    Good morning!!

Thank you so much everyone for the encouragement. I know I’ve been a crappy team member for the past couple years, so it really means a lot to me that you are all so ready to lift me up and offer support.

Refusing to snack last night paid off in another great weigh in this morning. I’m feeling so optimistic. It’s also amazing what a couple pounds can do for my confidence and comfort in my clothes.

    Have a fantastic day today!!

@micaroo4 to answer your question: I do love this time of year! It’s almost my birthday so I have a fondness for spring, but I love the green, the growth every day, the time before the bugs get too bad and the noise of all the birds in the morning. The sunlight helps, too!

@askewcr That's good your sugar is down. Go get it! :D

@TeresaW2024 Oh yeah I have heard of that. I'm glad you are enjoying it. I hope the chiropractor can help me, too. I had never heard of fat pad syndrome either. Thanks! I'm glad you went to teh doctor even though it cost so much. I hope the shot and brace help.

@vegan4lyfe2012 Thank you! You should be proud of yourself. That's amazing that you are losing considering everything going on. Oliver is adorable!

@19shmoo69 That's interesting about you not being able to feel the heat. Maybe self-care for you means praying? I'm sorry you worry so much. That must be stressful.

@megnolia82 That was a good idea to come here to distract yourself.

@Katmary71 Yes, I hope that's the case. I've been to the weight loss specialist and even he couldn't budge the insurance to cover the helpful medications. The only thing that anyone can help with is surgery, which I am working on qualifying for. I couldn't do a rebounder because of my heel: I'm supposed to stay away from impact movements (I know I would land kind of softly but I don't think it is a good idea). I'm glad you had a good time at the concert! That's cool you got a backstage pass. I hope your neck feels better today.

    @Cornanda Congrats on the loss!

Thursday Ice Breaker Question: What’s your favorite type of day? I like mid to high 70s, low humidity, a slight breeze, not a cloud in the sky, the sun smiling down on me. That's a fabulous day.

HI all. I had a fabulous dinner last night, truly an experience. I did not order the filet, we decided to split the dishes between the three of us. We had:
Cattleman's Cut Bone-In Dry Aged Ribeye
Hokkaido Wagyu New York (flown in from Japan!)
    Seared Scallops
Sides: Wedge salad, woodfired carrots, asparagus, mashed potatoes, housemade Parkerhouse rolls

I had never had real Wagyu beef before. I had never had caviar before (it came with the Wagyu). Both were naturally buttery and delicious. I will be forever spoiled from getting a supermarket steak lol. Unfortunately, today, I didn't overdo eating the meal, so I am not sure why I had such a gain. I guess all the sodium. I had a 3.2 lb gain. We did eat late (at like 9) and I only slept 4 hours. :(

@vegan4lyfe2012 - My favorite snack is nuts(almonds, cashews, pistachios, walnuts, macadamias) I love them all. The problem is I have to measure out a portion or I will over eat, and only a 1/4 cup can be 180 calories. Oliver is very cute. Our grand baby is due in three weeks. I can't wait...hehehe.

@megnolia82- Great job being mindful and resisting them temptations. I like that, we were your distraction from indulging. Glad to be here to support you. You are doing fantastic at making progress.

@Katmary71 - I'm only 5 ft. I stand on my chair at concerts, so that I can see. Once in awhile, someone will complain and I will have to get down. I have a book of autographs, guitar picks and concert tickets. We used to have an awesome local concert hall, where we were able to meet many bands, after the concerts. It's such a shame it closed. It had a comedy club and a Radison Hotel attached. Radison had a beautiful rock waterfall pool. It brings back a lot of memories. I miss that place.

@19shmoo69 - My son is the opposite of you. He can tolerate cold. He never realizes how cold it is. His dad was the same way. I remember, the air conditioning on high and I could see my breath in the house in the middle of summer. Interesting water recipe. I use baking soda as a odor eliminator in my vacuum, laundry, bathroom, and frig. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/baking-soda-benefits-uses

@Cornanda - Great loss this week!

