where did my post fly? Darn, I was about to log off and the site simply disappeared. I can't redo it now so perhaps I'll be less sleepy tomorrow. Sorry, ANNE, about your pending loss. Warm hugs, dear! Everybody , back manana, and JERI, hope you heal fast!

Buzz - Thank you for your kind words. My thoughts are one does and deals with what you have to or curl up and let life pass you by. I prefer to not just exist but live life as best I can. Granted I get frustrated at times, but deal as I must.
I feel you are amazing dealing with all the changes in your life over the past yr. Or two. Dealing with compression boots and leg wraps can be very tiring and you do remarkably well with them.

Jackie – I am so jealous of your being able to work in your garden already! It snowed a 'dusting' last night and everything is still white. It is snowing/sleeting today. Things get wet during the days then freezes overnights, so still to cold to get out in the garden. We usually get frosts right through till end of May. I am babying some starts in my Bay window. I should follow your '3 tasks/day' idea.

Anne – Sorry to hear about your SIL, prayers for you and her family. Just because your Ex and you split does not mean you have split with the family.

Lin – I hope your 'new' couple showed up. It is always nice to make new friends and hear about different life styles and places.

Sandy – Looking forward to pics of your finished bunnies! Getting April up dates was a good idea. I am positive there are many people in your life with many good memories. Yes, if you use hot glue they should last well (until the little ones pull them one too many times – ha haha).

Jeri - Remember to take time to care for yourself. Candida can flourish when you are run down or exhausted.

Well another busy day. It snowed lightly mixed with sleet today and was cold. I took forms to accountant, picked up other necessary transcripts from IRS to try straighten out where the Life Ins. Company has confused me with my deceased mother (I have her middle name for my First and have retained my maiden name), sending me dividends and tax forms with Mom's SS#. All should have gone to my sister as she was Mom's POA and Executor to her estate. Also went to Soc Sec. Office for transcript just to find they close at noon on Wednesdays! Both IRS and SS offices are in the Federal building which is large, a LOT of walking! Went browsing for TV stand for the new 55”TV (up graded so will not have to strain to see writing on TV). Looked at and dreamed of new couch as well, so more walking without walker today!
On the way home stopped and picked up fresh veggies for the next few days (more walking!) When I arrived home was pleasantly surprised to find 'the little man' (grandson) was here after school (supposedly his Mom's day not Dad's) and since Dad works tonight I get the little man to myself! B) Lucky he loves healthy foods and helps Nannie fix supper. We had roasted Atlantic Salmon with roasted veggies ( brussel sprouts, zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes with onions) YUM!
Redid labs again and had an ultrasound as Mammogram F/U (follow-up). During supper my DR. called stating I needed more labs and another in depth ultrasound and a F/U visit with him within a week. :# ….
I am tired and hopefully will sleep well as I have another busy day planned tomorrow.
Goodnight everyone, sleep well/ have a great day, depending on where you are.

I woke up to find a rain alert for my area on the iPad. MORE rain!!
No change in Paulines condition, but she's been taken off the life support. 3% brain activity. You are right MAE one doesn't divorce ones exes family. He left me for someone else but his family didn't. I was very fond of my mother in law as well as the sisters but sadly she died soon after our parting. Emigrating 3 years earlier hadn't helped and I couldn't get myself and the children back "home" because of lack of funds, but bless them the girls have always remained family. Pauline was, and is, the one I am particularly fond of, us being the youngest. I am an "only child" so she became a sister I yearned for. I rang my ex yesterday and he will keep me posted. Time heals all. Meanwhile, thank you everyone.

Back to the rain alert. Flooding? I live on a gentle slope down to the lake so should be alright.

We doggy walkers did two rounds in the woods this morning because Scruff and her mum had already walked from home about a mile. I drove them home after our stroll and met at least 4 vehicles on the narrow lanes driving round corners in the middle and nearly hitting us!! We tend to think it's visitors that don't know how to deal with our lanes but more and more I see local drivers behaving like idiots. Of course I did the reversing into passing places each time because they didn't seem able to find their reverse gear!! When at the allotment at the weekend we dug all our leeks out of the ground so I'm planning to make soup with mine today just adding carrots and a potato. If I had some blue cheese I would add some in but at the moment it's banned from my fridge as naughty food! After popping in to see my neighbour I will be out in the garden again this afternoon.

Anne ~ That's so sad about your SIL and I'm very sorry especially as I'm assuming she is in England so no chance of you visiting her. Hopefully she is comfortable and at peace which is all any of us can ask for in such circumstances.

