8.35 miles walked today

4.2 miles run/walk. I ran 3.1 in 36:55, almost a minute faster than my fastest so far. I tried to talk myself out of it every few feet along the way and came close a lot of timesbut somehow managed to keep going. I wish I knew how to shut down those voices that keep telling me to stop. But, I'm glad I did it, I'm trying to do that distance twice a week for my 5K in 13 days.
Congrats on the faster 5k today! I hate those voices too. Need to make a louder, stronger voice letting you know how great you feel running!!! Mine battle it out in my head, true story!! (Ok now I sound looney LOL )
I did my 10 mile run! And now it's nap time LOL! Have a great end of the weekend!

@ amazingmummy - Glad to have you back. Of course it's not too late - and that goes for everyone.
@sufferlandrian - when I first read your post I thought it said 30C and I thought to myself that's warm but not insanely warm. Then I realized it was 30F. Oh dear! Really? Don't you have summer in Montana?
@kar328 - you did conquer those voices because you finished! Whenever they start up again (like the next time you run LOL) just remember you showed them who's in charge! Seriously the techniques I use are to "trick" myself into just doing one more mile (or minute or whatever works) and I just keep doing one more over and over. I also have a mantra I repeat that reminds me I'm stronger than the voices.
@sunflower9194 - very impressed with your tri!
Lots going on this weekend - sorry if I missed anyone.
As for me, I took a couple of lazy days after my long run on Thursday but got in a short one today bringing my total up to 27. Was glad to get in my run because I had a scare today when my mom was taken to the ER. Fortunately my sister was able to get over to help (I live a long way away) and all is well now. I know there are a number of us here caring for elderly parents or have recently lost one and it's not easy.
Have a great week @ss movers!0 -
Visited our daughter at college this weekend and went to the football game. Always loved walking a college campus. Added 7 miles yesterday and only 2.5 miles today. (Spent more time in the car getting home today)
September total 55.5 miles
Hope everyone had a good weekend! Enjoy your Monday! :happy:0 -
@clepant I was having trouble last week with Ticker factory. If I opened it new or used the history from the day before it acted like I had never set up the ticker. I ended up going back a few days in my history (usually 3 or 4) and opening it from there. That seemed to find the ticker I already set up. No idea why it started doing this, but I know I was frustrated too. I didn't have any problems myself the last couple of days, so maybe I'm OK now (fingers crossed)
I hope this helps. Good Luck :flowerforyou:0 -
no mileage..but lots of moving boxes...cabinets are lined up..just waiting for the plumber and the electrician. more hurry up and wait. Oh and just to add some more fun into the already hectic life...i get to have gull bladder surgery next week...0

CLEPANT - I don't use Ticker Factory any longer. I prefer LilySlim.com, but hopefully you saw TAXMOM's post above and maybe that will help you with Ticker Factory.
WANDERAN - OH NO! Sorry to hear about the upcoming surgery. Hope it all goes well. :flowerforyou:
CARLSODA - Sorry to hear that too...my sincerest sympathies to you and your family. :flowerforyou:
VERDEMUJER - Congrats on the record step day! 20K is a lot of steps!
MANDERIN1973 - Welcome and good luck! Looks like you're off to a great start already! If you haven't already, please go back to PAGE 1 of this thread and read the first post and it should answer most questions you might have about this challenge....if not, ask away!
