Half pound uptick. That's the way it goes. Just going to KCKO and keep moving forward.2

After a weekend full of HOT weather and sunshine it's cold and rainy again. I honestly don't mind it being a bit cool as long as it's not cold or snowy. Unless I'm swimming I don't like it to be much over 70. My weight is still a pound and a half up from my stomach virus low but it's holding and it's less than before the virus so I'm hoping for continued progress down. KCKO.1

Check in early. Up early. Terrible sleep. Omad yesterday and transitioned into an extended fast by not having supper. A couple hours later so about the 27.5 hour mark I was not that feeling well. Tested my sugar and yeah it was low. Enjoyed my evening tea and a salty water and felt a bit better but I went to bed early. Maybe too early so I was checking the clock all night and of course extra pee trips lol because of the extra water. So I listened to the rain. Which is snow now so that’s a bit annoying. Sugar better this morning so I will keep going for now. Keep you posted. Down a .5 this morning too. So close to a milestone on the scale. Oh, measurements yesterday many inches gone!3

Congrats on the inches and may the scale reward you with more losses, too!
I do not do long fasts well.
IF is all I can manage. I become a frightening broomrider
as for me, forgot to weigh. But it's a beautiful day so I get to look forward to some sunshine.

170.8. About half a pound up still. It is what it is. KCKO3

Checking in. Mfp will be down tonight I guess so here is my update. Feeling well. Sun is shining. Got a bump this morning on my scale due to my fast. Yay! Dinner at 6. Honestly I might just have a big omelette. And bacon. ( I’m not a big bacon lover but a little is nice ) have a great day!2
-
Another sunny day here! Broke my fast last night about 6pm with a huge breaky. 900+ cals. Felt at first and a little while like I over did it. A little light headed after I ate too which was weird but that passed quickly as well. This morning I’m down another lb so that’s fun. Happy Friday.3
-
Happy Friday! I hope everyone has a good weekend. I'm hoping to get a little time to menu plan and maybe meal prep a few lunches for next week.3
-
yay, scale! Being nice today! 169.2lb. 4.2lb to goal.
Chugging along. If I could hold onto it then I'd hit my loss goal for the month, or be close. But I bet it will bounce up for a min tomorrow. It is what it is. KCKO3 -
My keto successes are fluctuating, but overall I'm slightly more active and quite a bit more focused on specific daily food goals.
I saw an episode of Shakespeare and Hathaway where a woman was standing alone in front of her scale for a private moment before "the weigh-in."
I realized that after an injury I stopped weighing in, and now years later, I've regained so much weight and lost so much drive.
I used to weigh daily, and the truth is for me, it kept me honest and motivated... good or bad. I think the best thing I could do is start that up again.
That is my next challenge to myself. Time to get real again.1 -

I think there are a couple schools of thought in daily weigh ins. The down side is the emotional roller coaster of the fluctuation up and down or when it seems not to move for days, etc. I do weigh in each morning probably because I can’t help myself haha but it’s also about accountability just like logging in everyday and tracking my food. Good luck!1 -
I know everyone has to find what works for them. I am a lot older than most here. I am also very fluffy. I have had weight issues since my first surgery in 85. I have tried many things. As far as weighing goes, here is what works for me. If I weight once a month, I gain. If I weight once a week, I gain. If I weight once a day, I lose. Now, I also do not get super excited should I gain a bit. I know that can be water or bowl issues. But if it keeps creeping up several days, then the problem is me. I have tried many diets, many. I am also diabetic. Almost 6 years ago my cardiologist put me on strict Keto. My blood sugar was excellent. But i grew very tired of it. When Covid hit, I got depressed. Stopped going to the gym, and went off keto. Blood sugar got worse and I gained 25 lbs. Not good when I weighed 250. On Keto I did not count calories. For me that was bad. I do not care what anyone says. I do not care what any diets says. I only know for me the facts. Too many calories in no matter what type, I gain. If I take in more than I can burn, I gain. Simple science. No fast or fab diet has ever worked for me. Keto Helped my blood sugar stay low, that is a fact. Keto with no calorie counting makes me gain weight.
So where am I today? The only thing that works for me after so much trial and error:
MFP / Keto / low carb / once a week one cheat meal / daily weight ins / several times a day blood sugar checks - WHY?
MFP - helps me to track my food, weight going down again first time since covid
Keto for most of my meals - helps me to keep my blood sugar down
Low carb some meals - helps me to keep my calories down and feel more full - but overall net carbs not more than 56 a day - so BS staying great.
one cheat meal - not great for BS, but keeps me sane, not depressed, not deprived, something to look forward too, and A1C is doing great.
Daily weight in - Keeps me knowing if it is working before I get to the end of the week, so I can tweak.
This works for me. I have not added exercise to the mixture yet, but I will. I need to get some weight off my knees first. There is no advice anyone can give better than my own past experience. My system might not work for you, it does for me. If you find what works - do not mess with it. Just do it until it no longer works, then tweak.
My motto has always been. Do not be a hater, you do you, let me do me. Respect others and self.
Just my 2 cents.5 -
I am back. Did eat a little too many carbs. Too much booze. So up to 171.4 for the moment. It's fine. It's water. I'm back on track. And my eye is on my current goal weight, 165. I was maintaining 167 before the pandemic so 165 will provide cushion. Though the closer I get the more I think about just taking a quick maintenance break and then trying for the elusive vanity 5lb to get to 160.
Anywho...kcko3 -
I'm back (yes, again) and I'm happy to see some familiar people
I've not been consistent ... as my life with three teenagers and one preteen is not helping with that.
I've had a shift in focus where I'm wanting to make a concerted effort with my health. I've always cared about it, but if I'm totally honest, I've cared more if I look good and healthy rather than actually BEING healthy. That is not working for me at my current age (52).
In March, two of our teenagers and I tagged along on one of my husband's work trips. We visited Ireland, London and Paris. I got COVID and couldn't return home with my family. It was a mild case and I have recovered (and I'm home), but I'm still dealing with residual fatigue and brain fog and soreness. This, as well as some other age related things (menopause) is causing me to re-think my lack of attention to health.
I had blood drawn this morning so that I can compare it to last year's and I hope to be back on here more because it definitely helps to keep me motivated.
I still have weight goals - I want to lose 20 lbs - but I know if I focus on my health more consistently, that will follow.
Wish me luck! (well, discipline and willpower would be better!)