Mae ~ Three tasks were achieved but not the planned ones, not that it matters because there are probably at least 100 needing my attention in no particular order! Even my bees were busy buzzing in the sunshine so I didn't feel the need to inspect their hive yet but will wait until the temperature rises just a few degrees more. We rarely have cold winters now and once Spring is upon us there is much to be cut back because so many shrubs have continued to grow from October to March.... can't have it all my way! It seems your doctors are keeping a good eye on you and I do hope the added ultrasound is no more than them being thorough.

Sandy ~ About 15 years ago a friend knitted me a flying seagull that hangs in my little porch area and after a while his wings began to flop so I sprayed with starch generally used for men's shirt collars and he's been flying with open wings ever since! Of course if your bunny ears are going to end up in a child's mouth it's not such a good idea.

Jeri ~ Mae has got it in one, you need to seriously take care of yourself and your immune system although I know that's not easy with such a large family.

Lin ~ One good thing about the internet is that we can travel anywhere in the world and never take our bottoms off a chair. This week I watched a BBC documentary about an amazing hotel in the rain forest of Ecuador whose owner is doing his best to save the last few trees left after loggers have destroyed so much and he employs ex loggers to work in and around his stunning hotel. Well worth a watch if you get the chance, it's called Amazing hotels, life beyond the lobby.

Oops, time to go to my neighbour. Have a good day everyone.

After thought. If this rain continues I am thinking of going into the garage to inspect Marks leftover carpentry projects wood. With Planks nailed together maybe I could fashion a decent raft? Jilly towed behind in a bucket and a sheet flapping in the wind we might make it to higher ground should the need arise.
    Think positive,
    Anne.

Anne – Again, continued prayers for you and your dear SIL. Hope you do not 'slip slide away'! The rain puts a damper on things :( . Your humor is delightful! I can just picture your raft towing Jilly. :o
Just saw SIL passed, I am sorry for your loss.
Jackie – The soup sounds delicious. Happy bees are good for the garden! Your weather must be warmer than here in Maine USA even though I believe we are more south than you are. My ground is still frozen and will get frosts through the end of May. I wish we had a longer growing season.
Lin – send some sunshine and warmer temps. This way please.
Sandy- Enjoy your celebration and good time with friends.
Marie – Glad you got 'your' nurse back.

Well 2 days of being out and about wore on me. When I got up this early AM for bladder call I was a bit unsteady so took v/s was 92/64 with Apical pulse of 48.....oh well . Stayed in bed most of day and did phone and paper work, so I was busy accomplishing tasks. Set up appointments for 4 different guys to come look and give me estimates on fixing the crack in my foundation and possible need for a French Drain. Called (again) on medical bills that should have been covered; need to have “coded” differently. I called and left message for the billing dept. of Dr.'s office and The Dr. called me back himself. I told him they were all coded as “established patient visit” and Medicare does not cover this and when I spoke with his billing they stated that it could not be changed. The Dr. told me that was an error and he had written problems addressed (asthma/ migraines/blood clots/dysautonomia) to be coded that billing was wrong and he personally would F/U on this.
Added smoked turkey and cheese slice to salad left over from other night for supper, but did have candy that called my name. :p
Currently sleeting out with cold wind.
    Snuggling for the night.

Just woke up, having fallen asleep (I won't tell you where, lol :o ), and realized I haven't been online yet today. So I turned on the TV before opening my computer, to discover we have just attacked Syria. A nice thought to fall asleep to! I'm so sorry, but I didn't get to bed until almost 6 this morning, and I just cannot remain awake. Mike used to shout to come to bed, but now I just get immersed and lose all sense of time! ANNE, of course we don't get divorced by in-laws and I am truly sorry for your "sister's" plight. Is she in hospice?...I really want to be in bed before midnight, so I send my love to each of you and the weekend might be better; although I have tickets for a "Big Band" concert!

Oh dear, just weighed in and after a week of no pasta, no rice, no bread except one crumpet and no potatoes I've gained 3 pounds.... would you credit it? Nothing fattening in green salads and fish so assume it's just a blip and am now drinking water for England! A lovely walk in warm sunshine this morning and I was planning to clear up the cuttings I created yesterday but at the moment neighbours on both sides of me are using petrol strimmers that sound more like angry bees so I'm back inside until they finish.

Anne ~ That's so sad about your Pauline but maybe a happy release after her sudden illness. Brave children but then we are all so much more aware today of the great achievements being made from such donations. Thinking of you and your boys that have lost an auntie.

