Broccoli in ramen is my lazy way to at least get a vegetable in.

Snow only amounted to a couple of slushy inches when all was said and done=a good thing for all the travelers today!

I did Supercharged Basic II/B yesterday for the second time. Something in my knee is tweaky--it started midway through my workout--so here's hoping it's nothing serious. I did some of my PT yesterday to offer it a little love.

I did 55lbs on the front squats, 25 for the off-loaded step up, and upped my pulldown weight (you're none knee) to 50. I used one of the lower-mounted cable pulls rather than the straight overhead one so that I could better reach it, which might have made it easier. I also had the body positioning correct, which probably helped. I did three full sets of 10 jackknife pushups, and did 14 regular ones when I got home to compete with my husband (I won). I thought my shoulders would be tight today but i feel pretty fine--a good thing, since there's a few inches of slushy snow and ice to dig up this morning.

have a good day! It's funny to think we have a major holiday today while you all are going about your regular lives. I'm going to stuff my face and roll onto the couch.

Happy Thanksgiving Jen! Enjoy the rolling on the couch :) Even tho it's not ours, I intend to do the exact same thing! WE did Octoberfest at work today - perogies, cabbage rolls, bratwurst, the whole shebang! I was there to assist at 7am and even tho I got my workout in this morning, I got another one in setting up tables and chairs and standing frying 72 sausages. I'm sure feeling it in my back (and in my tummy - I'm so ready to nap!)

Awesome numbers on your lifts - and way to go beating Ben on the pushups! Before Jillian I used to be able to beat Wes too ;)

    Jillian's a cruel mistress.

I didn't end up eating too much, all things considered; I've ballpark estimated my cals yesterday to be about my normal intake. Plus we had all that glorious morning shoveling. How much snow did you get? We didn't get much, ultimately, but it rained on top of it and froze, so it was kind of awkward and heavy to remove.

Something is definitely pinchy in my knee, as well as in my hip--since they're both on the same side, I'm guessing they're connected, and that I probably should be using my foam roller more often than never, which is what i usually do :) Taking a lifting today off today and maybe tomorrow--no running, either--in hopes that it sorts itself out.

    Your Octoberfest sounds lovely!

We got this much ;). Probably about a foot but there's been lots of drifting. Another 2 inches today. I'm not working so it's a good day to hibernate. Highs of -20 so definitely a good day to stay inside!

My back is still acting wonky - just tweaked it setting up tables. I might try to ride the bike to do something - the scale was up 2 lbs this morning from the feast yesterday. And it's TOM so that's probably adding to it. Hopefully rest will help your knee - best not to push it.

Arrggh. Good day to hibernate, indeed! What's with us, again? We always get injured simultaneously. Here's hoping Meg hasn't thrown our her arm or something to make it a trio. You fine, Terrie?

Went for a massage this afternoon - it provided a bit of relief. Just not enough ;( So now I'm hunkered down in my Jammie's waiting for the Oilers game to start.

Another hibernating day today. High is a whopping -21c with a -40 windchill! Brrrrrrr! Most of my Christmas shopping is done so I will get it all wrapped today. Wes has a bit of running around to do - I MAY go with him or I might just be on the couch with my blankie :) binge watching some shows on TV.

No workout today :( I'm still sore from the massage and my back is still bothering me. Usually a good nights sleep will make it go away. Alas, not his time :(

I can't believe you're wrapping your gifts in november. Usually I' do it near the last minute.

I spent most of yesterday hibernating on the couch watching TV and doing some embroidery. I watched the Good Wife, two episodes of the Wire, the Amazing Race, and some other stuff. Have you tried some ibuprofen and a heating pad for your back? Those are my go-too things when I've reached my limit.

I just cleaned our bathroom, including dissembling and cleaning (and reassembling) the drain. it was gross. Now I'm too tired and creaky for the gym, right? :)
    Feel better!

Well, my plan for hibernation didn't quite go according to plan. Wes went out to do the running around and I stayed home to do laundry etc. until.... I get the phone call! Wes locked his keys in the car so I had to go rescue him lol I got some toblerone for my efforts :) Which I promptly ate! o:)

We are heading to Calgary next weekend for Wes's Christmas party so I will be taking some gifts with me. Plus my second 'son' will be here on the 16th with his family so I have to be ready by then - I'm not normally this prepared lol. And then we leave on the 19th! 20 more sleeps!! It's going to go by so fast!

The hot water bottle was certainly my friend yesterday. Today feels more like just a twinge. Although my pecs are bruised from my massage! Ouch! If not tomorrow, we'll be back at it on Monday.