@trooworld - I've never had real Wagyu beef either. I get the filet mignon, when we go out, and I buy T-bones or sirloin from the grocery store. Your whole dinner sounds delicious. I recently read, if you eat foods high in potassium, it will counter the effects of sodium.

    Thursday Ice Breaker Question:
What’s your favorite type of day?(weather, temp, etc.)

My favorite weather is Sunny and 65 degrees with a light breeze. I set the thermostat in my house at 65 degrees too. I like full sun with the temperature, no colder than 45 and not hotter than 90. I don't mind rain, once in awhile, to give me a lazy day and to help water my garden. Snow, is nice to view, go sledding and play in. I like the variety of weather we get here in Indiana.

    @Katmary71

3 Tablespoons sea salt (I use Redmond)
    2 Tablespoons potassium chloride
    1 tablespoon magnesium chloride
Mix together (I follow the recipe and fill a small jar and shake it up to combine it)

I use 2 teaspoons of the mixture in my half gallon container.

Personally I add a half a teaspoon of baking soda (it helps with toxins in the body)

@19shmoo69 Have you tried Celtic salt? It's more expensive but has a lot of minerals. I'm going to ask the nutritionist about your recipe today but it sounds good to me. They have some different versions of structured water and one clears out all but some needed minerals so I'm not sure how it compares. The electrical part of treating it reduces the size of water molecules and organizes them for easier absorption if I'm understanding it correctly. I use apple cider vinegar or baking soda in the tub when I take Epsom salt baths so interesting tip! A friend of mine who has MS was told to do that by an Amish healer (ACV) and it makes a significant difference in pain and muscle spasms in a shorter amount of time. I've been adding salt to my water the last week and I do feel a difference in how thirsty I am. Thanks for the recipe I took a pic of it!

    @Artemis_2024 Welcome to Mission Slimpossibles!

Added the new weigh-ins and time to work out, have a great Friday friends! It was supposed to rain but the sun's out and shining so I need to move all the seedlings back into the sun.

@megnolia82 – Oh man! I needed someone to hold ME back last night – ended up eating a large cinnamon roll. Thankfully there aren’t any more in the house (for now).
@Katmary71 – You’d think I had gotten Oliver that onesie, but alas…it was one of Syd’s friends LOL. Glad you enjoyed the concert, even though you couldn’t see. All of us that are 5’ 4” and shorter should automatically get to be in front.
@Veta2018 – I learned a long time ago that I can’t keep cashews in the house. I can eat a pound in just a few days! No self-control for me at all :( How exciting for you! Do you know if you’re having a boy or girl? Or is it being kept a secret? Is this one your first? And the Radisson – was that in Merrillville? I used to work for White Lodging Services and that was one of our properties so I’d get to stay for free up to 4 nights per year. I saw Keith Sweat and K-Ci & JoJo there in concert way back in the day. After the concert, my friend and I went to the bar and they were hanging out. So freaking awesome! Now that’s some great reminiscing!

What’s your favorite type of day? (weather, temp, etc.)
I am all about autumn. When the weather turns windy and cool, the leaves turn and are about to fall. Sweater weather is what makes me happy. 45-50 degrees with crackling fire pits, horror movies, warm cider, pumpkin patches, haunted houses. Oh man. Give me October all year long and I’d be a happy girl. I may need to retire to the Upper Peninsula in a decade or so…

Well, y’all…so much for staying on task. I gave in and had a scrumdiddlyumptious cinnamon roll last night when I had already used up all my calories. I have no idea how many calories it was since I get all my vegan treats from a Naturals grocery store that has their own bakery. Ingredients are listed, but never any nutritional info. I brought my salad with beans for lunch to work today. I stepped on the scale this morning, so I’ve got some focusing to do before my official Sunday morning weigh in. Not going to beat myself up for it, tho. On to better and brighter things!

