Twelve yards of mulch down and two mows. New personal best for the year on steps.
80F on Thursday, 50s on Friday, and freezing precipitation being called for today. Welcome to the Ozark Mountains.0 -

Wife made cinnamon rolls for breakfast and I knew it was going to be a bad calorie day. Went to see the new Kong movie (good) so lunch was popcorn. Afternoon snack was a couple of pepperoni and swiss cheese sandwiches on croissant rolls. And then for dinner she made a delicious chicken parmigiana tortellini dish with chocolate chip banana bread for desert.
For the day, I ate twice as many calories as I should have.0 -

Another dead lump day. At least i didn't blow my calories... as bad. (Yes, I did still blow them, but only by 500 or so.)0 -

Started day on time but cold and breezy. Temps on the knife edge of dropping below freezing and yards wet from overnight rain mixed with snow. But ground temps still near 50F so we were sent out mowing.
First time I've mowed with slush in the yards. With breeze, windchill down to 24F. Yeah... we called it a day when temps dipped below freezing at 11AM.
Back at (unheated) shop I put a little maintenance time in on my zero-turn. Bad Idler pulley on deck replaced and a broken brake cable swapped out. Home by 2PM.0 -

Too cold to mow. Finally got the chance to light our brush pile which has grown house tall this winter what with topping those four large bradford pears in addition to normal maiden grass and fallen limb cleanups.
After pile burned down (2 hours with snow flurries) changed out oil and filters on all mowers (2 zero-turns, 3 walk-behinds, and 2 push mowers) with help from friend/owner.0 -

Installed an irrigation system for a client. Triple play of Personal Bests. Steps aren't quite up to 20K but full mowing schedule should start next week. Working odd jobs today since we had a day and a half off due to cold weather earlier in the week.1 -

Turned out to be just one odd job. Spring cleanup on new client and then put down 10 yds of mulch... pushing every wheelbarrow up a steep hill. Four guys, three wheelbarrows, six hours. Legs and arms jelly, especially on top of the irrigation install the day before.0 -

Rest day... sort of. Spent time on my left rear wheel drum brake. Ever since replacing the seals, bearings, wheel cylinders, and brake shoes that wheel has been over adjusting causing the brakes to drag and overheat.
Apparently Toyotas only auto-adjust when you pull the e-brake. Also found out that the 'bellcrank', a part of the e-brake, itself needs adjustment. Did all that and didn't get 5 miles down the road before the brakes on that wheel started overheating again. [sigh]
Two choices. 1) Stop using the e-brake. 2) Remove the auto-adjusting lever (which won't effect the function of the e-brake) and just manually adjust the brakes for wear every couple of months.0 -

Line of rain storms rolled through at beginning of day so we drove an hour and a half to a client's lake home to do a 15 minute leaf cleanup (she called requesting it) and then another hour and a half back to the shop for lunch.
Storms had passes through but yards still wet so loaded up 6 bags of fertilizer and dropped it on three different yards, all new clients. We were able to mow a total of two yards at the end of the day.1 -

First week of full mowing schedule with one weather day on Tuesday. Two weather days actually as rains came in Friday afternoon. We worked through the initial sprinkles and then would move to drier territory, trying to stay ahead of the weather.
Next three weeks are predicted to be the wettest for this time of year on record... yay [said weakly]. Looking like only two decent mowing days for all next week.0 -
@d_thomas02 Do you eat up to your TDEE number to maintain weight? I would love to eat more than I currently do, but of course would have to increase my activity to match. Just wondering how it's working for you.0

Currently trying to lose so trying to eat between 500 to 1,000 below my TDEE. When I hit maintenance last time, eating my TDEE didn't work well. This time I plan on eating about 250 calories below my TDEE for maintenance.0 -
Sat 03/25 - TDEE: 2,185 cals, Intake: 2,463 cals, Deficit: -278 , Steps: 2,732 , Active Minutes: 0
So I've added my daily intake and deficit to my TDEE, steps, and active minutes. For this week (Sunday through Saturday) my daily averages were:
TDEE: 3,432 cals, Intake: 2,599 cals, Deficit: 833 , Steps: 16,622 , Active Minutes: 109
Color coding for daily and avgs are:
TDEE: < 2,500, 2,500 =< 3,500, >= 3,500
Intake: < 1,700, >= 1,700
Deficit: < 100, 100 =<= 1,000, > 1,000
Steps: < 10,000, 10,000 =< 20,000, >= 20,000
Active Minutes: < 30, 30 =< 100, >= 100
I put my numbers into a spreadsheet and have it generate the BBCode for the color coding. I then just cut and paste the code into my posts.1 -

Rained-out mid-afternoon. Actually more like drizzled out after 3 hours mowing in "goose-piss". New rule: Call it after 2 hours of "goose-piss". That last hour (one yard) was miserable. Took longer to clean up the mess than it did to make it. We'll be going back to that yard today for a quality check.0 -

Drizzle continued most of night. Was suprised when we were not called for a late start. Still misting on my windshield on way to work.
Mowed two large school/church campuses and then two medium sized yards before calling it a day. Second campus had some areas too wet to mow, slopes and low areas, so will have to return for those today as we finish off the rest of our mows for the week.0 -

We were able to finish the weekly mow schedule today. Still some swampy areas we had to pass up here and there but that's the nature of the job after a rain.
Two more weeks of April showers ahead.0 -

Rest day... sorta. Chores both at home and at work.
Got my personal mower up and running. My son surprised me as I started on my yard. Said I had mowed enough during the week so he would mow our's. [sniff]
Gave me time to run up to the shop and give one of our older mowers some TLC.0 -
