Sounds like fun, Meg! Enjoy the trip and the quiet--it's the last of either you'll have for some time!

I've done 30 Day Shred before--it's brutal. You have fun with that, Blue.

    Good on you, JL.

I'm still sick. feeling better--not as congested--but still sick. And everything tastes like *kitten* from the zinc spray. Ick. I think I'm done with it. I'll take my chances.

The good news is I only had to go to work for an hour today, so I can catch up on stuff I didn't do at home while I sat on the couch all weekend. It was high 80s and humid as hell Fri and Sat; yesterday was loads better. I'd go for a walk but I"m still really tired, so I'll take one more day off. Tomorrow I'm hoping to be more or less back to normal.

How are you feeling today Jen? Hopefully better!

JL - how I envy you to be able to cross the border so easily to go shopping! It's pretty much a day trip for me just to get there LOL I just make the best of it when I do go. Of course you had to have lunch  That's part of the fun.

Meg I will gladly trade for your 90 degrees! Anytime. Bring. It. On! Why I live in this climate, I'll never understand LOL Your CA trip sounds wonderful - how awesome you get to catch a game too!

It was snowing again this morning - big fluffy flakes that should only ever fall on Christmas Eve  Yesterday's snow didn't stick around but it's dark and gloomy again today. Calgary got a ton of snow! What a difference only a couple of hours distance makes.

Wes left for the airport as I was getting up this morning so I did the Shred again by myself. Thankfully I did all those squats and lunges in NR - it really does make the Shred so much easier. My arms and abs are hurting this morning tho. The chest flies and all those crunches!! No real crunches in NR!

I'm booking my 2015 Christmas trip this week! We are going to cruise Hawaii   Can't wait - I've never been and every time I watch Hawaii 5-0 I really want to go LOL With the trip to Denmark in the spring I only had a few vacation days left but the timing seems to work. I turn 50 next year (ACK!) so it will be a year to remember. The couple we travel with at Christmas - she turns 50 too. She's 3 days older than me - I remind her of that constantly LOL We might try to squeeze Vegas in there too sometime around the big day(s). I won't have any money left after all that but oh well! And who knows what the diet will be like LOL YOLO right? :drinker:

Jen, Yes, I hope you're feeling better today!

Meg, 90 degrees?? wowza, it was 28 deg here over the weekend, which is low 80s and that was warm enough for me!

BB, I'm very lucky I can cross the border within 20 min of leaving my place. I've been a tourist in Seattle more than I've been a tourist in Vancouver it feels like sometimes. And what is with the snow in Alberta right now? I was talking with some of my branches in the prairies and we still can't get over that its snowing in early September. Its times like these that I'm happy to be on the West Coast :) And yes, you should definitely book that cruise to Hawaii, you won't regret it. I went there 2 years ago for my first trip to the islands and I can't get enough of Hawaii time. I've been the last 2 years and I'm booked to go again in a month! Cannot come quick enough - although I don't feel quite ready for swimsuit season...but I'm getting closer each day (as I munch on my lunch dessert - an apple).

How's everyone else's day going so far?

What the eff is with the snow, Blue? that's crazy! I can't even. I think I'd curl up and die if I saw some right now, given how long the winter was.

I'm ok--still sniffly but better. I think I'll skip the walk today as I'm beat--my sleep's been off all week--and I'll get it in tomorrow.

Work was good--one class had outdoor ed today, so that was fun, esp since it's only in the 70s today. I even wore a sweater. Yay for sweaters. I do, however, want to eat all the carbs. Funny thing about cooler weather. I'd give my arm for a pumpkin donut. Instead I ate m&ms, which I never eat--a whole packet from the vending machine! Good thing I've been undereating my TDEE for several days!

Wellll I just ate a giant cookie :blushing: oops. So much for my controlled eating this week before vacation!

Blue - Hawaii is amazing. You'll have a blast!

JL - Where in Canada do you live? I spent a lot of time between Bellingham and Vancouver in college as I went to Western :)

Jen - Glad you're feeling better. Get some sleep!

We will be there Dec 2015! Not until next year but as I was informed when I declined the insurance - it's 472 days away

I'm not really a big fan of Christmas. I hate the commercialism of it all. While I like to buy gifts for people I hate it when it's more of an obligation than something I want to do. Last year we went away for the first time and loved it! I don't need snow for it to feel like Christmas - I'll take the sun and sand of the Caribbean any day  We are cruising again this Christmas - Southern Caribbean this time! And this year we will be on the ship for Christmas and New Years.

