Thursday Greetings, Friends!
I had such a frustrating morning that there was nothing for it but to insist that my little dog, Edie, came with me for a bracing walk! Once outside, I relented and allowed her to snif out new smells in peace. I kept the walk on the level so she didn't have to struggle up any steps - after all, she is getting on! Meanwhile I enjoyed an entertaining podcast while Edie did her thing. I needed the practice walk anyway.
Talking of walking, @DD265 what walking event are you training for? I will be doing the 25K Thames Bridges Trek in September and wondered if you're doing it too? Oh, and well done on getting the pay rise you asked for - you obviously deserve it.
Like you, @gak71, I weigh myself every day. Then I calculate the average over 7 days. That way it doesn't really matter what my weigh in date is.
Going out earlier has exacerbated my hayfever somewhat, so I am now confined indoors with a box of tissues.
Enjoy the rest of your day, Friends!3 -

@kalaki6145 is already here! No need to re-register every month. Once you're in, you're stuck! Bwahahaha!0 -
@jugar I’ve never been around horses so it’s funny to read your post about “mare nirvana”!
hilarious! My son in law came home from the hospital yesterday. He looks good except for the fact that he lost 14 pounds while in the hospital. The first hospital was literally starving him. Duke Hospital made all the difference. They found the bleeding and stopped it. Poor guy had 6 transfusions. So he weighs less than me and is 6’4”. I need to feed that boy now.
I weighed myself this morning and was 196.5. Not bad after a week or so like we just had. I think I will still take an excused this week as I am trying to regroup. I will post a starting weight for May though. Does that make sense @jugar? I’ll have to check the spreadsheet because I honestly don’t remember what my last weigh in was. 🤪 Don’t want to mess up your green.
I think it is best to leave the EXC for this week - even though you only changed by 0.2 lb! Just post a weigh-in Saturday or Sunday, and that will be your starting weight for May. No worries about all the lovely green! And wow, there is a lot of it this week.I weigh every morning and usually take a sneak peak at bedtime to see how I did during the day. The fluctuations are maddening! During May I’d like to cut back to once per week.
Different times on the same day can be wildly different - so no sneak peeking! If you want to weigh daily, it is best to stick with the same time every day, or you'll be going crazy trying to keep track of the fluctuations. And we can't have that! It's always a tricky choice - daily gives you the best heads-up if you want feedback to see if you're needing any adjustments (as long as you remember all the factors), but weekly can be less worrisome. More than once a day or not being consistent about time of day probably is not the best, though. And as @YinxFed says, some people weigh daily but post an average of the week's weigh-ins. Up to you!
I had better go get on the mat our out for a walk! Having a day of mad house cleaning - my taller half's asthma is very bad right now, so it's crazy cleaning time. I need to get outside for a bit5 -
@YinxFed We're doing the Edale Skyline walk in the Peak District. I've done Edale>Hope before, but this is all the way around the tops. The Edale Skyline is a classic Peak District hillwalking adventure. Tackle several summits on this circular walk surrounding the beautiful Vale of Edale. A challenging 20-mile route with a tough 1,200m of ascent requiring a good level of fitness and lots of determination.
We were supposed to do it last year but restrictions prevented it; we're fairly confident it'll go ahead in September though. The climb doesn't bother me, it's the duration which is potentially 10 hours. The longest walk we did last year was almost 18 miles if I recall correctly - at that time I think I weighed half to a stone less than I do now, (I deleted all my history from WW so who knows) and I'll be lower than that this year, plus I think the running and strength training I'm doing will be helping. Ultimately it's time on feet, and good walking boots, that will make the difference though.

@ashleycarole86 Here's a picture of Edie. She's a Jack Russell cross. She's a rescue dog and we've had her for 12 years, so she's quite old. ❤

Congratulations, that’s my next goal but still about 20 pounds away!5 -
@Megan_smartiepants1970 Thank you for accepting me into this group. It's my first time participating in a FP challenge. Do I draft my bio now or wait until May?
I feel like I can relate to @steph1498. Last year, I was getting close to my GW of 122. Now, I am back at 143. Let's help each other stay on track ☺️4 -

Hey - at really close to a 12 pound loss for the month, you are not only no longer overweight, you are a role model. That's kind of like a super model. WTG!2 -

Welcome to you! Please post your bio now, or you can wait until tomorrow when I open up the May team chat threads - up to you! It is kind of nice to have them all at the beginning of the month's thread, so you could even do both
SO many of us got close to goal and bounced back for a while. I'm happy to say it is not a permanent problem! It took me a long time to get to goal, but I have been hanging out there for quite a few years now. Even though it is still something I have to work at and keep an eye on, it does get easier. Promise!4 -

Sorry for the upswing this month. I haven’t been on track for exercise and food intake and the scale shows it. And so do my jeans... but it’s ok May will be sunny and I will get after it.
The Jeans know all and tell all... sometimes they are that friend who is brutally honest and makes us change our ways! Sunny weather will help!Ellz_runs

This is beautiful! You will enter Onederland in June at this rate - that will be a fun party for sure!6 -
Way to finish the month strong Waistaways! Looking forward to sunny May and all the outdoor activities it will bring. My finger is healing faster than I expected, I can almost hold a coffee mug without noticing, so a dumbbell won't be too far behind!5

I seem to be holding strong at the 160 mark... it’s been a very stressful couple of weeks.. some of you that have been in the group for awhile May remember my move from Ohio to Georgia and the house build... WELLLLL the house is FINALLYYY done after almost 8 months and we have been moving in over the past few days... sorry I have been so absent. Once I get settled in, in a week or two my goal is to be more present in this group and start working out again. I am so excited to be in the house but there is sooo much work to do...3
