Here we are!
I had SUCH a wonderful walk with my friend. We covered 5 miles at a good pace in the cold wind, but I think we talked 10 miles. It felt great. In any case, my step count will be excellent today, so I'm taking the day off from all kinds of other things I have not had any alcohol all week, so it was beer with dinner, and some brown rice + barley in my skillet dinner. I think I'll sleep well tonight and not wake up super hungry as usual tomorrow!
I'm curious about the lumen @conleywoods - although I don't think I'd really want to get into that level of tracking or detail. I'm happy with my somewhat chaotic self-experimentation - but I surely would want to try it out if I were stuck somewhere and my method was not working! It is amazing the kind of knowledge available now.
I am enjoying my "loose" Saturday. I hope that the covid is now seriously on the way out. If anything could blow it away, the cold wind today would have done it! We are supposed to be down to -18C by morning (0F), and I really hope that winter might finally be here. It is LATE! It has busted its timing!!!

I’m finally back home. Travel still blows my mind where I can be in England at 8am and Springfield MO at 8pm of the same day. Obviously there’s a 6hr time difference in there but it still amazes me.
Today I didn’t IF and I should have. I ended up eating a rubbish noodle salad on the airplane and then some unnecessary snacks in the lounge, ugh. I chose the salad because the alternative was a bbq sandwich and I didn’t want the repetition after eating it. The result was bad breath anyways and I’ve been doing so well that my body was like ‘wth!’.
But tomorrow is a new day and I am home. Meal planning, food shopping and sofa surfing are on my agenda ☺️7 -
Welcome home @LoraineGB ! Travel eating is always rubbish - don't worry about it. You'll be back on track and in control now. Sofa surfing too! Enjoy.
LAST CALL for this week! Let's get these last ones in by Sunday morning wherever you live - thanks!

Has anyone heard of the 12-3-30 workout? It's 12% incline at 3mph for 30 minutes on the treadmill. Wow! That is brutal, but I loved it! That might be my incline day workout!8 -
@lauren_989 Great Workout. It is brutal, you feel the burn for a while1

Happy Sunday, Friends!
I hope everyone is well today and that anyone suffering from colds or overcoming Covid gets to the other side smoothly.
@conleywoods I'm interested in how you did a 30min Peleton ride on your stationery exercise bike as I have an exercise bike too (not a Peleton)? Is there an app?
Back soon with today's weigh-in.

The holiday bloat has finally gone and good riddance!!
Happy Sunday morning from the South Carolina, USA coast. I have had a lovely couple of days walking along the beach, reading, writing, and decompressing.
I had 21,000 steps yesterday, a new personal record. I struggle to get 5,000 a day usually. My legs were a bit sore last night so I took an Epsom salt bath. You all that regularly get 10,000 steps a day are my inspiration!
I'm going to do some planning for the next couple of weeks today - meals, walks, downtime, etc. It's going to be very busy with a lot of demands so I want to make sure I am taking care of myself along the way.7 -

Thanks for all the prompt step numbers team. I will get to recording them a bit later.
Dinner theatre was fun. This particular one is not a buffet- it's a plated dinner, so that helps a bit. There is one that's a buffet and it's quite extravagant.. but I didn't have to contend with that last night. It was however a starter soup and salad, breadsticks, a main, and dessert. I ate fairly light up to that and did a hike and a long Peloton session, but I still went over maintenance calories. That will happen sometimes. The only thing is - I'm on weight loss mode again, so it just means the deficit the other days has to be greater or I shoukd expect a marginal result (if at all). We shall see.
Yeah, exercise just felt good yesterday. We did our hike - it was a shorter and easier one because we needed to get out and back in time for our show, and that we did. But it was just so nice being in the mountains. When we got home both Brad and I rode the Peloton too. I had the energy and it was feeling good so I went for it. Definitely my most active day in a while.
@adrimango Congrats on your personal best. Those days feel so good!!!
Enjoy your Sunday all. It's football Sunday here and I know Brad is doing lots of yummy cooking. I want to walk the dog and ride the bike too so exercise will also be a priority again.4 -
@ashleycarole86 - thanks! I appreciate you taking the long view about having a day with calorie intake above goal - more deficit or expect lower results. That keeps everything in perspective without getting into a shame/blame mental funk. I'm going to remember that! I'm off to take a walk on the beach.6

Morning all,
For the most part I have been really good at hitting all my targets each day, which were tracking, 10k steps and 2litres of water, though I don’t think I hit any of these on Saturday 😬
My goal for this week is the same as above, with the addition of trying to post once or twice a week (this pushes me way out of my comfort zone, so probably the hardest one yet)

I have not yet gotten back onto my strength workouts this week - the covid tiredness is my excuse! Not really sure it is real - maybe it's just from sitting around too much4 -
…Lots of taking down of decorations around here. I will get a walk in, but my foot has been bothering me a lot.
I was about to un-decorate the tree but now that Monica is home (& also positive with Covid), we’ll keep the tree lit whenever we’re in the living-room so we can all catch up a little from the pre-Christmas void whilst she was house sitting and we were working longer hours. Little wonder we picked up “The Covid” (as they say in North Carolina).
I’m feeling markedly better from Covid although cautiously optimistic. Tonight will be the last dose of Paxlovid. It’s helped a lot but aware of the possibility of “breakthrough”, if I don’t keep resting and eating decently. Oh, and drinking water. Nice, plain water works best for my digestion system which doesn’t tolerate any artificial sweeteners, including Stevia.
Here’s to a new week with increased steps, fresh air, and honeyed tisanes. Ok, coffee, too. I’m not ready to be *that* cleaned up!
Xoxo

I'm a little late with my intro this month... I'm Katie, 34, from England where I live with my husband and our two cats. I hang out in the support team these days; I've recently overcome binge eating disorder, and now I'm working with a dietician where the focus is on being healthier rather than losing weight. I need to lose over 30kg to be in a healthy BMI range, but fixing my relationship with food is more important than strict dieting right now.
Over Christmas I had zero routine - being off work but OH still working shifts - and it really threw me off. Tracking my food intake has become a big issue, partly due to this lack of routine and also I don't feel I need a lot of the BED stuff now so it feels like this huge chore. I have a dietician session on Tuesday and am hoping we'll come up with an alternative. I have, for the most part, been sticking to 3 meals and 3 snacks a day and trying to keep those balanced, plus less fast food.
My birthday is this coming week, and OH has bought me a treadmill. It's currently in pieces in the conservatory waiting for a mat to arrive to protect the floor/reduce noise. I'm looking forward to being able to use it no matter the weather, if it's dark etc - finding walking companions has been a struggle and I've spent far too much time sitting down lately. Hopefully the mat will arrive tomorrow and I can get cracking.8 -

I just have to say that your fitness numbers are always inspiring
COVID or not - you make it happen
@YinxFed
What I see when I put in your numbers is a woman who moves her body in many different ways. Strength, HIIT, yoga, biking, cardio, yoga... you've got it all girl. You crushed your goal 6/7 days this week and started January off on a great foot.
@DD265
A new treadmill - how fun! I'd like to have one of those too.. not sure I have a place to put it now but maybe someday!
@Meals12
Nice work on there on the steps this week. Looking forward to seeing you push yourself for those posts when you're ready so we can get to know more about your story. Nailing your targets across the board 6 days of the week is great from a consistency perspective!8 -
1/7 exercise:
