Trying to upload photos: this is the view from where I was sitting on a stone bench in town, drinking my coffee. I do like living in such a picturesque city!

Oh my gosh, Vail! That’s such a lovely place to live! Lucky you!

What a boost to your morale and motivation to have your goal moved up! That’s great!

HIIT class was very challenging today. It felt like I was back to my first class. Taking two weeks off just killed my progress. Oh well, no time like the present to get back on track. I’m so wiped out right now though. Lol.

I'm totally GREEN with envy Vail - as Suzy said how stunning and what a perfect place to sit and enjoy the people watching - that's one of my favourite things is a sidewalk cafe and watching the world go by! Except right now my world is white - we are having a late snowstorm GAK.. it won't stay but its very weird to see everything white tonite.. ugh. At least i still have my snow tires on to go in tonite lol

Suzy.. its scary how fast our endurance fades these days, eh? i think i mentioned that with my walking even.. getting winded much earlier and have lost a lot of my endurance even there... hang in there, the good news is it still comes back!! Well done on getting back to the class!

Last nite the minute I got in i was sent on a detail with Customs where i was basically shepherding people into a specific room (set up as a nice comfort room for processing rather than standing in line) we were able to take an escalator down and across thru all the crowds, BUT i had to take the stairs back UP to the 2nd floor for the next group each time.. omg.. there were 25 stairs.. yes i counted them LOL.. by the fifth or sixth time i had to stop and catch my breath on the landing half way up HA. Today my legs feel like i went 10 rounds with a stairmaster and lost. But looking at the positive... I at least i got a cardio workout in!

Best get showered and dressed - i should probably leave a bit early with the snow - I'm really wishing i was in your lovely spot in the world right now Vail!

PS Suzy im glad your foot is at least a little better ... sorry it's still a "pebble" feel tho :( Vail im glad you have your backup scales to combine since u cant get your new ones synched yet... and way cool the trend is still showing downwards. I still can't get over a 27" waist btw!! sooooooo impressed

Sounds like you’re getting quite a workout, Snoozie! Helping others and yourself all at the same time. That’s multitasking at its finest!

We had snow here just recently, but as you can see in the photos there has been a change in the weather. I won't say the temperatures because I get confused between Fahrenheit and Celsius and will only confuse you more. It does feel like spring now. Thanks for the comments about my city: I do really love it and it was so good during lockdown to be able to go out and walk there. I barely have to walk on roads/streets to get there either: it's just a path along the river.

It does sound like you had a good workout, Snoozie! Stairs are brilliant exercise. And I'm thinking about what I read about splitting exercise up being good, so doing it several times was probably really good. I hope your legs feel better soon! My legs were absolutely aching after my walk: no hills even, but I think I'm just out of practice. Your workout sounds so hard, Suzy. I am still doing HIIT on my programme and they've put it up a notch, but it's still only a few minutes and nothing like you are doing. Yes, hopefully the fitness level will come back quickly but I think that happens at our age, that we just very quickly lose it.

I have had a blip yesterday as I was comfort eating: busy day at work and feeling under the weather with my first cold in two years! Not that those are excuses, but I think it's best to let things go rather than beat ourselves up about what we did wrong. I haven't dared look at my weight trend as my weight was right up again this morning.

I haven't dared to measure my waist again either: I think I hit a low point when I measured so don't want to get discouraged! But yes, that's such a huge thing, regardless of the weight, as it does make me think there are some real health changes going on below the surface. I honestly thought I was stuck with this middle body fat after menopause, even if I lost the weight. I do still have a lot of fat there, of course! I have been really encouraged by this, and about that video I posted showing the changes to internal fat.

Vail - your comment "But yes, that's such a huge thing, regardless of the weight, as it does make me think there are some real health changes going on below the surface.| was spot on, and probably the most important thing about any weight loss we can achieve.. knowing that every little bit is helping make some real health changes.. we know that even losing 5% of our total body weight makes a huge difference on much inside and on the joints and stuff.. so that comment of yours really struck a chord with me.

