I am not weighing in for August and just focusing on maintaining and running my super full and busy life. I'll be back to logging and posting and weighing September 1st! I'm wondering if you could not delete me from the challenge board as I will 100% be returning and I like being on the spreadsheet. I just need a mini break from posting while I focus on real life!! Can you put me in as 0s until the Sunday Sept 2nd weigh in?2 -

I'm so beyond inspired in my life right now, with teaching and trauma training and pottery and all the things I'm doing. I want people to know this break is definitley not due to feeling disenfranchised or blue, or anything negative at all!! Good morning all,
It's been a crazy busy week and I skipped my workout two days in a row because I felt so tired. My friend call me out on that on the second day, so when I got home that night I felt so guilty sitting on the couch doing nothing that I had to force myself to get up and do a jump rope workout. I think that is one of the most effective quick workouts ever. Friday, I had to pickup my son from camp and that was a full day of sitting in the car. However, despite all the challenges, I'm giving myself a gold star this week!

Good morning everyone, happy Sunday!
July has been a good month. I've been pushing myself to get out of the house with friends and either go for swims or walks to keep active.
The scale is moving, and I'm happy for that, but I'm noticing a lot of other non scale victories aswell. I've always had acne and it seems to really be deminishing. In fact, my skin is starting to get that keto glow people are talking about. We will see how long this lasts, hormones seem be be a big impact. Before starting Keto I was also dealing with dandruff that drove me crazy. The dandruff isn't cured or anything but is signifigantly better.
I also went to Winners this month and tried on some clothing for fun. One of my favorite out fits was some high waisted short black shorts and a crop top and I DIDN'T HATE MYSELF IN IT. I would never actually buy it or wear it because I still have a ways to go to feel that confident in my body, also I'm 29 and might be too old for that kinda thing😅
Anyway, here is my month. Rwally happy with the progress as I am for 1lb per week.

My wife was out of town for several days this week, so I was “Home Alone” without adult supervision. I decided to take advantage of my lack of supervision and try a Spartan approach to attack my last ten pounds. For the last week I simplified my eating, food prep and focus. I could do this because, I can and did, eat pretty much the same thing each day for a week. My wife, can’t and won’t, do that. Because she was out of town most of the week, she only had to endure 3 days of my Spartan like activity.
To be honest, I could eat the same thing every day. However, I realize normal people don’t eat that way. I really hope that one day soon this keto lifestyle becomes second nature to my wife and me. I can really see us reaching our goals and maintaining our healthy minds and bodies by eating a variety of high fat, low carb, delicious meals. I eating fat! It lubricates my joints, feeds my brain and fills my tummy. It makes me feel young and in need of adult supervision.

Just kinda bouncing around this weight right now, and, for whatever reason, this is just where my body wants to be right now. It's uncomfortable at times, because I want to see "progress" every day, but I've been keto for 4 months now. I haven't lost a whole lot in that 4 months, but this way of eating really helps me in so many other ways.

Keto has been my salvation. After 65 years I finally know what my body needs to survive and be satisfied. Confusion is gone, serious health issues are gone, guilt about screwing up all the time is gone, replaced by confidence and contentment.
Losing about a pound per week is perfect. Happy dance!6 -

So I had a feeling about this month being a little nutty because of vacation and all. Really, I'm happy with it all because I felt alive with alot of old friends and new and my awesome kids. Back on track for August. My alcohol consumption for July was way up, too. I barely drink like that anymore, lol.

I'm going to try a Meat only challenge in August, well, meats and eggs and goat dairy and maybe some added fats, we'll see. I'm going to miss my vegetables, but I'm up for the challenge, we'll see how long I last. My husband did a meat only month last year, and while he was also exercising, he lost like 45lbs, I'm hoping to lose maybe 153 -

I did it! It happened! I met my goal for July by 8/10ths of a pound!! All of a sudden some water weight just dropped off these last couple of days and I shed 4 pounds. Now, to keep going and doing what made it happen? We'll see. I've not been consuming alcohol, except on Friday evenings (Shabbat, and I've cut back even then), and I think it's made a difference. Probably not so much the calories as the effect of the alcohol on cells, etc. Guess I'll have to wait till I reach my goal and start maintaining to indulge much in that. It will be worth it. Onward to August!
NSV: I'm noticing that clothes that were snug a few months ago are hanging more loosely. They should, I've lost over 17 pounds, but it's been SO SLOW coming off that I haven't been marking those milestones very well.

I have found that I have a gluten allergy. I used to suffer from heartburn and acid reflux almost daily. Since starting Keto, I don't have either, unless we drift off and having something with gluten, then they are both back by the end of the day, and usually the next few until I am back in Ketosis.
Thank you Kathy. I am sorry I am just responding now. And yes this month I have discovered that for sure I have a dairy sensitivity including with cream cheese. I am starting to think that I could be gluten sensitive as well. And I might be sensitive to some nuts and grains as well like coconut and cashews. Those are the one that I might be trying this month of August or if I can afford it, order a sensitivity and allergy test. We will see. I am seeing an endocrinologist as well and will have my check up this month. I will update sometimes soon.1 -

I am so disappointed that my weight went back UP! But then I looked back over my week, and I totally accept fault for it. Also, I weighed myself the next day and was at 239.4, so I think it was water weight. I totally had a whoosh on Sunday. Either way, I did not do as well as I wanted to. I have not been doing well, because I'm doing lazy keto. I need to go back to strict! Starting in August, going to go back to strict keto! AND I have a goal set: 8 lbs I'd like to lose!
