WEIGHT NO MORE - OCTOBER CHAT

Check in since forever...
Water is good, exercise = none given I’m trying not to push myself and recover. But man is it hard to not do stuff. I think I over did it on Monday, stomach hurts more and now I have a bruise under my skin below my navel where one of the incisions are that is still hidden by bandages. I know a few of you have had surgery done, either to correct a uterus thing, remove or fix an ovary, or even have the whole thing taken out. This stuff is hard to handle, the physical, then the mental - what if this messes with our hormones, our mental health? Guess I’m worried, I want to be back to “normal”, and feel guilty about taking time away from work and honestly cannot relax as I should. Then also feel silly, I should have done less, not over do it like I did Monday, and prolong my recovery. I’m keeping busy with organizing paperwork and doing some cooking, but then eating too big of portions and eating due to boredom... ahhh, I need to calm down.. and should go to sleep. I’ll try and check in more often, I do think it helps me to write all this down, and figure out things. Right now, I know tomorrow I need to ask for more time away from work, more help around the house and behave myself.5 -

@barbb1557 do you think the nonstop hunger has to do with the time of year? I don’t know how the weather is where you live, but it’s been bordering on low 40s here in Michigan. Yesterday I did the same as you, at lunch time I was eating dinner calories!! Such a daily battle 😝3

Checking in
My hunger finally settled down yesterday and i ate 180 calories for dinner and nothing else. I need to improve my water intake and am now counting my coffee(s) I am hooked on oatmeal with blueberries for breakfast and am starting to add either a 100 calorie pack or half a pack of natural almonds and walnuts for crunch.
Somehow I lost .2 of a pound yesterday and feel recharged and encouraged. I will be heading out for my walk shortly and am hoping I can walk as far and as fast as I did before my dog walking week.
Have a great day everyone!4 -
Wednesday 10/16 check in
Food: not logged but on track
Exercise: 30 minute walk
Water: 64 oz
I am sorry I didn't check in last night but I have a cold and it is kicking my butt. Either that or the time change back from Denver. I am so exhausted! Yesterday was good. I didn't eat according to my plan but I ate 2-2. I ended up going to a late lunch with my daughter and then having cereal for dinner. I did see the sports medicine doctor yesterday. He wants me to continue PT . He said my hip is still pretty weak so he thinks that would be the best. I did ask him if it is ever going to get better and he said it would. I am trying to focus on looking how far I have come rather than how far I have to go. I am doing better than when I started PT so it can only get better. Today no big plans. I am going to walk my son's dog Charlie. He is a chocolate lab. He is so strong so it is a challenge to walk him. He is so lovable. His tail wags non stop and he just wants to kiss you all the time. I love my kids' dogs but...it would be nice to get some grandchildren one of these days! Lol!
@tryingagain5 That is why we are here, we aren't just here for the good days. That is the story of my life with the gaining and losing. That is why I seem to be a broken record when people go off track. I always say just get right back, don't beat yourself up over slip ups. I used to just spiral downward and ended up gaining everything back too. Remember this is a lifestyle change. Make changes you are willing to keep doing your whole life. I think you would like the podcasts that we refer to occasionally. Losing 100 lbs with Phit and Phat. Warning-she curses a lot but has a great message. Don't let that gain derail you. First of all, you are in onderland and you don't want to cross back over that line. Second of all, you are doing so well you don't want to ruin all your progress. Just go forward. Nice job getting the fruit and veggies in. I had a good day and yesterday not so good...I need to make this a habit.
@lennoncpa Do you like fruit? On the podcast I listen to, they suggested eating an apple. If an apple isn't going to appeal to you, then you aren't hungry. I am glad getting on here and writing about it helped you the other day.
@amsandos Another great day!! MFP isn't always the most reliable, glad you were able to get on today.
@Barbb1557 That weather was awful yesterday. I am the same way with the hunger. I am trying what I suggested above to lennoncpa It has worked so far.
@Cafelelia Hope you feel better! My husband and I got one in Denver. Colds really can kick your butt!
@ljdanny- OMG!! How exciting!! I was going to ask what a mug snack is but it is probably something I don't need to know about Lol! I already like too many snacks. I am a day behind responding so I hope everything went well with the delivery. Hugs!!
@amytriesww You are really doing amazing! I love your consistency!
@julie8468 Cyndie had a rough time with that too. It is a major surgery and like you said there is some emotional components to it. It is really important you let your body heal. You will get back to where you were before surgery. Healing is what is important now. You also need to be kinder to yourself, no more negative self talk girl! Why don't you make a plan for each day. Think of things that you would do if you had the time to that wouldn't impact your recovery. Is there a book you want to read? Maybe a show to binge watch? Don't feel guilty because you are doing something enjoyable. It is also a good idea to organize things that have been bugging you like you have been doing. I think if you have a plan for the day, instead of eating, you may do something on your plan. And we would love for you to check in more and tell us how you are doing! I hope you feel better soon. Hugs!