I'm tired and admit it lol.. tonite is my last late shift til 3am, have 2 days off and then back on 3pm to 9pm which is much easier on the body.. i've only been away from shift work for 2 years, but im also 2 years older lol... our deployment has been extended another 2 months at our current location, and there is another one starting with our local RC unit.. also support for Ukraine just a different kind.. i said i was avail for both but i decided to cut back my days a wee bit and won't work the late shift next month.. i'm going to leave that to the younger people for a bit lol.. Anyway that's assuming they ask me to join.. right now it's just asking for availability so we will see. I am find some challenges - it's hard not to slip back into "work mode" and coming from 40 years in a para-military role, sometimes the line blurs between remembering we are all volunteers ..and im just one of the masses not the one calling the shots.. and that its a much more gentle and supportive type of role. but its good for me too because it forces me to take it down when i find myself heading back into work mode lol. I have to say tho everyone has been awesome in the organization and to be honest, I'm discovering the RC indeed stays true to their 7 principles which guide everything we do.. and it's nice to know for me anyway they have lots of measures in place to make sure everything is transparent and lots of checks and balances to make sure everything is above board.. that's been very reassuring to me to know im with an organization that is one i'm very comfortable representing. \

Suzy how are you doing? I'm with Vail on the HIT lol.. every time i start whining to myself about all the walking and/or standing i think hey it could be worse.. you could be doing the HIT class with Suzy lol!!

k back to bed for a bit... :)

Snoozie it sounds like you’ve taken on a full time job. It makes me tired just hearing about your hours and commitment. I am really impressed and my faith is restored that there’s an organization out there that truly adheres to their principles. I’m also extremely impressed with you giving your all to such a wonderful cause.

I woke in the middle of the night with a scratchy sore throat, runny nose and eyes and couldn’t sleep. Needless to say that I didn’t make it to HIIT class this morning. I’m hoping it’s just allergies and not the bug my granddaughter had last week. Either way, I hope I’m feeling better Friday. I really really struggled with the Friday boot camp class last time so I need to be 100% to attempt that this week.

I want to add a quick walk around the neighborhood a couple times a day on my non-class days because I was thinking about what Vail said about splitting exercise up. I had forgotten about that.

I’m using smaller dinner plates for both of us and I think that’s a step that’s working a bit. Portion control at dinner is my biggest struggle right now. I’ve also got some new recipes to try from Skinnytaste. I’ve got five weeks before my follow up labs are drawn.

Oh Suzy fingers crossed its just allergies - all my kin down east are sick with a flu - i gather the norovirus is making the rounds .. funny how most of us haven't had a cold or flu since covid started - seems almost weird now to hear about someone with a cold.. but i guess with all the mask mandates gone we'll be back to "normal" with that sort of thing I sure hope you feel better soon!

and yes honestly i feel some days like i'm back to work too lol. I have sent my availability for May forward but I've culled my time a bit. I've missed playing pickleball and i don't seem to be able to keep up with the chores ... after 2 years of having nothing to do I think i overextended myself a bit
It's all good tho.. I have lost a couple of pounds but mainly from not eating enough.. so these days off I am going to focus on healthy eating.. lots of veg as I've been mainly doing sandwiches and easy stuff.. its pouring rain here today and I was going to go to indoor pb at 1030 but I didn't get home til almost 4am so apparently i slept thru that ha.. so i guess its a good day to stay in and catch up on the chores.. no excuse not to darn it ha.

Vail - i saw you registered a loss... YAYYYYYYYY

    Morning Suzy, Vail

How\s everyone doing? I stuck to my plan and ate like a pig yesterday lol.. mainly healthy stuff and dinner was a lovely roast beast with carrots, broccoli, cauli and one potato mashed (cause you need mashed to hold the gravy, right? ) haha.. it was very yummy and have enuf left for a late lunch before i go in for shift.

i had a really good day yesterday too.. finally got to play pickleball with my friends.. there were only 4 of us so no down time and played for 2 hrs.. im feeling it today! And i scored a pair of shorts and a pair of loose cotton capris for outdoor play when the weather gets better (main requirement - big pockets to hold pickleballs lol) It's funny tho.. i STILL picked out the wrong sizes (too big) to try on; I KNOW i'm a smaller size but my head can't seem to wrap itself around it sometimes. I did force myself to go back and try on smaller ones; but i still went for the "looser" size up version rather than the ones that actually fit.. but i did go down a size from whats stuck in my head :) So a little shopping, a little pickleball and a nice roast beast all added up to a lovely day.. and i even had a few pieces of an aero chocolate bar :)

I'm on the early shift (3pm-9pm) for the next 4 days which is a much easier shift to manage for eating well so another plus. My community garden opens up May 7th and there is an orientation online first and an in person one on opening day so I'm getting a little excited. I'm not sure how well my little tomato sprouts are doing i started at home tho.. i think i may have overwatered em. Oh well.. this first year will be a learning experience, but i guarantee if i get even one carrot or tomato, you're going to be inundated with photos of me and it ha.

