    Step & Water Challenge:
    Water: 112.5
    Steps: 13,462

    Goals:
    Exercise 30 Minutes 5x/week: ✔✔✔✔✔✔✔
    12,000 steps 5x/week: ✖✔✔✔✔✔✔

    Reflections:
I ended up not running this morning... I am kind of disappointed about that, but I have nobody to blame but myself. I did do a rough meal plan by searching keto recipes, and planned out my shopping list pretty well. Ended up getting all but two items.

For the most part I tried to ease myself into keto, but I knew I wouldn't reach the goal with a pre-planned sweet treat-chocolate delight that my mom made yesterday. For dinner we grilled outside, pork chops with veggie(asparagus, red onion, green/red bell peppers) packets. It was delicious with the marinade I made for the pork. I am excited to try new recipes that I have printed out!

That looks super yummy! I am impressed with your cooking and hope you enjoy the new recipes!

@richmondwriter I feel like I post way too many pictures, haha. I have more on my phone 😁 thank you!!!

No--please keep them coming. You have good ideas. :)

Yesterday was a good day!! It had been a week since I went for a walk, so it felt good to get back out there!! I had been doing other types of exercises on the other days last week, except for the weekend, so it wasn't like I was doing nothing, but walking is what's going to get me there!!

You did a great job of meeting your goals! I'm glad you were able to get back out walking.

There are 12 days left in the July Challenge....what are you going to do with those 12 days to make them count?

My goals are to track my calories every day & stay under! Also, I want to add indoor fitness workouts or dancing, 30 minutes 5 days a week.

I really need to get back in the habit of checking in here everyday. The accountability is great, and seeing everyone's posts helps keep me motivated. I'm going to try a different workout schedule for a while- Monday: upper body strength, Tuesday: Lower body strength, Wed and Thurs: cardio, Fri: total body strength, and stretching on the weekend. With this simply outline I can use any of the (tons) of videos I own or YouTube. The goal is that I won't get bored if I'm changing it up.

Stick to the plan like my thighs stick to a vinyl car seat! B)

Seriously though, I didn't do too bad last week at my daughter's but we won't know for sure until Friday. My plan is to follow as closely as I can because on the 13th day we leave for vacation in NC. I will stick to my routine as much as possible but know there will be many tempting goodies. Not to mention sangria and margaritas! ;)

@HASWLRS I am also going to do a color chart through the end of July, charting Tracked, Under, Exercised each day. I've never tried one before, but have been inspired by others on here.

My goals are pretty much the same as usual... Continue to log/eat under calories, keep my steps up, and now follow keto! I am hoping this weather cools off, no end in sight, so I can get back running! They finally filled all the potholes in my route, and repaved the road!

I weighed in much lower this morning, and hope to see it there on Friday! I noticed on my weight tracker, that I am only about three pounds from having just an "overweight" BMI, and that's very exciting for me! And I'm over 2/3 of the way to my goal, unless I change it!

I tried this one today--liked it! The stretching felt great; I haven't been exercising much lately and so felt stiff. The instructor has a very soothing demeanor and I like the positive thoughts. Seems like it would be a good way to start the day--in my case, just before sleep was good too. Managed to squeeze in the day's exercise by 10 p.m.!

Had some strong thunderstorms last night so the humidity is down a little bit this morning. That will change though once the sun gets a little higher in the sky. I could almost hear my garden go "Ahhh…." :)

Stay cool everyone! We're looking at 98 with a heat index of 109 in Southern MD today. When will this wave break?!?

This is more than a 12 day thing, but it has to start somewhere.
I am FINALLY getting it through my stubborn head that I have to track on bad days/weekends. It makes me make some better decisions even if it is a “cheat/reward day” and also makes me realize I should squeeze in some activity. Can’t just call those days a loss and not pay attention at all

@erikNJ, got a good looking week taking shape!!

I ordered a replacement pair of running shoes yesterday. Today, I think my exercise is going to be mainly cleaning. My in-laws are going to be in town on Friday and they want to come for lunch....

Very insightful, Erik! You're right, if weekend are your nemesis, (and they do come around every five days or so), then finding a way to mitigate the damage is key! One really bad splurge day can undo all the other good days in a week!!

@murdog3t and anyone else who does IF, how do you do it without being ravenously hungry? Or, how do you IGNORE being ravenously hungry? I'm asking because I have considered trying it many times but that always stops me. Last year when I had to fast for my *oscopy I thought I'd die!! That or freeze to death. Are you cold? Stupid question, how could you be with this heat right? :o So I guess I'm looking for any helpful hints or lessons learned that have helped you with your journey. Thanks!

I’m not sure others intermittent fasting schedules, but I do 16/8 and it really is one of the best moves I have made (started it last March, unfortunately stopped over the pandemic). For one, it makes it really easy to stay under calories for the day when I don’t eat until lunch. And it does actually help your body burn fat. So sometimes even when I don’t have the best week, if I stay on IF I often would break even or have just a small gain. Don’t remember exactly but I think I went on a streak of losing weight or maintaining every week for around 3 months last year.
As for the hunger, I know that sways some away, I can’t say it bothers me. I drink 40oz of water as soon as I wake up and then drink my coffee after. That holds me over until lunch.

We had strong showers this morning, but they didn't bring any relief. It's still hot and sticky... I feel like I need a second shower after getting dressed! I guess I will just be sticking to my morning walks for exercise... By the time I get done having dinner, prepping my breakfast/lunch for work, doing the dishes, cleaning up the counters, freezing all my water for work, and everything else, its about time for me to get my clothes out for the next day and take my shower. Now that I'm writing it all out, I have a lot to do in the afternoons, and I can't comfortably squeeze in the workouts I want unless I sacrifice my reading... I'm really starting to enjoy it! Anyways... here's a food picture in the Spoiler below :)
    dk6tcohryuhi.jpg
What I've been making for lunch this week... chopped romaine, green pepper, red pepper, red onion, avocado, 2 slices bacon, 2 eggs, 1oz cheddar cheese, 1 tsp oil and salt and pepper. Practically cobb without the chicken :)

I have found my remedy for my yogurt. 1tsp Swerve(sweetener), a couple drops of vanilla extract, and my berries, mixed into 170g whole milk plain greek yogurt, and chilled overnight to let the sweetener do its magic :)
