It's hard being someone who faints a lot so I feel for them! I do have to sort of chuckle at the medical response.

I’m sure the medical people thought she was having a severe allergic reaction reaction to the shot, while she and her mom knew it was just her needle phobia. Before they let her leave, the medical people “suggested” she might want to get her second dose at her doctor’s office. I guess they didn’t want to go through that with her again.

I’m loving all of the Bernie memes, but I think this one may be my favorite. It took me a second look to get it, but I’m loving Bernie on a gurney!

    Pam - good one!

He says he had no clue; he was just trying to stay warm. LOL!

I love that he had no clue. It makes these that much more humorous to me. Here’s another one that made me laugh.

I spent most of the day in the basement. I'm determined to get my diet food stash organized (and pitch anything stale). My body isn't thanking me but I assume I used some calories. LOL! It's at times like this when I most miss painkillers more potent than the Tylenol I'm allowed to take.

    Packet day today!

The work project I thought I'd be doing this week was held up so a little pressure is off; maybe I can get the diet food organizing done.

Helene - as someone who is used to the Northeast, you'd probably fall on the floor laughing if you could see DH's preparations for the inch or so of snow/ice we're to get tonight.

I'm making significant progress getting my diet food organized.. Hopefully that will be further impetus to make 2021 a success!

Notably, President Donald Trump was the first president in more than a hundred years to not have had a pet while in office.

Major, 3 years old, is the first-ever dog adopted from a shelter to live in the White House.

I saw that report about Biden’s dogs. Trump said he likes dogs but was too busy to have one. Like he didn’t have staff to walk the dog and pick up poop. I doubt he’s an animal fan and that’s one more reason he’s untrustworthy.

We drove through your area on Friday on our way to the Auto Train. The train trip was very smooth and safe. We stayed in our compartment and the attendant brought dinner to us. I had downloaded a bunch of movies from my Prime account. I watched3 films to pass the time. We arrived in FL Saturday morning and we’re home by late afternoon. Today was in the high 70s and it felt great. I’m so glad to be here.

Helene, I’m glad you had an easy trip down to Florida and are enjoying some sunshine!

We’ve had 7 straight days of gloomy, rainy weather, but today it cleared out and was sunny and beautiful. I met 4 of my women friends in the park by my house for a couple of hours to sit in the sun and visit. We all needed it after the previous week of being stuck indoors. It was really nice to be able to chat and relax in the park, watching people exercise, play and just enjoy being outdoors. We don’t often get such a long stretch of cloudy, rainy days, and we have more in the forecast, so I’m glad we were able to get out there today.

Helene - I'm glad you made it!!

We had a coating of snow and ice over night. Just enough to send Marylanders reeling (it doesn't take much).

Packet day went well yesterday. Hopefully I'm back "in the zone".

I'm making good progress on organizing, especially my diet food. Note to self: no NS snacks need be ordered for months. LOL!

A good friend texted this morning that her husband got COVID and 5 days later she also got it. Where was he exposed? Standing in line to get his first COVID vaccination. So far she said they are doing ok but not over it yet.

Oh, my heavens. But I saw video of a long line waiting and that was my first thought "how many of them are going to get COVID"?

I told DH if he can't find me the next couple days I'll be sitting in the basement admiring my newly organized section. I've also started working upstairs.

I was worried about getting COVID from the line I had to stand in to get my first shot. After being in line for an hour behind an older man, when we finally got to the door to enter the actual site he asked the person at that checkpoint how long his wife would have to wait to get her vaccine after testing positive 3 days before. I had tried to maintain my distance even before this, but I made even more sure to stay back from him after that. Everyone was masked, but that was a long time to be that close to someone who might be contagious. It’s been 10 days now and I’m not showing any symptoms, so hopefully I’m in the clear.

WOW!! So much for getting everyone quarantined who needs to be.

Some people just don’t get it. How could he not realize he should have been exposing people in the line. He should have been home quarantining himself. When we can get appointments, I hope it’s a drive through location.

Helene, I agree. I think that because appointments are so hard to come by, he didn’t want to give up his appointment slot and have to go to the back of the line and start over. At least, that’s what I’m assuming he thought. He probably didn’t realize that he was likely an infection risk at that point. He seemed like a nice man from his interactions with everyone that I was able to observe, so I’m choosing to believe that he was clueless rather than just plain selfish and uncaring.

I lost a pound last week. Yeah!

    ta2bbai1potv.png

16 1/2 pounds to a normal BMI (at least at the height I'm admitting to; maybe if I ever reach goal I'll measure myself and see if I need a new goal. LOL!)

Greetings. I am home from work. It seems the school had to be closed for deep cleaning and sanitizing. A janitor's assistant who was asymptomatic at the time he worked throughout the building became sick with minor symptoms that night and tested positive. Sounds a little like Pam's report on the individual who didn't want to give up appointment.

I did see Maryanne's Gov and mine on the national news this morning discussing vaccine distribution.

I don't have anything exciting to report. With the snow coming in tonight, visiting Helene in Florida sounds like an idea but fantasy.

Went to check on my Giant Food delivery online. Found a banner about vaccinations. Clicked on the banner and then on a link to their "set an appointment" website (an outside 3rd party apparently). Said 45 minute wait so I set a timer and went about my business. After 45 minutes guess what? Blank screen with large red letters saying no appointments available.

Fed the colonies - now I'm ready to settle in and work for the day - unless I sit in the basement and just admire my handiwork! LOL!

I'm having a Jenny Craig day today. Boy, that food has gone downhill. It struck me as I was straightening/pitching that there's no reason not to use up the good stuff that I've got before it eventually gets too old to use.

I've still got the packets upstairs to organize and a few corners I want to tackle and then mostly I just wait until it's time to use up the non diet stockpile to get my house back. I know underneath is the nicely decluttered house I spent the summer of 2019 creating.

Sometimes the truth just slips out of these idiots' mouths:

Tucker Carlson Rails Against White Nationalist Crackdown, Warns Viewers: That’s You

The Fox News personality took exception to Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff’s call to prioritize law enforcement efforts against domestic white nationalist terrorism.

Watching Netflix while sorting; snow on the ground; Covid-19 positivity rate continues to decrease locally--not much but a decrease.

I was reading our Cape newspaper online this morning. Positivity rate is down to 4.2 percent. It was over 8 percent earlier in the month. I guess the holiday surge has passed finally. It also got cold and snowy there this week. I guess we left just in time. It’s balmy 70s here.