Lin ~ Enjoy that sunshine. It makes us all feel so much better doesn't it. B)

Mae ~ Today it's about 15c which is around 60f so just perfect to potter in without getting too hot. The birds are singing, at least they were before the petrol heads started :/ and I'm finally going to switch off the heaters in the cottage for the summer. I do hope you are feeling more steady today and can get moving again although bed must be the best place when your readings are all over the place.

Buzz ~ Have you caught up with the lack of sleep... I do hope so? It was inevitable your President would have to back up his threats, he's that sort of man so we can only hope things don't escalate.

Sandy ~ Happy birthday yet again!! :D I hope you enjoyed your meal out. My walking buddy has a birthday today so a group of us are off to a pub this evening to celebrate. Don't think I'll be getting on the scales tomorrow!!

My windows are open and the buzzing of the crazy strimmers is getting louder so I'm going to go into my kitchen on the other side of the cottage after turning up the volume on my radio and find a chore out there in the hopes they don't take too long.

Jackie, enjoy the birthday celebration. Time with friends is precious. But do stay away from the scales. Argh.

Marie, glad you got your nurse back. I hope you enjoy your busy weekend.

Sandy, did you enjoy the extra birthday? How long until your trip to Florida?

Mae, the sun is out but it hasn't been very warm. It is below freezing this morning but the wind is shifting and warmer temps are forecast. I have my lawn waste bags out and am ready to do some cleaning up on my lot. I hope you get some sunshine and warmth in your locality!! And I hope you are much improved this morning.

Buzz, you do set your own hours!! I will not ask where you fell asleep. I just hope that you are getting enough rest overall.

Anne, I hope little Jilly helps to lift your spirits. Anyone visiting you today?

Time to run along again. Wishing everyone well.

    Hugs.

Well, we've got a dusting of snow here! That's on top of the rain we had. No gardening in this household yet!

BUZZ, I'm going to put my foot in it. Did you fall asleep whilst perched on the toilet seat? That's been done before I'm sure! Or over your bowl of soup in the dining room? My imagination is running wild, please put us out of our misery. You're not alone either in keeping unconventional hours for sleeping. You are exactly like my cousin Val who went to bed just as the rest of us was crawling out of ours. This didn't seem to affect her at all. She still managed 8 hours per day, despite garbage trucks rumbling past, police sirens, etc.

I haven't got on the scales yet JACKIE and fear the worst on Monday. You had a lot of stress from narrow roads and uncouth locals this past week, and I hate to jog your memory but didn't you have a couple of Danish pastries from all this stress? Quite understandable if you did! LOL. Forgive me if I'm wrong, the memory isn't what it used to be! I could be talking about a couple of weeks back! I have to admit though that I eat when I'm under stress and that's easy in today's world with the boys happily tossing their missiles around and flying their war planes! Alas, boys will be boys!

Well, at least Jilly Bean will be a happy girl today. Her very favourite person is coming over. I tend to join Michael in overeating when he's around! He's a big lad and I can hardly offer him a lettuce leaf!
Everyone, I hope today is enjoyable,
With love, please take any comments tongue in cheek,
    Anne❤❤❤❤❤❤

Happy Friday! :) My birthday celebration was wonderful! But because I didn't ride the bike my scale showed a gain so I am changing our weigh in day to Monday this week. B) I am going to sit with the boys tonight since I haven't seen them since last Friday. Nothing exciting planned for the weekend.

Anne, I am so sorry about Pauline, death of a loved one is always so sad. Have fun with Michael today and eat, drink and be merry.

Lin, I did indeed enjoy my birthday celebration, good food, good drinks and good friends.

Jackie, forget about weighing in until Monday, I also gained and need some time to get rid of additional weight. lol Have fun at the birthday celebration and don't think of the scales. By the way, what is petrol strimmers? Is it a lawnmower?

Buzz, inquiring minds, okay maybe just Anne and I, want to know this interesting place you fell asleep. I do hope you got some sleep and for heavens sake set an alarm to remind you to go to bed.

Mae, if your body wants rest then please rest. You did a lot in two days so I hope you took some time to heal.

Marie, glad you got your nurse back and that you are happy.

Still no baby giraffe. Have a great day!!

