Hi everyone. Man has this week been a whirlwind of activity! I apologize for not getting in here for my daily posts. I feel like I've been on the move non stop with out of state family being here for my cousin's college graduation and it being the last week of my son's preschool and him having a graduation. I haven't seen this family in over a year so that's been fun though. My steps for the week don't really reflect how busy I felt I was. Most days was just travelling to my parent's to see family members that were gonna be there that day in between getting my son to and from school. They all came in at different times haha. Things should settle down now after this weekend. My son's last day of school was yesterday and we have 2 weeks before summer camp starts. Gonna have to find ways to keep him busy!

Just got back from the surgeon ....staples are all out .... he says it looks good ... I can resume to walking (which I am going to wait until June just to play it safe) and no lifting heavy things for another week or 2 ...I am done seeing that Dr unless I get another hernia (crosses eyes, fingers and toes) that doesn't happen ...it is still bruised and it burns inside of me other than that I am gooooooooood5

@TheresaM787
Is it okay if I weigh in a day early this week? I will not have access to a scale so my weight tomorrow would be the same as today anyway.

@lmf1012
Yes, I just added it onto the spreadsheet for you. Congratulations on your loss👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 That was a fantastic idea, walking while they were doing an oil change. Great way to sneak in some extra steps 🎉🎉
@Megan_smartiepants1970
Yayyyy!! No more staples. So long Doc! Good idea, listening to your body and not trying to walk too soon - especially YOUR type of walking. 😆
@Tazaria87
My goodness you've had a busy week! Sounds like it was fun though. Plus you were still able to get those steps in. Good luck keeping your son busy. It's such a fun age!
@Piqueaboo
Oh my goodness, the same thing happens when we visit my parents or when they come here. Between my mom's amazing cooking and all of the extra "Cheers" "Salude" "Prost" "Avotre Sante"... the pounds return. You did really well though, like you said it could have been a lot more. I'm glad you're not worried, it will drop off again - especially with all of your new habits 🤗
@Poobah1972
Your fiancé sounds incredibly supportive. That's so wonderful that she's there to help you along your weight loss journey/adventure.

I was able to get in an almost 2 1/2 mile walk this morning by the water. Surprisingly, vacuuming and mopping the house gave me quite a bit of steps. When I saw the steps, I started stepping side to side while folding a big of laundry. More steps. We didn’t get to go out for our evening walk, which was ok because Fridays are Family Game Movie Night (woo hoo) and I already hit my 10,000 steps.
I’ve discovered that in order for me to hit the 10,000 steps I need to go on 4 mile walks (all at once or broken apart into two mini walks). I don’t rack up enough steps at home- unless I vacuum and mop daily (no thank you).
Whee you go for a walk. what do you listen to?3 -
Update to my previous post- went over my calories during family game movie night.2
-
@TheresaM787
Game night sounds wonderful. Worth the extra calories. Love all those green checks. When I fold laundry I put one piece of clothing away at a time. It adds quite a few steps. I haven’t been listening to music lately as I lost my dongle. I have the weirdest play list. I listen to a lot of 80’s, a few currents and some Newfoundland music. I also have a little country on there. Very weird. I want to buy some airpods but I have lots of wants.
@Piqueaboo
When I go home to Newfoundland some weight gain is a given. We go for a month so lots of food. We haven’t gone for 2 years because of pandemic. My biggest killer is the homemade bread. Yum! Are you still skipping.
@Megan_smartiepants1970 @rwood566 @lmf1012
Nice loss! You guys all are putting maximum effort and it is paying off.
@Poobah1972
Did you take your blood sugar again before you ate? When mine go that low I have to treat them as I feel terrible. I hope your blood work gives you answers. Love that your fiancé is taking good care of you.
@Tazaria87
I love reading your guys stories about able to see family and friends. It gives me hope that Canada will soon be in the same position. Sounds like it was an enjoyable week.

Friday’s check in
✅Steps 7,000
❌Sleep
✅Walk
❌Physio 1/2
Yesterday was one of those days that I was so tired it was like walking under water. I realized at 9 pm I hadn’t done my physio. At least I got one set done. I am not going for an intentional walk but I am taking my oldest granddaughter to do a river cleanup today. It’s not a group cleanup due to COVID but it is part of her high school classes. I think it should count as a walk right?
I am off grocery shopping. I moved the hello fresh to the middle of June as I totally forgot Garry is having his teeth extractions on Thursday and it would be too much food for me.
Happy Saturday!4 -

