I didn't believe it yesterday so I checked it again today! Exact same. I had a pretty good week so I was surprised. I deep cleaned my house - closets, cabinets, drawers. I spent three days cleaning. I've been getting my workous and steps in. Food has been decent. I feel like food has to be pretty close to perfect for that scale to move, but decent doesn't usually get me gain. 🤷♀️ I am back to work today. My kids have one more day. I have in-service so it will be boring and no steps.
I am really behind on reading so I hope everyone is doing well and I will try to check in more often.8 -

Happy to see a loss. Yesterday was good. Got up and did my 5 am workout but it felt really early. Food was okay: did intermittent fasting, no snacks, in calories but haven't hit my macros. Macros will be a task for next week. Getting ready to do my Thursday workout right now. My youngest has been up since 4 am so it's going to be a long day and I have an appointment with the wellness coach after work. Going to plan ahead and do take out for dinner.8 -

I think that for the habit tracker - it's the ones that require action (10 situps per day or the like) that would work really well by pre-checking and then not wanting to de-check. I'll have to think about trying this - none of mine require much of an action.4 -
@KellyBgetsfit Don't be too discouraged! There are SO many factors, and sometimes it just takes a while for things to appear on the scale, or to disappear. If it still does not budge, time for some experiments! Mad scientist at work 🤓
Happily, our big scary ice storm that was supposed to plague us last night fizzled and just turned to snow. The ground is the right colour again Now it just needs to get deep enough for snowshoes.
@micki48 - thinking of you at work with all those wild and crazy children! May the energy be with you
Have a lovely one, all

Work has been insane this week resulting in stress, long days, and fatigue. I didn't log yesterday or get a walk in but I did play some cards with my daughter and read a novel in the evening to decompress. I'm going away by myself for the weekend and really looking forward to it. I've planned healthy meals and packed my scale for Sundays weigh-in.7

@KellyBgetsfit LIke Liselyn said, don't be discouraged. You know scales are not the only measure. You had a good week. Take that. The scale is just data. It will move. Sometimes it is slow to catch up. Usually for the losses, though, not the gains! It is all of our parts so if you are holding on to water from a salty meal or anything else, that could be the culprit. You had a successful week.
@conleywoods Yay for you!!!! It must feel so good to see some results with all the hard work and thought you give to your health. Hope your day goes well. That is a long one when it starts at 4am. Good to have a plan for dinner.
@jugar Glad you got some of that white stuff you love and not a bunch of ice. Ice is NO fun! Here in Pennsylvania the weather has been crazy warm. Like mid 60s. That's just not right for a January here.
I was so tired yesterday and my feet hurt so bad. I did stop at a store on the way home from work and when I got home, everyone was sitting. No plan for dinner. I guess they were all waiting for me to arrive home and get it started. Nope! I went up stairs and gave myself some time. I got a new Pilates bar that I love and tried out a bit. I BREATHED a bit and pampered my poor tootsies. I heard someone say, "I don't know what's wrong with her." Ha! Wrong?? Michele is taking care of herself and self care is wonderful.
Got to go. KIds are up.7 -

This is brilliant!!! No guilt. Self-care so that you can do all the things you need to do. Anyone can make dinner - no one else can do your exercise, breathing, and footcare. Your priorities are where they belong!9 -
Hi!
My name is Evelyn and I live in Vermont with my spouse and 3 cats. My 36-yr-old daughter lives here much of the year but that may be about to change.
Weight loss journey? Seems I went from “wee-string bean girl” to “chunky-monkey” then to “plush comfy-chair”. The times I felt most successful losing weight was when I did extreme changes “cold turkey”. Being a Vegan in the old days was when you ate a “Macrobiotic diet” and that was the *only* time I was worried about how much I lost before adapting to the regimen! (At 5’3” tall I went from 178-pounds to 105-pounds when child #1 was 9-months old). I cooked and ate that way for 3 years or so before expanding the family’s diet to a more Americanized “everything” type.
Fast forward through 2 marriages and kids now adults and I’m still wrestling with the same 35-extra pounds (maybe 50 would be more accurate since I’m a bit shorter than I used to be!).
I stopped drinking alcohol 11 years ago and that definitely helped me turn many things around in my life. Now, to shift gears and be more attentive to self care, especially re: more vegetarian fare and smaller portions for my shorter frame!
I’ll weigh in tomorrow. With any luck, having Covid this week hasn’t made it too bad. Ugh.

