Diane: I agree. Lindsey got the crystal pieces from the woman that I wanted. I only asked for 5 pieces. They remind me of events that were special to my mom. I just wish my step dad would have talked it over with me before he gave it all away. I have several pieces of her jewelry that are so important to me.

Fridgegate is OVER!!!! New fridge was delivered today!! So done with Sears!

Good morning ladies, I am finishing up laundry and then going to Mom's. Then dinner at Bravos and Maleficent with my daughter to celebrate her birthday which is actually Halloween. TRX was a killer, but it always is. Actually not all of it, just the core stuff. I have super strong arms and legs but the core never seems to get any better, lol. Dinner was a huge piece of walleye, fried but so worth it. We went with a couple from the Eagles and the 12 y/o daughter of a good friend of ours. He is in Florida for 2 days and we wanted to make sure she got at least one good dinner while he is gone, lol. Grandma is not too good at cooking.

Bert, can't believe the saga is finally over. I have never in my life heard of such a mess over one appliance. I will never buy from Sears again either.

Diane, hope today finds Elise better for you and that her stomach issues are over.

Lots to do, talk again soon, waving to one and all

Hello all. I succumbed to the snack monster late yesterday evening, and I am NOT normally an evening snacker. Got to watch that and just go to bed!

Elise is here with me today. She vomited several more times late yesterday. They are going to be referred to a GI specialists, I think, if this doesn't clear soon. In the meantime, she is still on the BRAT diet. I think she has LOST weight, which is never good in a toddler. She had a very happy morning, and is now napping. We'll see what happens when she wakes up from her nap. Her MO the last few days has been a happy normal morning, then limp, unhappy and nauseous after her nap. I am still very worried.

Bert, yay for a new fridge! Now let's just hope it keeps working! Cannot believe how long this has taken.

Patti, have a happy birthday outing with your daughter. And congrats to your granddaughter and grandson on having a little girl!

    Waving to everyone else.

Good morning. Managed to keep my intake reasonable yesterday - am experimenting with different things (foods, times of day, etc.) and really focusing on Pause and "No, thanks." Even turned down Chex Mix and peanuts last night (James ate two big bowls and I had none). Any day I can do that is a good one in my book.

Karla, thinking of you and yours a lot these days.

Bert, FINALLY!!!!!!!! Hope the new fridge works wonderfully and for a long time. Having some of your mom's jewelry is so meaningful - I have my mom's nice rings and love them too.

Diane, fingers crossed that Elise will feel better every day - it just hurts to see little ones feel so bad. Hope it's a temporary thing, but docs will get to the bottom of it (just never soon enough).

Patti, nice of you to make sure the kid had a nice meal - she probably enjoyed the time out with adults too.

Paula, your new home is going to be so beautiful - you all deserve it and have worked so hard for it. Love the pics. How are you feeling these days?

Cindy, you're in my thoughts often. If you're going to get back to OH and have time, I'd love to see you again (maybe Patti and Paula, too).

Big hugs to everyone. Have a great rest of the week, friends.

True confessions time, my eating is out of control and I don't seem to any real reason for it, other than poor planning and lack of the proper attitude. Not liking how I look and feel so am working to get my mind back where it needs to be. Nice day with Mom, then dinner with my daughter was just so relaxed and fun. We know each other better and the talking comes more easily these days. "Maleficent" was absolutely great, even better than the first one. Can't wait to go see it again. We watched it in XD, which is basically bigger, louder and the room shakes, lol.
Edd took our little friend for a bike ride and then over to the club for pizza last night. She loves both. So sweet of Edd to make sure she is looked after, I did not prompt him.
Breakfast with the girls at our favorite local bakery/restaurant. We have so many upcoming events with each other it took us an hour to coordinate our calendars. Not all can attend all but we want to make sure the majority are able.

Diane, sounds like Elise might have some reflux issues. Didn't she have some issues as an infant? Hope they get to the bottom of things and fix her quickly.

Janet, yeah for any day we make good choices. I can't seem to say no to anything these days.

All my heart and prayers to everyone for health, peace and healing

    Good evening all,

Well the crud grabbed hold and would not let go. There were a couple days that I couldn't talk at all. Still not talking normal but it's getting better. Still with sinus and chest congestion and cough like no other. Was feeling better Saturday so helped my husband take down chain link fence at our local playground. That was hard work as there was a lot of fence and posts were cemented in ground. We worked a good 4 hours or more then the annual Halloween party was that night. All was good but it came back hard Sunday and I'm still trying to get back to normal. I shouldn't have done either of the things Saturday. I should have stayed home and let my body get over this crud but well.....I am stubborn lol.

I'll read and get to personals tomorrow. Have a great night all!

Hello all - I am still taking care of Elise every day this week. I took her to her pediatrician today (Had Rossanne on the phone) because she is still vomiting in the evening, and becoming very lethargic almost floppy around 5 pm. Pediatrician said it looks viral to her because of inflammation of her nasal passages, post nasal drip, could be influenza B or another virus she mentioned that started with an E. She is also extremely constipated. So they took her off the Pepcid because that wasn't doing anything and it is constipating. Took her off the BRAT diet (also constipating), and said to give her anything she wants to eat but focus on apple juice, prunes, etc to help with the constipation. I'm not sure I understand why the lethargy and vomiting only happens late in the day or evening. Poor baby has lost over 2 lbs in the last ten days (and at 33 pounds, that is alomost 10% of her body weight!)

I will have her again tomorrow. I hope they can get her over this by the end of the weekend!

    Good morning and TGIF.

Diane, hope Elise shows improvement today - poor little thing. Having you to snuggle with is a blessing.

Bert, how did your visits go? Please tell us the new fridge is working perfectly - no wonder Sears is on the brink of going down. Nearly all my clothes as a kid came from Sears - we'd get the big catalogue in the summer and I was usually allowed to pick three reasonably-priced outfits for back-to-school. I remember going into the store to pick up our order (and occasionally trying clothes on - in the Chubbette (sp?) department - no lie.

Patti, you know I hear you. A magic wand would be nice, but we have to work on our mental game, which is always difficult. So sweet of Edd to be such a good gramps figure to the little girl - good practice for Leo and his soon-to-be baby sister.

Paula, please listen to your body and let yourself recover. Looks like a rainy Saturday - good time to read or do a puzzle with the kids.

    Cindy and Karla, sending hugs.

Good morning all, I made reasonable CHOICES for a change. Healthy egg white omelette (first in a very long time) Kind bar before my workout and a Philly Cheesesteak salad from Penn Station with my own low cal/fat dressing. TRX was a challenge and something I almost skipped because my back was hurting. Surprisingly the workout made it stop. I am working 2-7 today and 9-5 tomorrow and 10-3 on Sunday. I should be nearly crippled by the end of that. I asked to not work any 8 hour shifts going forward, my feet just cannot take it. He had the new assistant manager do the current schedule while he was on vacation. He has had nothing but complaints. I am hoping that working more will help with my eating.

Paula, I do hope you listen to your body and take it easy. Tearing down a fence when you are not 100% wasn't your best choice, lol. Do be kind to you. Those little ones count on you being well.

Diane, oh my, poor Elise. It must be a pretty mean virus to hit her so hard. Praying she improves soon. Wonder if you should get a second opinion if she doesn't improve in a day or too. I know constipation can take it's toll on the little ones even more than it does on adults. 2 pound weight loss is significant in one so small.

Janet, sending you hugs for Theo. Leo will be getting a new baby brother in Feb. The baby girl will be coming from my granddaughter. Edd is a big softie but hides it well. He doesn't do anything with the kids until they can talk. So he has his limits, lol.

Bert, I bet you are doing a happy dance in front of your fridge. Still amazed at the entire saga. Hope your visits went well.

Sending prayers, as always, to Cindy and Karla.

I am going to try to get the curtains cut for my great granddaughter's room before I go to work. I finished putting my shower curtain together. Just need to make the buttonholes for hanging.

Good Saturday morning all. I have a busy day ahead. Grocery shopping on a Saturday! I hate it but with Elise all week I didn’t want to try a major shopping with her along. Then loading Charly4 for our last trip with him Sunday through Tuesday, headed for Skyline Drive. Trunk or Treat at church this afternoon, so I need to be there by noon to set up my pirate ship trunk.

I’m trying the fruit and veg at all three meals again today. Pineapple chunks with my mushroom and spinach omelet for breakfast. Probably leftover black bean enchilada for lunch with an Apple. And grapes for an appetizer ahead of pot roast and salad for dinner. Pot roast was supposed to be yesterday, but Elise distracted me and I never got the slow cooker going. (Which I didn’t realize until she left at 4!).

I haven’t heard how her evening went. She was fussy yesterday so was pretty needy.

Back later for personals. I have to get myself going!

Good morning, all. Did OK yesterday but caved to peanut M&Ms when offered in the evening. Rats. Sipping coffee now after a weird (but not atypical) night. My recent pattern is to sleep for 1-3 hours, be awake for at least two hours, then maybe get another hour or more. It's a classic rainy day here - something we've seen only twice since June. There are lots of sports to watch, plus DVR'd stuff. I've already unloaded the dishwasher and done a couple of other small tasks. Might put DVDs away, etc., while I watch stuff. Glad the house is clean and that there's no need to go anywhere.

Diane, what a perfect choice for Charly4's final trip with you and John. May the weather be flawless and the traffic be light.

Patti, your mojo was just hiding. Sorry about the baby-gender confusion. I knew Leo was get
ting a brother but got confused with the other little one you're awaiting - so much joy!

Waving hello to Bert, Paula, Cindy, and Karla.

Hello all. Sitting down for the first time since much earlier today! Trunk or treat went well - we had about 65 kids, which for us is a lot. Here are a couple of photos: My pirate ship, me and my parrot, and my darling Elise as a bumble bee (she didn't want to wear her wings.)

Patti, I hope your day wasn't too grueling. I was on my feet for about four hours today, and they are killing me! I can't imagine how you manage an 8 hour shift.

Janet, my clothes as a kid came from Sears too, and yes the Chubby section. Do you remember the matching animals to show which ones would go together? We are supposed to get the rain tomorrow.

Paula, I don't think you know HOW to take it easy!

Bert, how were the visits? You seem like you are always on the road.

    Waving to Karla and Cindy.

My eating choices have not been very good lately - the snack monster come back with a vengeance.

Happy birthday, Beet! Hope you are surrounded with family and love all day.

Diane, the pirate ship was really cute. I normally don’t like bees, but the rare and precious Wingless Elise Bee is a worthy exception. What a cutie - how’s she feeling?

Eating was quite good yesterday. Yay!

Good Morning, Ladies. Yesterday was a gloomy day.....it rained all day and then the wind started. We were going to attend Jillian's soccer tournament in Indy, but decided not to go due to the weather. Greg said she played well despite the weather. He also said 3 girls quit during the 1:00 game and one was the coach's daughter! She's currently playing. I hope they win. We will go to Cole's soccer game at 1:00.

Diane: My visits were fine. These next two weeks are going to be brutal as my students need to get their observations done. I'll be on the road alot. Cute pictures of Elise and the Trunk or Treat.

Have a great day, everyone! I need to get ready for church.

Good morning ladies, I made it through the 8 hours much better than I thought. I was training a new employee, a delightful and industrious 18 year old who wants to be a mortician. She was a quick study and engaging with the customers. Pretty mature compared to most of the girls I have met at that age lately. At least when I work 8 hours I get 2 15 minute breaks and and 30 minute lunch, that really helps the feet. I work 5 hours today then will have 2 days off. I started the curtains for the baby's room and plan to finish them tonight or tomorrow.
Ribs in the crockpot yesterday were just ok.

Diane, Elise is the cutest bee ever. How is she feeling? Love the pirate ship and you are quite the gorgeous pirate.

Bert, Happy Birthday and hope it is spectacular.

Janet, hope you are enjoying "your" weather, lol.

Time to go to work and have some fun

Good Morning, Ladies. Thanks for all the birthday wishes. It was a great day! I got to FaceTime with Dylan, Penny, Dan, Annie, and Lindsey and Justin with the twins. Mike and I went to Cole's soccer game and then Greg, Carrie, Cole, and Jillian went to "Linner" with us. I like to call it linner as it combines lunch and dinner. Mike and I went to Sam's for a few things. I ran into one of my friends who is still a teaching assistant and my former school. We had a great visit.

I'm getting ready for another traveling visit. I visit a student today and then drive up to northern IN for a visit tomorrow. No rest for the wicked, I guess.

    Have a great day, everyone!

Awwww Monday, so glad I don't work them anymore, lol. Yesterday was super busy, let the holiday retail madness start. People waiting until the night before their halloween parties to get material to make a costume is just the tip of the iceberg for what is to come. Combine that with super low sale prices on fleece makes for a very tiring 6 hour shift. For the most part people played nice, it helps that I kept up a chatter to get them laughing and engaging with each other while waiting. Sometimes I give them a topic to discuss, not really but sounds like a good idea that I might use in the future, lol. Have done better the past few days and then Edd brought us pizza for dinner. Too tired to fight it. Today I will get groceries, do a bit of housework, hope to do some sewing and then TRX.

Bert, perfect birthday when you get to connect with your kids and grandkids. Safe travels.

Waving hi to the rest of the crew. Prayers for those that need it.