People around here just call me the Grinch  I have a Grinch in my office - he's my year round decoration

What a morning - not a great start to the day. I was stuck at a train for 30 min this morning coming to work. My turn was just the other side of the tracks - ARGHH!! For some reason the train was just not moving! To turn around and go the other way would be about 10k and then the traffic heading the other direction was also backed up so it was a no win situation. So I sat. And waited. And waited...

This was after waking up at 2 am and not being able to go back to sleep :grumble: No workout for me this morning. Which is probably a good thing - I'm really feeling the DOMS from the Shred. When I talked to Wes yesterday, he's feeling them too  We will try again tomorrow!

Now I see why you wrote that I win on FB, Blue! Sounds like you've had a rough one, too. We should meet for a cocktail to get past our days. Oh, wait.

Yeah sorry about that Jen - harder to type using my phone so I keep it short and sweet

I'm in for a cocktail! :drinker: Anytime  We don't have to be in the same place to enjoy one together do we?

No trains this morning - YAY!! For the first time this week I actually go to work on time! I hit some sort of crazy traffic on Monday too but I was only 5 min late that morning. Not 30 min like yesterday!

Wes's flight got in later than scheduled so I waited up for him. Neither of us felt like getting up early for a workout - 2 days in a row now I've jammed. I've got to stop that. At least get up and ride the bike for 30 min! I'm not working tomorrow so I can get a good one in.

Other than that, another boring day at the office :drinker:

Morning ladies! Sorry you guys had crappy days yesterday Blue and Jen... but hey it's almost Friday! YAY! I will be joining you ladies in a virtual distance cocktail in t-minus (hopefully) 10 weeks! I hit the 30 week mark today... eek!

I'm pretty proud of my workouts this week - went to the gym Monday and yesterday. Did incline walking and leg strength on Monday and incline walking and arm/back strength yesterday. I also got to my yoga class on Tuesday. I'm hoping to get a swim in tomorrow morning at the hotel pool and lot's and lot's of walking over the weekend. It's funny, there are times I'm feeling like I'm slowing down, and times I have so much energy I don't know what to do with it.

I had to do a double take last night in the mirror but to my horror, I'm getting stretch marks on my belly. Just two patches below/on either side of my belly button. :grumble: I don't know why I thought I would escape them... I started getting them in 5th grade during my first growth spurt, so I should have expected it. Sigh, such is life... there is obviously a good reason for them.

Doesn't lots of moisturizer help with stretch marks? I think being fit and exercising is also supposed to help (says the woman who's never been pregnant! LOL) Or am I just repeating old wives tales?

Great job getting your workouts in! I think we always think of vacation in terms of food but there's usually so much more walking involved than we realize. I remember being in Vegas last year and hitting over 20k steps one day from shopping alone! We had dinner at the cheesecake factory so any benefit gained from the steps was pretty much gone in one bite  But oh, so worth it! Enjoy your vacation!!

I think cocoa butter is supposed to help. I have them from growth, too, but not of the baby variety :)

Another rough day at the OK Corral. My first year class had outdoor ed this week--teambuilding exercises, ropes course. I'm counting it as my exercise today. I came home and had a stiff drink, leftover pizza. I find guesstimating pizza from the amounts in here such a challenge.

new tattoo tomorrow--I'll let you know how it goes! Nice job, Meg!

Stretch marks are genetic. If your mom or dad has them and you gain then lose weight you will have them.

    Happy Friday! :drinker:

I woke up with a horrible sore throat and my head feels like it's about to burst  instead of our virtual drink Jen, I think you sent me your cold lol.

I know what you mean about logging some foods. We had a catered breakfast brought in last week - quiche. It's tough to pick one that seems reasonable.

I have some cousins in town from the coast so were having a family dinner tonight. In our family that usually means more booze than food :drinker: I was hoping to get a workout in but I really don't feel like it. I'm thinking a nice nap is more in order.

    Enjoy the weekend!

    Sorry I infected you!

I got my regular loop walk in this morning (I can't recall if it's 3.25 or 3.5). Cleaned the house some, got my new tattoo, and went to a beer fest tonight. Not a bad day! I thought for a while it was going to be another beast of a day but it worked out :)

    Enjoy the family dinner!
