WEIGHT NO MORE TEAM CHAT - JUNE 2019

@Zumba_Luvah No problem about the late weigh in. I asked the moderator's to remove the NWI. They tally the week up on Sundays and today they did it very early. I wish they would wait for Monday to do it but then it is more work for them as most of them have a job to get to. I know it won't be a problem though. Nice loss but you are right, that is a lot to do to get a loss. Is it almost your TOM? Maybe it is just a fat/muscle thing, you are losing fat but gaining muscle? Don't give up, you may lose slow but you are not gaining. Hugs2

Yesterday was a planned rest day but between taking the dogs for a short walk and strolling through the farmer's market I was able to eek out 10,000 steps for the day. Its still a little early for much variety at the market but I picked up mixed lettuces, spinach, more pea shoots YAY and the sweetest, juicy little salad turnips. YUM!! Oh and a loaf of seeded wheat bread from a local bakery.
It rained off and on most of the day and it sure felt good to cozy up on the couch. Water was good. I was especially hungry and although it was planned and logged I consumed more carbs and sodium than normal throughout the day so at the last minute switched up dinner slightly to just the fish and a salad. In my head my little voice told me "OK you know what you ate today... let's end the day on a good note!" LOL Since it was a rest day and I didn't get a lot of exercise I'm going to assume I went over on calories a little.
The sun is shining so today I'll finish planting my veggie garden and begin planting my flowers. Food is pre-logged for today and dinners are planned for the next couple nights. Planning is my best weapon so I'm feeling on track. Off to get in a quick cardio session and then take the dogs for a short walk.
Wishing everyone a wonderful Sunday!!
@Mrsbell8well What a cute room!!4 -

Dangit, didn't think I would have such a gain! Haven't been counting my calories at all, but still doesn't feel like I was over eating so much, gotta get back to counting calories! I know that will help.7 -

Food - logged and 150 over
Water - 2l
Exercise - 9854 steps
We had a nice night out with your younger son last night as our older son was at a sleepover. We took him to a neighbourhood kids festival and then out for dinner to his favourite Italian restaurant. He loved the one on one attention. Avoided all of the festival food, desserts etc, but did have two glasses of Chianti, which put me over by a bit. I also had a lot of pain free walking at the festival, which was fantastic. Once our son was sleeping, my husband and I did the Netflix and chill thing, which resulted in both of us falling asleep in front of the tv! I was planning to get to 10k steps, but Netflix will do that to you. I have a lot of work to do today and my husband is doing all of the hockey stuff with the kids so that I can focus.
@sleepymom5 - I really hope that you get to the bottom of your hip issue soon. Try to do whatever works for you to stay positive and remember how far you have come. My injury has a long one and even walking to the corner for a carton of milk was challenging (I sent my kids most of the time). The injury did set me back in terms of weight gain and muscle loss, but not all the way back, which for me, was a huge success. So focus on the things that you can do, like food, mindset, any gentle stretching, and on getting the right diagnosis/treatment. Praying that you get better soon!
@cyndiesstuff - Gosh, you are a busy lady! Did you decide on your dress for the wedding?
@Mrsbell8well - Skylynn's room is beautiful (and Skylynn is as well!)!

Winner's for this week-
Congrats to Team Weight No More for coming in 2nd place for percentage lost!
The winners this week are @cyndiesstuff in 1st, @Moarrein in 2nd and @Mrsbell8well in 3rd Place! Wtg Ladies!!
@nstephenson01 What a nice weekend you have had! I am glad the weather is cooperating and you can get out to plant! Enjoy!
@twyla77 Nice loss!!
@hope002 Hope everything is going ok. Remember we are here if you need anything!
@bmaison2014 Nice loss!!
@CassieGetsFit2013 Some people are fine with just eating intuitively but I am not there. I have to log and count calories too. Sometimes we eat more than we think we are. Hope things are getting better for you.
@Cafelelia Thank you. It is very encouraging to hear that you are pain free walking now. I hope I get some answers next week. Sounds like you had such a nice night last night. I watched that Steve Jobs movie and fell asleep at the very end. Lol! The exciting Saturday nights we have! I also was thinking about you as I finally finished that book we were both reading. I always have to finish but I wasn't a fan. If you are having trouble getting through it, I wouldn't bother. I am onto the Jen Sincero book now that I think you have read or you have read her books. Hope you have a nice Sunday!4 -
Hi I’m Dana and I’m horrifically bad at posting in this group but I still insist on being a part of it 😂 I’ve been trying to lose the same 20 pounds since late 2017.
I’ve been maintaining the past two months or so without much effort. Even managed to lose a pound or two.
I’d like to change my weigh in to Saturday since that’s when I always end up posting lol.
Goal for the month is to get to 135 or under by July 4th. And post more5 -

Saturday’s? (Was Friday but I’d like to change)