Good morning! Almost noon but still morning. Lol. I finally, FINALLY, showed a loss this morning. I’m also feeling better because I was able to get some sleep last night…no sore throat and sinus issues! Yay!! It’s our 39th anniversary today. We’re going to a birthday party for our three year old nephew and I’ll get to see my granddaughter! So, it should be a stellar day!

I’m glad you got to play PB. All work and no play…and all that. I do the same thing buying clothes. I’ve bought a few things from Costco and you can’t try them on there. I always buy things too large. I ordered a bunch of clothes from Kohl’s online and I ordered two sizes so I can try them on at home and take back what I don’t want to the store. As long as I return them before the billing cycle then it’s all good. Lol.

Congratulations on the loss, and on the anniversary, Suzy! Hope you had a lovely time at the birthday party. Glad you're feeling better now.

You seem to be working really hard, Snoozie. Make sure you get some time for yourself too. You're retired, after all! Have fun with the community garden. I was looking for gardening courses locally but couldn't find anything suitable. I'm so bad at it. Also I fell when carrying my lawnmower and I think I broke it (thankfully, I just got bruised!). I don't think I can fix it.

Yes, my weight has been up and down a lot, still very slightly more down than up! I don't know how much of the fluctuation is me and how much is the scales. The two sets were aligning quite well for a while but now they've gone off in different directions again! Have had a virus, probably just a cold, over the last week, so I think I lost a little because of that.

Vail .. i'm sorry you've been hit with the bug.. hopefully you're feeling better by now or will be soon.

I am learning i need to find the balance - i guess with the volunteer work being so new and wanting to dive in.. plus the immediate need for the Ukraine travellers - i may have over extended myself a bit .. or maybe not.. i'm so used to truly doing nothing after 2 years of lockdown.. and i was complaining about having nothing to do... so perhaps its just a matter of becoming used to doing stuff again.. I have managed to play pickleball with my friends 2x in the last 10 days or so thats been lovely..

anyway right now it doesnt look like i'm being extended for May other than a few days, but my big boss at the site asked if she could contact mobilization and let them know i do have availability cause she wants me there .. they had reached out to me for availability for 2 separate responses and i think they mixed up my avail because i'm not sched to continue this one into May. I had declined the 2nd response because it was going to be 12 hr shifts... and honestly at this stage of my life, i can't handle 12 hour shifts anymore plus commute there and back .. so i said no to that but did say i woudl continue the airport response as it's only 6 hr shifts we do there.. anyway it will all work out the way its supposed to in the end

Im sorry your scales are not synching together.. maybe you could just ditch one and stick with a single response rather than trying to gauge the middle ground between the 2?? might be slightly less frustrating for you?

omg on the fall.. im glad it was the mower broken rather than you.. altho sorry about the bruising! I've never gardened in my life lol... i seem to remember getting in trouble as a kid from my grandmother when i apparently pulled out plants instead of weeds?? but what the heck.. something new to try

I'm hoping to meet a friend at that italian bakery this morning for a catch up before i head into airport this aft.. i will use my big $15 tax refund to splurge on a pastry hahaha and cappucino if we do!! and no guilt at all :)

Yes, the birthday party was a lot of fun even though I had to wear a swimsuit. Lol. I played in the pool with my granddaughter and she did great! So much fun!

Why on earth were you carrying your lawnmower, Vail? Like Snoozie said, I’m glad the mower broke and not vice versa. The people who owned this house before us were avid gardeners. We have all kinds of plants coming up and I have no idea what they are. They’re all beautiful so I hope I don’t kill them. I think we may even have a peony bush! I’m just trying to keep it weeded and am afraid that I’m mistaking plants for weeds, so I know where you’re coming from Snoozie! Lol.

I can not imagine anyone wanting to volunteer for a twelve hour shift! That’s extreme. Hopefully you’ll be able to get a good balance of work and play. It’s a learning process, I’m sure.

You know, when I weigh I tend to weigh about three or four times and take the number that shows up most often. It always fluctuates even on the same scale. Don’t drive you’re crazy, Vail. I hope you’re feeling better soon.

I’m afraid I didn’t go to my HIIT class today. I just want to sleep late. There’s no excuse. Just lazy. That’s the attitude that got me into this overweight condition. I need to suck it up and go anyway.

