Jean - I'm sorry you're going to have to have your knee replaced but it's good that you get some choice in timing.

The dentist says my broken tooth - which he sort of repaired - is holding so far. As long as it makes it to the "after times" I'll be happy!

Had to laugh at them. They tried to text a COVID form to my landline. So I had to fill it out while I was there. The girl wanted to know if I could do it on a tablet. I guess the fact that my landline doesn't accept texts makes me an old fogie.

I also had to laugh at the fact that the form has the answers filled in. You can change them but the "right" answers are obvious.

As usual the actual dentist and I had a nice conversation about his business and where businesses need to head in the "after times". He laughs at himself for choosing dentistry for job security.

Jack is home and sounding good! They flushed all the crap out of his "nose" (since we took off his nose that's just what I'm calling the opening). Yesterday all he wanted to do was sleep but today he's eating up a storm.

I had my semi-annual teeth cleaning yesterday. Tomorrow I will go back to have a filling bonded onto the tooth that chipped early on after the pandemic started last spring. I bit on a chip and a corner of one of my lower front teeth chipped off. It hasn’t caused me any problems, but the dentist thinks it is continuing to erode and may eventually become an issue, so I will go back tomorrow for him to fix it.

More and more of my friends who signed up at the same time I did, or in some cases after I did, have gotten appointments for their vaccines. I still have not received an appointment time. I will sign up again today. That will tell me if my registration has gotten lost or deleted from the system if my new registration is accepted.

They have just opened the vaccinations to those 70 and above here. I consider myself fortunate to be able to get mine based upon an "essential" group:

Maryland is still trying to get hospitals and nursing homes taken care of as far as I know. I know DH is watching it somewhat. I really haven't tuned in. I don't see it in my near term future.

Jean - love that it reports "in the zone". Too cool!

I'm still trying to get DH to focus on the fact that we don't just run to the store any more. He's so afraid of wasting a little something "he" paid for that he under orders and then complains.

I wondered both where the rioters were staying and where they were going to house all the national guard being called up. Forgot about this option:

Airbnb to cancel all D.C. reservations during inauguration week

This photo of national guard sleeping in the capital answers some of my questions.

It’s official. Impeached for the second time. 10 Republicans joined the Democrats to vote for impeachment. Historic day.

Now we just need to do something to (a) make sure he can never run for office, (b) make sure his kids can't run and (c) put him and his cronies in jail.

Ah, poor baby --- from the Post:

He has been banned on social media, shunned by foreign leaders, impeached (again) in the House, threatened with censure by Republicans, deserted by Cabinet members, turned on by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), canceled by his hometown of New York City, dropped by the PGA golf tour and snubbed by New England Patriots Coach Bill Belichick.

    ...

Trump won 74 million votes in the November election — the second-most ever behind President-elect Joe Biden’s 81 million — but Twitter, Facebook and YouTube have cut him off from easily reaching those supporters in the real-time stream of explosive, demeaning and sometimes dangerous missives that have defined his presidency. Three banks, two real estate companies and the 2022 PGA Championship tournament have severed ties with the Trump Organization at a time when Trump and his family are facing mounting pressure from massive financial debts.

    ...

Trump’s son Eric blamed the damage to the family business on liberal “cancel culture” ahead of Democratic New York Mayor Bill de Blasio’s announcement Wednesday that the city would cut $17 million in contracts with the Trump Organization over operations of two ice rinks, a golf course and the Central Park Carousel.

All I can say is, he and his entire family of grifters deserves everything coming their way, with the possible exception of Barron.

I see more of the family are pulling up stakes and moving to Florida--a state with somewhat liberal bankruptcy laws the last time I heard. My former neighbor took advantage of that by moving to Florida, purchasing property, and then a few months later declared bankruptcy. He kept his nice Florida property but lost the property here. Just speculation. Of course, it is warmer there than in New York.

This explains some of what I was wondering about with respect to "how does his stuff get moved?"

Talk about a kid with no hope.

I've had a lot of clients over the years like the cheeto whose parents were successful business people. The cheeto generation never has the same intelligence or fortitude or business prowess. They haven't needed to fight for what they get.

I don't recall ever having a client in what would be the Barron generation. But since there's no hope for his older sibs, and it appears Melania is right there with the cheeto, I give Barron no hope.

Why am I still surprised that SO MANY people have NO sense?

A new variant of the coronavirus emerged in Maryland for the first time this week after being detected in other states across the country.

An Anne Arundel County couple are quarantining at their house after one of them traveled to “multiple continents,” Gov. Larry Hogan said Tuesday at a State House news conference in Annapolis.

What were they thinking traveling overseas to several continents. I hope they didn’t bring any of the new variants back with the. I too feel for Barron. What chance does he have to grow up a normal, empathetic person with the family examples he has. Poor kid.

They did bring back a variant which is why they made the news.

Some people must find it easy to travel to these countries, have connections, or the time to meet quarantine requirements of various places. I read travel guides regarding entrance requirements to countries under Covid. It isn't easy. I t is a headache just trying to get into Hawaii. With minimum 14 day quarantine requirements in some places, people need many days for the trip, quarantine and then being able to enjoy a vacation.

DH keeps emailing me these long articles about Baltimore and vaccinations that basically say nothing useful. So I've challenged him to figure out if there's any sort of procedure for signing up.

My food plan for the day is frozen diet items. A little variety, if you will, from the shelf stable NS and packets.
