Connie, I need to add that to my to do list. Go thru my freezer and toss some things too. I did buy a pack of thighs yesterday with a proper soup in mind and perhaps a chicken and rice dish I haven't made in over 20 years. I want to cook that calf liver soon too. I'll make a list and make my kitchen user friendly again...I was sad to toss Wednesday's soup but over-all it wasn't my greatest case of wasting!

I did hamburgers again on my GF grill last night. The bun stays together better when toasted on the grill, it seems. I did have dessert...2 pumpkin bars with cool-whip. I'll put the second box of bars in my neighbor bag I'm working on. They are not "wonderful" and I'd prefer that my sugar calories be so. LOL

Okay, the recipe that I see is chicken broth (pref. low sodium), flour, and milk. I really need to make a pot of my own using my coconut or oat flour and my coconut milk. I need to really make sure that I am eating less flour and dairy because it does cause some problems that I would rather not have. I may just have to make two pots because Wade can taste the coconut in the flour and in the milk (I can't) and doesn't like it. Good idea, thanks, Connie.

Didn't eat well today but did get 850 steps in, so am happy with that.

I really need to get more of my Wee Walks in each day! I may start with a circle of the pool area in the mornings or of my building section to work on my balance and stability. I'll use my cane for assistance but I need to just Do It! I've been very achy of late and need to use these muscles while I can....I want to apply more energy to the days I have left.
I have plans of getting 4 loads of laundry done Tue/Wed, while off, vacuuming, cleaning and cooking something. I did 2 of the chicken thighs in the air fryer last night. It was just OK. I put a bit of BB-Q sauce on them to perk them up. I'll put 4 in a pot of soup tomorrow and have 4 in the freezer for later. I'm used to my boneless, skinless pieces so these were like wings to me.

Lunch today will be low carb tortillas (2) with deli roast beef and a slice of pepper jack cheese, warmed in the microwave. I would have liked some salad or veggies but the Lazy Girl in me didn't want to bother before work and my back was whining already, getting trash out and dropping my electric bill in the office slot. I have the rent set up to auto draft on the 1st so that's taken care of.

While I have a hard time believing we are at the door to November already...I am thankful! Praying that next year will be an improvement, tho outside of God's intervention...that's a vague hope. Our nation is in so much trouble. :(

Oh hooya! After seeing a post on a Frugal Living site and someone's question about doing laundry service to make some extra money....I found a laundry service not far from me....2 streets over and up....will do a free pick up and delivery of your laundry, wash and fold for $1.75 a pound. I am willing and able to afford this right now and it will be such an awesome blessing to be caught up for the first time in 2 years or so.

I told Sharon I would be paring down on sheet sets and clothes a lot when I retire and she asked for the excess sheets for her sons, who both have queen beds. Works great for me as they would go to Goodwill otherwise. I hope to have a full tub to pass off to her.

Kim my recipe for the soup also calls for unsalted butter, and I use unsalted broth. I have done it with corn starch, so you might try that. I like the flour a bit better.

Well, I guess leftovers did me good today! I even got a piece of string cheese snuck in there. I can't do that often due to sat fats.

Thanks for the tips, Connie. I think our butter is unsalted! The broth isn't, but I use both in my soup, so getting rid of the cream of chicken soup (for me at least) will help with the sodium quite a bit.

Will start my holiday challenge tomorrow, today was a bust!

My day ! was off base. I didn't have lunch until 1:00, unbalanced as it was...Saltines with 2 slices of cheese and the last of my Moon drop grapes. Dinner was off the rails and a night where nothing was "wonderful". I had some twos and one three in the mix. Nothing was the illusive five. LOL

Back at it today with a plan in place, advance tracking done and all that. Have a blessed day, Ladies.

So as it is a new month thought I would share what the goals are for November 2021

    (1) want to lose 1 pound per week in November

    (2) want to keep my food journal going - I log on at MFP food tracker making notes in the note area of things that I am working on plus any other notes such as a gratitude for the day

    (3) continue to measure all my food

    (4) 3 meals each day, no snacks only eating at meal time, no sugar no flour

    NOTE:

September 21 I weighed in at my TOPS meeting at 269
November 2 I weighed in at my TOPS meeting at 261.6

That gives me a loss of 5.3 pounds in 7 weeks - am pleased with the progress. Goals is to be at 257 by December 14 and I am sure I will make that plus some

Okay, Marilyn, what am I missing. It looks like you've lost 7.4 pounds from Sept. 21-Nov. 14. Either way, that is so awesome and I'm so happy for you! You are staying dedicated and that is a good thing. Keep up the good work.

I need to do more chaffles. Cheese isn't good for me, but I can do some parmesan (it goes farther taste-wise) and I have some cheese flavored nutritional yeast that I can add to it for flavor. Add some meat and I have a good meal! I think I'll do that for lunch today!