I bet you're not lazy, Suzy! You've probably ended up being busy with housework, etc. and have been active. I admit I'm naturally lazy, but I try not to think of it like that!! But given the choice of doing something or nothing, I'd choose nothing most of the time. I do think some of the day to day stuff we do counts as exercise, though, and it's definitely a step up from sitting in front of the TV all day. But I know what you mean about needing to avoid the attitude that gets you overweight. I'm fighting against that at the moment too.

I was carrying the lawnmower because I have to get it down an awkward step. Talking off, I suppose it's a bit of a workout carrying that lawnmower, never mind doing the actual mowing! I need to look at it and see if it's anything fixable. These things are such a mystery to me that I haven't dared. Very frustrating as it's a new one I bought last year, to replace one that I'd had over 20 years.

On the plus side, I didn't really get hurt, and I suppose is shows my bones can still take a bit of an impact! Even the bruising doesn't hurt: I'm on anti-coagulants so permanently have bruises which I have no idea how I've got!

That must be fun having all those plants coming up in the garden!

12 hour shifts are ridiculous, Snoozie! I honestly think 8 hours is verging on too long! I suppose at least this is short term and you will enjoy your time off more when it's finished, with the satisfaction of having done something so useful. I bet you will still be really busy, what with pickleball, gardening, etc. Hope you enjoyed your meetup with a friend!

I still "need" two sets of scales, because one of them sends my weight to MFP, whereas the other calculates all the other things (body fat, etc.) as well and sends them to an app. The plan was to get scales 2 to send to MFP but that doesn't seem to be working, so the easiest thing is to use both. You can imagine my cat's fury now he has to wait for not one, but two, weigh-ins before he gets his breakfast!

Suzy - i had to laugh at your swimsuit pool comment - because I'm getting my snow tires off tomorrow and of course, they are calling for some potential snow flurries then. and you're in a pool!! Ha.. but im really glad you had such a great time!

I've done the multiple hops on the same scale a few times, but i have to say it usually stays the same number. I know i told you about my experiment one day where i happened to be up for like 24 hrs.. and hopped on every few hours, seeing a fluctuation of up/down 3 lbs in that 24 hrs!

Vail - i didn't realize you needed both scales for the MFP synch lol. im thinking you may have to lock kitty out of the room with the scales.. if he knows there are TWO of them keeping him from his brekkie.. there could be another vomit session laying in wait for the new ones too!

Do you happen to have any local handyman types around? I found a few on facebook in my area.. kinda like rent a husband .. i didn't want to pay for a full contractor but i need a few little things done around my place so i went searching.. a lot of retired guys who are geniuses at fixing things like vaccuum cleaners and hopefully mowers are around too - maybe ask some of your friends if they know anyone who's mechanically inclined who could take a look at it? specially since it's new.. might be worth the few bucks to have someone look at it? as for the bruising - my sister is also on blood thinners and is constantly wondering how did i get this damn bruise too lol!

and yes on the 12 hrs.. i did then when i was working and am perfectly comfortable saying nope.. no more! I'll leave that to the young uns lol. Right now my current deployment at the airport ends May 1st, but i did say I'm available for May as well with my current shifts and locations so we will see.. I'm looking forward to the new experience with my garden and pickleball for sure.. its still kind of weird for me getting back to "normal" living if you will - we had the longest lockdown in North America here so really we are well behind everyone else in that slow return to normal.. most are still wearing masks here indoors even tho the mandates for same have now been lifted, but at least with the warmer weather (hopefully!) arriving, it will be lovely to have those backyard bbq's and wine therapies again with people!

When i retired just before covid hit, i set 3 goals for myself, increase physical activity, increase volunteer work, and never say no to any invitation (increase social activity lol). Well of course with covid none of that worked out LOL.. but i have dug them back out now as a reminder. I'm hoping to add some other kind of physical activity beyond pickleball this year.. i don't know what yet but i have accepted i will never be a gym person lol. So i don't think i'll take any fitness classes until maybe the fall over the winter...

im going to try to find physical activities i enjoy instead.... I looked at bowling (even lawn bowling at the seniors centre!) and badminton but its too close to pickle.. but both were just "meh" . There's a thing called "Meetup".. a site i guess i had joined a few years ago; its simply various groups geared towards certain activites, whether it be walking or yoga or adventure trips like hiking or kayaking.. even day trips and coffee get togethers etc. It's totally free and most events only cost like $2 (altho some like the day trips of course can be more) I tried a walking group before covid (which is when i learned i much prefer my early morning solitary walks by the lake lol) but i'm going to revisit the site and see what's going on these days.. i even considered a day one for axe throwing HAHAH.. one of my friends actually joined a club for axe throwing but i decided that wasnt my thing.. there is an archery one where you can try it out.. i might do that.. but anyway its something to explore this summer for sure.

ok i've probably bored you both to sleep by now so off i will go .. have a wonderful day/evening !