Really enjoying having my dad here while my Husband is home but haven’t been online much. Eating is back on track and I have been able to exercise everyday. Happy to see the scale cooperate. Looking forward to reaching my goal weight by Thanksgiving. 🤞
Have a great day everyone!!4 -
Check in for Wednesday
Food - logged & under (thanks to cold)
Water - 1.5 l
Exercise - rest day (thanks to cold)
Feeling better, but not over it yet. I had to cancel my training today to rest. We are taking the kids to a high school open house for my older boy, so I need to rest up to get through the evening.
@nstephenson01 - Nice loss! You can totally get to goal by Thanksgiving!
@sleepymom5 - I am glad that the doctor told you that you would get better. PT gets so tiresome I know, but you have to keep at it. I am ready for a PT break myself. It was late November last year when my injury started. While I am so much better now, I still have a few days here and there where the sciatic nerve feels a bit sore. I am just down to 2 PT exercises daily and I may take a PT break in November. Will see how I feel and if the training continues to help. I just want to feel all better, and I know that you do too!2 -

@sleepymom5 a mug snack is one of those cakes you make in a mug. Single serving. It's good but 400 calories, yikes!!
Baby came yesterday afternoon, very exciting time. She's adorable. Can't wait for her to come home. I'm enjoying a peaceful night to myself.3 -
@nstephenson01 I am glad that you are enjoying your Dad's visit and that your husband is home! Nice job being able to stay on track with eating and exercising with everyone there. Enjoy!
@Cafelelia Hope you were able to rest up and get to the open house. Colds really can knock you out! Thanks for the encouraging word about the PT. I just need to be patient and do what I need to do. I know it takes time, I just want to feel better lol!
@ljdanny Congratualtions Grandma!! Enjoy the peaceful night, she will be there before you know it! xoxo . I can't believe those mug cake has so many calories! I would have thought it would be at least half of that!

I am so close to onderland! I think I would be there but I haven't really been back to normal with pooping (or sleeping) since I have been back. This is the lowest I have been since August. I was just looking over my weight chart and I actually didn't do too bad this summer until August. I thought I blew it the whole entire summer. Doesn't sound like a big deal but it actually makes me feel like I can get the summer under control. I know what happened in August. My brother visited. Hmmm.....Have to run, Daisy has the groomer this morning. She is so fluffy you can barely see her eyes. Other than that, I have so much to do around the house but I plan to start on my stationary bike. Now besides my left hip, my right knee is killing me! I am going to just do the bike. I don't know what this knee is about but it has woken me up the last 3 nights.
Weekend-I already have my plan. I am going to a sunflower festival and to lunch with friends. I am not going to exercise before, I think we will do a lot of walking. I know what I am going to order for lunch. That is all that is going on this weekend. Otherwise I plan to eat what I normally do. I need to stop today and get some more stuff for salads.
Remember to make your weekend plans! It makes things a little easier if you have a plan!
@pacsnc6 Awesome loss!! Hope things are going well3 -
I am thrilled with that drop - 2 pounds!
Went to the state fair with my daughter yesterday. We walked around the whole area stopping to eat only twice - lunch was shrimp and scallops and later we shared some funnel cake - mmmm my favorite fair food! I can't believe I rode the "tallest ferris wheel ever there" at 150 ft high and then rode the swings too. Fun day with her taking a mental health day off from teaching.3 -

This feels like a plateau, even with this small loss. Plateaus have thrown me off in the past and some made me give up. I am changing my thinking this time. In Ms. Crabtree’s words, I am going to figure this out. This is not a short or medium term diet. Plateaus are temporary. This is how I live my life now.
Focusing on the positive, here is a summary of where I am at right now:
*14.5 lbs lost overall
*overall body weight is down 8.6%
*Body fat lost is 2.4% (since Sept 1)
*Muscle Mass gain is 2.3%. (Since Sept 1)
*1 inch lost on waist, 1.5 inches lost on hips (since Sept 1)
*Got a clean bill of health at my annual physical (aside from sciatica injury)
*Injury has almost healed. I walked with a limp in January & could not walk a few blocks to the corner store. I have my mobility back, can walk up to an hour a time, and have made a lot of progress with my trainer.
*Several pairs of jeans and pants fit again
*My husband and kids have watched me work daily on injury recovery and training. This has inspired them to focus more on fitness. My husband got a trainer, my older son uses our home gym daily & works out after school, and our younger boy has taken up yoga!
*I am teaching my boys how to cook & bake.5 -
@pacsnc6 - Congratulations on your amazing loss!! Great job with your eating at the fair!

@ljdanny - Congratulations!!! Let us know your granddaughter’s name when you have a chance!
@lennoncpa - Nice maintain and impressive number of steps!!

Honestly the weight lost is as a result of the water weight I had gained at surgery. I will put more effort in this coming week in reflecting on what I can change while still recuperating. Hope you all have a great day!!5 -

Checking in
My hunger is still not under control and I over ate when I got home from my meeting yesterday. Thankfully I lost .2 of a pound and got my walk in this morning. It is such a relief when my walk is finished and I can add it to MFP.
It is my grand daughter Holly's birthday and she is 2. I was invited to an indoor play zone for toddlers and I am anxious to see her. I have no idea whether I will be invited for a meal or back to their home, I have a few presents for her. I absolutely love picking her up and raising her in the air, but that is the worst thing for my back. I need to remember that I am there for Holly and have no control over others actions or comments. This will be an emotional day for me.6 -