Oh – and I have an NSV (non-scale victory) – I had gotten a sweatshirt that says “Happiness is being a Grammy” and it used to be kinda close on the hips. Since I’ve lost 20 pounds, I decided to give it a try thing morning…and was actually able to wear it to work as it doesn’t touch my sides! Woot Woot! I definitely needed that for some extra motivation.

Make good choices today and drink you water! I love you all and appreciate you – now let's take care of ourselves!

Well, Rich doesn't know about this yet, but I signed us up to have 10 windows replaced in the house. It's pretty expensive, but it's a local company, the warranty is fantastic, and they gave me 36 months financing no interest. And if we sell the house, the warranty is transferable. I'm pretty excited to have nice windows again. It's no more than a car payment. And I don't really want a new car! So this is a much better way to spend the money. I'm even thinking about doing six more windows, probably next year.

Favorite Day: warm and clear. About 25 C. Just enough to feel the summer heat, but not enough to get sweaty by sitting outside. A slight breeze is helpful with keeping mosquitoes away (our provincial bird).

Now I want a nap on the hammock.

@Katmary71 I used to use Celtic salt before the world knew about it. When I needed to order more the price had doubled and I couldn't afford it anymore. That's why I started using Redmond. There's a video that does salt comparisons. If I can find it again I'll share it.

@megnolia82 You are doing an awesome job!!

@trooworld Glad to hear that your chiropractor appointment went well. Wow, your dinner sounds delicious. I'm growing lettuce from seed for the first time this year, I usually plant the kitchen scrapes and let them grow. I remember reading an article that shorter sleep durations cause short-term weight gain. I hope you get good sleep today.

@askewcr Congrats on getting your sugar levels down !!

    @TeresaW2024 $600 !! That's crazy. I hope your hand heals soon.

@Veta2018 Thanks Valeta! I will pick a spot with lots of light for these guys. Sorry to hear about the frost. The weather fluctuations are such a bummer. I hope your plants survived the frost.

@sleepygirl79 Enjoy the spring weather!! I hope the heart stress test went well so you return to running.

@vegan4lyfe2012 OMG ! Oliver is so cute !!! I hear you, there is no way anyone can say no to that face :)
Popcorn is my favorite snack, I can't resist it. Luckily my kids love it too so I share my bag with them so I don't eat the whole bag. Congrats on your NSV !! I like the saying on the sweatshirt. :)

@19shmoo69 It's interesting the gauging heat thing, glad your wife helped you out. I can handle heat well. During summers I don't feel the need to turn on A/C. I always thought it was because I grew up in southern India with 104 - 114F temps, but turns out it's just me. Hydration is the biggest challenge for me, I always forget to drink water. Thanks for sharing the hydration recipe, I will try it out. Your daughter looks beautiful! I agree the shawl or throw looks so well on her.

What’s your favorite type of day?
I prefer hot or warm days with a breeze, I don't mind rain on a hot day. I like the smell of the soil when it rains on a hot day.

@Katmary71 Glad you were able to enjoy the concert and the company of friends. Thanks for checking it out for me. :) much appreciated!

I'm finally off the pain meds and it doesn't hurt anymore. Yay !!!

    Happy Weekend Everyone :)

@vegan4lyfe2012 Funny I could see you buying that onesie! I'm a cashew lover too and can't keep them in the house for the same reason. Happiness is being a grammy in a sweatshirt that's not tight, great NSV! Love you too!

@Veta2018 How exciting the grandchild is almost here! That sounds like a wonderful concert hall I'm sorry to hear it closed. I'm glad you have a lot of great memories of it. I'm glad I got to see Geoff Tate in a smaller venue, it's so much more personal than the big festivals. I've wanted to check out the one in Sacramento but the setting and it being all day would be extremely tough.

