Thanks DogMom!
You're welcome Connie -- I'm glad I have a positive impact on you, that makes me happy. Your constant cheering on my feed/elsewhere is similarly motivating, so thank you as well2 -
Despite the scale not moving things are happening I guess as I wore a top last night out to dinner that hadn't fit me last time I tried it on. Also kept within calories for dinner (hubby's birthday) and although I had enough for dessert decided not to "spend" them. And didn't have food envy when my son ordered a cointreau and chocolate mousse. Previously I would have ordered even though I wasn't hungry.4

Loving reading these, especially the ones that are changes of habits, i think that is excellent progress.
Changes in my attitude to food is currently stopping me undoing all my hard work.3 -
Went out to lunch with family, normally this turns into a "treat yourself" meal where I do a whole days calories in appetizers, desserts, etc. Instead I halved my meal, abstained from appetizers, and kept in my calorie goal. Hardest part was saying no thanks when two people kept offering me their dessert, and it wasn't that hard to say no First time that has happened in a long time!5

Bought a size smaller top today which was awesome! And put on a pair of last year's summer 3/4 length trousers and they fell round my hips. That was just a wicked discovery. Last summer I squished into them so it was a huge achievement to see them almost fall off. Didn't have to undo the zip and button to get them on and watch them slip down low. What a great feeling. Scale ain't moving but getting the NSVs.9

I went out with girlfriends yesterday (ate and drank far too much but hey ho) and stepped completely out of my comfort zone, I had my hair cut considerably shorter, wore mustard coloured trousers instead of my standard black ones and a printed top instead of just plain. I felt (and looked) a different person, I often struggle to see a difference but yesterday really gave me a boost.10

This morning I put on a pair of jogging pants and it felt a little more snug than I'm used to. Checked the tag to see if I'd picked up an XL pair by mistake (I wear 2XLs typically)... but nope. It was a Large. Snug but comfortable12

My wife and I went out to eat at Outback Steakhouse while it shopping this weekend. We sat in a booth. It is not the first time I fit in a booth, but it still brings a smile to my face when it happens.9
-
I totally agree with the booth thing, it's not new that I fit in them but it still has a major impact on me. The other day I texted my wife a picture of all the room I had now at a local convenience store's booths when I didn't fit in them at all before. I remember feeling super embarrassed as I had to stand next to the booth my daughter was sitting in as she ate an ice cream cone.6

The booth is a powerful thing and I hope I never take it for granted.
I have an elliptical now. It is still trying to murder me but a little less now. I close my 30 minute exercise ring each morning now before the sun comes up. I can't always do it without stopping but that is okay. It is not my favorite thing to do but it is proper cardio and easy on my knees. There is something about getting it done early that is helping me to be even more active during the day.
It has been enough time now and my BP has stabilized so it is confirmed that my days of taking a BP medication are over. I am still taking a half dose of the diuretic but I still have hopes that will be gone after the first of the year.
Other ReFirsts: (ReFirst is what I call something I was able to do before gaining that I can do again like sitting in a booth)
Walked 4 miles continuously on Thanksgiving.
Attended a business function and I was able to move about easily and socialize
Helped decorate for Christmas (the ladder was problematic with my previous center of gravity problem)
Bought a coat "off the rack"

When I started MFP I wore 3x pants....I bought a pair of 2x and wore them this morning...I should have gotten smaller ones because I had to pull the waist up to my boobs!...they were not expensive so I am keeping them but I won’t be wearing them very long!...I also got rid of my 3x tops and I am wearing a loose 2x...also took the extenders out of my bra!....I think my ear rings are looser too, lol9

Rock it out @conniewilkins56!!1

omg! I just got my lab results back and my A1C is back down to 5.8 AND a couple of other results are back within normal range!! When I can I'm going to do a cartwheel.9

I think this counts... I went to my first spin class today! I've never done a gym, or a group fitness class, and definitely not spin.class, so this was a first! and I survived. 😃
it was definitely a challenge, but the nice thing is you get to choose your own resistance settings (and can sit if you need/want to). I pushed myself, but didn't try to keep up with others. looking forward to my next class!10 -
Well done @amkita, that definitely qualifies as a NSV!3

downside: my thighs have been sore all day. apparently outdoor cycling and indoor cycling use different leg muscles.1

We planned a trip before the surgery to mark what we believed and what turned out to be the end of the major hurdles of healing. We just got back. While away I purchased a souvenir shirt which is my first (another refirst) in at least 2 decades.
I am also happy to report that I did enough exercise and movement each day I was away to satisfy my normal daily goals. Of course I ate too much too but that is another story.
For some reason I am quite sore today which I do not completely understand unless I am sympathetically sore because of @amkita.4 -

I do hope it's not sympathetic soreness!
day 2 post spinning, still slightly sore. dang. I signed up for another class this weekend, but hopefully the soreness won't be as bad the second time around.
muscles are really good at letting us know they haven't been used in a while.2 -

My soreness continues too. Slightly less than yesterday. I haven't done anything new which is why this is odd. The only thing that happened was a 4 day break from the elliptical. It may be partly due to the mass exodus of water weight that has begun.2