No real workout but took a walk with my husband since he was off yesterday. It was nice we had lunch together down by the sea wall. I hate when he has to work weekends but his days off when the kids are in school are Kindof nice. Son had baseball again last night. We have his sports every day with a break on Wednesday I think. I am not the beat sports mom but he needs it and loves it.2 -
Saturday Afternoon All...
Truth be told I was kind a grumpy and not feeling myself yesterday afternoon, or all day for that matter. Perhaps the low blood sugar was messing me and I didn't want to admit it. Blood sugar was 130 this morning, so I went from Low blood sugar to high blood sugar (Diabetic levels) over night. This is bothering me, and probably a good reason for me to restrict carbs for the rest of my life. (Maybe once I loose another 100+ pounds things will improve... Lets hope). 👍
Anyway Very busy morning this morning.... Grocery shopping as per usual. And after that Lynn and I have been working to fully assemble the elliptical… It's a beast of machine. Were just about done. WE just came back up for a lunch time snack, and were about to get back down there and finish it off.
Then Dumbbell Stand... Cleanup etc... And call it another day.
Oh my foot is feeling pretty good at the moment... Just a bit tight, but I'm not sure what is wrong? Was it gout? Or was it something related to the low blood sugar? Some other kind of arthritis... Either way I think I'm good to walk...But I really don't want to walk on Sunday. lol
Oh I tried my Knee Brace on today... Didn't fit. At least a size if not 2, too small. Kind of sucks. Cause Now I need another one, and do I get 5xl or take a chance on 4xl. Toughy... maybe I'll get one of each? And I can just grow into them over time?
Kay I better get back to work.
Cheers everyone! 😎

Weight is now back to what it was before my week of stress binging before the grafts. I do not know if it was waste, water, muscle or fat or all four lost, but it reduces one of my great fears of regaining because my movement is limited. Am looking forward to the body composition scan on Monday. I don't expect a low body fat percentage but want a baseline to compare to in the future and an idea of how much more weight I should try to lose in the present.4

Hi everybody. I’m keeping it simple today. Things feel like they are on the upswing. Work is winding down - we have 8 school days left!! And things at home with my roommate/best friend are better. It’s been really good talking to my therapist and talking to, and hanging out with my coworkers that I love. Having breaks and space is really valuable for me because I’m such an introvert, that having a person in my space all the time everyday is overwhelming, and it started taking a toll. Fortunately, I think I’m figuring out to how to adjust.
My weight is frustrating- I can’t seem to actually get through this plateau. My weight is either the same or going up. Grrr….

Today was my son's day to choose anything he wanted to do for the entire day. He wanted to go out for breakfast (by the time they are up and ready on the weekend, it's more like brunch), go to "the really big book store" (there is a 2-story Barnes and Noble about 30 minutes away from us, two smaller ones within 15 minutes of us), get boba tea, and go out to dinner.
So, breakfast (brunch/lunch) I ate - oh boy. Pancakes, yes please. Eggs over easy, two please. Biscuits and gravy, uh huh. We didn't eat lunch, because we ate brunch so close to lunch. We walked around the book store, looked at a bunch of books. Walked around the mall. Drove to get boba teas. I had a seltzer, while the rest of the family had boba teas. We walked around some more stores. My husband went to look in a tool store, I took the kids to the car. Instead of waiting in the car, I decided to get some steps in while waiting for him, by walking circles around my car. Went to dinner. There was a 30-minute wait. Parked the car, left the family inside the car playing DJ, and I walked the parking lot until I hit 10,500 steps!!
The day was MUCH longer than anticipated. By the time we got home, we were all way too tired to play Dungeons and Dragons. We crashed on the couch and watched a movie. I don't know how anyone walks so much, my legs are so tired.
Happy Saturday!5 -

Sorry that I haven't been too active replying to posts. It has been a rough, stressful and busy week. Today from early morning until this evening, I was with my mom at the hospital. She had to be admitted today. It's hard to see her sick, but I know she is getting good care and will be better. I just want to numb the feelings with food. I did a little bit but didn't go way overboard with it.3

@TheresaM787 excellent idea to keep the kids involved in the family activities. You play D&D? Sweet.
@iradi8 sorry about your mom. I hope she gets better. Nice steps.
@red1185 I'm glad things are turning around. Enjoy your summer break.
@Beautyofdreams grats on the weight. You're doing great. How are the grafts coming?
Check in for 5/15:
Steps - 2961. It was more but I had to hold onto the rails at the gym.
Calories - about 1650. Had an orange for dessert.
Exercise - went to the gym at 6am. Walked 10 min for warmup then 8 machines.
Sadly saw first hand the urbanization of wildlife. A little rabbit was eating part of a fitness bar someone tossed on the ground. Loved watching him until the gym opened.
Remember, Sunday is do something good for your neighbor day.5 -
