Woo Hoo! We made to February. Just in time to drink for Valentines Day!

Hello and welcome to the thread that acknowledges alcohol. We like it.
Most of us drink it. We struggle with the effect it has on our weight loss. We support each other when we strive to control it. We support each other when we fail to control it.

This is a support zone. Not a judging zone.

I can't beleive it is February already. I would really like to put up a zero day so maybe I will start with today!

I have to work tomorrow morning and hangover nursing is not fun.

I did order the vine infused whip cream from Groupon. It should arrive just in time for VD. Any thougths on how to use it?

My weigh-in was goood today...lost 1.8 for the week....I am thrilled and hopefully will be in the elusive 160s. I weigh in for another contest on Friday....then, all bets are OFF!! Bring on the booze!! Hopefully, I'll be a cheap lush!!

Kate, I am sending you vibes to not open the bottles (not strong ones, but vibes anyway)

Robin, start the month any way you want.

Don't do it!!! I really need to be strong and Monday and Tuesday are usually easy, but its Wednesday and Thursday that get rough....the scale just moves down so much more when I'm not drinking!!! I wish it was the opposite!

Congrats on the weight loss...seriously amazing!!!
Thanks for the vibes....if I can keep the husband under control then I should be fine. He has me counting his calories too and I don't think he has much left for wine anyway

Grape vine infused I am assuming?

I have had the alcohol infused whipped cream, but they were more like Irish cream flavored and such. We just opened our mouths and squirted it in... Redi-Whip style!

    February already - Ugh

Monday - 4 oz white wine

Agreed!! Wednesday & Thursday's are rough.

Brune, think about the scale moving!!

Kat, you can try to sip on some slimming tea (chinese herbal tea). I just bought some and OMG!! Luckily, I read the label before ingesting. It goes with warnings. AND, I do have to say it works. LOL

The flavors are Hazel, chocolate and original...I am sure that there will be some squirting going on...but, also thinking of double chocolate cupcake, the whip cream, with a cherry on top, of course

i tried that link but I didn't want to give groupon my email again ( just unsubscribed to them recently) but here is another link that has lots of recipes. The raspberry vampire shot sound so yummy! They have recipes for all the flavors though. Enjoy...

"I'll let you know how it goes RJ, and "wolf" Diana.
I am ready!!!" from my previous post last week.

First hypnotic session Monday. I do feel a difference. Sleeping much better. Alcohol consumption is way down, something that we added to the list of things my inner mind needed to let go of. 4 beers Monday, 3 yesterday and I expect MAYBE one tonight. Far cry from 5 shots of tequila w/ dt 7 up or 8 beers or more. I now can sleep w/o self-medicating myself with alcohol. Feeling more alert and positive. Boy, do I need that after the last couple of years. Second session will be next Monday. I am looking forward to it.

Kat, getting a counselor to talk things through is a sign you that you are NOT weak. When I was your age and I did go. The first counselor and I didn't click, but as Ann Landers (boy, am I dating myself!) said, keep trying different ones until one clicks. Luckily I found a very good lady counselor my second try. We talked about family relations and work relations and some about drinking. Those meetings gave me the tools to cope with the very confusing world at that age. (Mind you I had a good job, nice house, everything was going my way.) I still rely on those tools today.
The hypnotic sessions is to get into my subconscious and stop the negative thoughts going around in my head - even though I know how to consciously. Those negative thoughts (what will people think, am I doing good enough etc) have been there since childhood due to my bringing up. Which was not a terrible childhood at all. Anyway, good luck to you as you pursue that avenue. I hope it does help you!

    Cheers! Pam

Amy, loud whistle & cat calls...the avatar is hot, hot, hot :smokin: ...glad you indulged in your very delicious sounding ale

Just got back from the MD, BP is good. Fessed up about the alcohol use and got a mini-lecture how it's 3 times the amount women are supposed to have weekly. He gave me a script for amtriptyline which I am hoping shuts off the brain at night. Might help with comsumption.

    Season, great goal!!

Yvonne, isn't this your month to be alcohol-free?

Wolf, I will check those recipes out....thinking of also making double chocolate cupcakes, the whipped creams and of course, a cherry on top

Pam, super interesting on the session. DO! Keep us posted on the progress...

I've had these thoughts since I was little but my upbringing was pretty tough. I know it's mostly that I can't go anywhere because I don't have a license and I keep on the fiancé about it but he doesn't seem to think it's a priority. I think now he's finally starting to realize that I need it so I can actually have a life. Yes, I love being able to stay home with the pups but 24/7 is a bit much. Being alone so much of the time just gets to a person. We'll see what happens!

I had 3 glasses last night, probably not actual size glasses but I stopped at the 3, felt great and felt completely fine today =] may have some tonight as the fiancé will be late with work and I can watch shows and have some drinks

I think I could definitely go a month or more without drinking but it would seem when you're engaged and there are so many things to get together for during this time, that the booze just flows. I'm going to a bridal show this weekend and there is no way I'm passing up champagne haha, it's my favorite! :drinker:

I am going to still for the most part keep track of calories, I'm not eating as much as MFP tells me because I'm not about to just shove food down my throat when I'm not hungry. When I'm hungry, I eat, I make it something healthy and don't over do it. Seems to be working as the scale is moving down. Think I'm going to log a 2 hour bike ride today to make up for Monday and then I'll take Saturday as my rest day because I won't want to get up super early to work out before the bridal show and after champagne I will not want to come home and work out. So I'll work out Sunday. It will put me over 3500 burnt this week through exercise, so we'll see what the scale says Friday. If I have wine tonight, I think I'll hold off tomorrow so it's not a false dehydration reading, although I have been good with water so far this week.

I love that!!! Great show too :)

So as this day drags on and the argument I had with my boss (also my mom :noway: ) keeps festering inside me, I keep thinking that wine might happen tonight!!! Does it make it any better that I am walking to the liquor store

I have the Triple Leaf super slimming Herbal Tea from the grocery store. Ummmm, all I can say is expect some cramping and detoxing from it...make sure you read the "suggested use"

Robin, your still newlywed'ish...so, you better get your order in!! :smokin:

Got my 2 hours on the bike in. Think I'm going to have a nice salad for dinner and there will definitely be wine tonight

It was near 60 today, HUGE difference from last winter where we had an absurd amount of snow. I'll take it though! Something about the smell in the air and being able to have the windows open has just put me in the best mood today  Probably do my usual of lighting some candles, I'll have some wine and watch my shows with the pups until the fiancé gets home, nice and relaxing

    Hello lovely lushes,

Yes I am doing an alcohol free month, or fun-free february as I've nicknamed it so far, I do seem to have these mad urges every so often.

Had a 'Friday night' feast, last night of pizza and wine, just to make the most of my last night of being able to drink!

    day 1 = 0
