It is a beautiful day - temps in the 70's which is perfect weather. Unfortunately Summer is coming and this nice weather will be a thing of the past as we get into the 100's then.
My cuts on my fingertips are all healed up now so I am very grateful for that. I am being very careful in how I use my knives now so it does not happen again. I have a friend who says he will sharpen my knives for me to I will be safer. It has been said that the most dangerous knife is one that is dull because we put so much pressure on it to cut things up that if our fingers get in the way there is much more damage done.
I just heard that my vehicle has it's new clutch put in and I can pick it up today. It will be nice to have transportation when I need it and not to have to depend on others. The cost of the repair is quite a lot so we are hoping that the vehicle will be good for several more years. Cars get expensive to repair but are also expensive to buy a new one when the old one still have a few more years in it. We bought this one in 1997 but has close to 174,000 miles (I think) on it but this brand is supposed to last way beyond 200,000 miles.0 -
Afternoon Hello!
Thank you all for sharing all about your Easter Services you attended and your Family activities.
Such a blessing Linda to celebrate your Birthday on Easter Sunday! Happy Birthday and God Bless you! 🥳🎂🎉
Thank you all for your many prayers 🙏, today has been better than it has been!
Blessings on your evening and rest of your week 😊🙏0 -
Marilyn, that picture has practical advice. I like it.
Linda, I was glad to hear you had a lovely birthday. Making memories with family is the best!
Fancyqtr, did you have an Easter birthday too? Happy birthday if you did!
I know Judith has been struggling these past few days so am praying for her more. 💕
We have YouTube church tonight. I have some tasks to do for the church in the next few days, hopefully to be done by Sunday.1 -

We picked up my SUV yesterday and now the clutch is so sensitive that I killed it two times as I was starting out on the way home. It is so much better than it was before I am willing to learn how to respond correctly to it. I was totally wrong about the mileage. My husband said it is 280,000 and hopes it goes to 500,000 before it breaks down completely. Even though repairs are expensive, to buy a new one would be so much worse.
Last night we had a midweek church service and talked about our gifts we have been given to serve people. There is a test to take to see what the computer thinks. I believe I am a good listener and love to serve in the background of things - not be up front for people to see. I will let you know if the computer agrees with me after I take the test.
Judith I am glad you are feeling a bit better today. Prayers continue. 💗1 -
Hi everybody. Marilyn, I needed that reminder today.
Linda, that's good news about the car. I will be interested to know what the computer thinks of your gifts. I think I figured out a while ago that my main gift is teaching. I like administration too though.
I have nothing much plan today. Colin has some medical appointments so I will stay home instead of going to Tai Chi. We have some grocery orders coming and even though they have no appointments themselves, the dogs refuse to open the door for deliveries! Lol!
Judith, praying for you and for everyone on this team. ,🙏💕🌹1 -
Judith, I pray that you get whatever you need to get to feeling better.
Linda, that is good about your car. You have more mileage than I do. I went to church with someone who likes to work on cars and offered to do something with my brakes way back then. We both go to different churches now, but he is my mechanic now, at least for most things. Soon he will need to do an idler arm and ball joint and shocks if I can manage to get them. Also maybe brakes again. At least it saves me a lot of money. Things happen when you have over 200,000 for sure.
I think I would have the same gift of listening. I must have, because it seems a lot of people are always contacting me to discuss things they need to. I have a friend in Germany who has had some problems the last couple months and she always calls me to talk about them until she feels better.
Susin, I didn't have an Easter birthday this year. It was a week before Good Friday (I think I have that right). I just had looked it up after Linda said hers was on Easter wondering if mine ever was. I was always told that I was born on Palm Sunday, but looked it up and Easter was 2 weeks before I was born. I can't understand why I was always told that.
Had Bible study this morning and I'm hoping I can keep up with the next session of it. I still have a lot of trouble understanidng things.2 -

