It was delicious! But then I like seafood almost as much as ice cream0 -

6 Course Tasting Menu for a friend's birthday - crazy expensive, especially with wine pairings, but it was an amazing experience. All the produce is grown on site.
Pistou Soup (cold) with Chantilly Cream:
Bruleed Corn Tartlet with Jalapeno Vinagrette and Marigold Petals:
Salmon En Papillote with Tomatoes, Olives and Capers:
This was my least favorite course... Taleggio Cheese and Potato Souffle with Hen of the Woods Mushroom Sauce (not a mushroom fan). The picture looks awful, my friends said it was better than it looked.
And the last savory course, which was our favorite: Smoked Duck Canneloni with Brown Butter Lavender Sauce
Dessert pic over in the gelato thread...0 -
Grr.... not sure why everything is off center when I post from Photobucket. Suggestions from more experienced bucket heads?0

^wow, that's some gorgeous food. Well, except for the mushroom one but I probably would have liked it because I'm a mushroom fan.0

Thanks to the pizza box thread I was craving supreme pizza like crazy. This is from our local hole-in-the-wall pizza joint. It was incredible.0 -

Now I want pizza! Wonder if anyone would deliver at 9:30 in the morning0 -
Tonight's dinner!
Burger with Jack Daniel's BBQ sauce, bacon, brie..they forgot my caramelized onion but it was still wonderful. In the background is JD steak & mashed potatoes.
ETA: This doesn't seem to want to re-size but sometimes if I wait a few minutes it fixes itself...

My first experience making mac n cheese. This one uses smashed roasted garlic as the base for the roux.

I love baked mac and cheese. My husband prefers creamy and of course the kids only want Kraft... I'm going to remember this if I have a family gathering or something!

Made this for dinner Friday night - Pioneer Woman's Lemon Basil Grilled Chicken Pasta... it was yummy, and I got to use some of my copious amounts of basil in my garden!

I got 2 nice cuts of Shell Steak. I was going to the store and Dora said she's going to season it for me to cook later. I told her only put salt and pepper. She decided to marinade it in a peppercorn sauce. I wasn't to please but it didn't taste bad.
I'm with Dora on the peppercorn marinade... That looks really great - and nice job on achieving medium rare with good grill marks!0 -

Friday night on our camping trip made pizzas over the grate on the open fire. Sacrificed 1.5 of them to charred crusts before finally getting it right on this Margherita pizza. The smoke really gave it great flavor though.
Last night I made Red Curry Coconut Peanut Chicken over basmati rice. I'm really proud of this one, because my kids actually ate it.

I went across town to one of the best pizza places in the city get this on Saturday:
White pizza with fingerling potatoes, pancetta, parmesan cheese, and herbs. It is magical. I never thought I'd be in love with a pizza that doesn't have pepperoni or tomato sauce, but I am.
Edit: of course the pic is giant. Oh well, resizing it is too much of a hassle on a mobile..click to view in a new tab if you want to see the whole thing
That looks so good, and I totally agree about switching from pepperoni with tomato sauce to some more eclectic pizzas... a friend of mine made a potato pizza one time and it was delicious! I've also made a mexican chicken pizza with white beans and garlic kind of mashed up and drizzled with chili oil, then chicken, monterey jack cheese, jalapenos and cilantro on it. SO GOOD!!!0 -

I'm a major pizza traditionalist but that does look delicious.0 -

I posted a post-workout recovery snack in the "Sweets" thread and it's time for the same in the Savory thread.
Almost two ounces of leftover new york strip, served cold and drizzled with fig & balsamic vinegar marinade; a bit of Boursin garlic & herb soft cheese; a few olive & fig crisps from Trader Joe's for the cheese; and a nice Guinness to accompany it. Nothing too fancy but very yummy and a nice filling snack after a long cardio session (I do *not* like cardio but it is sometimes a necessary evil). 371 cals with a nice 19c 12f 19p breakdown.