@19shmoo69 The nutritionist pointed out I'm getting plant versions of potassium and magnesium through mineral supplements I'm taking. I AM supposed to use salt in my water. When I asked about Celtic salt she told me she trades off a couple types of salt but it's in rotation. My best friend started sending me things on Celtic salt a couple years ago, I haven't tried it personally but she likes the taste. It IS expensive now grrr. It's frustrating when you're using something and the price skyrockets when it becomes more popular. I'm sorry that happened. I haven't ordered Celtic because of the price. I'll keep an eye out for Redmond's. Funny I think I DID see that video of someone trying different salts. Your daughter looks BEAUTIFUL! I love the dress and the shawl looks perfect, I hope your baby has a wonderful time.

@megnolia82 You're not a crappy team member please don't say that, you're part of our family here. High five you're doing awesome! It helps having proof on the scale or mirror that resisting is worth it doesn't it? When is your birthday?

@trooworld I really hope the surgery is approved. That makes sense, I'd asked the woman at the clinic who uses a rebounder and I thought it would make me worse and she said your feet don't have to leave the ground but there's still gravity there so I agree with you. Thanks it is. Wow that dinner sounds delicious! I'd guess sodium too on the weigh-in, when I was weighing in on Sundays every time I went to a restaurant even if I got healthy meals I'd have a gain.

@sleepygirl79 A nap in a hammock on a slightly warm day with a little breeze sounds like heaven!

@micaroo4 That's exciting on the windows being replaced, I hope it goes over well with Rich.

@Divya365 Thank you! Woohoo congrats on feeling better that's great news!

Hi friends! I worked for a couple hours, went to the store, then back to the clinic for my treatment which took a few hours. My neck feels great now, she was able to draw a lot of the inflammation out thank goodness. My friend is coming in the morning and we're going out for lunch, I'm hoping to send her home with a lot of tomato plants. The plants are like 3xs as tall as the solo cups so I need to find homes yesterday! Have a great Saturday.

    Good morning!

One more day to behave myself and not blow the amazing progress I’ve made this week. Whats everyone up to today? I’ve got house cleaning to do. Seems it just builds up every week to full-blown disaster by Saturday. Sigh.

@tammymccrady6278 fantastic week! Hang in there through those early mornings.

@Katmary71 I am not opposed to holistic medicine at all! Let’s wait and see if the steroid shot works, and if not, let’s talk. I really don’t want to do a surgery! 😕I’m glad you had a great time at the concert with your friends and brother. I hope your neck is better today. <3

@trooworld That dinner sounds fantastic!! I’ve never had caviar and would love to try it someday. I’m jealous of you! I’m sure that the weight gain was sodium, and it will come off by next week.

@vegan4lyfe2012 l do love sweater weather, too! Cinnamon rolls are so good! Sometimes you gotta do it. And now that the sweatshirt fits, you can control your cinnamon roll urges to just once in a while. :)

@micarro4 Having new windows will be a plus to your home. I hope Rich is as excited as you are. :)

@19shmoo69 Your daughter is a real beauty! I hope she had a wonderful time at her prom. :) I use Redmond’s salt, too, and love it! My husband has to drink a lot of electrolytes because of his low sodium issues, so I’m interested in your recipe. I now buy him an electrolyte from Primal Harvest that he enjoys. But it is pricey.

    Welcome @Artemis_2024 !
@vegan4lyfe2012 - My grand baby will be a boy! His name will be Carson. He will be my first. Yes...It was the Radisson in Merrillville. I've met many bands in that bar. Congratulations on the NSV! Lets make good choices today. <3
@micaroo4 - How can you pass up 36 months of no interest? I transferred my debts to a zero interest credit card to pay them off.
@sleepygirl79 - We live near the river, so the mosquitoes get really bad here. We sometimes sit outside with a fan on to keep the mosquitoes away or I have to coat myself with mosquito spray.
@ninyagwa - Great loss this week!

We're working on the new house today. All the electric is fixed, so we will be hanging drywall this weekend. Went out late last night and had a smoothie after I was done calculating my calories. I went a little over but did a great workout.