@sleepymom5 are they encouraging you to keep working out? I’m wondering if your body just needs to shut down and rest?
I’m half way through my day. House is clean, fridge is clean, food prepped, muffins made and a high protein lunch. I was on empty. Taking a 5 minute break then on to the Cottage. Phew I’m pooped! But I keep moving.0 -
@Cafelelia sounds like such a nice evening!
Thanks everyone for the compliments.
@Moarrein anxious to hear how your run went. Was thinking about you.
@cyndiesstuff I know you have had a bz day and this eating stuffs not ez. But I really believe you can do it! Just 1 day!1 -
@Mrsbell8well, thanks for thinking about me. All the luck that was sent my way must have worked, because the run went pretty well. I'm far from my best shape, so finished 83rd from 84 people. Yet I'm satisfied with my speed because I expected to make the 15K for 2.5 h and instead finished for less than 2 h. This week I have to recover, because next Sunday is my ultra marathon.
Just wanted to say how much I appreciate all the support this group gives me. And I'm sorry for not being very communicative, but life is busy lately. Besides it takes me pretty much time to write a post, because it's a little hard for me to express myself in English.4 -
@DananaNanas I am so happy you are here! I get a little nervous when you don't check in. I asked the moderators to change your day from Friday to Saturday. They tally up the results early Sunday so that is why we have to contact them after to make changes. Cyndie and I have no control over that. They usually are pretty good about it. I hope things have settled down a little and that everything is going well. Glad you didn't leave us! Hugs!
@Mrsbell8well When they thought it was bursitis I was supposed to rest a week and then slowly go back to my norm. Which I did but now that we aren't sure what is going on, I am taking it easy. Although I am not feeling any better taking it easy... What a productive day and weekend you have had!
@Moarrein Congrats on finishing your 15K in under what you expected! Where are you from? I would have never known that you didn't speak English! I am sure that it is hard to keep up with all these posts having to translate. I can't believe you have another marathon on Sunday! I am sure you will kick butt on that one too!2 -

Daily check in Sunday
Food followed my plan
Water lots of water
Exercise prepped and planted garden
Steps 13545 steps
well the weekend is in the books. i accomplished a lot this weekend. yesterday, we finally got the veggie garden planted. we mudded it in. now, it suppose to rain again today. don't know if our garden will survive but i would imagine it will to some degree. i worked sooooo hard. i did not get the food prep done but did do the menu plan and the grocery shopping. so all in all an amazing weekend. i feel really good about it. i can't believe i kept up with Jim. i would have never been able to do that 2 years ago. i have changed so much. i don't let my pain be my excuse any longer. i live my life in spite of my pain. i am learning to live with the pain. my dress for the wedding is beige with peach flowers on it. it is so lovely. my oldest son has had another relapse. he is a drug addict along with being a schizophrenic. a lot of people with that disorder are. he said he is going to check himself into rehab, in fact he had told me it was all set up for wednesday and that he had to be there at noon and the act team was going to take him there. ummmm.... that was a lie. none of it is set up. we shall see how committed he is to doing this. all he has to do is ask the act team and they will get him the help. i will not do it for him. i am feeling anxious about the interview on thursday. i have been really thinking about what the move would mean. a lot of things would change. not just the job. but i can't continue to stay in a job just because it allows me to do other things besides work. i will figure out how to make my life work with a real job where the only free time i get is the time at lunch. i cannot continue to stay put for my folks sake, for my son's sake. i have to do this for my sake. it is really self care at its finest.
@GingerPwr awwhh!! congrats momma!! and look at the new you go. you enjoyed your celebration and did not over eat! so proud of you.
@Mrsbell8well skylynn is so lucky to have you as a gramma! you are so kind and loving. it really is beautiful. i have been looking for whole buck wheat. any ideas? your muffins sound delish!! and i am so proud of you for taking the high road with you mom and sister. i know how hard that must have been for you. your the type of person that always wants to fix it and you are now realizing that sometimes it cant be fixed and sometimes it is not your place to fix it. lol. ahhhh those steps. they will get you every time!!
@Zumba_Luvah be careful eating so few calories. your right it is not sustainable. you are in effect starving your body. are you taking a multivitamin? are you drinking enough water? are you getting enough sleep? when is the last time you had a physical and had you numbers checked? i am concerned.
@sleepymom5 you get that hip checked this week. i think you really need to rest until you figure this out. i know thats not what you want to hear. but i am afraid you are causing more damage. do a google search like, exercise routine you can do that won't hurt a bad hip. i am sure there is something on u tube. and you need to get that xrayed today. call the doctor and tell them what you want. you are the boss, they work for you.
@nstephenson01 yeah our farmers market doesn't have much of any food items yet. there was a lot of honey products and baked goods. flowers, lots of potted flowers. ohhh girl, look at the new you telling those old habits no. good job talking yourself thru eating lite for dinner!! did you get the rest of your garden planted?
@twyla77 wooo whoooo dancing all around my office this morning. nice loss girl! awesomeness!!!! i am going to look for that cashew dip. sounds yummy!!
@hope002 that is up a little. how are you doing? what is your plan? lets do this. can we help? start with what is your next best step....
@bmaison2014 ohhh yea girl. nice loss. the scale moved in the right direction. you got this!!
@CassieGetsFit2013 yup that is up a little. the only way you can truly know if you are overeating is by recording your food. write down everything you put in your mouth. you have to do that. now lets get busy. you can do this cassie.
@Cafelelia ohhh yeah pain free walking. that is amazing. i am so happy for you. good job giving your son some one on one time. they need that. the dress is beige with peach flowers on it. it is very pretty.
@DananaNanas hey girl!! how ya been? glad you are still with us. you always did better when you checked in daily. i think it really help make you accountable. your a smart woman. you will figure this out when it is important enough to you. figure out your reason why this has to happen. write it down. read it often.
@Moarrein i did not know that English was not your primary language. good job on translating all this stuff. that is amazing commitment all on it's own.