Fancyqtr - it is good to find a good mechanic. My Dad was a mechanic and had his own shop for many years. People did take advantage of him though and he did not make much money. He would cancel their debts if they said they could not afford things even though later he found out they were not telling the truth. My son is also a mechanic and does do things for the cars or at least can diagnosis the problem so we go into the shop equiped with his knowledge.
The computer said I have the gifts of giving, discernment and mercy. I think the listening I was thinking about is covered by the mercy. I try not to be judgemental while I am listening. It is hard though when someone just wants to complain and not do anything about the issue.
It is 72 today and it was feeling pretty hot outside as I took a walk today. We stopped to talk to a neighbor and standing in the sun felt hotter than must 72. I am glad to be able to get outside and enjoy nature.2 -
Hi everyone.
Linda, how interesting about your gifts! It sounds like your Dad had the gifts of giving and mercy too. Thank you for letting us know your results. Wow, it sounds like summer is already knocking at your door.
Marilyn, that's a good practice, training our minds to be more positive.
Fancyqtr, happy belated birthday 🎂 Family memories are almost always different, I find, depending on which family member is asked! Perceptions differ and change over time, too.
I have had a day of cleaning and we got some blinds installed on our little patio. Oh and I baked cupcakes for a BBQ we are going to tomorrow.
Judith, thinking of you 🙏❤️ and hoping the Drs have some good treatments for your cancers. I hope your pain levels are manageable today too. Xxx1 -
It is going to be another hot (in the 80's - hot is a relative term) day today. the wind is blowing so that makes it better and I have heard that there might be a cooler front coming in that might bring rain that we despirately need. I need to water my outside plants today to perk them up. It is too early to start watering the whole yard because we might have a cold front come in and we would have frost again. Our weather is very unpredictable.
My husband has a routine doctor appointment today but since his leg still hurts, he will talk to him about that too. It has been two months since the injury and he was hoping that it would be healed by now. Being here in Denver with lots of stairs to climb has not helped either. He may need to get some physical therapy to help or maybe just time for more healing. At least the x-ray did not show anything broken so that is good.1 -
Linda, ten degrees hotter is quite a difference from yesterday! I understand your dilemma about watering. I hope there is the solution for your husband's leg pain, bless him.
It's raining here today so our new blinds are getting a nice workout. We can bring them down to the ground and they will deflect a lot of the rain from the little patio.
I'm going to go prepare a wombok salad now. We are still going to the BBQ as planned even though we don't know if we'll be undercover or not. Glad I made the cupcakes yesterday. Colin bought us some chicken satay sticks from the butcher's do we will be all set. I'll throw in some soda water too. Guess I'll also bring umbrellas! ☂️☂️☂️

Thought this was a funny answer2 -
Susan - you are increasing my vocabulary today with your foods you are preparing. I would not be able to eat any of it because of the soy or the sugar but it sounds delicious. I hope you do not get too wet and are in a covered area to eat. Your patio is beautiful. I love the plants on the table.
Marilyn - it seems that people who are vegan and meat eaters will never agree. That is a good answer to give when questioned. It made me laugh.
Judith - The cherry trees in Vancover you posted on Facebook are beautiful. Are they ornamental or do they produce cherries also? The ones in Washington DC in the States do not produce cherries. I am praying that you are feeling better soon. We have not heard from you for a few days.1 -
Linda, my mechanic doesn't even work as a mechanic. He works for the security side of Honeywell. Something to do with the equipment (computer stuff) I think. He just does the cars/trucks for fun.
Susan, you are teaching me new things. What is a wombok salad?
I hope that everyone is doing okay and Judith, I hope that you are feeling better today.1 -
Evening Hello Everyone, thank you all for sharing.
Linda; hope your husbands leg pain is improving and he has less pain and is feeling much better.
Susan; love your picture of your patio and new blinds, looks like such a beautiful and comfortable place to relax and entertain.
Marilyn; thank you for all the quotes you share here.
Fancyqtr thank you for asking after me and your well wishes for my current health situation.
I so appreciate all of the Teams many prayers and for asking after me.
This past week had many online and telephone appointments. Due to increased Covid cases and patients in hospital my Surgeon can’t get OR Space and a bed for me; and the same issues with trying to get me in for the CT Scans my Neurologist ordered. Been hitting road blocks every turn. Will keep you posted as I get the dates secured for the surgery and scans I need.
Blessings on your weekend. Hope you enjoy your Sunday services and Family time! ❤️🙏🤗0 -
Judith - I wonder what God has in mind to get you past all the road blocks. I am reminded of the story of in Daniel 10:12-14 when the angel said Daniel's words were heard but he was blocked for 21 days from coming to him to give him a message. Maybe there is Satanic resistance standing in the way but God in his wisdom will be victorious in the end. There may be more reasons than just covid that could do you harm in the hospital. Once things are safe from what ever the dangers are, things will move fast. This is what I am praying for for you. 💕1