Well, for the seriously curious, I did not fall asleep in the dining room (not that I couldn't, lol!) and it was not a seat I would care to have been found on! And I could not figure out how long I had been sleeping in that (bleep-bleep) place!!! Embarrassing, though! I got to bed at an earlier hour last night (1 AM ???) and wakened at around 7, but at least in time to use my compression boots today! Which brings me to comment to
JACKIE ! I, too, had a 3 pound gain over the weekend, and without time spent in my compression boots, I swear my puffy legs were holding all 3 of those pounds! So yours, too, may be salt holding water??? This morning, after emptying my bladder, those 3 pounds still clung on my scale, so I shrugged and got into my boots, turned on the power, and must have fallen asleep because I had an hour and a half of heavenly "massage" pushing water and edema up and out of my legs! Weighing after my shower, I lost almost 3 pounds today! I will be careful about sodium, which is difficult since I'm not the cook, and try to drink more than I do, and not be tempted by yummy muffins, and---it ain't easy, is it? By the way, some fish contain more sodium than others :/ .
LIN, the first 2 bummers were enough! Hope you don't have any more problems and those 2 get fixed promptly! Why do bad things happen to good people?
ANNE, have I mentioned I'm so pleased your withdrawal from us was short-lived? What would we do without your delightful posts? Anyway, if you can keep a secret, yes, you guessed, and now let's forget I ever mentioned it! I must admit I'm both fearing and somewhat glad that the great tweet-master attempted to do something about the use of chemical poisons on those Syrian victims. Problem is what will he do next, and just how unstable and rash is he? And will anything really be accomplished? Especially after seeing "Hacksaw Ridge" , the thought of war is so repugnant! The thought of dictators is also repugnant :s .....where do we go from here???
SANDY, I know it's a little early, but your birthday dinner was, too, and lately my internet has been unreliable so I'll start the congrats for your special day!
    k21axryflqfa.jpg
and many, many more! Perhaps the baby giraffe is waiting for your birthday ;) ...PS, read ANNE's answer from me , and see if she'll share the secret!!!
MAE, have you ever tried a 2-day sleep-a-thon?

Dear BUZZ, your secret is safe with me!!!!
What a lovely name. "Great Tweet Master! I can see a very large bird with a golden crest and a somewhat small beak! Although I don't particularly like boys hurling missiles at other boys, I have a feeling THAT particular action was a bit of posturing. "Hey North Korea and China, look what I can do" sort of thing. I do wish these world leaders would stick to a cardboard game of "Risk".

Sincerely hope you had no more mishaps LIN!

Could it be a "false pregnancy" SANDY?

We had roast chicken, baked buttery potatoes, peas and brocolli for lunch. I think I will be in the naughty chair on Monday, however I will endeavour to deprive myself for the next two days.
    Ever hopeful,
    Anne.

Evening everyone. Just a quick note tonite. Today was gorgeous out. I was in short sleeves til mid afternoon when the cool winds kicked up and I put on a light weight jacket. Went out and purchased a TV stand to fit the new flat screen TV. Chris (son) went to work early so he took the car as soon as I got home.
A friend came by and took me to get some "dirt" and planting basics then I came home, mixed some soil up and planted some 'starts' ...buttercup, delicata, and blue hubbard squash, a few cukes, and pie pumpkins. My zucchini and summer squash starts (started in mid March) are looking good, but the Romas and celery are spindly . Walked up the hill about 800 - 900 ft. and back down!
Just finished supper, roasted steelhead trout with leftover roasted brussel sprouts and zucchini, love my seafood/fish and fresh veggies!
Have a busy weekend planned. Will go to bed early tonite to get extra rest. Have a good night all.

Is my face red! I think I saw the 10th and forgot it's now April! Actually, I got confused because there's been talk of birthdays and I didn't want to miss any! I think my lack of sleep may be to blame, so I'll get some right now! Glad I returned before logging off, as the few posts were delightful, and I leave with a smile o:) ...

I was beginning to think with all the rain and snow floating around that I was in the wrong month and it actually WAS still March myself BUZZ. However, a quick peek into the calendar and the birthday list had me back on the right track, which had me again wondering if our SANDY had joined the British monarchy by having a real birthday and an official birthday. I was just thinking what a wonderful idea, two slices of cake, extra pressies etc when alas, she put us all on the correct path and her birthday IS a past birthday. So what, A VERY HAPPY UNBIRTHDAY SANDY TO YOU!
We were told by the weatherman last night that it's finally going to feel like April this weekend. Of course I will take that with a grain of salt and remember the old wise saying:
"Never cast a clout until May is out". For those of us not into old English a clout being clothes, I.e. Ones long johns and not the other old English "clout" which means a clip around the ear. All very complicated at 6am!
    I'm off,
    Anne.

A gorgeous, gorgeous day with wall to wall sunshine and a gentle breeze. Our walk followed the path of the recent video so you know exactly where I've been and after a mug of coffee in the garden and now an early lunch I'm going to get on with my gardening.