A little team business.
We really need to be careful about not weighing in when we are suppose to. With one no weigh in they can boot you from the team and i would hate to lose any one of you. all i ask is that if you know your not going to be able to weigh in to let us know in advance if possible, even the day of your weigh in so that we can ask them to excuse you. This is important. It is part of being in our group.

Week 1
Weigh in Day:Monday
Previous Weight: 165.2
Current Weight: 161.29 -
Check in for: Friday to Sunday
Logged food: Yes, under each day (Day 7 of 28 day goal)
Water: Didn’t log, but I think close
Steps and Exercise: Over 10,000 steps each day, gardening and yard work
It was a great weekend – got a lot of things checked off of our to-do list, had fun, and made good food choices! I’m feeling so good about sticking to my food plan for 1 week! I’m ready to make it 2!
One thing I need to think about this week is a new exercise schedule with having both kids home. I plan on getting outside with them a lot and being active, but also need to schedule in some time for myself.
Today’s plan:
- Log food, under calories
- Log water, 64 oz
- 12,000 steps
- 30 minute walk outside with kids

@sleepymom5 Thanks for asking them to take off the NWI. This was first time posting my weight late! I'll be at camp most of the summer but we are getting internet at our camp so no more late weigh ins lol. This week I'm going to eat 1200 calories (give or take a few) and see what happens on Saturday when I weigh in.
@cyndiesstuff I know it's not good to eat so little but if I eat more I probably wont lose. I'll try 1200 for the week so we will see what happens on Saturday when I weigh in. I dont take vitamins. I drink more than enough water (always have). Its basically all I drink except for a cup of green tea in the morning and a cup of crystal light in the evening. As for sleeping, I average about 7 hours to 8 hours, plus I take a nap every day. My last physical was October 2018 and everything was fine.3 -
@gottagetthisdown woooo whhhoooo another great loss in the books for you. good job. look out 150's, you will be there soon.
@Shirin_K just look at how just one day turned into just one week. keep that focus on what you can do today! your doing awesome.
@Zumba_Luvah have you ever figured out your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure)?
https://meetatlas.com/tdee/results/?system=imperial&imperial-gender=female&imperial-age=52&imperial-weight=153&imperial-bodyfat=&imperial-height=61&imperial-activity=1.4&imperial-exercise=0.3&imperial-goal=1&submit=Calculate
this is a pretty good site. it will calculate how many calories it takes just to run your body at rest (BMR) and TDEE. maybe it will help you figure out how much you should eat.4 -
Weekend check in
Food - pretty good
Water - not enough
Exercise - Saturday hardly any, Sunday lots
Overall have a pretty good weekend. Joy food was a piece of blueberry pie as we celebrated a birthday. It was yummy and I really enjoyed it!
I have however been noticing all my joints are getting sore - fingers, wrists, knees, shoulders, ankles, toes. Obviously its inflammation from something. I suspect it's sugar since I hardly eat and gluten and definitely no dairy. My yummy Paleo Bites do have honey and maple syrup in them so I'm going to take a break from them for a few weeks and see if it settles down.
I really enjoyed seeing all the amazing losses this past week - great job! So many of you had a great week!4 -
yay, we did it!! and today is has been raining all morning.8 -
Fasting blood work and other labs this morning. Friday I get to see if I am making any impact at all on my diabetes management. I swear if it remains unchanged I am just going to say chuck it all and go buy a Whitman's Sampler or something.
The weekend was busy, I wasn't around the laptop long enough to post. Spent Saturday trying to help my 80 year old dad rip out a semi-above ground pool that his wife decided needed to be replaced. (It doesn't.) It was good to spend time with him but kind of heartbreaking to see how the dementia has diminished him. But I would rather have this time than have him suddenly gone, so I have long known to take the sad moments with the fun ones. Yesterday was church, then a visit to the nursing home to see my MIL. Then we went to dinner with some dear friends who came into town from Raleigh (3 hours away.)
We are hosting Father's Day next week, and Wyfe and I have been working out the menu, trying to account or healthy eating and (cough cough) what everyone else in my family will be eating. So far we have smoked ribs (I'll manage those by eating only one or two,) roasted potatoes (skipping) pasta salad, veggies and hummus, watermelon, homemade pickles, salad. Not sure about dessert, but we usually default to making a sugar free angel food cake for me and dad (diabetics) and something else for the family if they choose. Still thinking about it so except for the ribs things will be added or subtracted. There will be I think eleven of us.
I am off today to run some errands. More later. Have a great Monday, all!5
