Barbie - it is a huge decision you're facing regarding taking that medication. I know you will consider all the pros and cons before you decide.

I am getting a haircut later this afternoon from a guy that was recommended to me. He had a cancellation so I took it. He'll be on vacation for two weeks starting Monday. So a little bit nervous since I haven't had anyone other than my friend cut my hair in decades. Fingers crossed.

    Hello All,

Getting ready for supper tonight. We've invited over an old friend. We definitely owe her a supper as she is the type that loves to put on events for her friends. Way more daring than me in that regard. She isn't married and lives alone but that sure doesn't stop her. Last year she put on a birthday party for herself at the club house in the condo she lives in. It was a pot luck and we all contributed. Neat lady. Super tonight is cranberry chicken and it is in the crockpot right now. Hope it turns out okay. I'm having a break right now, but next step w/b cutting up veggies for a salad.

Patsy - oh dear. So stressful when your loved ones have problems. Big hugs.

Lin - glad you were able to post at least. Hope things get straightened out for you.

Sandy - good for you participating in the walk. Good luck.

Shirley - allergies can drive you crazy. Fantastic that you for keep up your exercises.

Phyllis - congratulations on the new baby. Terrific.

Barbie - I know just how you feel. I'm still having feet problems too. I just want to get out there and walk, walk, walk. But if I want to recover I need to take it easy. My goal this week is a lonely 6,000 steps. I admire you for your dedication.

Marie - did I miss your post? Hope you are doing well.

Got to run, work to do. Have a great day everyone.

    Jeri

Super news and congratulations and much luck with your new granddaughter, PHYLLIS! Lovely!
PATSY, being a Mother is not easy! Stay centered, and we all wish you and your daughter the best! My DD reminded me this morning about the difference between the groomer to whom she takes her longhair dachshund and the way I used to trim nails, using a Dremel grinder so the quick would recede and nails could be shorter so toes would not splay! Hers just clips and draws blood and the nails remain ragged! Ouch! She plans to try grooming Darla herself. Anyway. no matter how much we try, we worry about our kids!
SHIRLEY, hope the allergy clears up quickly.
SANDY, you picked up something I completely missed regarding JAKE/JIM!!! So, which is it , BARBIE? Mystery ...lol
BARBIE, my sister had dire consequences from 2 of the osteoporosis medications, and I always refused to take them. Her jaw became porous, and her femur broke! Weight Lifting is tops! Good luck.
LIN, hope ANNE is wrong about losing her internet, and confused about your myriad messages, but happy to read them all! You will be lovely no matter how this new fellow cuts your hair! Have fun!
Gotta run as I have about 6 cards to make before dinner!!!! I simply annot turn on the TV today as I still feel destroyed watching those towers go down! Just writing about it and my throat constricts! May peace return to this earth!

    HI ALL,
I GET TO GO SEE THE BABY TODAY! She is over with her mother since she had the c-section so we don't get to see her daily. But when they move back here I'll get to see her every day, If I want to.
Shirley sorry about the allergies. They can be so annoying. My sisters had hay fever and we lived on a farm and when the hay was getting harvested in the summer those sisters were always sneezing!
Sandy: Sounds like you really got drenched. Rain fall is something we hardly ever ever get over here. If it rains we run out side just to see how it feels.
Barbie: sounds like you are taking it one step at a time. Good plan so that you don't over do.
Patsy: sorry about your DIL and all the stomach and other pains. WOW she is really having a rough go of it. I know it is hard not to give a million and one suggestions. I have to be careful too with this new baby to let her mom be the one that guides her, instead of me saying,,, YOU SHOUld do this or that!!
Lin: how is everything coming along with the house? I feel like I lost track of all your fun while I was away.
Marie: any new diet plans that are working? I need some suggestions. My weight loss seems to be so slow. I know it is good to lose slow as long as I'm losing but my weigh goes up and down and it drives me crazy.
Well better get folding some clothes and finish cleaning up the house.
My husband brought home a whole SHEEP yesterday, ( it was had been killed ) and he cut it all up into pieces. Basically I think he butchered it!!! but anyway I bagged it all up and put it in the freezer and cleaned up the blood from the floor. Even after mopping a couple times the place still stinks! so I have to keep mopping with disinfectant. Luckily he did do the chopping and cutting on the balcony but you know how raw meat is... drip drip drip all over the floor anyway. I think I want to be a vegetarian for sure now!!!!!!

