First day of Spring cleanups. Pretty much the same thing as leaf cleanups but more. Digging out beds and bushes hard with blower, plus trimming monkey grasses and maiden grasses, plus removing all downed limbs and twigs, plus a first mow and bag at 3" to rejuvenate winter weathered lawns.
All about 3 weeks early due to unseasonably warm weather.0 -

Client wanted all her old mulch removed and fresh mulch put down. She definitely has a mold problem on the north (front) side of the house. Digging the old out was like chopping through wafer board.
Had to pick up each wheelbarrow of old mulch into the back of the dump-bed. Then shovel 9 yds new mulch back (after some additional bed prep).
Four guys, six hours.1 -
I remember putting in 5 yards of soil amendment and 2 yards of topper into my backyard - that's some hard work right there.1

Spent first 30 minutes replacing a blown heater hose that one of our trucks blew on the way back to the shop yesterday. Then on to odd jobs.
Put down and shaped 2 1/2 yds of topsoil around a client's large front maple which had exposed roots. Added a couple of dozen plantings and then topped the new landscaping with mulch.
Then spread the rest of the 10 yds of mulch across numerous clients.
Lots of shoveling off the trucks, pushing wheelbarrows and down on hands and knees spreading.1 -

Day off but was at shop by 9:30 to let our welder have at my mowing trailer. Been fighting metal fatigue on the side rail risers so rather than me continuing to make a hash out of it, we've hired a certified welder to clean it up and brace it for another season.
I puttered around doing odd maintenance while our welder cursed our mig welder for the piece of *kitten* it is. After four hours we ran out of weld gas so he'll bring his stick welder in on Sunday after lunch and finish the job.
Made me feel a bit better that a certified welder's lines were only slightly better than mine using that POS mig.0 -
