Just checking in... I haven't done great on my 10k steps per day so far this month. It's been crazy around here, and I ended up taking a trip to my parents' house over the weekend (they live about 6 hours away). Grandma is in the hospital and not doing well. My sister had a baby and he had to be airlifted to the children's hospital, so i ended up watching her young daughter.

I did get in a 6.13 mile run on Saturday. It was very hilly and humid, and I had to walk a couple of times, but I finished it. It took me about 1h 10m total. A little slower than I'd like, but I'll take it. Ended up feeling sick/vomiting for an hour or so afterward. Guess I pushed a little too hard.

I may end up heading back to my parents' house to help with the toddler more later this week, so who knows how the rest of the month will progress. Trying to get more running in, which should help with hitting my step goal.

So far, I have hit my goal of 10,000 steps 5X's per week for both weeks. I have also met my goal of weightlifting 2X's per week. I am participating in weekly work week challenges on Fitbit with friends which is really helpful in getting me to reach my daily goals.

More gardening. I'm finding it very enjoyable to get out in the sun while it's not at inferno level. I've had a couple of sick kids at home with the flu so it's driven me outside more.

1 hour ballroom dancing yesterday and 1 hour gardening, digging up old raspberry canes so quite strenuous.
52 lengths of the pool this morning.
Getting back into the swing of things after having a heavy cold last week. Asthma still playing up a bit, but more manageable.

I hit my 10k step goal yesterday! Hooray! Trying for it again today--we'll see how it goes. It's raining outside, so I may end up on the treadmill tonight. Doing a Power Hour class today over lunch, but that doesn't earn many steps!

Well, Power Hour was cancelled and the rain stopped, so I ran 3 miles on the bridges near my building (total elevation gain was only 150ft, as measured by my fitbit. Thinking that's probably quite a bit low) and then did a 30 minute HIIT class. Already up to 9116 steps, so I'll be making my goal today for sure!

I walked 922 steps yesterday . That was 8 days post spinal surgery. No where near the 10,000 steps that we are supposed to get every day, but I am thrilled. I will get to the 10,000 steps!!

Sidelined with an ankle injury. According to my doctor, I broke my ankle several years ago. At the time, I thought it was just a sprain, so I limped around on it and never went to the doctor. Now I have permanent ligament damage--yay!

Anyway, the ankle pain now flares up every once in a while, usually after taking a step that was ever-so-slightly wrong, and I have to tape and rest it until it improves. The pain definitely started after my Wednesday run and HIIT class, but there was no specific moment of "ouch" in there, so who knows what I did exactly.

Hoping I only have to take it easy for a few days and can get back in the game before month end!