Happy New Year Everyone! I hope Santa was as good to you as he was to Ashley and I.
I am back on the horse again, riding almost every day. I decided to try something a bit different this year. Rather than pushing myself to do an hour ride or more, and starting to hate the bike, I'm going to commit to doing 30 minute rides at least 5x a week and add additional time when I feel like it.

@micki48 - Love that you took that time for yourself!
I did not do my walk without my pup, but I did take him for a long walk this morning before the work day started and he was totally up for it. It was a busy day so not much stretching or walking around the apartment.
We have just found time to start putting away our holiday decorations, and I’m sad to see them go, but it’s time. We also have a realtor coming to take photos of our apartment, so we need to tidy up and do some quick fixes before they come next week.
I did Sydney Cummings Houdyshell’s day 2 of her new program - Effort, and it was probably one of the hardest workouts I’ve done in a while; my arms are still shaking as I type this! I’m glad I did it though, and after work, which is usually the time of day I don’t want to do anything.
Weigh-in day tomorrow! I didn’t get a chance to see my weight following Christmas because of travel, so I’m mentally telling myself already that it’s going to be okay and to not be bothered by the number.8 -
@bowens1973 I think you're smart to do those shorter rides - making yourself hate something is never a good move! You cracked me up when you wrote that you are "back on the horse again" - I had to look up to double check who was writing! I thought you were actually talking about horses... I'm thinking about my own getting back to a horse soon-ish! Can't wait for my Alberta horse to arrive here in May or June.
@EvMakesChanges I hope your covid has the same effect mine did - I lost a couple of pounds really fast! Of course, now I'm hungry a lot and will have to accept some of that back.

@jugar you're lucky your weather yesterday was snow. We had a light dusting and then a half inch of ice arrive at our end of the province. We're now getting another dusting to make everything extra slippery. Fun!
Hockey tonight was a slog. We had our butts handed to us and I blocked shots with parts of my body I really wish I hadn't. My left pinky will be a lovely shade of indigo by morning. But... All calories burned while having fun are fabulous. If I could find a way to afford to play daily I would. Hockey is my happy place.
I managed to log breakfast today but that's as far as I got.
Our ice maker part of our fridge is broken and hubby and I are both finding it affecting our water intake. I bought icecube trays to tide us over until we can fix it, but it's amazing how we will let that little inconvenience cause so much disruption. No fancy ice from the door, no water for me! How spoilt are we?!? Gotta up that water intake and start logging all meals. Portions are definitely not accurate.
Brad @bowens1973 you were so avid into cycling I couldn't imagine you ever hating the bike. Good for you to realize your feelings were changing and to take a step back and readjust. Being back in the office has reduced your free time so I'll bet some pent up frustration from that doesn't help when faced with losing that extra hour plus on the bike. Good call to go for shorter rides if it will keep you from walking away completely.5 -
Another day in the books.
Had lunch with friends at work, rather than eat the whole portion I saved half to have with my dinner. Felt good about that.
Exercise was simple today.. will just squeak in with my 10K steps.
Friday already tomorrow! This will be my first Friday in the office in a long time. I get to wear jeans.. woo hoo. The little things eh? Lol7 -

@KellyBgetsfit one thing I'd like to add is that sometimes to remember muscle weighs more than fat.
If you have been eating well, exercising like normal, and adding in extra physical activity like cleaning, you can build good muscle. Something important is to remind ourselves that good health is so much more than just a scale. If you work out you will build muscle and probably gain some weight because of it. I find it important to constantly reevaluate goals and the normal scale values and measurements for what you want to accomplish.
Many body builders are actually considered 'obese'for their height to weight BMI but obviously are very fit.
I find that being more of a horse/farm girl I have a lot more muscle, random muscle but muscle all the same. When I look at values for what I should weigh for my height, I know the lower number of 135 will never be an option for me, I feel like 145 would be me pushing it on the skinniness. I have been 150-155 before and felt big but looking at pictures it didn't seem like there was much more to loose when I wanted to be fit, skinny, and strong.7 -

This isn't real gain, it's TOM and I'm not feeling well, so much so that I skipped the gym yesterday and am staying home from work today. Just going to rest and try to focus on fluids and getting better today- no one wants to be sick on the weekend.
@micki48 I love this for you. I hope no one tried to guilt you about it, I don't like the sound of "what is wrong with her." I am the person in my household who does the cooking, but the unspoken agreement with my husband is, when I say "I'm not cooking tonight," he does procure dinner (because he doesn't cook, it's usually takeout or easy from the store) without complaint.
Have a great day, everyone!6
