"That Sugar Film" is truly something we should all watch. Highly recommended. Thanks for mentioning it!0

She isn't nearly as bad as before. Of course, she is much more carb heave as a vegetarian, but bread is no longer in the house except rare occasions and she only eats pasta 2-3 times a month instead of 5-6 times a week. Cereal is gone from the house as well. I would say I have her to about 60-70% primal vegetarian now. The fact that she will eat eggs, HWC and cheese helps. I am just glad that the number of packaged "foods" in our house continues to decline.3 -

That is a good film and there is a Netflix documentary called "The Magic Pill". They work with several kids in this one, that have ADD and epilepsy issues. The changes are amazing. There are older folks too but the kids part had me in tears.1 -
High five, @cstehansen! Less packaged food in the house is a huge win!

For me, being down three pants sizes is a big win. It took some time and hard work but is totally worth it. I got my husband on keto in October as he’s struggled with weight for years and has had a chronic fistula from cancer treatment for almost 8 years. He saw his specialist recently and was told the new way of eating is definitely working on healing his wound. Here’s to hoping our new lifestyle resolves this long term issue!8

This week I had to use our laptop and the desk was too busy to put it there so... I put it on my lap. We actually have a lap now! lol.
No more balancing laptops or tablets or cats awkwardly on a huge belly. I don't know when this happened but I just noticed it this week. lol.16 -

Congrats to your hubby. And you!0 -
Yesterday was not amazing. lol I binged, which I haven't done in a long...LONG time. Which i suppose is actually a good thing. Silver lining and all that. Anyway, today my NSV is minor and rather routine but i'm starting there. Today i stuck to my 16 hr IF and got up and ran my 3 miles before heading into work.11

I did have a "SV" this week, but a big NSV this week was putting on some spring work pants that were snug last year, and realizing I PROBABLY should NOT wear them to work because I could pull them off without unzipping them!!!
LCHF is the first "diet" I have ever done where I'm losing inches even in the months that I'm not losing much weight. It's pretty cool!10 -
Hosted a bridal shower today and avoided pasta salad, rolls, potato chips, fruit, chocolates and the cake. Just had lunch meat with cheese, pickles and olives.10

Lately I've been noticing I can comfortably walk much longer and much faster than a few weeks/months ago. I also can walk quickly uphill without getting winded. It's awesome12

What a nice feeling! It's one thing to watch the scale drop or to watch your clothes get baggy, sure.. those can be motivators... but when your body can start doing all of the things you're asking it to do, it's just total bliss! It's like you're setting yourself free to do all of the things you didn't feel like doing before because it felt crappy to do them. Enjoy!!!!!7 -
My favorite thing is to be able to bend over while sitting to tie my shoe laces.12

I lost most of my weight doing a higher carb LCHF diet (around 50 carbs/day) but the last 10 to 15 pounds wouldn't come off until I switched to keto/lower carbs. I've been keto for 19 months and this past January I started weight training. Put on a pound or two but no big deal since that often happens with weight lifting. After a couple of months I dropped a pound. That's how maintenance goes, but imagine my surprise when I took measurements again a month or so ago and found that, even though I've been a basically steady maintenance weight, I'd lost TWO INCHES from my hips and waist. Two whole inches while the scale didn't do anything. Woohoo! Even in maintenance, LCHF keeps on rockin' So please, especially any newbies here, don't just go by the scale.

I just started and haven't completely gotten off all the old foods so am not quite at a place of seeing any results, but I don't feel hungry like I used to. That's huge for me!9
-
A big NSV for me today... I bought 3 new pieces of clothing and they are all size medium. This is huge for me, since this time last year most my clothes were 1XL & 2XL!!22
-
That’s awesome Roxy!! You have done amazing this past year!2
-
That is such an amazing thing!!!!!
Way to go. Medium WoW!!4 -
I just ran my second 5K today! Something I couldn’t even imagine doing 50 lbs heavier15
-
Great job @0426Jamie ! I hope to run one someday.1

My NSV is that today when at a restaurant today, I ordered a dish that didnt taste good......and I didnt eat it. I am making better choices with my meal selections. Yeah!13
-
- I can now watch people eating breads and cakes and instead of thinking "Oh, I wish", the only thought that I have is "yuck"
- I have stuck to this diet through one of the toughest times of my life without feeling like I'm denying myself.
- Even when I'm not losing weight (I have medical issues that make weight loss very difficult, so I have to accept that sometimes I'll be doing everything right and my body just won't let me lose), I don't panic and spiral. I just go "It'll happen. Maybe not this week, maybe not next, but it'll happen. Just stick to it"
- I feel better. I sleep better.
- I no longer need a 'nanna nap' when I get home in the evening.
- I rarely bloat anymore

NSV = When you have dinner with a friend and she notices you have lost weight and asks how. Then she proceeds to research for herself and now you have one more person to swap recipes with.8

@Rainqueen77. That happened to me today! I put items in my cart thinking "It might fit but I'm not going to get discouraged if it doesn't" Everything fit! Cute name brand clothes, not the drab-old person clothing I have been wearing.
It was hard deciding if I should put any back!9 -
My husband and I went through our closets to donate clothes that don't fit anymore. We donated FIVE GARBAGE BAGS worth of clothing!! It was crazy to see it all, and nice to know we won't ever need them again14

I love this! You must feel great3 -
Love reading your successes. I swapped out seasonal clothing today and wondered if I dared throw out the fall/winter stuff that I hope will not fit. Anybody else taken that leap of faith?3
-
Just a thought, @cici52.... I'd keep them until late Aug or Sept (depending on your climate) and then donate them - many places won't take out of season clothing, and it will be more helpful to heavier gals needing a fall/winter update. I'd box them up so you can't see them and then just donate at the appropriate time.
And, get thee a new wardrobe!

My NSV today is starting to keto once again. I've been cheating too much lately. So I threw away the carbs that tempt me and went for a 6 km walk/jog to burn up the glucose.
Thanks everyone on here with NSVs. It really helps to see others who have it harder can do it, and my goals are in my reach. Execution is all I'm lacking. I'm motivated now!4
