OMG you guys, you have to try this one if you can find it:

Gelato Fiasco Dark Chocolate Caramel Sea Salt. I was a little hesitant to buy it because so far my experience with Gelato Fiasco has been very hot or cold. I loved the Peanut Butter Stracciatella but didn't much care for the Cookie Therapy. And I don't usually go in for dark chocolate-- I much prefer lighter chocolate flavor. But this one is incredible. No mix-ins, but the texture is so smooth. It's like a super decadent and rich chocolate pudding. The only criticism I have is that the caramel flavor wasn't particularly evident to me. They could have made it even better if they had put a caramel swirl. But if you see it grab it, especially if you're a chocolate lover. You won't be sorry.

eta: the calories are extremely reasonable too. Only 170 calories per serving.

I just went online to see if it is available near me - not in STL but it is available at a store in KC not far from my brothers house.... Methinks a trip home to visit family is in my future!

I'm not a huge chocolate lover, but maybe my wife will want to give it a go -- their website says there's a single grocery out west, about 10 miles south of me. Perhaps next time I pass by . . .

Man, now I feel compelled to go get it. According to their website, there's one location in Santa Barbara, and one in Palo Alto a few miles south of me. The next western-most location looks to be Wichita, KS. I feel obligated to try this on behalf of all those poor souls between the Pacific Ocean and the other side of the Rockies (in addition to all those not close to one of the considerably more frequent eastern locations). And thinking about our group members outside the US . . . well, maybe I need to grab several pints, then. *sympathetic smilie*

Idk if you'll like it, not being a chocolate person. I just had serving #2 and was a bit nervous I'd regret giving it such a strong recommendation but it was just as good the second time around.

I know it's not anything spectacular, but I got me some Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream at Shoprite today.

I'm being induced on Thursday (unless I go into labor earlier) and I just need some goddamn chocolate ice cream in my life. And brownies. lol.

Congratulations in advance. Can't go wrong with brownies.

Tonight I took some yogurt & used three servings of brownie mix & made a dip out of it.

I've never had the B&J's Chocolate Fudge Brownie but I do like their Mississippi Mud Pie.

So while I was at Fresh Market getting the Gelato Fiasco I also got this one:

    af1c85c8-7c84-4738-901e-57409aab2c94_zps00edc771.jpg

It's their house brand tiramisu gelato. It was really solid. No mix-ins, but a good balance of flavors and decent calorie count- 190 per 100g.

Wow, 190 for 100g is really good! It's hard to find counts like that!

I did a double take on both that one and the Gelato Fiasco. The GF doesn't have weight listed for the serving size but the contents of the container divided by 4 is 120g, which is on par with the serving size they gave . . . was it Jen or Karen? . . . well anyway, the weight they gave for the Peanut Butter Stracciatella. So 170 for 120g on that one and 190 for 100g on this one-- both excellent.

This picture didn't turn out as well as I had hoped but we went out for a great dinner with friends the other night that was as close to the same type of food as we had in Florence as I've found here in STL (or anywhere else).

The place makes all their pastas and gelato in house. Here is the gelato selection, I tried almost all of them, I will try to squint and read the little placards for you. Left to right, back row: Basil, Gingerbread, Salted Caramel, Dark Chocolate, Vanilla Bean. Front row: Grapefruit/tequila/chili honey sorbetto, Taleggio with Blue Cheese and Raspberries (I think - didn't try that one), Rye IPA with Apricot and Black Walnut Brittle, White Chocolate Peppermint, and Ozark Campfire.

My favorite was probably the Salted Caramel but I feel like that is pretty common these days (gosh I remember when it was a novelty!). I liked the white chocolate peppermint A LOT. It tasted exactly like William Sonoma Peppermint Bark - but I ate a ton of that over the holidays... when it was time to order I got the Rye IPA, which I liked in the small taste but it was a little overwhelming for a whole scoop - I ended up mixing it with my husband's Salted Caramel to help balance it...

It actually was my least favorite Cortelli, and I have no issue with either booze or spice... it just had a really strange, off putting flavor.

Cutting as in dropping some fat? Yes. I let myself go from before Thanksgiving, and combined with some minor annoyances / injuries that prevented me from a regulr lifting program week in and week out, I plan to drop 10 or so pounds. Just started.