Well, my body comp scale is on the coffee table, and today's goal is to figure out how it works. I'm pretty sure the "comp" in body comp is short for complicated!!!
Hoping to prevail.
My step count was good yesterday, my food was iffy. So many challenges.2 -
bloaty. Scale stuck. KCKO4

I'm doing a month long experiment where I'm just low carb and not keto. So far the same ups and down on the scale but it's only been 3 days so we'll see what happens from here lol2

I am officially ‘stuck’ at 167 for a full week now. I have been not been weighing everything and just estimating based on what I have learned over the last 120 days or so. I have started golfing ( it’s still not that warm but the season is finally here ) so I am getting more steps in this last week. I don’t feel stuck per say just used the word because it’s been a week! Anyway. Omad today. Chicken wings and a salad of some variety planned for tonight. Happy Friday and have a great weekend!3

Sounds great on the variety idea! I love it. Then you can feel good about still being on plan-but having something different. I am trying to weigh grams of protein(for osteoporosis) and total carbs. The rest I weigh just to see what I am doing, but not to keep in a calorie limit. I am new at this, probably around 75 days.3 -

The last successful attempts I had at weight loss were with Whole30 and Weight Watchers and looking back on my food logs during those times I was averaging between 50-100 carbs a day. I'm more of a lazy keto so I do 20-50 for that and rarely calculate what it would be net. I have celiac disease so whatever I eat is always gluten free. The higher carb allows me to have a bit of potato, sweet potato, brown rice, or higher carb fruit. Of course I think only two days this week have I gone over 60 carbs.

169.5 this morning. Officially Stuck and 3.5 up from my low last week! And then I snacked today almonds lol, peanut butter and celery; but just too much. Supper I’ll have to get some protein in and avoid anymore fat and carbs. Ugh! Tomorrow will be better and tonight I will behave!1
-
well 168.4. A new pandemic low. It won't stay. But that's fine.
3.4lb to go. KCKO3 -
well. No one else has anything to say. And I don't really either. Scale bouncing up, down, and around. Up to 171.something. Now is back down and stuck at 169.8. Nothing to do but do the right things and wait. KCKO.1
-
I have to quit this snacking and get back to nothing after supper! That’s my checkin. Lots of steps today. I golfed twice !1
-
Checking in. Still snacking. Today was pistachios. Tested my sugar and ketones today. Still in mild keto and my sugar is not where I want it but it’s not bad.1

Does anyone do 20:4 intermittent fasting?1

Making another run at keto adherence. If i go to bed now, I will be right on target. That's crazy, right? To go to bed to keep from eating! It ain't easy.
I've had some success in upping my step count to almost a mile a day this month. The past few days I've slacked off some, but still very impressed with what I've done. Had a major plumbing incident/ flood from apartment above and my energy has gone to salvaging and laundry. I'm tuckered out. And only half way done.
It could have been way worse.3 -
