Trying to Concieve

Interesting... it would seem that according to my temperature chart this past month, my luteal phase is only 12 days.0
-
@VeryKatie Was it longer before? 12 days is ok though, right? I think mine was 10-12.0
-
@Alioth it's supposed to be 14 days minimum or else it's hard to get pregnant, maybe impossible. It was 14 days at minimum before I had Keith. But you make me feel more optimistic! Imolatation takes 6 to 12 days so it would stink to get my period before it implanted.0
-
@VeryKatie Definitely not impossible, or I wouldn't be here now. Haha. I did try to lengthen it though with progesterone cream, and used mustard oil to give spermies super speed. But who knows if either actually did anything? But yeah, as far as I know, I never had a 14 day luteal phase. 12 was my max, and rare at that. Hitting day 14 was the biggest sign I was preggers. So don't be too discouraged.1

@VeryKatie 14 days is average! 10 days is minimum. You're good! https://www.verywellfamily.com/luteal-phase-19600860
-
Sorry I meant 10-14 days is average, so you're good at 12 days. It also might lengthen as you begin to regulate again. My LP wasn't getting to 10 days for a long time after BC and starting in January finally is 13 days.0

YES! I'm sooo happy about it. It was completely random but it felt like a whole new lease on TTC!0

I bought a home OP kit last week (the digital Clear Blue one) just to see how out of sync I was from my Ovia app and seeing as this is my first cycle of BCP. I was extremely relived to see that the predictions all matched up, give or a take a day, and today I actually tested as being in peak ovulation. I know there's still things that could go wrong, and maybe I'm being a bit naive, but I did get some comfort in seeing that smiley face on the stick, lol.0
-
@girlalmighty08 That's fantastic! The OPKs really helped me and Josh. I think it's pretty normal for BBT and OPKs to be off a day from each other since they are only accurate for a 24-36 hour window. Good luck!0
-
I'm using OPKs this time around too. We are going to start trying next month. We had an oopsie at ovulation time this month though lol so who knows. My BBT is weird though. It's not spiking... it is increasing slowly (signs of a luteal phase defect). So I wouldn't be surprised if my body isn't quite ready yet for a pregnancy. I'll try to go with the flow even though I want to get out of work asap lol. It's hard to go with the flow though lol.0

The TWW is still annoying. Especially the last few days when you're just wondering if and when your period will come. I dislike irregular cycles. We somehow decided to try one month earlier than we were planning.0
-
@VeryKatie I can't believe it's already come to you trying for your second child, time sure does fly! Fingers crossed for you!0

Need to share my frustrations! (I'm more of a reader than a writer )
My period is around 4 days late, but the two tests I did two days ago gave me a very definitive Not Pregnant. According to what I read they are very accurate, so I just want my period to start ASAP so the small possibility of them being wrong can stop messing with my head.
I'll do another test tomorrow morning.
For those that have missed period before, how long do they take to return? Can I expect it back normal time next month or is it a wait and see?
PS. None of the typical reasons for missing a period seem to apply, no stress, sudden weight loss (I wish), hectic exercise etc.

@gingermary82 Gah. That sounds really frustrating. Are you having any PMS? I'd try testing again just in case. Maybe use cheapie tests instead of the fancy ones since it's iffy. Hope you get good news or AF soon!1
-
Update from my side:
Did a qualitative hCG blood test this morning after getting some very faint positives on home pregnancy test, blood test results came back as "equivocal". So still no conclusive results for me
I'll go back on Monday to do another blood test if nothing changes by then.

What symptoms did you notice up until the time you took a HPT, if any? I'm in the TWW right now and I'm driving myself crazy looking for even the slightest symptom0
-
@gingermary82 any updates?
@girlalmighty08 I had pms cramping for a few days but AF was two days late. At the time, I didn't have my hopes up because I thought it was the progesterone cream extending my luteal phase. Got a faint positive on a cheapie test around 12 dpo--and strong positive on a dollar tree test the next day. All the early pregnancy symptoms didn't start up for me until about a week or two later. Then it was terrible gas, gas pain, and weird cramping like a stomach flu. Good luck!0 -
@girlalmighty08 I didn't really have any symptoms in the tww. After all, you may not get pregnant until 12 days dpo so there may not be anything to give you symptoms. I'm 7 weeks today and still don't have symptoms. I was a little tired but turns out that's cuz Keith is messing with my sleep. He has decided he wants to nurse in the middle of the night again even though it's been months since he has done that. I think for my last pregnancy I got sore nipples pretty early on, but again not until at least week 6.0

Hi everyone. I'm new to this group and new to TTC. We've only been trying for one month and my period is about two days late, but I had a negative pregnancy test yesterday. So I'm playing a weird waiting game and trying not to stress about it.
I'm excited to find this group on MFP as I still want to lose as much weight as I can while TTC. My gyno said that the best thing I can do for a healthy pregnancy is to keep exercising and eating healthy so that's what I'm trying to do! I've lost about 75 pounds in the last 18 months, with a goal to lose at least 25 more.1 -
@mebelfanti welcome to the group! We are glad to have you! if you haven't found it already we have a monthly spreadsheet on the main page you can use to track your progress. You can join in at any time if you'd like. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, keep us updated1

@WifiresGettingFit Thanks!
I started my period this morning, which is OK. After looking through my charts/cycle history I think I figured out that my cycle tends to be a few days longer when I am exercising consistently compared to when I'm not. So if I stay consistent with exercise this month, hopefully next month I'll be better able to predict my FW.0 -
@mebelfanti Hi, I'm Lizz. Welcome to the group. It helped me a whole lot being here.0
-
Thanks @Alioth! Congrats on your little one, he's adorable!0

Hi everyone! I'm new to this group, but not new to TTC. I've gained weight in the last year of TTC, as we had two pretty intense pregnancy losses. I handled it poorly diet wise and am now up 25 lbs. Eeekk! I'm working on getting it back off and am down 8lbs this month.
We get to start TTC this next cycle, but I've determined that I'm going to keep going with my weight loss focus until we get that bfp!
Please feel free to add me, I'd love more friends in here!1 -
@GoldenHammer13 Hey! Welcome to the group! I'm sorry to hear about your losses, that's devastating.
Not sure if you saw already but we do a monthly spreadsheet you can use to track your progress, you can join in at anytime if you're interested. It's located on the main page of the group.

Hi! I'm new to this group. I've been TTC for a little over 4 years, had one m/c in 2016, and have a 12yr old daughter... so I know it is possible for me to get pregnant! I live in NZ
I'm waiting to see a Fertility specialist for a second appointment (had my first appointment in March). Hoping this will be next month. The aim is to reduce my weight to help with ovulation and hormone regulation (I have PCOS), and start me on a fertility drug. I have already lost a little over 25kg, and am close to the weight the specialist wanted me to hit (still another 25kg away from goal though!)
Fingers are crossed!0