Finally found a way to wiggle into this thread! Crazy!
Jim started having shortness of breath on Wednesday. He would Not go to a doctor or hospital on the road. We got home at 2am this morning and he went home got a shower and I got stuff out of the truck and vacuumed. Now we are in the ER. They are running tests. He's getting a ct scan of his lungs. Will try to catch up on the posts and update you later.
    Phoebe
Update. Jim has blood clots in both lungs. Going to start on meds. More later

What a struggle to get on to our sneakers forum... who knows what's going on! A busy day ahead so although have read posts will wait until tomorrow when it's supposed to rain, to write anything other than to PHOEBE to say thank goodness Jim's clots were picked up and are being treated. He's probably going to have to take things easy until the medication does what it's designed to do so tie him down if you have to! Thinking of you both. <3

Oh Phoebe that sounds quite serious. Give us an update when you can.

Typing a bit in my phone this morning. I pray that my Internet connection stRts working more often one of these days.

Cold here this morning!! 48 degrees. Yikes!!

My haircut is really short but I like it. I doubt I can style it like he did. I will just comb it I guess.

I am still shoving stuff around in my basement. Put together my third shelving unit yesterday afternoon.

The radon mitigation guy is coming Wednesday to drill test holes and then I don't know when the system will be installed but I am sure there will be lots more moving, upset, and dirt to clean up at some point. Oh well. I am glad my basement is unfinished.

I guess I should try to post this.

    Hugs.

Hi everybody, Patsy gave me instructions on how to stop the yards and yards of photos, caption comments, and other people's comments all appearing on here. If I'd posted it would have taken up pages of our community page. I don't think the person who sent me this "circular" I suppose you'd call it, had a clue what she was forwarding on to me! I'm really scared but I think Patsy has put me on the right track. Thank you honey. Now here goes, and pray!

It appears to have worked!! I'm so sorry so many of us, or our loved ones are having such a tough time at the present time, but won't comment individually as I don't want to press MY luck, but wish everyone speedy recoveries and the best of luck.

Every day is my learning day! Problem is I seem to forget what I've learned ;)
PHYLLIS, enjoy that baby so much! The butcher? You have more guts than I!!! Or a stronger stomach!
PHOEBE, keeping my fingers crossed until you have more news about your dear JIM! Hugs!
I wonder why we are all having problems opening this website, Big changes?
JACKIE, I. too, am squeezing in this moment, as we got up late, and I have so much to do before getting ready for a birthday party for a friend turned 80 today. How are YOU healing, luv?
LIN, try using just your fingers to comb your new cut (bet it's adorable!) and I use the heel of my hand very hard ti kind of scruff it up in stubborn areas. I also got a spray to use after shampooing and drying my hair, since it always looks better a few days after, called "Play Dirty", which gives it that fuller look without waiting a day or 2! Want to trade your 48 degrees? I'd love it! Your garage pictures show a super-organized gal to me! WOW!
ANNE, I seem to have missed your problem, but happy you were able to clear it up!

Happy Saturday!! :) Walked almost three miles on the Al Anon walk and then walked to our club house for a hot dog so my Fitbit reads I have done over 10,000 steps so far. Yipee!! We had a beautiful day for the walk it is in the 60's but sunny, so perfect for walking. My team won first place for donations so I got two medals today, one for finishing the walk and the other a first place medal for donations. I plan on going to 5:00 Mass today alone since Babe said he is too dizzy (and cranky) to go.

Buzz, enjoy that birthday party, you seem to have so much fun at your place, in spite of everything. Happy for you.

Lin, love your pictures and I agree with Anne, you have everything in it's place and there is no mess anywhere. Just one question, why do you need two cars?? #justasking

Anne, glad Patsy was able to help you with your email problem. My son's father had a similar problem so he told him to change his email which he did. Yahoo was his problem but now he uses gmail.