Yes, it's strange how covid affected all our plans. I have retired friends who were being driven nuts by the isolation, and other friends, like me, who were working more than ever, so really different experiences. And I do think it's different if you live alone. I'm glad you're able to do the voluntary work now, and maybe it's a good thing that it's time-limited and you can get it out of your system, then have more time for your hobbies over the summer. No doubt you will be called on again.

I'm interested in what you do for your other exercise activity. I've signed up to go for a walk with colleagues soon, and also signed up to a local walking group over a year ago, but haven't been to anything! I'm OK wandering about myself for short distances, but not sure I'm fit enough to walk with a group (and I tend to get blisters!) - like you, I might just carry on with my solo excursions. I'm going for a shorter walk with a friend soon. But was just thinking that it would be nice to have another physical activity. I do miss the dance classes I was going to pre-pandemic, but they haven't started up again, unfortunately (or they have, but I think it's on a day that I work so I can't go). I still want to wear a mask indoors so feel very self-conscious (as hardly anyone else does now, and certainly not for physical activity!).

I have done archery before. I did like it but found it oddly stressful. A nice outdoors hobby though, and you can get quite geeky over the bows.

I've had a look at the lawnmower and can't see anything wrong. I do know of a lawnmower repair guy, but it was quite a cheap one, so I don't know if it's worth repairing, even if I could find somebody. I'll keep fidding with it and see if I can get it working better, and if not, unfortunately I'll probably just end up buying a new one. When my last one broke (after many years of service) the repair guy said it wasn't worth the money to repair. Such is the world we live in nowadays!

Vail - i hear you on the mower. Strange how all the really old appliances live forever.. and the new ones are crap.

so many people here have 2nd fridges in their garage or basement that are 30-40 yrs old and still going strong - but all the new appliances are made with plastic parts not metal and are frankly designed to be cheaper to replace than repair!! I have a stackable washer/dryer in my condo.. both were at least 25 yrs old; the dryer is still going strong but my washing machine died last year - the repair guy was totally honest.. said a new motor would be about $400 and the thing could keep going for years.. or not.. it was a gamble. i opted for a new one not realizing the smaller washers are actually more expensive than a big one - but there are days i think i should have just gotten the new motor and stuck with the good old one!

This may sound stupid but have you tried googling how to fix the mower? I was able to fix my washing machine once all by myself using google.. i put in the make and model and the problem and just started looking for answers and after trying a few, i hit on the right one and got it going again..

I haven't found the 2nd physical acitivty as yet.. but going to look around and see if anything interests me i'll keep you updated!

I watched the zoom meeting for our community garden orientation last nite.. learned lots and that i can actually plant a spring crop once they open on May 1st.. things that do better in cooler weather so now i have to re jig my plans ha... they warned against planting any of the summer stuff before the end of May, its just too cold here in our part of the world and reminded us a few warm days will not warm up the soil so to be patient with those. haha.. interesting they suggested we pick up a few of those spinny wheel things at the dollar store.. the things u stick in the ground and spin in the wind... apparently the voles don't like the vibrations from them and it can help keep them from digging in the gardens... who knew?? ha. i think i'll risk the $3 investment and give them a go!

Have I told y’all how much I appreciate you? I love having this outlet and you two to turn to. So thanks for being here!

We’ve been watching all the plants coming up in this new yard and apparently we have a peony bush, hydrangea, rose of Sharon and a peach tree (at least I think it’s a peach tree) with some fruit coming in! I love the idea of growing my own vegetables but not the actual work. I don’t tend to be very successful with growing things. Lol. I hope your community garden is very plentiful!

We leave on Saturday for our annual spring hiking/mountain getaway. I haven’t hiked any real distance or elevation in a very very long time. I don’t think my stamina is there for any challenging trails. I’ll do the best I can.

Vail, I hope you can get back to your dancing soon. I know you enjoyed that! I have not been able to go to my gym classes as consistently as I had hoped…not yet anyway. Something to work towards.

I went shopping for swimsuits today and actually found two that I don’t completely hate. And I had a 25% off coupon! Score!

Suzy have a wonderful time on your trip - hope the foot holds up well and yay on the swimsuits!! I think finding 2 you dont hate is the bigger win than even the 25% off coupon LOLOL.. but double score indeed!

