Thursday’s check in
✅Steps 8,503
✅Sleep
✅Walk
✅Physio 2/2
I had a call from a doctor from the COVID study I am in. They are referring me to a cognitive physiologist to help with my memory especially my recall. One more thing to help lower my anxiety as I was really worried about my memory problems. Speaking of anxiety, it is really improving. I think changing the way I was eating and spending the weekend with the grandkids helped. On the eating, overall I am sticking to the menu I set out and (knock on wood) it has helped with the night time eating.
I know, crazy steps for me. I did my normal walk, lots of busy work around the apartment and I walked to the dentist in the evening to meet Garry. I was in a lot of pain last night so I was waking a bit but overall I had a good sleep.
It’s starting to get steamy outside so I got to get out for my walk. I know I need to go as soon as I get up but I just don’t function until that second cup of coffee kicks in.
Happy Friday!4 -
Thank you so much for your supportive comments Theresa and Linda @TheresaM787
@lindamtuck2018 - they warmed my heart to read and is appreciated. Love the podcast insight, it's very true on the coulda woulda shoulda aspects of life, isn't it? I'm trying to think of it more as everything happens for a reason and when it's meant to be it will be. I know from my past experience and I have no doubt it's been the same for others, that with weight loss journeys there comes a moment in time one day or evening where the lightbulb turns on, it's a distinctive feeling where it just finally clicks in your mind and you say enough is enough. Until that specific feeling/click happens, the yoyoing of falling on and off the wagon continues, as I saw last year.. all part of the journey, however. Yes, I will do Linda I wish I could find evidence of my highest ever weight, could of sworn I had it somewhere, but I was possibly too mortified or thought that'd be changing as soon as possible to document it at the time.
Whilst on one of the Zooms last night, a comment stood out in the fact of in this very moment is the youngest you'll ever be etc. I've always had weight issues, but thinking back to when I was at my smallest adult weight in uni, sure I still had insecurities, but I feel like when you are closer to a healthier weight for yourself, the feelings of being seen as massively overweight when around others can decrease somewhat. Maybe that's an aspect from gaining more confidence in self by being healthier or could also be fitting more into the societal standards of what beauty "should be" today, who knows. Above all else, I know I'm a good person5 -
@mszoueb I've learned that what you are feeling is normal for us fat people. I had it bad when i was starting my journey. I hid inside my house all day and would only walk after dark so my neighbors wouldn't see me. This was a year before covid. What made it worse was that the sidewalks were jutting up everywhere and my flashlight was weak so there were tripping hazards. I took those over my neighbor's stares. I had already lost 50 pounds.
@mszoueb on a happier note, congrats on finding your shoulder bones. it's fun to find things we've lost for a long time. i still remember when i felt a tumor in my side that turned out to be a hip.

yesterday's drop was real since i barely bounced up today. even after 26 months of losing weight i still question my large drops but not question my large gains. i forgot to mention that i dropped 2.8 lbs yesterday.5 -
@mszoueb i just saw your post from this morning and you are right about the feelings decreasing. i just went over 250 lbs lost yesterday but i still feel nervous when i'm out in groups. i still put myself out there because i need to and i want to, but i look at my body probably harsher than those around me. i know at this point it's more loose, flappy skin rather than fat that is making me look ugly. while i was standing in line yesterday i saw 2 women looking at me, or at something directly behind me. part of me wanted to cover up, part of me wanted to confront them, and part of me wanted to ignore them. i'm very glad the last part won this time. it hasn't always been the case. YOU WILL GAIN MORE CONFIDENCE IN YOUR SELF IMAGE. YOU HAVE BEEN WORKING SO LONG AND HARD ON IMPROVING. Thank you for posting that. It is letting me confront myself on that topic.5