Jackie, I don't seem to be having any problems getting on MFP, maybe because I am on my desktop??? Last time they had problems they changed a lot of things, hope that isn't happening again.

Phoebe, that does sound serious with Jim, are the doctors concerned at all? How are you holding up with that kind of news?

Phyllis, glad you got to see the baby today but sure didn't need to hear about that sheep. I do eat meat, I just don't want to see if before it is ready to cook if you know what I mean. I could never own a farm because I would never be able to slaughter any of the animals. That is just me, my friend has a cattle farm and has no problem with it.

Jeri, good to hear from you and you do sound a little more upbeat. I hope you had fun with your friend and had a wonderful evening.

I might try for a short nap before Church unless I get so involved with my computer games.
    Have a great day!

The story of two cars is probably too long to share Sandy. I have never had any backup when one car was in the shop and I had a Jeep once upon a time that LIVED in the shop. Anyway, after I got a divorce I bought a red Miata but kept the Jeep since theconvertible was a seasonal car. I loved it but when my dad started having health problems and I had to drop everything to take him for tests etc. I knew I couldn't rely on my Jeep so I traded in my beloved Miata for a new and reliable SUV. I used that car for all the years I travelled to take care of my dad. Meanwhile there was a cash for clunkers program so I ditched the Jeep and got the very fuel efficient Prius to use around town and to take some mileage load off my SUV. It worked and now I still have two cars. When one of the two wears out I will likely donate it to a local charity and be back to one car. Since I use only the dealerships for service and repairs I hope not having a second vehicle won't be a problem. There have only been a few occasions when it's been a problem. So there is the long story. Aren't you sorry you asked? ha.

    Congrats on your medals.

Happy to see you Buzz. I will try the finger fluff thing. The stylist wants me to get some type of dryer to use in fixing my hair but said if I didn't to use some styling wax and hair spray. I am certain it will never look good except on the days when I get a cut.

    Posting quickly I hope.

Sometimes life just gets busy and we forget to check in with our friends. So I am checking in. We went to a sailing swap
this morning at our club. People from our club bring things related to boating that they want to sell. We didn't see anything
we wanted so we just hung around for a while and chatted and then went home.

I just finished some Yoga at home with one of my dvd's. Our yoga studio was closed all week due to changing and
painting and fixing things up for the next group of lessons. I sure missed it.

We were supposed to see Isaac, our grandson, on Monday but Dave forgot he has a board meeting to attend so we
changed it to Thursday and Friday. I can't wait to see him again.

Rainy here and cold, the temps sure have dropped into the 60's. I am rather enjoying it. Now doing some ironing.
We are having company next weekend so I think I will change the sheets on the bed.

    Enjoy the day!

Wow Lin, Your storage looks great. I don't think my brain even thinks like that...to organize and put things in plastic containers. We seem to do the "mound and pile" kind of storage. When John can't find something, after looking at a mound or pile of things, he stomps out of the garage yelling..."I'll be back in about an hour, I need to run to the hardware store!" And off he goes. The mound and pile remain undisturbed in a dusty garage. And we now have another of whatever he was searching for. My art dungeon defies description. There is no possible way to clean or organize this mess. I do a monthly (or so) shoveling out. Things are not examined for wear. I make a decision at the outset...whatever I touch first goes into the trash. Boom! Done!

Wonderful day today. Went out with dd, 2 boys and her husband today. We went to heritage park, went on rides, had lunch, looked a lot of things. It is a reconstructed turn of the century town, farm, etc. so much fun. Exhausted, sore foot but happy. Of course the rum and coke as we sit on our patio helps too. LOL Jeri

Lin - Your garage looks so clean and tidy. I am trying to get Dave to the same with his tools but no luck. Ours is pretty
tidy but the floor has to be redone. Another Fall project for Dave and added to the list.

Anne - I hope you get your computer problems solved. You think MFP is trying to tell us something. Pay or else. :p

Phoebe- I hope Jim gets his clots dissolved. Please keep us informed.