Anne ~ That saying is so true, especially in the UK where silly people are already purchasing bedding plants even though we had a frost last night! Agree with your boys and toys analogy although in this instance I was hoping he might lob something into the lap of the man that's causing so much despair! No my dear, not a Danish pastry in sight for a couple of weeks although you've now put the idea into my head!!

Mae ~ Now here's the thing, when we get to what we are growing in the way of veggies we will probably need an interpreter since you do have different names to mine.... celery I do know!!! Well wasn't that day of rest worthwhile because it seems you were full of the joys of Spring in your garden and raring to get everything up and growing.... great news.

Buzz ~ I thought it was me getting very confused about Sandy's birthday and wondering how I lost a year so yes, please do get more sleep if you can! ;) You could be right about retaining sodium because the tinned mackerel was quite salty and darn, I had fish and chips last night that definitely tasted of the pesky stuff followed by Key Lime pie full of sugar so of course I've gone nowhere near my scales this morning. My birthday girl friend had the same and has gained 2 lbs overnight.... yikes!!

Lin ~ How are you and your plugged loo and dead car? What a nightmare so I do hope you've got everything back to normal. <3

Sandy ~ Thanks for the reprieve on weighing in until Monday; now I'll have to be good! :p

Must get on, the sun is calling me outside.

Gorgeous JACKIE. Dear little flowers they are for braving whatever April throws at them! I apologize for falsely accusing you of mopping up Danish pastries! Put it down to me still being in March in my psyche! I guess you and I will be steering well clear of such delights BEFORE Monday weigh in, but come Tuesday, ah a different story.
We've just got back from walkies, Jilly Bean and I. My back lawn was ripped up last night by the raccoons looking for succulent wintering bugs. Spring IS in the air. The tulips are about 3 inches high and Joyce next door is out walking enormous Rheilly. Him of the big paws, but sweet, on the whole, disposition.
Jill's home made dog treats are in the garbage can after a recall on the flour. Back to organic flour. Ecoli bacteria and 28 people ill across the country. Our batch had the right date, and we seem to be okay, but you can't be too careful.
    Anne.

Good morning - a busy and on edge day for me yesterday!

Happily the toilet is working again!!

I learned how to hook up my hybrid to a battery charger by following the instructions in the owner's manual. I was quaking in my boots all day long, worried I would somehow damage the super expensive battery system of the vehicle as I tried to get the little separate 12 volt charged. Of course the Internet and manuals are full of warnings of dire consequences. The battery is in the trunk but the recommended positive/negative attachments are in the front engine compartment. I will skip all the details and skinned knuckles. I got it charging and finally was able to start it but it was too late to go to the dealership and they had told me they could not replace the battery until Saturday as they were too busy. So I didn't know if I could leave the charger on safely overnight without damage to something.

A friend on the Internet had her husband talk to me and although at that point I didn't require assistance on hooking up thto charger he finally told me he had left a trickle charger on their Prius overnight. That was what I needed to hear. Yippee. Unhooked everything this morning and got the compartment lid replaced on the fuses etc. and I made it to the dealership.

Bonus, they will also service the vehicle while as am here so will save a trip I planned to make in a couple of weeks. Now I am relieved and just waiting the few hours until we have to fire up my credit card.

Did I mention I spent an afternoon chatting online with Medicare? I received an email that my email had been deleted as a contact for updates/information. So I logged into my account, checked things it and the email was still there. A rep checked and checked on things and all is well with my account AND the entire domain name is legitimate. Nothing seems compromised though. Who knows.

I will count that as the third thing and say well and done.

Mae and Jackie, I think you will be able to veggie speak. :D

Mae, you accomplished so much. How do you muster so much energy? I am amazed that with your health issues you still do circles around me. Good for you.

Jackie, oh my goodness, what a lovely photo. Ahhhhh. Very soothing. Thank you. We have warmer temps and sunny skies today. A bit of wind but that is normal here. In between things I cleaned out the dead materials from around my plants and picked up sticks in the yard. Now to decide if I should trim my little evergreen bushes in front of the house. The shape isn't too bad on any of them. Maybe not.

Anne, raccoons ripping up the lawn? Horrid!! I have a rabbit digging and burrowing in my backyard again this year. I think there will be another bunny nest this year. Gosh they really muck up the lawn though. Is that normal bunny behavior?

Sandy, you are allowed as many birthdays per year as you would like. I personally am fine with one but the queen doesn't seem to mind an extra does she. How were the boys?

Must try to post this. Best wishes everyone.

    Hugs.

    Lin

P.S. Buzz, sleep wherever. Fine with me.