Linda, thank you so much for sharing. The thought has crossed my mind more than once for sure. I have been praying for God's Wisdom and for His Will to be done. I know the Lord will open the doors in His timing and more importantly of all when He has everything in right order with the proper people in place who will fulfill His Plan and Will for my life. I am trying to stay strong and keep my eyes on Jesus knowing He is watching over me and who is keeping me safe! Appreciate your prayers and all the Teams prayers. God Bless your evening and week ahead.😊🙏❤️0

I laughed at your joke today, Marilyn. 😊
Linda and Fancyqtr, Wombok salad has no sugar in it and neither did my cupcakes 😊 I didn't use soy sauce either but did use Tamari sauce as an ingredient in the salad dressing. I'll put the salad recipe in the recipe thread but the cupcakes were a Keto cake mix - no sugar or gluten of any kind and very low in carbs. Even the icing I made with Monkfruit sweetener instead of sugar.
Judith, good to hear from you but I am so upset for you about the further delays in your treatment. Every battle is a spiritual battle. Will keep praying! 🙏💕1 -

Susan - thanks for the recipe - it sounds delicious and nice for a hot summer day. I will need to check out the Keto cake mix. Gluten makes my joints ache and I try to stay away from sugar. This sounds like a good substitute.
My husband turned on the sprinklers today to water the grass. It is getting long and he needs to mow it soon. We aerated it over the weekend so the water sinks down into the ground better. I hope we do not have any weather below freezing after the watering today.
I spend quite a bit of the day at the museum of nature and science with my daughter and grandkids. We saw the IMAX 3D movie about the migrating paths of three different birds. It is amazing how God placed in them the instinct to travel so far and to go to the same place as they were born. It was fun to watch then travel in the Spring, have babies and complete the circle back to warmer areas in the winter. We also went to see the other displays that the kids wanted to see.
Tomorrow I go to school with my second grade granddaughter. It is the last day of school for them. They are home schooled so this school is only one day a week to add to their home school curriculum. The next day our 4th grade grandson is helping with a school play so we will go see it, then go to our son's house to pick up the rototiler that he has been fixing for us so we can get the garden ready to plant.0 -
Marilyn, that's a nice thing to do ☺️
You're welcome for the recipe, Linda. I find it a lovely salad. It's Colin's favourite which is great as he won't eat most salad vegetables! And I find the same thing with my joints and eating sugar or gluten. I still have arthritis especially in the hands bit don't get nearly as many hip and back problems by not eating sugar and gluten
I also find I don't get candles as much. Keto foods are great for avoiding sugar and gluten 🤗
The museum trip sounded like something I would have loved to do, too.
Enjoy your grandchildren time ❤️
I made cards for a market I am taking part in on Friday. I have a ukelele session in the morning then will get back into organising my market stall. It's run in our little village so is usually a lot of fun.0 -

It was a very fun day going with the grandkids to their school. They have a lot of fun and have learned so much. A lot of what they are learning is done to the tune of songs. It works very well.
It was 33 this mornng but warmed up as the day went along. I am so glad it was not one degree lower since we had just watered the lawn. It is supposed to be in the 70's tomorrow.0 -
The temps are going down here, Linda. It's still rainy and cool. I love be it. Your day at the school sounded fun!
Marilyn, there's a lot of wisdom in your quote today.
My highlight? The ukelele group,! I had a ball with them this morning and am still grinning 😂0 -
We are on an unexpected trip back to our retirement home today. We got a call saying my Mother- in law passed away this morning so are going to be with the family. There are a lot of preparations and decisions to be made so I will probably not be on here for a little while. Prayers are appreciated for us as we go through this difficult time.0
-
Thank you Susan, I
Leave it all in God’s Hands. I know a day will come and I will finally get my surgery.
Good News I got a call Monday from the Imaging Department at the Cancer Clinic. They have me and others on their June schedule to get both CT Scans I have been waiting on since end of March.
I am so happy, they are calling me in May with an exact day and time but wanted to put my mind at ease so I knew my name is on for June! 😊
Your salad you posted in our recipe section looks so good. After I get my surgery done and can eat normal diet I will make it and enjoy every bite! 😋
God’s Blessings on your day and week ahead ❤️0 -
Linda, I am sorry about the loss of your mother-in-law. I pray that the Lord comforts her entire family.
That trip to the museum sounds wonderful. I think I will check it out.
Judith, I am glad you are finally able to get your needs met.
We had Bible study this morning and will have our last one for this season next week. I think this week showed me some of the problems that I have. I am hoping that I can manage the 2nd part of that study.1 -
