I posted this on my feed just now, but felt compelled to share it here, too. I can't find the words to express the feeling I am having this morning. Thrilled, excited, happy? None of those are it. It's deeper than that... my heart feels so full, like I I've finally come home. Like I could weep tears of relief and joy. For the first time in years, I feel like I'm back in my body.

I found my favourite shirt, the one that's been hiding in the drawer for years because I refused to stretch it out when it didn't fit. This shirt represents a very magical time in my life, a time when I was adventurously soul searching, deciding who I was in the world. I wore this shirt the night I met my now-partner, I wore it frolicking through orchards, on road trips, and to interview for my dream job. It is so infused with magic. It reminds me of youthful innocence... naïvety, a time when bad things couldn't happen to me... before several of my loved ones died.

Today I put it on, and it fits. Not "just barely" either - it fits properly. I feel an overwhelm of emotions about it. Satisfied, happy, proud, also sad for what happened in my life in the years since I last wore this shirt. It helped me see that the weight I put on was so deeply linked with grief, and only now am I healed enough emotionally to deal with healing physically. So again, I feel happy, proud, but also somewhat wistful and teary.

I'm excited to be back in my body, and to feel my heart so healed. It was a hard few years for me. I'm so grateful to have found this way of fuelling my body - it has brought me back to life.

Thanks for letting me share... I know as far as NSV's go, I could have simply wrote "My favourite old shirt fits, yay!!" But, it felt like so much more than just that - there were so many emotions that came out when that old shirt fit... it feels really good.

Last night my husband mentioned that my arms are getting bigger...and I didn't even have to prompt him for the compliment!!!

This morning I did my last run of the year, and crossed off one of my 2018 fitness goals!

I ran a full 5k, nonstop, no breaks, no slowing down to walk. I also beat my previous best time by a minute or so. I did the whole 5k in 38 minutes.

Finally cutting all my hair off into a pixie cut and not feeling like Mr Potato head!! Best thing ive ever done

Saturday, at the age of 63, I competed in my first powerlifting competition. I made all 9 lifts and had personal records for all three lifts for my current body weight. Not only did Squat 52.5 kilos (115.74 pounds), Bench Press 37.5 kilos (82.67 pounds), and Deadlift 92.5 kilos (20pounds), but while they were work, they weren't hard. Then, that evening I went to a Christmas party and stayed Keto!