@mszoueb - I was thinking about what you said about being self conscious. When I just thought about it, for quite awhile I knew I was overweight and not happy with how I looked but when the switch flipped for me and I got serious about changing that was when I actually felt way more self conscious. It's as if making the decision highlighted my flaws because I was now consciously making an effort to change how I looked. Not sure if that makes any sense!
@rwood566 - awesome loss!!! Human bodies are so weird, I also question when I have a "big" one day drop. I just spent 8 days hovering within .2 of my weight and then suddenly this morning I am down 1.2 lbs.
@lindamtuck2018 - good to hear you're seeing some anxiety relief! I also find it helpful to have meals planned out, it reduces a lot of stress for me and increases the likelihood of me not falling off the wagon!7 -
Super Duper Friday Y'all!
Like my beautiful fiancé, I also decided months ago, to take this Friday off. I Generally take a time off around this week of the year. Normally I take the 4 days off on the short week. But we are pegged at work, and that was out of the question this year.
Anywhooo.... I'm really glad I took the day off exercise yesterday. Cause I was nice and fresh this morning. 8 whole hours of sleep "WHOOOT WOOOOT!". Poobah, the little train that could is firing on all cylinders this morning. 😆😀👍💪😉
I put on my knee braces this morning on my own... Took a while lol, I may have to consider getting my *kitten* up even earlier just to strap on. (um okay, no! but I'll definitely need to move my *kitten* a little quicker). I got the left (the one with more issues) one on pretty much perfect, and really tight. It felt good, lots of support. I could of done a better job on the right one... Next time.
I killed it out there today... Pushed hard, kept my ticker going as best I could. When I thought I was done, I looked at my watch and figured I must of miss counted and needed another lap to complete 5... So, I made the turn and did another. Turns out I didn't miss count and I completed 6 laps in less time than it originally took me to do 5. OH YES!!! 😎
Granted I finally started to slow down on the last one a bit especially on that last uphill... Although I think my heart rate monitor began to screw up a little again... But WHATEVER!!! 😋😛💖👍💪
I'm okay with 24 calls per minute... and 722 burned. I'd like to see how many other people in the Community in which I live could move a 420-pound body over 1.2 miles in 30 minutes? Huh? Show me that? 😳🤣😆😎
51 Zone minutes and 70 Zone minutes when my cool down was complete all by 7:30 am this morning. 🙂
The beast is beginning to wake... Watch out world! 🙂
So, what's on tap for the rest of the day? Soon as I'm done here, It's bread making time. Then we got a pick up a few more things for Festivities Tonight and Tomorrow, including King Crab to go with they Wagyu Beef for my birthday. (this dang supper is going to cost over 200 per plate. lol, and i don't care. 😛 You only live once right?)
And then I need to sneak some snuggles time in with my most amazing Fiancé who makes this journey we share so much more enjoyable!
Great Big Hugs, Love and joy to all you guys! *Mauh* *Mauh* *Mauh* 💕

@meagan the 3006 is for this morning. 1542 is yesterdays (rest day). It's all good. But yeah, go ahead and remove my pledge. I'm completely content and motivated by what I'm doing, I definitely don't give a lick in regards to steps and I enjoy my rest days. lol3

Another good step day with a couple of walks and some stuff around the house. Weather has been phenomenal this week here. My days are filled with errands so I can barely remember what I did the day before when I go to write this. Still finnishing decorating the new rooms here. I keep thinking how did I do everything when I worked full time. Theres days I have to make lists or I forget everything. I hope I can manage when I do get back to work. Jobs in my industry should start to increase with restrictions gone here in the US and the job market improving.7 -

Got the house all cleaned up- dishes done, hard wood floors and carpets vacuumed, cleaned the laundry room where the kitty litter was, sprayed and wiped down all the kitchen counters. I love walking out in the morning to a clean house!
Today is grocery shopping day. I just finished lunch and we will be leaving soon for that. It looks like I'll probably end up with a gain for the week at weigh in tomorrow. I have gone down after my eating free for all, but not all the way. We will see tomorrow I suppose.7 -

Big surprise, I gained again. I wanted to skip the weigh in today because I know how badly I’m doing but I’m going to not ignore it and take accountability. I’m finally going home tomorrow and it’s about time. I hope I can undo the damage quickly.
And yes, I’m still skipping! I think that helped some of the damage stay away haha!
I also secured my vaccination dates, I’m so happy about that!
Ps: sorry for the delay, I’ve been running around all day!

@rwood566
Awesome loss! Losing over 250 pounds is impressive. That has to have been an incredible journey. What helps you to stay so focused?
@Poobah1972
An extra lap with better time! Yahoo! I have said this before but you are doing so great with your walk. Enjoy your birthday celebrations! Happy Birthday! 🥳
@Megan_smartiepants1970
Nice loss!
@rlaskey2
Great steps! I always think how to you guys do everything and have kids around. When the grandkids are over I get nothing done and they are messy creatures.
@Tazaria87
Great job meeting all those goals! Mowing the lawn is great exercise. It would burn lots of calories. A clean house always feels great.
@Piqueaboo
It is hard when we are not in our own environment. I am glad you kept up with your skipping.

@Piqueaboo
It's really hard when we aren't home without distractions. Look at that great accomplishment of a 36 pounds loss and still skipping 😃 You'll be back to your regular routine soon. Safe travels home.
@roz0810
Nice job getting in those steps.
@Tazaria87
Well done with all of those ✅s and getting all of the housework done. You'll be back to where you want to be soon Ashley.
@rlaskey2
Phenomenal step day Rachel!! It sounds like you've been so extremely busy. Yes, I'm the same way. Even my kids will say, "if it's not written down, it's not getting done."
@Megan_smartiepants1970
Another loss while recuperating, you're a machine!!
@Poobah1972
6 laps! You've been killing it out there. Love that, yes- I'd like to see them do that too 😆 More proof that you're slaying it every day.
@rwood566
Congratulations on the spectacular loss of 3.6 pounds👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 and for staying on this healthy path for 26 months.

You're right, I think that's it. It's incredible how we are so critical of ourselves. 🤗 You know what's important, and I'm glad you see that. Thank you for staying on the path 🤗
@lindamtuck2018
All ✅'s!! Way to go Linda 👏🏻👏🏻 I'm glad you're starting to feel better, grandkids have that power - plus, all of the extra exercise you've been getting, and the sleep, and the new eating plan. I hope Garry is feeling better and your pain went away. Yes, it's hard to get out walking until I've downed coffee. I'm the same way.0 -
