I'm so behind! Life got in the way last week. I must get out for a few long runs this week!0 -
The other day I was out riding, and another road cyclist rode next to me for a long block. We talked and rode at a good pace, then he went his direction and I went mine. It was then that I realized that I ride alone every ride. And it gets pretty lonely riding by your self all the time. The nearest cycling group is at least 30 miles away. So I have to self motivate to ride as much as I do. The MYAC is also a big help in the motivation department, at least if the weather is crappy I can go for a walk and log miles. Thank you MYAC!

Well yesterday was definitely a Monday for me. It started with not clotting after routine bloodwork, so I looked down to see blood dripping off my fingers. Yuck! Then I dropped my phone getting into the van and (yes, this really happened) I ran over it. When I arrived home and could not find my phone, I drove back to the office and found it laying in the parking lot. With a shattered screen. (sigh) I have a pretty substantial case on the phone, so the guy at the store looked at it and said "how did you manage this?" Well you know, you can't really expect a phone case to stand up to a minivan can you?
I do have a shiny new phone now. Which I'm sure I'll enjoy once I figure the darn thing out anyway.
After all that I decided to take a walk (stomp?) I figured that was better than throwing the tantrum that I "deserved". Not a bad way to blow off some steam and add 4.75 miles.

I am SO thankful for my girls bike group. I've made some friends and found a core group with similar abilities. It makes the hard rides so much easier! Even through the winter we do spin classes together.
Good for you staying motivated on your own!
