ) I went for a bike ride and afterward went to log my water and saw the below picture. Why do my calories keep disappearing?!?!? It's hard enough to earn any worthwhile nevermind have them zeroed out every time I go for a bike ride. I checked the technical support page and there was just a general announcement of having Fitbit synching issues. Not sure if that covers this issue or not.

@DaffyGirl88 it looks like you have a second app logging your exercise? I would disconnect it from MFP. I only have fitbit sync my activity... also, what is your activity level set at? These could all affect why you aren't getting much of an adjustment.
I would suggest removing the app that you have linked.
Also, look at your Fitbit app-what total calorie burn are they giving you? Subtract 500-1000 calories depending on what your deficit is, and it should be roughly the same as your calorie goal plus exercise adjustment.
I hope this may help a little!
Edit: I see the 400+ calorie adjustment is for a 37 minute bike ride... that is definitely way too high. That may be why fitbit did not give you any exercise calories... it could figure that the 400+ covered the activity from your ride plus your extra from steps!0 -

And THIS my friends is why I never eat back exercise calories. There's no way to determine what they should be. 😕1 -

@cmhubbard92 thanks, I will do some higher math and see what I come up with. My activity level is set to "active". Fitbit does not register cycling.1 -

I believe you can manually add cycling with Fitbit. I have the Versa, and I am able to set bike or spin to my workout...
I have myself set as "not very active" and I'm set to lose 1.5lb a week, so Fitbit gives me some pretty big sdjustmemts-but my calorie goal is a little over 1200...
No matter what you use to calculate exercise calories, there will always be some room for error... same as without weighing your food you'll never be 100% sure how many calories you're eating... it is an estimate, and if you are getting your goal losses over a month or so, then your estimate is pretty good! Just look at your overall results and adjust as you go!
Hopefully something made sense here, I just woke up 😂0 -
