Food inspiration, or what's for supper?

You know how I keep asserting that I don't like desserts? Well, scratch that. I daren't post pictures or any information on the awesome dessert that my husband made today as a trial run for Christmas Eve, otherwise I'd be accused of trying to torture you all! Suffice it to say that it was out of this world. (Just as well, really, as it was 567 calories a serving).4

Go Alexandra!!!!
Brunch was three egg white veggie frittatas at 210 Cal
Super high cal (got suckered by the low calories of the cod right next to it and by the fact that they were both on sale) pesto crusted Atlantic salmon in its own ready to bake tray..... 900 calories for the two--not humongous-- pieces in the tray.... sitting there ready to go.
Still trying to come up with sides.
Can't pair with the yazu butter cod (420 Cal for the package of two pieces) because they have to be cooked at different temperatures2 -
Homemade chicken salad on a bed of greens tonight. Low fat mayo. Should have calories for some ice cream. Or maybe popcorn?3
-
Oh well done!
Cute little packages of cod with "miso & yazu butter" over a mix of brown rice and riced medley of vegetables. Quite good actually.2 -

We had lean ground beef Pattie’s,roasted potatoes and mixed veggies last night…..tonight is my version of some sort of pot pie minus a crust lol2

well, I am starting to pull / put some stops seeing what is coming down the pike and where I'm at! Yikes! So.... onion, carrot, zucchini, can of pumpkin, red lentil/pea/chickpea soup was made. Maybe one day. Maybe two day?2

How is it? I've never added canned pumpkin to soup - but sounds like a great idea!1 -
If you hate pumpkin don't do it🙀 but if you love various squashes and pumpkin it is an excellent base for the soup👍 Provides body and thickens and it also fills your tummy ❣️0

I really like pumpkin. It is a pain to deal with fresh - but I have an electric can opener1

How is your walking coming along, PAV? Leg feeling better?2
-
Pumpkin belongs in pie, and maybe bread or muffins….1

Missed you, Connie.1

I have my moments lol1 -
walking was coming along FINE TILL we hit -18 to -20 and *kittens* snowing.
Now... it's frozen...
Bike arrived... woooohoooo..... i am leaving saturday (well, I will be back, there's that).
Connie... expand your HORIZONS!

PAV, I would be so disappointed if Connie expanded her horizons so much that she didn't comment on weird food combinations
-18 -20 - brrrrrrrr
Glad the bike finally arrived. Does it hold a reasonable amount of laundry?2 -
I might have to resign... anyway, just glad I'm running away! Currently -24C, feels like -32. (Just -11/-25 in F)
I just finished putting it together and hanging a nice pair of pants😹2 -

Dinner tonight. My favourite kind of veggie sausage (Yves Harissa Mediterranean) and some veggie and white bean stew from the freezer.
Unless of course PAV tells us that he is resigning from us. Then all hell will break loose and the hamsters will have a field day.2 -
Where does PAV think he is going to get away from us lovely ladies?…..we are having some kind of meat pattie, baked potatoes and green beans….I can’t deal with anything complicated today!1

We are visiting some very nice friends who are annoyingly putting together a combo pre Christmas pre birthday party. The 🐹 are already 🙀🤯🤔 since I'm bringing 600g of haloomi cheese sticks and a 700g coffee infused cake.... and there's only 5 people... and that's what we're bringing.... they're already providing food!!!!🙀4

Tis the season2

Fa La La La OY! Honestly I’m looking forward to all the gym membership ads, diet food programs and sales on low cal food starting January 1. Being bombarded by advertisements is a good reminder that the holidays are OVER. Just trying to get through the next two weeks without major damage.3

Dec. 28 is “D- Day “ for me to start back up completely!….D-Day= diet day!3

So today's the 32nd anniversary of me and my husband's first date. We lived together for 18 years before actually getting married, so today always feels like our "real" anniversary. Went over my calorie budget by 43% (but only 5% over for the week to date, as I undercut Monday to Thursday) but it was worth every calorie.
We had homemade suppli al telefono for lunch and burritos for dinner. Plus a homemade cheese scone for elevenses and two Border Dark Chocolate Gingers for supper, which are the world's best biscuits and what I used to woo my husband all those years ago. The biscuits combined with my womanly wiles made me irresistible. Heh heh.5 -

So many things to check out online. Elevenses? Border Dark Chocolate Gingers - guessing that’s a type of what we call a cookie? Suppli Al Telefono? Burritos I know! Many new and exotic things to learn about.

My birthday dinner (turned 50 today) was taco salad. But we went out and I had chicken fried steak and eggs and potatoes and pancakes. Not a whole order of any of it but some of it all. I waited until later to eat dinner because I was still full. Oof. Glad I don't do that a lot. I'm anticipating a scale jump, since I ate out, and I don't use nearly as much salt as restaurants do.4

Very Happy Birthday 🎁🎂🎈 Alexandra!!!2