Thanks, Suzy, I feel the same about coming here! I do have a forum for my diet programme and I do post there, but I feel like I've known you for years and I'd rather chat to you two.

That's great about swimsuits, Suzy! It's so difficult to find ones you don't hate! I should probably buy a swimsuit in case I ever do go swimming again (unlikely), but what I found I liked years ago was really plain Speedo swimsuits. I bought one when I was on holiday and massively overweight and it was the only one they had in my size. It was really comfortable and kind of held everything in. I had been avoiding the pool but ended up having a great time: fat makes you so bouyant! I'd love to wear those sunscreen coverup suits that they have in Australia! But maybe time for just a new ordinary swimsuit.

Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful time. I hope your foot feels OK and you enjoy the hikes - don't overdo it!

Good idea about googling about the mower. I'm trying to work out exactly what's wrong with it and how to word it. I had a look and can't see anything obvious (I saw that as if I would have any idea - but thought there might be something broken or bent). Good luck with your community garden. It actually sounds quite exciting! I want to grow vegetables but have had so many failures. But this year, I've signed up for membership for the closest garden centre to me. It's a few pounds and you get two free coffees a month at their cafe and a discount on plants. I'm thinking of treating myself to the occasional plant, as I've really let the garden go over the years. There is far too much buddleia, and it's a constant battle with the nettles and brambles. I have paid somebody to cut down my laurel hedge and put a new fence in on that side, and now it will all be easier to maintain. If I get round to it, I might put in some herbs as I think they are always nice to home grow. I love chervil and it's really difficult to get hold of.

Just your comment about old fridges, Snoozie, reminded me of years ago, I had moved into a new house with my boyfriend of the time and we were buying secondhand stuff, I think from the small ads at the supermarket as no internet in those days, and we just bought the cheapest fridge. Anyway, it turned out to be a monster of a thing, I think from the 1950s or even earlier. It was really loud and there was no way it could fit in the kitchen, so it was out in the entrance hall, humming away, and practically freezing everything that went in it. I think the person who sold it got a bargain as they'd have had to pay to have it taken away - but the thing was it did really work well!

I do feel lucky living here in some ways. Some of it so pretty, even outside the main tourist areas, like here. Actually this walk was just because I was going to a work meeting and there was no parking where it was being held so I just walked from home. But I often walk along here just for fun, or to go shopping and sometimes have a coffee at that cafe. Or even cycle and park my bike there, when I'm feeling brave!

    Hi!

I really am jealous Vail... i haven't been to England in .. 40 years?? well way more actually gak.. i was 16 last time i visited!! i dont even wanna do the math lol.. i would love to go back and actually spend like a month touring some of the villages and different areas .. i watch a show here called Escape to the country which is a house hunting show for people but mainly takes place in England, Scotland and Wales.. and they talk about the different counties and areas and have lots of pics .. and i often think would be lovely to just wander about some of them ... it's on my "someday" list which is not good as we all know someday is NOT one of the days of the week!!

I'm on a turnaround day .. finished my last "late" (3am) shift with the RC this morning and im actually off now for 2 weeks.. they wanted people to work the late shift but i said nope will only work the afternoon one til 9pm for the next 2 weeks.. and they had enuf ppl for that so i'm going to enjoy the break.. the deployment has been extended thru the end of June so i'll be back at it then but for now.. i can use the break to be honest.. its been very rewarding but my body is not liking those late shifts i admit lol.. i dont recover as well as when i was younger thats for sure!! I'll use the time to catch up on laundry and groceries and cleaning (ugh lol) and get in some pickleball etc.. at least its a dull rainy day so i don't feel guilty staying home and chilling!

I'm down a pound but not logging it again cause i know its just from not eating much on shift.. i plan to change that while i'm off LOL.. i took out a steak last night to thaw in the fridge.. i will prob make that up tonite for a real dinner and there will lots leftover i can slice into a salad or maybe some fajitas the next day. decisions decisions ha.

Hope your weekend getaway was fun Suzy and that you enjoyed the hikes and your foot is ok!

I think you deserve a break, for sure!

Our hiking break is for six days. We have a timeshare in the Alpine village of Helen, GA. We bought it 35 years ago and my husband loves it. Me? Not so much. I’m tired of going to the same place every year. But, he enjoys it so I try to make the best of it. Unfortunately, today I ended up with a stomach bug or bad food…not sure which. I haven’t felt this miserable in decades. It’s awful. I’m hoping that tomorrow is better. If I had the energy to pack up then we’d be at home right now.

We did hike yesterday and the foot held up well.