Everything was back to normal yesterday but I didn't chance it and thought I'd workout this morning instead. Wes jammed on me to work (???) so I just rode the bike. After being a sloth all weekend it felt good to do something! It's warming up somewhat - highs of only -10c which is a nice change from the -26 on the weekend!

Got most of my wrapping done - I love buying, but I hate wrapping! My purchases were all for age 3 and under so they love ripping the wrap. I guess I can suck it up at least once a year to do it!

I love wrapping. I think it's fun. but I have relatives who put everything in bags, so I think they're thinking like you! :)

I'm glad you're on the mend! I was in awful, awful pain today. I couldn't sit, couldn't walk without feeling it. I've been feeling like that damn UTI was back, and then today was excruciating. Then, abruptly, it wasn't. I went to the dr and she said she thinks I may have passed a kidney stone, or be in the process of passing it so now it's hiding somewhere else, just not in the spot causing awful pain. I'm not out of pain, but it's like a 1 or 2 and here and there rather than a 7 or 8 and generally consistent. Needless to say, between that and work today I didn't get to the gym. I suppose I could go back out there now, but I'm just not feeling it. I have to start taking antibiotics again later today, but first have a ladies' night with the wife of one of my DH's friends. They're new to town, so we hang out! She's great.

OUCH! That sounds nasty! At least sore muscles go away instead of hiding and pouncing again when you least expect it! Sounds like you have a nice evening planned - what are you doing? Dinner and drinks?

It all depends on who I'm wrapping for, I guess. I do like the convenience of bags, I gotta admit :) I have a huge stash and scads of tissue paper but it always seems that when I need a specific one, I never have that size so I go buy more LOL For someone who doesn't like wrapping, I sure have a ton of it!

I heard from my 'daughter in law' - they will be here on the 16th for one night! I can't wait to see those two little munchkins :) Oliver will be three in March and Cooper was just born Oct 1 - OMG I'm so excited. There will be some major squishage going on :):) I promise to let them breathe LOL Only two weeks away!

Snow was around but nothing too crazy (although the drivers didn't feel that way). We have had some decent temperatures the past couple of days though, so things are looking up... especially with my cruise in 2.5 days!!
Getting my last run in before the honeymoon tonight. Probably a good thing since I tried on 4 pairs of jeans that have been in my closet and I couldn't pull any up (I have never had that before, eek).

Oh, I've had that. I've shopped my own closet for sizes up and down for years. :P It's annoying.

    Have a great trip!

Very busy couple of days this week; I graded all day yesterday and got up at 530 this morning to keep going. I have slept poorly the last two nights but am still hoping to get to the gym this afternoon once classes are over. I feel a little ragged, and Ben's got a cold now. I'm hoping that I'll quickly mend once I finish the antibiotics today. the pain I had in my pelvis earlier this week and last weekend is all but gone--I get a brief flash every rare occasion, so it's probably totally unrelated. yay!

OMG Jen we're two peas in a pod. I'm not sleeping well either :( Most annoying to wake up at 2:30 and not be able to go back to sleep. I slept in this morning but got a 5min BWM in at least.

We've got two Christmas parties this weekend. Dinner theatre tonight and at a casino outside of Calgary tomorrow night. Food is never an issue at these things (only if I have dessert o:) ) it's the drinks that get me every time! Now that I hardly drink anymore, I'm a pretty cheap drunk LOL They sure eat away at the calorie allotment tho! Oh well - It's happened before, it will happen again. I will just enjoy myself and get back on track on Monday.

Have a great time on your cruise Terrie! BTW - you won't be needing any jeans where you're going ;) I always wear my yoga pants and jacket on the plane (both ways) and then I have those to wear if it's chilly but it never has been. They get tossed in the suitcase until the day we leave. I've done this so often I have it down to an art form :) Traveling to Europe in the winter has got me all flustered - I've never packed for a long winter trip before! LOL

STILL haven't gotten to the gym! Night three of poor sleeping--I was on the couch while DH coughed and wheezed in the bed. I thought about going early, since I was awake, but tried to doze off and on instead until I had to get moving for work. Then I had a haircut, and now I'm too cute to work out :) I won't make it tomorrow, either, as we have to help our friend set up for her husband's surprise party starting at 1030, and the gym doesn't open until 10. Days like that, I kind of wish I went to a non-university gym.

Oh well. What's a few extra calories this time of year? :) Sunday, I swear I'll make it.