I love chaffles, but have stayed away from them since I am not watching carbs. They actually have a lot of calories, so toast has a lot less calories, although it does have carbs. I haven't tried them with all egg-white, but I know that would work fine.

No walking yesterday and possibly not today either. Had fried shrimp and french fries last night at a birthday party at a pizza place here - the least bready/cheesy thing I could find!

My kidney Dr. had to reschedule my December 7th appt. as he will be out of the office. I will see his NP again on my birthday...the 13th. I need to schedule my PCP follow up for February...will do that soon.

I had to take my verified letters to the post office so grabbed lunch at McDonald's....a burger with extra veggies and boy howdy, did they do good! It was like a Salad Burger! Oh yum...no fries but I did get my iced tea and extra ice. I'm a happy camper.

I've not increased my activity yet and I feel pretty awful most days...so exhausted, in so much pain. Tomorrow and Wednesday, I have laundry planned so will be asking Jesus to help me get it done. I am so far behind! Need to vacuum, change sheets, general cleaning and restoration of peace and calm to my spaces.

I did get trash out on my way to work and that's a "big" chore. Compared to laundry tho, it's miniscule! LOL I need to push myself to get my tasks attended to.

I did get some steps in yesterday, about 800. I walked slowly. I'm planning on walking again today.

Eating has been pretty good as well, but I do need to work on cutting out one of the snacks I have at night!

Hope you are all having a great day - taking time to remember all the Veterans and what they have done for us.

@Restfinder you mention my post re what I had lost. Should have clarified it. Here is the days and the amount I had lost

Sept 21 I weighed in at 269 with a loss of 1.2 for that week

Sep 28 I weighed in at 266.8 with a loss of 2.2 for that week

Oct 5 I weighed in at 265.6 with a loss of 1.2 for that week

Oct 12 I weighed in at 264.8 with a loss of 0.8 for that week

Oct 19 I weighed in at 263.8 with a loss of 1.0 for that week

Oct 26 I weighed in at 263.4 with a loss of 0.4 for that week

Nov 2 I weighed in at 261.6 for a loss of 1.8 for that week AND FINALLY

Nov 9 I weighed in at 257.4 with a loss of 4.2 for the week making a total of 12.8 👍️

My goal was set at losing 12 pounds by December 14 - so I have done that now just to keep it off and lose more. Am looking forward to losing some again this week but as it was a large number on Tuesday I would think it might not be a full pound this coming week but as long as it is a loss I will feel good.

We are enjoying our new members of the family - they have adjusted so well. Toby will be going in on Saturday for a bath = 1st one in over 2 years. Bella will have hers done next week.

At any rate am feeling good - reading all the messages - thinking of all of you

Going to try to post a picture here of them - hope this works

A tad high on carbs, and a bit higher than my norm in calories, but the chicken and noodles were worth it. I just run out of non red meat stuff that my husband enjoys. He doesn't enjoy many veggies, so I can't bulk up the meals with healthy stuff, so carbs wind up high once in a while.

I am so very thankful...to have round one of laundry done...God was and IS always...my strength. I used my cane, was quite unstable and in pain of course....

I put on another pot of chicken soup in the crock pot...with FRESH chicken this time....used up 4 partial bags of assorted veggies. I'm waiting for it to simmer well before I add the can of hot and spicy V-8....and I'd like to add some slaw mix to it tonight for dinner. I love greens of some sort in my soup...cabbage or Kale my go to choices. My goal is to free up some freezer space so it can breathe properly and last night's dinner emptied 2 more bags....fries and chicken strips. There were only 2 of those in the bag. I'll have some containers for the freezer when I scoop the soup up.

I had breakfast: Jimmy Dean delight bowl with egg whites and turkey sausage crumbles...added some of my favorite veggy blend and a bit more cheese. It was SO good! It's a Mexican blend of small diced broccoli, corn, cauliflower and carrots. I love it in my Ramen as well. Love my veggies!

I got my shower, hacked 4 inches of hair off...wadding it up in scrunchies has been so painful and difficult, with this left shoulder out of commission. I need/want to go shorter so may pop into Super Cuts for a proper trim soon.

This is sale week and I'm off tomorrow and Tuesday...Oh Joy! I will see if I can get more laundry and home chores out of me...get some good movement in, collections/decluttering done and work on my retirement notes some.

Wishing you all a blessed and lovely day!

Thanks for the clarification, Marilyn. You are doing great! Your babies are so cute. I like the little pig statue too. I bought my husband a piggy bank that the Boys and Girls Club had made at least 35 years ago - it broke the other day! :'(

So cold out - snow has melted a bit but far to cold to my liking. Roads are still closed, they have started to air lift food to some communities that are really suffering. Were I am ( in the interior of the province and to the east of most of the damage) we are doing ok but people have paniced and therefore the shelves are pretty much empty of all food - eggs, fresh produce, ect. We haven't had any eggs, butter, flour for over a week and of course the stores have sold out of yeast can't even make bread - thankfully I gave up bread a long time ago so hubby and daughter are dealing with not having any. Every morning he has gone out the major stores to see what he could find - and today he found one dozen eggs for $8 - 2 weeks ago 1 dozen eggs cost just under $4 so the stores have up the price already. The store has put a limit to one dozen per family with no one being able to purchase any more for 1 week - not sure how they will work that unless they have good memories but am thankful we found 1 dozen. We do have our order of beef coming from our daughter that lives 5 hours away just need to find a way to get it to us now with the road closures. Thought we would have it this weekend but unless our daughter drives down tomorrow just for the day it looks like we will have to wait for a week - which is ok just concerned as they are telling us another horrendous storm is coming in this week bringing in another change of an atmospheric river change for the northern parts of the province which is where she lives - am praying this will not happen but we are taking it one day at a time.

@Restfinder - yes I think our rescue dogs are so sweet and cute. And the pig - he is one of over 300 that I have - I only know it is that number as one of our grandsons counted them during the summer - there are 24 of of them that are large like the one in the picture and the rest are smaller - been collecting them now for 37 years - was not my intentions to have so many but after the first 3 people just kept bringing me more - especially hubby as every time he would go out to a store if he found an unusual one he brought it home. Running out of space for them now so he is slowing down in buying them but knowing him like I do should he find one that is interesting / different he will bring it for me.

Well it is time to make supper - something I don't - chicken fingers - due to the flour - but the stores are out of fresh chicken and our freezer is no empty of it also - hopefully we will be able to purchase some soon to fill up the freezer somewhat - and our 1/4 of a hind of beef is ready as I mentioned just need to get it to us. So tonight's dinner is not as healthy as planned (4 oz of chicken fingers, 4 oz boiled potato, 7 oz of vegetables) but we need to make due with what we can find.

Take care everyone - remember to track your food here on MFP as it does help with the weight loss.

@Connierandel - thanks for the comment re our fur babies - we think they are cute. The male (the white one) has had his 1st bath in over 2 years plus the groomer shaved him down which we didn't want done but glad he is now clean. The one good thing about her giving him a bath and shaving him is we discovered he has an allergy - $143 of meds later and he seems to be so much happier - he is no longer scratching and is really taking to his new food which should get rid of the scratching. Has been 1 week since he was groom and the curls are starting to come back so we have a lot of daily grooming of him - and then the female being a Pom needs to be groomed daily. The groomer said she would shave her also so we are not taking her in to her rather we are getting equipped to bath her here at home - have the brush and comb needed, along with a dryer just need to pick up the special shampoo for sensitive skin along with a condition that detangles the hair so it will make it easier to blow dry her hair. She is our little diva and is so funny - they both are - can't imagine after 19 days not having them in our live - actually Norm has just gone out to make a grocery trip to see if he could find butter and he as taken Toby with him - should be interesting to see how he makes out when he returns - Bella is in our daughters bedroom sleeping so she is unaware they are not here otherwise the diva act would come out of whining because she missed a car ride.

I haven't been commenting often, but I am checking in on a daily basis. I have been staying true to my nutrition plans for about 6 days a week, with the exception of a few extra carbs here and there. One cheat day a week has happened, instead of a cheat meal, but I am within 5 pounds of goal, so I'm not obsessing over it. After all -COOKIES. Anyone that knows me knows that I love cookies. I say I am a cookie-a-holic. I do fine if I don't eat a cookie, but if I eat one, I just can't seem to stop.

Anyway, yesterday was left-over day, so was just a few carbs higher than my norm.

Those soft cookies covered in royal icing are my nemesis! Wade will pick some up for me now and again and I make them last the whole week - ugh. A friend brought some to our lunch on Sunday and I ate a very small one and left the big pumpkin one for someone else - what was I thinking???

Eating fairly well six days a week... Still not walking, my knee is still bad. Hopefully will see someone about it tomorrow. It might just be something I have to wait out.

Prayers for you Kim, with this knee thing. For many things, we have to allow them their time...to grieve us, and knock the joy factor down a notch or two it seems, while they take their time healing. I hope you get some direction from the doctor..
Have you seen Bob or Brad about it? I have them on hold for this shoulder. I find that we don't realize how much a "part" contributes until it's out of service for a season.

My eating has not been under control of late. Too many sandwich meals and raiding the candy bowl at work. My "nutritionist" flew the coop with my Maid, perhaps? I'll see if I can get them to come back home today.

I need to sort the fridge and freezer, do up a simple meal plan and start tracking again. I will get some home chores done and that always makes me feel better...to have my spaces tidy.
